By morning things have changed, the captain talks to mako about project blackguard on how its proceeding so they can use it to battle the gauna and Yuri talks with the civilian council about the strategy to increase Sidonia's population. Yuri-Please take a look at this. It's a plan to increase the total population to a half a million people in six generations or ruffly one hundred years. Women-Do you know how hard raising children is? Man-But what about the food supply we can't possibly sustain that many people after the war, Professor Yuri. Yuri-There's no need to worry these children will not be burden they will photosynthesize.
Sakiko-Are you shore about that? The council looks to see sakiko walking in then Yuri says what are you doing here sakiko this is a private meeting. Sakiko-Sorry but I could help to wonder and hear if your plan would work. Yuri-It will work. Sakiko-True but if we don't defeat the gauna though that wont matter right. Yuri-That is true. Sakiko-

Sakiko-You heard the news about how his ship went to rescue him and later return nagate has the technology Sidonia needs but yet he won't share it. Man-Yeah, your right out of everything of Sidonia his ship is the most advanced piece of technology we have. If he could give us every piece of technology from his ship it could help protect Sidonia more.
Yuri-That's if he willing to share his technology remember what happened after the chained gauna was defeated. Sakiko starts to walk towards the exit while saying wells it's either that or Sidonia falling at the hands of the gauna again then leaves. The council talk among themselves then one person speaks up and says she right we need to talk to the captain about convincing him to share it. If she can't then we should do something about it. In unison the whole room says agreed with Yuri making a nervous look and sakiko sending a message to mako saying it done. Yuri leaves and arrives at the area where they were uploading the virus into nagate to think over what happened there then decides to call izana.
Izana-Hello grandma what's going on? Yuri-Oh its nothing important I just wanted to know how you were getting along? Izana-I'm doing fine thanks. Yuri-Well you haven't been home in while I just wanted to hear your voice. Izana-Oh I need to go I'm sorry grandma all be home the next time I have time off well see you. Yuri-Oh ah. After putting her phone away, she looks back at the area and says was making him forget the right choice. Back with izana her and nagate are on their way to the research division, while walking nagate ask was that your grandma on the phone. Izana-Yeah, she's been very busy with work, so I haven't bothered going home in a while.
Nagate-What does she do? Izana-Just stuff about new technology for the guards but to be really honest I don't really know. Nagate-I take it that's why mako was with you? Izana- Yeah, Nagate sorry I didn't mean to bring it up, Izana- Its ok I'm over it. After arriving at the research station nagate rings the door then from distance hears someone saying excuse me. They turn around to see someone rushing to them then accidentally trips and begins to float forward into nagate and he quickly embraces her. Numi-oh ah thank you. Your Nagate Tankikaze aren't you? Nagate-Yeah that's me. Numi-Thank you for bringing her I mean it back with you thank you. Nagate-Your welcome, I guess. While they talk izana stands there with a jealous look then speaks up and says umm. Numi- And you would be? Izana-Oh I'm pilot cadet shinatose I didn't want to nagate to come alone so I tagged along.
Numi-I'm Numi I'm with the erd it's a pleasure. After greeting them she takes them inside and begins to say once an Ena is separated from it core it can live on its own, but we don't know for how long. It's the first time a gauna has actually recreated a human being so completely. Izana- um so why exactly did nagate get called here. Numi-For a test. Izana-Ah test?, Numi- To see if it has human like intelligence or not. Izana-Ok but why nagate? Numi-Because it actually spoke, and it said nagates name. Izana-What your name? Nagate-How's that possible? Numi-We thinks it because when the gauna absorbed hoshijiro it may have taken her memories and that what we're going to try and find out. Secs later nagate steps into a room with barrier walls in front of him then numi says all shine some light through now and nagate replies with ok after turning it up they are both surprised to see what they're looking at.
They see the Ena looks exactly like hoshijiro but with red planta covering her and tentacles coming out her back. Nagate says her name and it reacts to it then he says it again only this time the tentacles try attack him but can't because of the barrier making him jump back and numi closes the shutters. After the incident they all decided to get away for a bit and get some food, at the café numi explains to nagate that it wasn't a necessary attack against him, and he replies with who knows making izana worry for him. Secs later they here Tsuruuchi come in with samari and another pilot saying oh hey if it isn't nagate. Nagate-Oh hey Tsuruuchi. Tsuruuchi-And you two are? Numi-I'm numi tahiro from the erd. Izana- And I'm cadet izana shinatose. Tsuruuchi-Pleasure to meet you. Waiter-What can I get you? Tsuruuchi-Get me the usual.
Waiter-Coming up. Samari-What about the ena specimen from gauna 491 were you able to learn anything from it? Numi-It recreated something close to human with emotions as well. Tsuruuchi-Emotions huh. Samari-The thing is the guard formed gauna that retreated moved like it could only be piloted by a human being the shear fact that gauna actually possess human like intelligence it changes things in fact it changes everything when it comes to out strategy. Tsuruuchi-Yeah how though it would make it a lot easier if those things were human and in a heigus particle cannon fight we wouldn't lose. Samari- You really on the heigus particle cannon far too much. Tsuruuchi-huh. Samari-I know there's no recoil and its only effective at peeling away the ena but don't forget heigus particles are the source of the gaunas energy. Tsuruuchi-Of course your right. Pilot-Do me a favor let's make this quick I need to get three assists to a photosynthesizing session for two with samari. Samari-I don't care how many times you ask I'm never photosynthesizing with any of you. Izana smiles for a bit, but it then quickly fades away when she sees nagate still sad then he says if you'll excuse me, I think I need some air then leaves the cafe with the gang wondering what's wrong with him and izana worrying about him even more.
While that's going on Kunato is at his home thinking about his earlier conversations with mako. Flashback- (Kunato-You finally reply after all this time you realize what you made me do. Mako-I'm sorry for not getting back to you but plans have been put into motions and because of what you did we can finally complete those plans. Kunato-What plan all my actions did was get one of my squad mates killed. Mako-I am sorry that they did but the plan worked and its all thanks to you.)- end of flashback. Mozuku- I've done exactly as you have ordered. I have requested a special leave of absence this is what you wanted master Nairo. Kunato-I'm done with piloting I can never step foot inside a guard ever again after what I did.
While remorsing about what he did he spots the captain walking by with Yuri and Ochiai then quickly opens his man monitor to track them. Kunato-So what is this all about anyways? Mozuku-Actually only the head of the Kunato family is at liberty to know that. They've been preparing for this special ritual since yesterday. As soon at the captain steps into the elevator and starts to go down the feed end then Kunato asks is there a way we could see more and mozuku replies one moment.
On the elevator the captain explains to Yuri they'll use this opportunity to extract the information we need from the auxiliary brain then asks can it be done. Yuri-Yes but it might take some time to access it. Even among all of ochiai's research it is very deeper than the rest. Are you certain you want to do this? Captain-Do it. Yuri-Understood. Mins later mozuku manages to unlock the feed and what they see frightens them, they see Ochiai hookup under massive Machine then secs later a small electric charge zaps him, and he begins to act different.
Ochiai-So this means that Sidonia did not fall. Is captain Kobayashi still alive? Come on Kobayashi did you think you can forget me already this is really unpleasant. Yuri- The gate has been opened connecting to the auxiliary brain we no longer need to keep him conscious for the task. Ochiai-Wait please don't I'm begging you. Kobayashi there will come a time when you are going to need me. Kobayashi-Put him to sleep. Yuri-understood. Ochiai-You will need me for when he betrays you. Kobayashi-Oh Ochiai. While that's going the local news tells the citizens that command has approved a mission to the lem star systems seventh planet with dozens of volunteers joining the mission. Some think they shouldn't while the gauna cluster is close to them others believe the gauna won't attack the colony ship if they don't have any Kabizashis.
Some think it's good idea for the survival for humanity, but others think with the people leaving the military will dwindle even izana is beginning to worry about it. Izana-Everyone is talking about the colony ship. Nagate-Yeah. Izana-They all have a different opinion I wish I knew what was going to happen. Heyyy are you listening nagate? Nagate-Ah yeah, I am. Izana-Then give me an answer. Nagate-What uh I yeah. Izana- Unbelievable. Yuhata-Nagate, hey guess what did you know that the pilots cafetoria just added a gravity stew to their menu. Nagate-No I didn't know been a bit busy with some personal stuff. Izana-How are we supposed to know that? Yuhata-Well of course it has nothing to do with a cadet like you izana nagate would you want to go with some time?
Before he could answer his wrist com goes off, he looks at it and says Sorry you two the extraterrestrial research division needs me again. Yuhata-the erd? Izana-Again? Nagate-I ain't pleased about it but the sooner I get it done the sooner I get back to my work. Yuhata-What work is that? Nagate replies with finding a way back home then leaves the area mins later he arrives at the erd. He steps into the chamber then numi asks are you ready and he replies with ready as all ever be then numi flashes the light through and nagate sees gauna hoshijiro floating. He says her name and it attacks again with its tentacles, numi goes to hit the shutters but nagate tells her to wait.
The ena then calms down and curls up into a ball then nagate notices it looks familiar to what hoshijiro did when they were trapped together. Numi-It seems like it's finally calmed down you should try talking to it. Nagate-ok, Um ah hoshijiro. Are you ok? Ena-Ta-ni-ka-ze. Numi-Did it really answer. Nagate replies with sort of let me try- before he could finish his sentence his wrist com goes off. Numi-What is it?, Nagate-I'm being deployed. Numi-what oh man. Nagate-All be back after the mission I think we might be getting somewhere with this. Yuri-Ok, just be careful on your mission.
Nagate-I will. He then heads for the hanger and quickly changes, while walking he notices that his mech has a Kabizashi in its hands and asks why it has one. Mr. Sei walks to him saying you're our lancer with nagate surprised he's there. Mr. Sei-All be joining your squad, go easy on me ok squad leader. Nagate-Wait I'm the squad leader? Mr. Sei-What's wrong? Nagate-Nothing it would be my honor.
He shakes Mr. Sei hand then a news team takes a photo of them for their report saying pilot Tankikaze promoted to squad leader, expected to be key in future operations. Eventually time goes by as a new squad leader nagate succeeds in many operations to kill the gauna and while he fights the gauna he would visit the erd to talk with the ena and figure out how to get back to his universe, while that's going on izana and yuhata worry about his current state of being. Yuhata-This is not good.
Izana-Yeah, Yuhata- I think nagate might be to focused on that ena. Izana-Yeah, Yuhata-Come on get it together izana he only listens to you. You can tell him not to get to involved as his guy friend. Izana-Ah well as the probationary sub commander can't you do something about it a pilots cytologic wellbeing is part of your responsibility isn't it? Yuhata- The extraterritorial research division is full of secrets and the research that was conducted on the gauna 490 ena specimen was given the highest priority, its really difficult to ignore their commands. Izana-I see, I just don't want to see nagate be hurt. He said after we defeat the gauna he's going to leave Sidonia. Yuhata sarcastically says Leave Sidonia where will he go another galaxy? Then izana frustratedly says Yuhata he just wants to go back home. Yuhata-But how though there's no other way to get back to his universe.
Izana-Then we need to do everything we can to support him, but I feel like he needs a break from it if there was only something we could do to keep his mind off of things when he's not at the research lab or his home. Yuhata-Keep his mind off it huh. While they discuss ideas nagate is at the research station watching ena hoshijiro making weird noises while he goes through his journal then asks numi if a gauna not only recreated a person's form but also their complete personality and memories what would be the difference between that and the original person.
Numi-Well to be perfectly honest from the scientific point of view I would be hard-pressed to admit there was a difference, but as a member of Sidonia I could never bring my self to ack knowledge it or except it. Nagate-Yeah of course. Numi-Why did ask? Nagate-Before the battle of the chained gauna hoshijiro said she need to talk about one of the draws I drew from my dream. Numi-Which one? Nagate flips to the page of the crystal objects he drew and says it's this one she said she knew what it was but never got to tell me. Numi-I'm sorry that you never got to. Nagate-Its ok all figure it out on my own but that will take time until I know how to get back., Numi- I see.
Nagate smiles then continues looking through his journal then looks up smiling at the ena until it looks at him and dos something different. Nagate-Numi hoshijiro is, I mean hoshijiro ena is ah take a look at this. Isn't this the first time she's done this? Numi-WOW. Nagate- She's standing on the floor. He gets up to point at it while saying does this mean then the ena points at him making numi say nagate look, he turns his head to see it point to his finger making him react then the ena reacts the same way he dos. Mins later numi explains that even thought it looks and sound like hoshijiro when she was still alive technically it's nothing than just a piece of gauna. Nagate-I know but if it contains hoshijiro's memories maybe I can get it to remember what hoshijiro was going to tell me after the that mission. Numi-
Maybe but that's only if the memory there and we have no way of knowing how deep it could be. Nagate begins to leave then says I understand but I won't give up because I need to get home, then leaves. He roams the hallways for a bit sad and thinking of what he experienced then hears yuhata calling his name. Yuhata-Nagate there's something I want to talk to you about. Nagate-What is it? Yuhata-Well the thing is its only for one day, but I managed to get a day off the same day as yours. Nagate-Ok. Yuhata-Id figured since we've been in combat a lot lately that ah well. Nagate-Yeah.
Yuhata- It's important that we keep our minds off of it. Nagate-What did you have in mind. Yuhata smiles and then explains what she wants to do, mins later he heads for his dorm and is surprised to see izana waiting there. Izana-Nagate. Nagate- Oh Izana what are you doing here? Izana-I wanted to talk to you about something. Nagate-What is it ? Izana-Do you want to take a trip on your next day off. You've been deployed so much lately so I thought maybe we could do something fun together. I think its important to get your mind off it. Nagate-It sounds like fun but yuhata already ask me the same thing and I agreed to go with her. Izana-Oh I see then. Izana looks down with sadness then nagate take her hand and says why don't you come with us. Izana-Are you shore that's ok wont I get in the way.
Nagate-Of course not izana you're my friend and I like it if both of you where there since you and yuhata are the only friends I have on Sidonia. Izana smiles then says ok all be there, see you tomorrow then. Nagate-See you tomorrow, izana hugs him then wonders off for the night skipping away then nagate heads for his room to think.
