By morning nagate, yuhata and izana are walking to the place yuhata had originally plan for just her and nagate with their bags on, while walking izana ask are you shore there's a nice inn around here. Yuhata-It's a really nice hole in the wall you won't find it in any of Sidonia's tour guidebooks. Izana-Maybe its because nobody goes there. Yuhata-Anyways I don't remember actually inviting you to come along with us. And could those sandals of your make any more noise? Izana-Nagate kindly invited me to come along but id figure you be like this and since you had great idea we decided to go along with your idea. Nagate watches them arguing and in his mind saying what have I done then says come on you guys I invited you both so we could have a good time together.
They get angry then they both turn around with izana saying this is your fault for inviting me to go along with her instead of it being just us can't wait to get to this luxury hotel. Yuhata- You'll regret that you said that. Nagate looks away while saying Sorry it's just I thought we could have a good time since you guys are the only friends, I have on Sidonia then walks past them. Yuhata and izana settle down a bit then look at each other nod and then with nagates surprise they both grab on to his arms. Izana-Were sorry nagate.
Yuhata-We didn't mean to be like that it just well with what's going on... nagate holds their hands and says its ok, we all have our days lets just have a good time together but promise you two won't fight on the rest of the trip. In unison they say I promise making nagate smile then they all start walking again. While they do nagate notices a scare near izana neck and asks what happen to your neck it looks like it was cut. Izana replies with its ok I was moving something at home and one of the boxes got me all be ok. After izana finishes speaking she turns quickly and rushes off making nagate wonder then goes to yuhata. Nagate-What's up with izana? Yuhata-What do mean izana seems find why? Nagate-Ever since the incident I was shot izana seems different. Yuhata-Different how? Nagate looks towards izana and says I don't know just different somehow, then starts to follow her and yuhata following behind him while they walk nagate ask yuhata how Yamano is doing?
Yuhata-I heard she's doing better her brother been taking her to therapy and to exercise occasionally. Nagate-That's good I need to pay her a visit sometime to say hi. Yuhata-I think shed apricate that. Nagate-Yeah, Mins later they arrive at their destination, and they aren't impressed with the way it looks and the crows around it then Izana says well they certainly wouldn't list this in any sidonian tour guidebook, making yuhata drop her bag. Izana-Aren't you going in? Yuhata-After you nagate. Nagate-Ah what why me? Yuhata-Because you're the tallest one of us all and braver. Nagate-Ug fine. He goes up and opens the sliding door to see a woman walking in a Yukata Kimono dress then recognizes who it is and makes an upset face.
Woman-You've traveled a long way friends. I'm Tanaka owner of this gravity inn. yuhata-Reservation under midorikawa thanks for having us. Nagate-Yeah thank you. Tanaka-All take you to your room now. When they reach their room yuhata and izana are impressed, a nice open room with a view of a lake. Izana-It's an amazing view and the lake is really pretty to look at. Yuhata-Sounds like you like the place. Izana-Ah well I mean I guess its really just a big puddle. Nagate sets his stuff down then begins to leave when yuhata asks where are you going? Nagate says just to speak with owner I want to ask about the bath house then leaves making izana and yuhata look at each other with questionable look then decide to see what he's up to.
They follow him close behind to the front entrance and manage to hide in a nearby room to overhear him. Nagate quickly turns around to make shore nobody's there then goes to Kobayashi in disguise. Nagate-Mom what's going on why are you here didn't you say someone could hurt me if they found out we were family. Kobayashi-I'm sorry son but I had to come see you in person like this there's something we need to test and you're the most qualified.
Nagate-Let me get this straight you came down here just so you can tell me that you want me to test something. What's going on mom I only see you when you need me for something, and you never bothered to come see me after what happened to hoshijiro, I want the truth. Kobayashi-I can't tell you that now but when the right time comes, I will tell you everything I promise. Nagate-That's what you said last time how many times are you going to keep saying that. All do the test but promise you'll try to come and see me more often. Kobayashi-I can't guarantee that promise. Nagate replies with that's what I thought then storms off rushing past izana and yuhata, while the captain goes off to plan her next move yuhata and izana talk about what they heard. Yuhata-The captain is nagates mom. Izana-It looks that way. Yuhata-Why would he keep something like that from us.
Izana-Maybe it's to protect him from bad people. Yuhata-Maybe but that's not what worries me? Izana-What worries you then? Yuhata-Its nagate relationship with his mom it seems they don't get along. Izana-Maybe that's just how things were between them before he crossed over. Yuhata-I don't think so come on let's go talk to him maybe we can find out more. Izana-Yeah but let's be careful about it. Yuhata-ok. They both manage to sneak out of the room and head back to their room upon arriving they see nagate by the railing looking at a picture. Yuhata-You ok nagate what are you looking at? Nagate-I'm ok, I'm just looking at a picture. Izana-What is it? Nagate hands her the photo and when she looks at it, she doesn't recognize anybody. Izana-Who is this in the photo? Nagate-That's me with my mother when I was young. Yuhata-That's you ahh you look so adorable. Nagate-Yeah, I was. Izana-Your mom looks happy with you. Nagate takes the photo and says yeah but that was a long time ago then heads for his bag. Yuhata goes to speak to him but izana stops her then whispers let's wait to talk to him about what we heard. Yuhata-Why? Izana-Look at him yuhata he's already upset about what happened earlier lets just give him time.
Yuhata-I believe I can help with that hey nagate come to the table I think I have an idea of what we can do. Nagate-Ok. They all sit around the table at once then yuhata pulls out a book then izana says What is that book it doesn't look fun at all. Yuhata-It's a book about all the mysteries around Sidonia. Izana-Yes obviously I can see that, izana takes the book and begins reading the pages. Izana-A voice form the beyond, a face in the ceiling, the mystery of the immortal ship council. Yuhata-Look at page 139. Izana-Sidonian year 904 after the 4th gauna war a certain high ranking council member was executed, only a privileged few new the executed man was the heretic scientist Ochiai. Nagate-Ochiai are you shore. Yuhata-What is it do you know something about him? Nagate-Maybe, the person that brought me in to see the captain from the police station was named Ochiai, but it must be a different person named that. Like izana said the scientist Ochiai was executed many years ago. Yuhata- yeah, your right.
Izana-At the time the scientist Ochiai was conducting currently outlawed experiments on gauna Ena's and while that was going on he discovered a ship made of pure energy and begun experiments on it to. Nagate-He was doing what that's just messed up wait did it say he found a ship made of pure energy. Izana-I did. One of the most horrifying experiments that is known was a human and monster experiment that had... Yuhata-I think that's enough anyways I used the upper-level clearance terminals to find out to one of the Ochiai's abandoned research facility is at the base of this lake. Nagate-What?, Izana-Hold on now this conversation is going somewhere I don't like. Yuhata-And this here is the key to the passage that leads to that research facility. Nagate-Well what are we waiting for let's go then. Nagate and yuhata begin to get up but Izana begins to say Hold on a second are we really shore we should be doing this then yuhata says don't worry were just going to explore what could possibly happen then they leave making izana frightened a bit.
Mins later they all board a boat to get across a lake and arrive at a flight of stairs, once they reach the top they come across a giant door. Izana begins to say Hey let's turn back, I mean there's no way that will only need that key to ah…yuhata inserts the key then turns it making nagate say it opened. Izana-What?, Yuhata-I had to go through a lot to get my hands on this key you know. The door opens and they all see pitch black in the hallway, while they look nagate charges up his blaster making yuhata ask Did you really have to bring that? Nagate-You haven't seen any horror movies, have you? Yuhata-No what dos that have to with what were doing?
Nagate- Were going to look for an abandon creepy research faculty, we have no idea where were going or what will find inside the faculty once were there so its best, we go prepared just in case. Yuhata replies with fair point then proceeds forward with nagate and izana following behind. Once through the door closes behind them making it hard for them to see then izana gets scared from something bumping into her and starts to hit what she bumped nagate tries to tell her that it was him but izana doesn't hear him and keeps hitting him until they hear a loud thunk. Yuhata pulls out a flashlight and says izana would you calm down already and what was that loud noise.
Izana-I don't know I was too busy hitting what bumped into me. They then both look down to see nagate unconscious on the ground with his eyes spinning then yuhata say way to go izana you just knocked out our only protection. Izana-I didn't mean to all try to wake him up. Can we get back out the way we came? Yuhata look at the door but finds nothing and says no I think it can only be opened from the other side. Izana-What? Yuhata-It seem like the lights are broken as well. Izana-I'm not getting a signal we can't call for help. Yuhata-Nothing we can do about that now let's look for another exit or an emergency phone. Izana-Whattt? Yuhata-In the meantime all hold onto his blaster so it doesn't fall out and you carry him. Izana-Why me? Yuhata-Because you're the one that knocked him out.
Izana-Ok you have a point there at least help me get him up. Yuhata-I'm on it. She helps izana put nagate on her back so she could carry him then proceeds on, while they walk yuhata checks out nagate blaster making izana ask are you shore you should be messing around with that nagate could get mad at you if you break it. Yuhata replies relax izana I'm not going to break it and besides it's not like it's going to shoot lasers, or anything then she accidently pulls the trigger and shoots a laser at the wall leaving a big hole in it surprising both of them. Yuhata-I should probably put this back on him.
Izana-Good idea. She puts the blaster back on nagates right leg then continues to search for a way out. While they walk nagate wakes up for a few mins to see izana carrying him then says izana. Izana replies Nagate you're awake thank goodness are you… she tries to finish her sentence but nagate sniffs her making izana jump a bit and says you smell sweet just like you did when we were in the forest then falls asleep making izana wonder what he's talking about. They keep walking for a bit longer until yuhata stops and says I have no idea were going then nagate wakes up saying izana, yuhata, where are we?
Izana-Apparently lost yuhata doesn't know where we are. Nagate looks around and says I can see that then gets off of izana and wabbles a bit. Yuhata-You ok izana, hit you pretty hard. Izana-YUHUTA. Nagate-Its ok izana I'm not mad. Izana-You're not mad? Nagate-No. Yuhata-Why aren't you mad at her, is it because you like her or something. Nagate face turns bright red then begins to say no its nothing like that I just didn't want us to fight is all making izana make a grumpy face then nagate leans up against the wall with his right hand and a passage opens up. Yuhata-No way it's a secret entrance how lucky are you to find it. Izana-Lucky, I guess. While they talk nagate pulls out his pistol and flashlight then points it at the entrance. Yuhata-Is something wrong nagate? Nagate-You don't just find a secret passage in the middle of nowhere by accident. Yuhata-Fair point. He looks through the entrance to see a slide going down then says looks safe enough all go first. Yuhata-Why you? Nagate replies with because I'm the tallest and bravest just like said then jumps down the slide leaving yuhata with a grumpy face then izana says come on let's go and jump down then yuhata says wait for me and jumps down after them.
Nagate slides through dozens of areas until it comes up to a jump and he ends up landing on a dusty mattress then begins to sneeze while saying oh dang it I forgot dust makes me sneeze. While he sneezes nagate hears screaming coming from the tube then sees izana come flying in landing on him. Nagate-Ow that hurt. Izana-Yeah, I'm defiantly going to feel that in the morning. Nagate-That's my line. Izana lifts her head then nagate says well this feels familiar. Izana-Yeah. They lay there both eyes locked on each other only a few inches away until, yuhata comes flying in then says wow that was fun you guys ok. She looks to see them both siting from each other then nagate while blushing says were ok the jump just took me by surprise.
Izana replies with yeah it was a bit scary then looks at him. Yuhata makes a fishy look then says ok then turn on her flashlight and begins to roam around the room. While she dos nagate helps izana up a and as soon as their up they hear yuhata drop her flashlight. He turns around seeing her shake while pointing and says n,n,n,nagate. He asks what's the matter then izana turns around saying ah nagate look behind you. Nagate turns around and sees something under a tarp making him shocked bit then say it can't be. He steps forward grabs the tarp and pulls it off revealing an energy-based ship. While looking at it images of the ship flash before his eyes then says it's a drej stinker.
Yuhata- Drej you mean the race that destroyed your earth. Nagate replies with yeah, their dangerous beings not to be messed with. This is what the book must have been talking about an energy base ship. Izana-But what's it doing here? Nagate- Let's find out. They begin searching the lab to find anything that was left behind but find nothing until yuhata stumbles upon a desk fill with paper. Yuhata- Hey guys come take a look at this. Izana-What is it? They come to a desk to see blueprints and plans of different thinks until something catches nagates eye and picks it up. Yuhata-What is it nagate? Nagate-Take a look at this? Yuhata-What is this?
Nagate-Its look like a blueprint called project black guard an advanced guard with shields and stronger weapons. Yuhata-Its must have been something Ochiai was working on it no wonder it wasn't put into production this thing is scary. Nagate-That's not what scares me the most. Yuhata-What do you mean? Nagate pulls down another blueprint with a ship on it that terrifies him Yuhata-What in the world what is this? Nagate finds a file of it and reads its call project trinity it was meant to combine sidonian technology and a gaunas ena to create a ship with an organic hull, but the project was scrapped because they could never figure out how to create the ena for the organic hull.
Izana-That's a relief. Nagate replies with maybe then turns around and starts to walk towards the drej ship and says if Ochiai had figured out how to adapt that technology from this ship then who knows what could have happened to Sidonia. He then reaches out to it and before he could touch it a surge of energy comes out of it and shocks him in his left arm making him scream in pain then is sent flying into the wall knocking him out. Yuhata and izana go to him while screaming his name. Yuhata-NAGATE, Izana-Nagate wake up please not again. Nagate says izana then passes out. Yuhata- Come on lets gets out of here this place is starting to give me the creeps. Izana-Yeah but how do we get out of here. Yuhata begins to look around then finds an entrance and says this way. Izana-Any idea where it goes? Yuhata-No buts it got to be better than here. Izana-True. Help me get him up then grab those papers they may come in handy. Yuhata-copy that. She helps izana lift nagate up and put him back her back then yuhata grabs the files and sticks it in nagates bag. As they are about leave yuhata says wait then grabs nagate pistol and turns around to shoot the drej stinker destroying it. Izana-What did you do that for? Yuhata-I did that so nobody can us that technology against Sidonia and you heard nagate they destroyed his world we shouldn't use technology from a race that killed his people. Izana-yeah.
Yuhata then takes out her flashlight and holds it with the gun then goes down the path with izana following behind holding nagate. They walk for miles until they come across a harbor with a boat, they carefully get into it with nagate and head back towards inn. Once arriving they head for their room and lay him down on the floor. Izana asks What do we do now then yuhata pulls out a computer and plugs it into nagate robot arm. Izana-What are you doing? yuhata-
Checking to make shore that energy didn't do anything to the virus in his arm. Izana-Wait what virus? Yuhata-Nagate has a virus in his arm, and he thinks someone uploaded it to corrupt his memories. Izana-Corrupt his memories who would do such a terrible thing and why would he only tell you. yuhata-Because he asked me to keep this quiet, and I've been trying to come up with a way to get rid of it. I've run simulations of different scenarios but nothing in the world can rid of it and… Izana-And what? yuhata-This can't be right the virus it completely gone. Izana-I thought you said nothing in the world could get rid of it?
yuhata-There isn't that virus was embedded deep within his arms systems it would have taken me longer to find a way, the drej ship. Izana-What about it? yuhata-When it zapped him it must have destroyed the virus completely. Izana-Then why isn't he waking up? yuhata lifts nagates arm then replies with It looks like his memories are almost done resetting but not all of them. Izana-Will he be, ok? Yuhata-I don't know will just have to wait until its completely done. For now, let's just let him rest. Nagate-There's no need I'm ok. Yuhata-Nagate, Izana-Your awake thank goodness. He gets up sits against the wall and then says I guess so. Izana ask if they can get him anything, but he says no then yuhata says hey nagate we wanted to say I know it's a bad time but we overheard you talking with the captain, and we were wondering if she really is your… before she could finish her sentence nagate cuts her off saying angrily she isn't my mother.
She's the one that tried to change my memories. Izana-Then the reason why you kept calling her mom was because of that virus? Nagate says Yes since my memories were suppressed the captain made me believe she was my mom, but I knew something was up then he takes out the picture again and says but my mom isn't anything like your captain she cared about me and always looked out for others plus she didn't have long hair the last time I saw her. Yuhata-I understand. So, the reason why you want to go back is so you can find your real mom? Nagate-That's one of them but the real reason is I'm trying to find my mom's ship. Izana-What's so special about finding your mom's ship?
Nagate-All I know is it can find humanity a new home and reunite them. Izana-Reunite the human race that doesn't sound possible. Nagate-I know but it was something someone told me after they found me on tau 14. Yuhata- What's tau 14? Nagate-It's a salvage station I grew up on with my friend after earth was…yuhata-I understand. Nagate-yeah. All explain more another time for now I'm going to go take a bath. yuhata-Can we come along? Nagate-Shore I just need some time to process this. Yuhata-Ok. He grabs a pair of fresh cloths, a towel and before they leave, he asks them promise you won't tell anybody about this especially the captain? In unison they say we promise then nagate says thank you then they head for the bath. Once there he gets in one end while yuhata and izana get on the other then they talk among them self's while nagate sits in a corner and starts to recall his memories on the day, he lost everything.
Flashback May 30,3028 A.D pierce Colorado (Nagate is in the forest with izana testing their invention near a river he presses some buttons on it and it begins to spin in the water. They cheer in excitement then he picks izana up and spins her around then after setting her down they look at each other eyes locked then a muffled boom shocks the woods making the squirrels and birds flee then the wind picks up making the stream turn violent and start to carry their invention downstream, making it break its bottom on two rocks. As they chase their invention nagate trips over a tree stump making him fall over then he sees his mom over him asking him if he's ok.
Nagate replies with I'm ok then she hands them their invention she recovered up shore. Nagate-Mom our invention broke. Kobayashi-Well then all help you two fix it but not today nagate we have to do now. She lifts nagate up with izana by their side then proceeds up a flight of hills. Once at the top a squadron of v/stol aircraft flies over them towards the pierce spaceport, where the entire population of pierce was boarding the space liners now being used as evacuation ships and taking off for places unknown. Puzzled as to why there weren't any space liners coming in nagate asks mom where's everyone going? Kobayashi says Were leaving to. We all have to go somewhere safe then in the distance she hears someone calling her name on a hover jeep.
She looks to see Hiyama on it saying the drej have rigged the global defense system. Kobayashi brings nagate and izana on board the vehicle then asks will we get the people away in time? Yuri-Not if we sit here talking mam. Nagate-I wanna drive. Yuri-When your older kid. Nagate-I'm older then 4. Hiyama laughs then Yuri says hang on and heads towards the port. While heading towards the port nagate sees a group of longbow fighters flying over him while izana watches the civilians board the ships then Kobayashi asks is the titan prepped for launch? Hiyama-Just waiting for you mam. Yuri-Intelligence says the drej don't know the titan's location or it would have been hit already. Kobayashi-Lets prey their right. They then arrive at their evac ship called guardian with nagate getting off asking Are we all going in that wow.
Kobayashi-Nagate I have to go in a different ship, I have to go away for a while. Nagate-No mom no. Kobayashi-Lala is going to look after you two. Nagate-But I wanna go with you. Kobayashi-I know but it's not safe where I'm going. Nagate-I don't care. Kobayashi responds to a person calling her name then she takes off her ring and says nagate here take this as long as you wear it there's hope then she picks him up kiss's him on the cheek and says I will see you again I promise. Nagate-ok. She hands nagate over to Hiyama with izana after she had said goodbye to her mom and as they are boarding nagate begins to cry saying no its not ok, it's not ok mommy. Come back. She tells Hiyama to keep them safe then tells Yuri to head to the titan hanger upon arriving Yuri drops her off saying God speed Kobayashi then heads for her evac ship Kobayashi runs into the hanger ordering the crew to bring her down to the hanger.
While she preps for takeoff on the guardian nagate straps in with izana then the ship takes off, Hiyama motions everyone to look out the starboard side to see a hexagon shaped hole open up in the field below her next to a barn. While that's going on the drej destroy dozens of ships fleeing the planet then the queen orders her fighters back and says destroy the humans destroy them all. The queen has her ship moved above the planet near the north pole then fires a Kinect energy beam sending energy to the south pole heating the magma within the planet. While its dos dozens more ships flee the planet including titan as it breaks through the hanger doors and launches into space before the first energy wave hits. Only nagate and izana watch the titan as it passes by the guardian then see it activate its hyperdrive and disappear into the depths of space in the blink of an eye.
They then turn back along with occupants that are on board to see other evacuation ships managing to leave at the last-minute watch in horror as the drej energy speeds up the earths rotation making the oceans turn red and the cities go dark then seconds later the earth explodes into billions of pieces going in all directions taking out some of the evacuations ships that tried to leave earth at the last second. On the guardian nagate holds on tight while it takes evasive maneuvers to avoid getting hit by the asteroids then izana holds onto him crying and says I'm scared then nagate hold on to hers and says its ok izana were going to be ok then cries with her. They hold each other for a while until the guardian clears the debris then leaves the soler system along with other ships then izana ask what do we do now? Nagate replies with I don't know; I just don't know then gazes out the window still holding her.)
End of flash back). Yuhata-Why did you come into the mixed bath to izana? There's also an intersex men's bath you know. Izana replies with hey you… then nagate says Can you two not argue please. Izana-Sorry nagate. Anyways what will we do if other people come in? yuhata- It'll be fine, I don't think there are any other customers at the inn today. Izana-that may be so but… yuhata-Don't worry about it izana will be ok right nagate? Nagate replies yeah, I guess so then yuhata looks at him with a concern look then winks at izana and dives under making izana surprised. Yuhata pops up behind nagate making izana get up and ask what do think you're doing? yuhata-Just getting a little closer to nagate to comfort him. Izana-That's doesn't mean you have to…! Yuhata-Izana, are you sure you don't mind? Izana-Huh.
Yuhata-Standing around like that? Izana looks down to see she's out of the water exposing her naked body then her face turns bright red then quickly hides in the water with yuhata saying my such a rowdy person. Yuhata laughs a bit then nagate gets up goes to izana and reaches out his hand to izana saying izana come here. Izana-Why you going to make fun of the way I am? Nagate-I'm not izana I would never do that to you. Izana looks up surprised then takes his hand and goes to him then nagate hugs izana making her face turn red when her body touches his then hugs him back making yuhata jealous. After watching them she then gets out and says I'm going to head back to our room its getting late. Nagate-Are you shore you can stay for a bit longer. Yuhata-I'm shore I don't want to get in between you two then grabs her towel and heads out. Nagate-I wonder what's up with her? Izana-I think I know. But she is right its getting late we should head back. Nagate-Yeah. They get out of the bath, grab their towels and head for the locker room to change into their pajamas and when they arrive at their room, they see yuhata is already in bed then they lay down in theirs. While they lay down izana says hey nagate? Nagate-What's up? Izana-What was it like on earth? Nagate-It was beautiful as I can remember it.
When I was little my mom would always take me out at night to watch the stars near a beach and sometimes, we would walk along the shoreline getting out feet all wet and sandy. Izana-That's amazing. Nagate replies yeah it was then he clenches up a bit, izana rolls over to face him and says hey you'll find your real mom I know you will. Nagate-You really think so? Izana puts her hand over his and says I know so. Nagate smiles hold her hand and says thanks izana you're a good friend then closes his eyes to go to sleep and izana says yeah friends then she closes her eyes to go to sleep. By the middle of the night nagate wakes up to find himself in dark room dressed and with a person standing in front of him. Nagate-What the where am I, izana, yuhata? Yuri-Their both still asleep there's no need to worry about them. I'm Yuri shinatose izana is my grandchild. Nagate-What, don't you mean daughter? Yuri-No she is not what made you think that? Nagate-Because where I'm from izana is your daughter.
Yuri-I see. My izana doesn't know what I am please don't tell her. Nagate-huh, Yuri- I have something here I want to show you I'm going to turn on the light please don't be alarmed. The lights come on blinding nagate then he sees something in a gigantic tube that scares him. Nagate asks what is this a gauna? Then the captain comes in saying no it's not a gauna. This is an Ena and human hybrid a certain scientist brought in to the world. Yuri-This hybrid is already dead, but it emits a radiation just like the kabi drawing the gauna to Sidonia. Nagate-What? Captain-However at the same time by using the hybrids shell as a core we were able to successfully create man made kabi. Nagate-Man made kabi? Captain-That's right we've created the means to destroy the gauna our self's. Nagate- And lets me guess this is the weapon you want me to test? Captain-Yes, toha heavy industries is developing a new weapon that will us these manmade kabi and you will be the first to test it.
As she finishes speaking, she hears something powerup then turns to see nagate pointing his blast at her with Yuri shocked and then he says you're not my mother. Captain-Nagate put that away of course I'm your mother what making you think I'm not? Nagate-Because of the way your acting you keep sending me on constant missions, only seeing me when you need something and never visiting me my real mother would never do that. Captain- I'm sorry nagate but things have changed since the last time we saw each other but I promise you I am your mother. Nagate-If your really my mother then what did you promise me before earth was destroyed by the drej. Captain-I promised that we would see each other again. Surprised at what she said nagate powers down his blaster and puts it back in his holster then says alright all do the test but if I find out your not really my mother, I won't hesitate to pull the trigger next time. After speaking he heads back to his room and after walking by, she makes a frightened face. By the time he gets back its already morning and yuhata and izana wake up to see him by the railing. Izana asks if everything is all right and nagate replies with I'm fine let's just hurry up and get ready to leave I think I've had enough of this place. Izana looks at him with a confused look then gets up to go change so dos yuhata and once finished they all head back to the dorms.
While they do other events are going on around Sidonia, at the research center numi is telling Yumi that ena hoshijiro would follow the guards that have the Kabizashis equip to them. Yumi-So the ena hoshijiro can sense the Kabizashi. Numi-There's no other explanation I can think of. Yumi-Numi I'm classifying this as top-level confidential information be carful who you share it with. Numi-I understand. As she hangs up the phone numi sees the ena doing something with its finger then notice its drawing and is surprised at what its drawing. Elsewhere Kunato is going through his family library to discover similar research nagate found.

Mozuku-To be honest I do not know even the members of the Kunato family are not allowed to enter, Kunato makes a curios look then leaves with mozuku. Back with nagate they are halfway back when they come across a street full of vendor. They look around and see lots of people trying to sell different merchandise and go in different directions until izana comes across a table with different types of necklaces and starts to look at them until one catches her eye. Izana replies with no its ok then leaves the stand with nagate watching.
As he watches izana go to a different stand he goes to the one that has the necklaces then the clerk says hello their young man are you interested in looking for a nice necklace for yourself? Nagate looks at the clerk then picks up the necklace izana was looking at then the clerk says ahh looking to get it for your friend? Nagate replies with you could say that what would you trade for this? Clerk-To trade ah well if you have anything rare or fine pieces of material for crafting that would be ok. Nagate pulls down his bag to look through it but finds nothing to trade then he looks at artificial arm and pulls off a piece of the armor and says how about this it was made from an asteroid that had strong iron you could us it for your pieces. The clerk takes it looks at it and says I think this will do well you've got yourself a deal. The clerk puts the necklace in a case and hands it to nagate, as he's leaving the clerk says she must be something special to you if you willing to give up a piece of your arm. Nagate responds with she is then puts the necklace in his bag and catches up with his friends. They eventually reach the end of the valley and by the time they arrive at the dorms it already night, as they head for the dorms yuhata says see you guys later then goes for her room before they could say bye.
After nagate and izana change they head for the mess hall to eat then see the news is on with a ship leaving. News lady-As you can see the anti-military activists advanced party colony ship has just left Sidonia a combination of technicians, scientist and experts chosen from the one hundred thousand anti-military activists. Izana-They don't have a single weapon what are they going to do if they get attacked by the gauna? Hiyama-They believe that the gauna wont attack them if they haven't armed themselves. Nagate-They must be betting a lot if they believe that. Hiyama-Most of them have lost faith that Sidonia can no longer protect them. Nagate-But they shouldn't come to terms with that so quickly.
Izana-I guess some people don't believe in that anymore. They look down with sadness then Hiyama says hey don't be sad at least not all of Sidonia went along with it. Nagate begins to get up and says true but how long before all of Sidonia decides to make the same decision then heads for his dorm. Hiyama-He seems quit down a bit since coming back from your trip. Izana-you could say that. I'm going to head to bed to have a good night . -Good night izana. She goes to her dorm changes then gets in her bed and tries to sleep but can't and starts to think. So, this must be the rumored Tankikaze I'm Shinsuke Tanba. Sasaki-Oh you're here I'm Sasaki. Nagate-huh. Yuhata-But aren't you the guard mechanic? Sasaki-Yeah, I do that too good to work with you. In unison they say good to work with you to then she leads them to a hanger to show them what toha heavy industries is developing and they are impressed. yuhata-It's a amazing. Sasaki-It's a guard's rear unit it's a protype for the next generation models the aim is to make the guards more compact. And this is the new weapon you'll be testing. Nagate looks at weapon then recognizes it and says WOW no way is this a super high speed ballistic acceleration device. Sasaki-Huh, Tanba-And how did you know that? Nagate-When I was young my mom was developing something like this for fighters to defend earth and I would get to use it in the virtual training console, but she had never finished it because she was building something else at the time. Nagate-Sasaki can the rear unit be used right now? If we use the new weapon, we might be able to save the colony group. Sasaki-We can't it's not ready it hasn't been tested. Tanba-Now hold on. The training device for the new weapon was actually constructed based on old blueprint that oddly enough turned up right after nagate first arrived. It quite possible that nagate is telling the truth. Sasaki-What's that you mean its true? They all disband going to designated areas, nagate changes quickly then sits in his guard as it is being brought to one of the secondary hangers to equip the engine and weapon, once done it is then brought the launch tube and launches. Yuhata arrives at the bridge asking to have all details on the main screen, while that's going in the captain's head, she is saying it would have been more effective to make an example of the anti-military activists and leave them on their own. Nagate he's beginning to act like how Hiroki was, will you turn against me one day as well even though we are not family. But I will listen this time so history wont repat itself. Elsewhere the pilots are watching what's going on than Mr. Sei says a gauna core piercing round and super high speed ballistic acceleration device. Ren-A composite round combing mass substance and manmade kabi. Mr. Sei-The physical energy of the impact will blow away the ena and the manmade kabi will penetrate the core.
Tsuruuchi-Are you series? Mr. Sei-The kabi are fired as ammunition rounds so that means their expendable. Samari-But looking at the situation I don't think nagate is going to make it in time. Nagate overhears the crew saying he won't make it then gets angry and fires ah shot it zooms towards the gauna at incredible speed, but the recoil throws him off course and the shot misses the gauna core impacting at its front. Samari-He's firing from out of range, Crew-Nagate is decelerating the recoil thrown him off course. Mr. Sei-He shouldn't even be able to pilot it. It's a miracle he made it this far with out a stabilizing system. Samari says there now way he going to make it, but nagate proves her wrong and uses all his strength to straighten the guard then gets a target lock on the gaunas core and fires, the shell penetrates the core making the gauna disintegrate and save the colony ship. The whole crew cheer for his victory with Mr. Sei saying he defeated a gauna without ah Kabizashi this is going to change everything then Tsuruuchi pushes a button on the monitor and says hey way to go nagate lets have a drink to celebrate then the monitor says unable to communicate pilot had turned off communication with crew ready room. Tsuruuchi-Why would he do that?
Mr. Sei-I'm not shore. Ren-I think it's because how everyone treated him after the chained gauna battle. Samari-I see well you may have to do something about that then. Ren-Your right. As soon as nagate gets back to the hanger ren tries to go talk to him but before she could say anything nagate floats past her ignoring her on his way to changing room making her feel sad then nagate heads for erd after being summoned by them. While he heads there izana tries to call him, but he doesn't reply and says why can't I get through to him I bet he just at the erd again stupid nagate then her wrist com goes off saying assembly command station. While she heads out nagate arrives at the erd and is surprised at what the ena did to it self-changing its outer skin into a dress.
Numi-It's been wanting to show it off to you go ahead why don't you try saying something to it. Nagate-oh um it looks good on you. The ena smiles then uses its tentacles to grab a marker numi gave it and tries to write nagates name but accidently breaks the marker making it sad, Nagate makes a happy chuckle then sees something she drew. Nagate-What's this? Numi-It's something she drew the other day, but I have no idea what is though. Nagate looks at closer then recognizes what it is and says son of a bitch then opens up his journal. Numi-What is it? Nagate-I think the ena is trying show me what hoshijiro was going to tell me before we took off on our mission to take out the chained gauna. Come on where is it…Ah found it.
He goes to the window to show her the drawing he drew of it from his dream then numi says This is what she was going to tell you why? Nagate-I don't know but it might be the key to finding my mom's ship. Numi-What do you mean your moms ship? Realizing what he said nagate said its personnel thing then he puts his journal away and as he's leaving, he says goodbye and heads out the door. While walking nagate cheers at what he discovered then gets an alert on his phone, he looks at it and says izana needs to see me about something. Mins later nagate arrives near a stair way to izana in a black outfit he calls out her name then izana turns to him saying I got promoted to official pilot.
In excitement nagate says really that's great then izana angerly says its nothing to congratulate about then storms off making nagate chase after her saying izana wait. She manages to get away from him and stops by a balcony but nagate is able to keep up with her and while walking to her he asks what's wrong izana? Izana-Are time is counting down to zero faster and faster…even with everything you do nagate pilot survival rates are still low especially on first deployments and I'm not like you. Nagate- Izana I'm sorry I didn't know you felt that way. She then gets angry and says nagate I bet you went to see that ena again. Nagate-I did but there's a reason why though. Izana-What reason could that be you care more about that dam ena than anybody else.
Nagate-That's not true. Izana replies with whatever you probably didn't even mean a single word at the pear then turns around to walk towards the edge of the path with nagate saying No I meant what I hey…Izana wait. She angrily says don't follow me then she loses her footing on the pipe and begins to fall off it screaming but nagate manages to rush over quickly and grab her hand before she could fall any further. Izana looks up making a sad face while tearing up and sees that nagate has the same expression as tears fall from his eyes and land on her cheeks then he says I care about you izana, I care about you more than you can imagine. Surprised at this izana says You really care about me? Nagate smiles then says I do then pulls her up then izana tears up more while kneeling in front of nagate as dos he and says I'm sorry about those things I…before she could finish nagate kiss's her making jump then he says with a smile says its ok I'm not mad at you, then puts his hand on her hand making her smile and tear up more than at the same time they lean in kissing each other announcing their love for each other.
Mins later they hear their wrist coms go off; they look at it to see they are being deployed then nagate say looks like we're getting sent out. Izana-It looks that way. Nagate-Come on we better not keep them waiting. Izana-Wait nagate before we go can you promise me something. Nagate-What is it? Izana asks Can we not tell anybody us. I just don't want mako or anyone to think that…nagate while holding her hand says shore thing making izana smile and hugs him, while in the distance sakiko watches as she calls mako and says We may have a problem mako. Mako-Don't worry I'm well aware of the situation. Sakiko-Understood. On the bridge the crew says its current distance is twenty thousand kilometers and closing fast. The gaunas volume is roughly eight thousand times larger than Sidonia. Yuhata-Ah, that can't be.
