Yuhata-It engulfed an asteroid inside its ena it's going to collide with us. Crew-Gauna five four seven is on a collision course with Sidonia. Yuhata order the crew to display acceleration level then crew dos what she requests and shows on the monitor what angel Sidonia can take to avoid collision. Yuhata-At this rate there should be minimal damage to the residential area. Permission to perform emergency diagonal acceleration at thrust level two. Captain-Granted. In secs Sidonia engines activate making it turn at a diagonal angel making inside of the ship shake.
While that's going on the pilots look at how big the gauna is with samara saying its eight thousand times larger than Sidonia with Tsuruuchi saying I've never seen anything like it then nagate and izana walk into the room to see the monitor then izana says that the gauna then nagate says how can it be that big? Back on the brig the crew says we've separated from gauna five four two trajectory, Yuhata-Stop acceleration cut the thrusters now. Crew-Thrusters offline switching to cruise control. There are no reports of casualties from the residential district. Yuhata replies good then she hears an alert going off the crew says gauna 542 is changing course its return to a collision course with Sidonia. Yuhata-Can't be how can it be so agile. Crew- Were analyzing the internal make up of gauna five four two. Even if we diagonally accelerate a maximum capacity its impossible to escape gauna five four two trajectory. Yuhata-How long until impact? Crew-six hours. Captain-Destroy it along with the asteroid. Yuhata-Understood, were going to us a interplanetary missile prepare to launch. Crew-ah what but according to past combat logs whenever an ipm is used against the gauna its either been evaded right before impact or neutralized with an intercepting attack.
Yuhata-We won't make it if we don't fire. The guards will immobilize it before the impact. Captain permission to us the protype weapon? Captain-Granted equip all dispatching guards with them. Yuhata- understood. Tanba and Sasaki prepare all the guards with the weapon then once done all the guards' launch. Once out samari orders them into clasp formation making a giant circle then speeding off towards the gauna. Samari then says to command This is samari guard clasp formation condition good no issue with current trajectory. Yuhata-This is the bridge to the guard squad this is your mission objective the guards' squads must destroy the asteroid gauna before the ipm make impact. The pilots in unison say affirmative then speed onwards until they pass the ipm then
Mr. Sei-Heads up I just noticed that there's an ipm coming from straight where we are. Male pilot-Yeah and were fighting on an asteroid with gravity. Female pilot-Fighting in gravity with these around that's going to drop our survival rate. Ren-They have updated the recoil control system from before we finally have way to attack them from rang without having to remove their ena first. male pilot-But we haven't trained with them yet. Samari-Everyone concentrate on the mission get ready to decelerate, rotate your unit and prepare your reverse thrusters. Pilots-Affirmative. While the pilots discuss their plan izana shakes at the controls getting nervous then her side screen turns on with nagate appearing on it and asks izana how you holding up? Izana-All be ok just a bit a nervous is all. Nagate-Just stick by my side for now if something happens all protect you. Izana-Ok. Nagate smiles then winks at her making izana blush then turns off his screen. The guard squads arrive at the target and are terrified at what their seeing up close even nagate and izana to then samari says release clasp formation all units enter orbital trajectory The pilots say roger then head towards the surface going to their assigned areas. Yuhata-All squads follow the mission squad one will target the gauna from the front you will act as a decoy squad two head straight for the propulsion core. Pilot-Squad two leader copy.
Samari-Squad one leader copy. Squad one prepare to fire. The guards all move into position lowering their rail guns then samari gives the order and they all fire at the surface of the gauna making the guards shake then they receive word that squad two has begun firing at the gauna's back. Yuhata informs squad one that the frontal ena is changing, izana replies with what then out of nowhere a guard is hit by something and plumets towards the surface crashing into it then dozens of cannons pop out from under and begin to fire at the guards destroying some. Nagate warns samari of incoming heigus cannon fire but samari orders them not break formation but in secs another guard is shot down making izana scared and ren angry. Then nagate yells don't fire concentrate on dogging the shots then Mr. Sei says were sitting ducks up here. Samari quickly says squad one drop down to the surface and dodge the heigus cannon fire. Tsuruuchi-You actually want to drop altitude in this gravity. Samari-It'll be less intense near the surface squad one follow me.
All the units follow her down then she says squad one remove gun barrel extensions, most of the units remove their barrels but some aren't able to and causes them to crash into one another then into the gaunas surface. Yuhata requests the status of squad two, the crew say that seventy percent of the ena is destroyed then after the squad two leader say were almost there he sees a flash from within it then his feed goes out. Yuhata sees the rest of squad two units' signals going out then the crew says one core has separated from within the gauna pod. Yuhata sees from the feed that's it's the crimson hawk moth wiping out the rest of squad two yuhata order them to fall back but by then its to late all of squad two had been destroyed.
By then word had been sent to squad one about what happened to squad two while they take out the gaunas cannons on surface, samari says squad one to Sidonia core penetration rounds were running low. Tsuruuchi-We can't destroy the core on our own. Crew-squad one is down to fourteen units. Crew-one hour remaining until ipm impact. Yuhata stands there angry at the situation until the captain says continue the mission, yuhata turns to look at her nods then thinks of what to do with what they have left then says prepare the heigus particle cannon. Crew-What? Yuhata-Captain if we focus all of Sidonia's heigus particles onto the target there's a chance we can rip a hole in its ena.
One of the Crew says but if we do that, we won't be to make any course changes if we fail. Besides if we shut down the core system and gravity generator the residential district will… yuhata cuts her off and says it won't matter if we lose Sidonia. Captain-Do it. Yuhata-Affirmative Yuhata then informs squad that Sidonia will fire high energy heigus cannon fire onto the gaunas front surface to make a hole then fly inside it to destroy the host core. The pilots get worried about the decision command made then samari says squad one leader copy we will destroy the host core. Sidonia then begins cycling power through out the district making the lights go out and civilians worried including Kunato, Even the immortal council begins to judge Kobayashi's decision then one of them says prepare our escape pods in case its necessary. Sidonia finishes charging its heigus cannon, then the crew locks on to the front of the gauna and the captain gives the order to fire it.
A massive energy beams fires from the cannon impacting the gauna, the massive beam tears a massive hole in the front of it but in doing so it causes interference with the guards and makes some of them scatter. Even though there's interference yuhata orders the closes guards to begin infiltrating the gauna. Most of the guards manage to get control and head towards the front while some still haven't gained control yet, nagate manages to get his under control and chases after one tumbling away with ren right behind him. Izana guard keeps spinning out of control until she fires her thrusters and regains stability then wonders where nagate is. Nagate manages to catch up to a damaged guards with ren then says to her ren you help get the wounded out of here. Ren-What about you nagate? Nagate-The tsugumori has been re-equipped with a protype heigus engine on the propulsion system, I can make it by myself. Ren-Nagate once again you're the only one with the special toys not fair. Nagate-yeah and that's the reason I fight alone.
Shocked at his response ren say wait nagate I saved one round to avenge hou. I only ask that you avenge her for me. Surprised at what she asks nagate grabs the bullet with his mechs hand then says I promise but this doesn't change anything between us then turn his mech around and heads for gauna leaving ren with sad look. While he heads for the opening izana sees him flying by then quickly follows from behind. Yuhata is informed on the bridge that the signal to the guard squad keep cutting in out then sees the crimson hawk moth following the guards. It destroys one then just as its about to attack samari nagate fires his cannon in between making the crimson hawk moth flee. Nagate pursues it then tells samari don't worry all take care of this go take out the host core. Samari-Don't you can't do it alone. Nagate-Dam it samari go or you lose Sidonia. Samari hesitates at answering then says understood all units proceed into the opening. Pilots-roger.
Half the guards manage to make it through before the ena closes with some of guards crashing into it. Nagate and the crimson hawk moth exchange fire between each then it fires an energy ring at him nearly missing him. Then for a split second he manages to get in close to fire his machine gun and damage the hawk moths ena. He then proceeds to aim his railgun at it to destroy the core, but he doesn't realize the asteroid gauna had spawn cannons bellow him and they begin to fire at him landing a lucky shot knocking him out and plummeting out of control. Yuhata tries to reach him but with no luck and continues to plumet to the surface until a miracle happens. Izana comes speed in yelling his name then manages to reach his mechs hand. She then quickly pulls evasive maneuver to avoid hitting the surface while trying to get nagate to wake up. Yuhata informs izana that her engine will explode if she keeps hanging on to him then izana quickly makes her mech hold on to his then says I don't care I will not let nagate die he's
Sidonia's last hope. Izana manages to gain enough to speed and break away from the gauna. Relief fills yuhata heart for a short min until the crew informs her that the crimson hawk moth is gaining on her, yuhata tries to warn izana but by then it is too late. Its fire a heigus beam at izana separating her from nagate then in secs nagate wakes up to witness what happened and starts to go after izana to save her but the crimson hawk moth flies in front blocking his path, he gets angry then yells Get out of my way and attacks it doing battle once more. While that's going on squad one flies through a narrow passage to get to the host core, but giant tentacle blocks their way. They fire at it only doing minimal damage then Tsuruuchi say dam were running low on penetration rounds. Samari-We need to conserve the rest for the host core switch over to your heigus cannons watch for the tentacles.
Pilots-affirmative. The guards keep going for another mile until Mr. Sei says the host core is beyond that wall it's the last thing in our way then he gets proximity alert, in front he sees giant tentacles coming out he nearly avoids an impact from a guard crashing only to skim the inner wall of gauna causing his engine to sputter. He orders samari to leave him and continue on, she dos what he says and has the rest of the guard's blast at wall until Tsuruuchi say no use my heigus reserves are under ten percent if I use this…Samari-The you wont have enough power to make it back home right…it time. Tsuruuchi surprised at what she replies with and says yeah you got a point then continues firing. The guards manage to break through wall and spot the host core.
Back with nagate he tries to aim his railgun at the crimson hawk moth but ends up missing and uses the last of his ammo until he remembers the bullet ren gave to him. He takes it out to load it, but the crimson hawk moth manages to destroy his railgun before he could load it and closes in on him. Scared at what's about to happen yuhata look away and captain thinking will he make it but nagate already has another plan, he presses some button on the dashboard to launch the hand with the bullet in it and as the gauna approaches him he pushes the lever up while saying you're not hoshijiro, you're not even human then with all his might push the lever up fast and yells take this. The hand launches from the arm with the bullet and penetrates the core making it disintegrate. Nagate then says Sidonia if you can hear me this is unit seven zero four the crimson hawk moth has been destroyed, I say again the crimson hawk moth has been destroyed.
Yuhata and the crew cheer for his victory then just about nagate was going to say something a guard comes flying out of no where and attacks him. Nagate yells what the hell man were on the same… he freezes stiff as he sees what attack him. Nagate say the black guard it can't it was only a blueprint how can it already be developed then the guard attacks him. Nagate manages to dodge its attacks and get a shot on it, but it deflects right off it. Nagate replies with what the that's the same shield tech as my ship then the guard punches his mech sending him flying, he gains control of his mech then yells who the hell are why are you attacking me, but the pilot doesn't reply and continues to attack him. Back with squad one they aim their railguns at the core, but the tentacles keep blocking their way and end up missing, one of the pilots suggested on falling back but Samari declined the option and says no if we don't do this now were going to lose Sidonia. Tsuruuchi- Samari all release all my heigus particles from point blank range.
Samari-ah what? Tsuruuchi-I'm going to head for the core all tear it open from the roots. Samari-Don't you'll lose all power and die. Tsuruuchi replies with except if we don't do anything we all die then presses on a button on the console releasing the energy his guard speeds away quickly then he fires his cannon at the tentacle cutting into it and is nearly there until his power cuts out and his guards begins to slowly fall away then his guard switches to back up power and he hears good job Tsuruuchi. Tsuruuchi-Sei your, your alive. Sei flies past him saying leave the rest to me. Take this he fire his rail gun at the damaged tentacle separating it then goes after Tsuruuchi. The tentacle piece falls down clearing the way to the core then samari gives the order to fire. The remaining guards fire their rounds penetrating the core then the gauna begins to disintegrate.
The guards then quickly retreat out the way they came with samari and Mr. Sei holding onto Tsuruuchi guard, he orders them to leave him, but they ignore him and continue carrying him. While they do nagate continues fighting the black guard, he dodges and turns avoiding its attack until its blades slice the tsugumori left arm off. He yells dam it then the black guard kicks the tsugumori in the chest sending it flying, nagate manages to gain control and when he looks up the black guard is gone.
He starts to look for it but then gets an alert saying the ipm is almost there then sees the rest of the guards coming out of the gauna and quickly regroups with them in secs the ipm destroys the asteroid within. Yuhata has the crew scan for survives but to no avail due to the inference and while that's going on izana wakes up with a bloody head to see ren floating in front of her cockpit. Ren helps her out and while she dos izana asks her what about everyone else, ren nods in sadness and it makes izana cry. She says oh nagate then she looks up to see something bright coming towards them.
The crew informs yuhata that's it's a seven-unit clasp formation making her smile in joy that they made it even izana and ren cheer. The survivors stop at where they are then izana sees nagate getting out of his guard and floats to her yelling her name. Izana lets go of ren and floats to him then hugs him and so dos he then he says I'm glad you're alright. Izana-Me to. Nagate-Come on let's go home. Izana-Yeah wait what happened to your guard. Nagate all explain later. Izana-Ok He then brings her to his guard and once in the they gather the rest of the survivor and heads for Sidonia. When they arrive at the hanger the doctors take the wounded to the hospital including izana then Tanba asks what the hell happened to the tsugumori? Nagate-I was attacked by a guard.
Tanba-A guard I highly doubt that. Nagate-Tanba have you heard of something called black guard project? Tanba-Yeah it was something a certain scientist drew up many years ago, but the project was scrapped due to the technology for it was impossible to construct why do you ask? Nagate-Because I fought it out there. Tanba-That's impossible nagate that type of guard hasn't been developed by toha heavy industries yet. Nagate points to his guard damaged arm and says then how do you explain that the gauna don't have anything that can slice through a guard's arm. Tanba-You have a point all have someone look into it. Nagate-Id prefer if you looked into it yourself. Tanba -why? Nagate goes over to him and whispers because I think something bad is coming our way and if we tell somebody about it, they'll know that we know, we need to be ready for what's coming. Tanba replies with agreed then nagate pulls something from pocket and says here I found this in an abandoned research facility then Tanba replies with all be dammed I thought these were all destroyed. Nagate-Guess I got lucky then. Tanba-All start looking into this immediately. Nagate-Thanks Tanba if you do show it to someone it to someone only show it to the people you trust most. Tanba-Don't worry I know who I can trust.
Nagate replies with thanks then gets an alert on wrist com, he looks to see its from izana saying I'm out of the hospital lets meet up to talk dinner plans to celebrate. Nagate replies with sounds great then goes to change and as he dos Tanba yells good job today you did well today also your friend izana really saved your life then nagate yells All have to thank her then heads for the locker room, while he changes izana is on a balcony imagining what nagate will say to her. Izana imagination- (Nagate-Hey izana thanks a lot if you didn't save me when I was…Well I wouldn't be here right now. Izana-Oh no please I just did what everyone else would have done)-End of imagination. She then hears hey sorry I'm late and turns around to see its him, when he stands in front of her izana makes a cute face then he says hey izana I got something for. Izana-You got something for me what is it? Nagate-First thing is close your eyes and no peaking.
Izana makes a questionable look and dos what he says, she then feels something being put around her neck then once done nagate says ok open. Izana looks at her neck to see a necklace wrapped around it and says the star shell but how did you…Nagate-I traded a piece of my arms armor to get it for you. I saw how much you wanted it and thought it look nice on you. Izana replies with thank you then just as she's about to say something ren comes flying out of nowhere surprising them and making nagate pull out his blaster. Ren says its ren. Nagate-what do you want? Ren-I wanted to say thanks and apologize. Nagate-apologize? Ren-Yeah well actually I always blamed you for that thing that happened to en. I know it was just in accident. I'm sorry.
Nagate puts away his blaster and replies with its ok, but it wasn't an accident. Ren-What do mean? Nagate-Before I took off on the last mission Tanba told me that someone sabotaged the tsugumori causing that accident. Ren-Why would someone do that? Nagate-To make people lose faith in me and it worked. They don't know who did it but all get to the bottom of it eventually and maybe you can help. Ren-Well you see are actual age is still around five years old all of us did receive some concentrated education, but I know that there's still a lot for us to learn but I don't think I'd be much help.
Nagate-No its ok really, I don't mind and I'm sorry to. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the penetration round it really saved my life thank you. Ren-Nagate thank you for keeping your promise you're the only one who could have used it like that. Nagate replies with yeah then begins to laugh and so dos ren. Izana puts a pout on then asks ah nagate you mentioned earlier that you might get someone else to join us tonight is that right. Nagate-Yeah but I don't know if he'll come. Ren-Who is it? Nagate-Its Kunato. Izana-Why him? Nagate-Because I was going to try and get him to pilot again. Ren-That would take a lot convincing. Nagate-I know but its worth trying though.
Ren replies to well good luck with that then is about to head out when nagate asks her would you care to join us, and she replies with ah shore I love to join you guys. Nagate says cool come by my ship all have something good ready by then. Izana-Wait your going make our evening meal I didn't know you can cook. Nagate-Someone close to me taught me how to cook. Izana-I see well I can't wait to eat what you make. Ren replies with me to then says to izana we should go get ready then and izana says yeah then ren says will see you in a bit nagate. Nagate replies with sounds good then begins to head out but before he dos he says hey izana. She turns to him saying what then to her surprise nagate kisses her, winks and says for rescuing me then heads out to Kunato's leaving izana blushing red.
While he heads there Kunato is watching the news on the current events that happened on the asteroid gauna, he sits there thinking until he hears his doorbell ring and sees that its nagate. He waits while looking at his house then hears the doors open and sees that he's out. Nagate-Your quitting the guard program is that true?...I know you don't know this but before I came into this universe I spent most of my life on a salvage station I was alone when my closes friend had left it was hard and there were lots of days I'd spend wondering if she come back. But maybe it's because I went through all that…that…So I'd appreciate all that I have here now. I really do love all the people here living in Sidonia.
But the truth is even though I wasn't born here Sidonia's people are important to me. Kunato reacts to what he said with a surprise look then nagate says If I'm being honest with you there's still a part of me that doesn't forgive you…but Kunato I want you to know that your still one of the ones I care about…besides Kunato you are a great pilot lets fight to protect your home side by side. Kunato doesn't reply to him and instead heads back inside closing the door with nagate saying wait then goes up to door and says would like to join me for your weekly meal tonight if you can't maybe some other time. Kunato jealously grows stronger towards him and begins to think of all his past memories including what nagate said to him in the hanger (if you ever you try something like that again all make shore the next time you go on mission you won't come back).Nagate waits to see if he replies but doesn't and makes a huff then heads for his ship. Once there he begins cooking and while he's does, he plays music and dances at the same time then once done he goes to change and while he dos he hears an alert from his ship saying someone is here, He looks at the monitor to see izana and ren at the entrance of his ship, he then presses a button opening it up then says on the loudspeaker come on up I'm almost ready.
They both say ok and enter, while walking they are amazed at big his ship is until they arrive at a dining room and smell something. Ren-What is that smell its smells so good. Izana-Yeah it actually smells familiar. Nagate walks in saying It's a Japanese dish called pork ramen my mom and I would make it to celebrate sometimes. They look at nagate to see him in blue pants with a black button-down shirt while ren wears a pink button-down shirt with a white ribbon on it and a brown tunic while izana wears blue pants with a purple shirt then nagate says you two look great. They say thank you then they sit down and begins to eat, while eating izana says Wow nagate this is amazing. Ren-Yeah this is the best ramen I ever had. Nagate-Thanks guys. Izana-How come yuhata isn't here to celebrate?
Nagate-I tried to invite her, but she said she had other plans. Ren-That's doesn't seem like her. Nagate replies yeah then just as he's about to say something he hears something hit his ship, he turns on the monitor to see a large crowd had broken into the hanger and started throwing stuff at his ship, he quickly gets up running for the ramp with ren and izana behind. Once out he yells HEY STOP WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Person-Your ship is the most advanced piece of technology Sidonia has give us the tech leave Sidonia.
Nagate-Are you nuts I need my tech if I'm going to get home. All give Sidonia blueprints of it but I'm not having you strip my ship of it. The crowd gets angry then they begin yelling at him until one of them throws a wrench at him hitting him in the head making him fall over. Ren and izana rush over to him seeing if he's ok then notice that he's bleeding from his head. The crowd begins to approach him then ren gets in between them and says leave him alone. Person-You're defending him after what he did to your sister didn't you say you would never forgive him. Ren-I did but I learn to forgive him, and you should to.
The crowd simmers down then a group of guards come in and say nobody move, the crowd put their hands up then are escorted out of the hanger with one of the guards asking everything alright. Izana replies with were ok but nagate…the guard interrupts her saying very well and leaves. Ren-Rude come on let's get him on to his ship its got to have a medical bay. Izana-yeah. They lift him up gently and izana puts him on her back then they go up the ramp, ren looks around until she finds the med bay and tells izana to lay him down. While she dos nagate wakes up saying ow my head. What happened last thing I remember I was hit in the head by something. Ren-You were hit by a wrench then afterwards a group of guards came in and an escorted them out without even trying to help you.
Nagate replies with its ok then ren comes over with the med supplies and says hold still, she begins wiping up the blood on his head then adds medicine to prevent infection then puts a band aid over it. Nagate-Thanks ren. Ren-Your welcome nagate. Nagate-Sorry about dinner I wasn't expecting that to happen. Ren-Its ok but I had good time the dinner you made was delicious. Nagate-Thanks ren. She replies your welcome then says Well I should probably head home. Nagate-ok. Nagate escorts her outsides of his ship and says thank you for coming ren replies with your welcome then puts out her hand. Nagate looks at her hand and instead of shaking it he steps forward and hugs her then says I'm happy to call you, my friend. Ren blushes then hugs him back then nagate presses a button on his arm to summon his camera and says let's get a photo to remember this. Ren agrees with him then they stand side by side and the camera takes the shot and prints 2 of it.
He gives one to ren and she says thank you then heads home while saying have a good night nagate, he replies to you to then heads back inside his ship. He looks around his ship for izana until she sees her cleaning out the bowls in the kitchen and says you didn't have to do that. Izana-It's the least I could after dinner was ruined. Nagate-Thanks izana. Izana-Your welcome nagate. When she finishes cleaning and as she puts down the rag down nagate comes up from behind her hugs her and rest his chin on her shoulder. Izana blush's and says nagate what are you…Nagate replies with a small way of saying thank you for helping. Izana turns around to face him and says your welcome then tears start to form in her eyes. Nagate-Izana what's wrong? Izana-I'm sorry it just ever since the you were hurt; I couldn't stop thinking what if it happens again. Nagate holds her hand and says hey I'm not going to let that happen again. Izana-You promise. Nagate replies with I promise then hugs her then izana hugs him tighter.
Then as they let go izana asks about your guard you said you tell me what happened. Nagate replies I did then he sits down with her and explains to her about the blackguard attacking him. Izana-The blackguard but how it that possible wasn't it only a blueprint. Nagate-I don't know but what I do know is someone is trying to pick up where Ochiai left off. Izana-How could anyone pick up where he left off Ochiai was a terrible person. Nagate-I don't know but will find out the truth someday. Izana-Ok
Mins later nagate locks up his ship then they head back to their dorms hand in hand and turn in for the night then by morning nagate is heading for the research lab with a new marker for the ena and his notes to get the coordinates to his mom's ship but only discover that the ena is not there.
