A few days have passed since the battle of asteroid gauna and nagate spends most of his days fighting and teaching the next group of cadets to become pilots. He steps out of the virtual training console and is cheered by the cadets there then Mr. Sei says to him good job nagate, he replies with thanks then Mr. Sei says to the cadets listen up with the automated functions of the mk 18 there's nothing he can do that you can't with proper training. The cadets look at each other a bit worried with nagate noticing then Mr. Sei continues you all need to give it everything you got.
The cadets all say yes Sir then Mr. Sei begins say furthermore but nagate interrupts him and says you should train with people that you don't know and form a bond with them just like I did when I started piloting the tsugumori. The stronger the bond you have with them the more your skills as a pilot will increase. All the pilots salute him saying thanking sir then Mr. Sei says alright everyone line and head back to your class the next lesson will be starting soon. The cadets all say yes sir then exit the room in an ordered faction then Mr. Sei says you have a way with words. Nagate replies with yeah, I learned a thing or two since being on Sidonia anyways I got to head out don't want to keep my friend waiting then heads the doorway with sei saying take care then nagate waves at him.
On the day the guards where fighting the asteroid gauna Kunato goes to the entrance of a massive, locked door in his family library mozuku tries to tell him to stop but Kunato doesn't care and tells her to leave but mozuku refuses and stays by his side. Kunato then presses a button on the door then after opening they walk inside then Kunato ask what is this place? Mozuku-Ochiai's laboratory, I heard it was sealed off because research that could potentially destroy Sidonia was conducted here. They look around the laboratory until Kunato stumbles upon a desk with destroyed papers then sees one that isn't completely destroyed, he picks it up and reads project titan what were you supposed to be. He puts it down and looks elsewhere, until he comes across a shelf with viles he picks one up and sees something inside it.
Mozuku comes across dozens of cacti and notice there no needles in them. She goes to touch one but then feels something cut her finger then sees it fall it fall off she tries to warn Kunato but by then it's too late and she is killed. Kunato runs over with the vile still in his hand to see mozuku on the ground with her neck slit and as he's about to move he feels something cut his check; he looks down to see a little robotic figure on the ground with a sword in its hand. Kunato stumbles then falls over not being able to move and drops the vile, as it roles away it then opens up and something comes out then begins crawling toward Kunato and all goes black. Hours later mozuku is eating at table then says it seems that you're adjusting to your new body well master Ochiai. Ochiai as Kunato laughs a bit then says be careful not to address me with that name mozuku. Mozuku- Yes that's right Kunato… I mean master Norio. As she finishes eating ochai manages to gain access to Sidonia's main frame and sees images of the battle with the asteroid gauna. Ochiai replies Well,Well it seems that this generation has a pilot prodigy as well then sees an image of nagate and begins to laugh then says I see so this is saitou's double well now. Mozuku-What will we do about him? Ochiai-We will deal with him later on we other plans to achieve and I know where to start. Ochiai and mozuku both leave and heads for the research station. Once there he rings the doorbell waking up numi she looks at the monitor to see its him then she lets them in and Ochiai says I'm with Kunato development I'm here to observe and detail the ena specimen, confused at what he said numi looks at forms and sees that he has been granted access to research faculty then lets them in. Ochiai-Thank you for having us. Numi-I see you decided to take the reins of Kunato development. Ochiai-Yes, my father suddenly passed away. Numi-Oh really, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Ochiai-Though we lost the guard contract to toha heavy industries we've been given the privilege of developing new research and as I did when I was a pilot, I plan on giving it my all. Numi-Your very responsible for someone so young this way. Numi leads them towards the window of the chamber and when he looks through, he says amazing. Ochiai- Absolute perfection. Ochiai- Absolute what do you mean? Ochiai-Oh nothing. Numi-The organs and brain have flawlessly been reproduced functionally speaking they are nearly the same as a human being. Ochiai-As it is gauna do not need to eat or breath their bodies are far superior to humans so why do it why go through the trouble of reproducing the inferior human biological functions every time I see a gauna I always think one thing humans must change the way they are as living beings.
Numi-The way they are as living beings? Ochiai-yes that right. For example, finding a way in which to create a single immortal life form. Numi- I use to have lots of discussions like this one but I believe if individuals persuade biological enhancements and achieved immortality, we would no longer have the ability to function as a tribe. Kunato then begins to laugh then says I see so the general population doesn't know the immortal council. Numi says what then just as Ochiai is about so say something he spots something on the barriers glass and ask what is that? Numi-Its something nagates been doing with the ena he's trying to get it to remember something. Ochiai-Why would he try to do that? Numi-He thinks the ena is trying to show him what hoshijiro was going to say to him before she was killed, and he had said it might be the key to finding his mom's ship. Ochiai says I see then laughs again and says So that little vermin wants to run home to his mommy how excruciating. Numi-What exactly are you trying to say?
Ochiai-You are all pathetic creatures just like him trying to find a home when we could be gods and live like the gauna forever. Numi frighten at what he says steps back and says what's wrong with you im going to call someone but before she could Ochiai lifts up his finger and pricks her on the cheeks making her freeze up, Ochiai catches her lifts her up and says unfortunately you will most likely never move this body of yours of your own free will ever again. Ochiai pulls a small vile from his pocket and says what I have here is a sidonian blood mimatod my own creation it can completely transcribe the human brain or artificial intelligence the new personality will take over the hosts brain and control the body. Ochiai tips the vile on to numi's glasses and the creature crawls off it and begins invading numi brain taking over her body then Ochiai says now our plans can begin. Back with nagate he is with izana walking past where the tsugumori once was towards the dining area then izana asks how was your triumph return to cadet school? Nagate-I was a bit nervous, but I knew what to say when they were all looking at me. Izana-Of course they did you do realize that your every pilot-cadets hero. They asked you about the asteroid battle didn't they. Nagate-Ah yeah. While they walk izana notices somethings up and says you ok nagate? Nagate-I'm ok its just I'm not shore how all be able to find my moms ship without the clue from the ena. I was so close to figuring it out and by the next day its gone. I tried searching for it, but I still can't find it I'm starting to think all never get back home. Izana stops him then says hey don't say that I know you'll find a way back you just have to keep trying.
Nagate replies with I know but I'm not shore what im going to do then walks away towards the dining area with izana feeling sad for him. After getting to the dining area they both sit down to eat and once nagate finishes he says thanks for the meal. Izana-What that's all your eating. -That's unusual not having seconds huh. Nagate-No im finished. I gonna go take walk then turn in the meal was good though. Nagate piles up his plates puts in a bin then says have a good night to izana and heads out while izana stays with to finish her meal. Nagate walks around a bit then goes down an escalator until he sees numi on the other side with Kunato and says numi I was coming to see you I wanted to talk about the other day then starts to run up the downside. Kunato-About the ena sample?
Nagate-Kunato how do you know about that? Kunato-The extraterrestrial research division transferred the sample to Kunato development. Its classified but don't worry it will be used for the good of Sidonia. Nagate-Wait hold on what do you mean don't tell me you're cutting her up? Kunato-Pilot nagate that's nearly an ena nothing more. Nagate-I know that but the ena was trying to show me something and I was so close to figuring it out if you can just let me see it. Kunato-I'm sorry nagate but the ena specimen is already being put to good use don't worry I'm shore someday you'll find your way back home to your mother nagate I believe in you. Nagate stops at what he says, and whispers how did he know I was looking for her. After reaching the bottom he heads for his dorm and once there he goes to bed and when he falls asleep he has a great dream until it turns bad. In the dream he sees his mom in front of him and calls out to her.
She acknowledges him then nagates tries to reach for her hand, but his hand goes right through hers then he sees her fading away and starts yelling MOM DON'T GO PLEASE DON'T GO but she doesn't hear him and fades away quickly making him wake up crying then he hugs his legs. Meanwhile is packing lunch for nagate and izana for their trip then she says Do you think this will be enough for his lunch? Izana-Probably nagate seems to have lost his appetite lately. -Do you think it has something to do with that ena sample? Izana-He use to get called in a lot by the extraterrestrial research division, but they don't call anymore I even asked nagate about it, but he doesn't know. -Just give him some space he is still eating after all. Izana-Yeah, your right. -He's very lucky to have as you, as his girlfriend. Izana replies with yeah then realizing what she said blushes, and replies wait how did you know? -I've seen how you two are when your alone and how he reacted the night you were hurt on the pear. Izana looks away blushing and says ah yeah, he very protective of me when someone tries to harm me. smiles and says I'm glad to see you with someone that really cares for you. Izana-Yeah me to. Well, I should go get some sleep can't wait for tomorrow. -Do have fun tomorrow. Izana-I will thank you . Izana grabs the bento boxes and heads for her room to turn in for the night and by morning izana and nagate have their bags on while dressed in casual cloths and are about to head out until izana gets bad news from nagate. Izana-Huhh Nagate-Sorry but all be back soon. Izana-Uh but I even made you lunch. Nagate-ah hm. Izana-You can't do it over the phone? Nagate-I tried but yuhata said she really needed to talk to me about the ena sample in person. Izana puts on huff then walks away and says Fine then all just go alone. Nagate-Izana wait, huh man I just can't catch a break. Nagate quickly leaves the cadet quarters and makes his way down dozens of stairs until he sees yuhata by a balcony.
Nagate-There you are Yuhata you said you need to speak with me? Yuhata-Sorry for doing this on such short notice actually the captain gave an order concerning the ena sample. Nagate-Which was? Yuhata-Stay away from the ena from now on. Nagate-WHAT? Yuhata-Nagate the captain seemed very worried about you. Nagate-Why should she? Yuhata-Because she's counting on you as pilot. Nagate put on an angry face then says Yeah ok I understand all forget the whole thing and pretend that it never existed sub commander. Yuhata-Good you do that pilot nagate your excused. Nagate-huh. Yuhata-Is something the matter? Nagate replies with Oh well there's…then looks up at hill with trees making yuhata curios. Izana is walking up the hills stressing out and saying I've got a long way to go then mins late she finds a place to sit and pulls out the bento box she had prepared for nagate and says huh what's the point of having a boyfriend if he's not even going to come then as she opens it, she hears something coming up and to her surprise its nagate floating in the air.
Nagate-Izana there you are. Izana-N,Nagate what is that thing? Nagate-Its an evacuation jetpack for upper-level crew members yuhata said I could use it. Izana-Oh she did? Nagate-Yeah there was no way I was going to miss out on a romantic trip with you. Izana blushes a bit then says ro-romantic. Nagate lands on ground to unbuckles the jet pack then holds on to her hand and says yes romantic and kisses on the cheek making her smile. He then looks down to see her holding the bento box with rice balls in it and says shall we eat together? Izana replies with yes and they both grab a rice ball at the same time and enjoy their lunch together then when they finish and are cleaned up, they hold each other's hand then start to walk up together. Meanwhile yuhata watches from a far jealously and says huh sometimes it doesn't seem fair I have to go out of my way to help those two.
Elsewhere Sasaki and Tanba are discussing the current events. Tanba-We used up most of the man made kabi that we were able to create from the hybrid in the asteroid battle and then all of sudden Kunato development manages to manufacture a tone in no time were practically swimming in gauna core penetration rounds. What kind of magic did they use anyways? Sasaki-They said they found a new manufacturing method. Tanba-Ah new method like? Sasaki-How would I have any idea that's what we all like to know. Tanba-Anyways have you looked into that matter I told you about? Sasaki-I have, and I couldn't find anyway reference to project blackguard its like someone deleted everything about it. Tanba-Strange there should have been at least a backup of it. Sasaki-Why so interested in this? Tanba-Because nagate had given me the only blueprints left of it and fought it in the asteroid battle. Sasaki-That's impossible we haven't even developed that type of model and if he did fight it, we would have seen it. Tanba-It must be using some sort of stealth technology but Sidonia doesn't have that kind of tech except… Sasaki-Except what? Tanba-The only thing that would have that kind of tech is nagates ship but nagate would never give his tech just to anybody. Sasaki-Someone must have hacked into his ship and stole the tech, but the question is who. All keep digging see if there's still something of project blackguard.
Tanba replies with understood then hears an alarm going off. Yuhata is rushing to the bridge asking the crew where is the gauna. Crew-Gauna 549 has already crossed the level two security border it is currently six hundred and thirty kilometers away. Crew-The analyses is coming in. Yuhata-Its big is it a gauna pod? Crew-No were estimating that there's a single core. Yuhata-Single core its mass is at least twice the size of the gauna pod we encountered. We will proceed to destroy gauna 549 guard squad prepare for dispatch. In the hanger Sasaki and Tanba are making final adjustments to the tsugumori then Sasaki says wait we need more time I haven't had a chance to brief the pilot. Tanba-while they may look identical this one is different then the tsugumori you've been piloting. Nagate-What? Sasaki-Dam it I wanted to give it a test flight before I sent you out. Nagate floats himself into the cockpit then Sasaki floats over his cockpit and says don't push it to hard you'll answer to me if you damage my tsugumori. Nagate replies don't worry Sasaki I trust your work. Sasaki-Why do you trust my work? Nagate replies with
Because in my universe you design the longbow fighter to protect the civilian transports from the drej then nagate closes his cockpit leaving Sasaki surprised. His guard is then pulled into the launch tube and when he twists the handle his guard is released and goes flying out the tube speeding away to the other squads and Mr. Sei notices. Mr. Sei-Nagate is traveling fast were in a four-unit clasp formation and he's going to catch us. Nagates flies by their group making Tsuruuchi freak out then nagate says This is nagate taking point. Crew-All units have entered the effective range of the penetration rounds. Yuhata- The enemy is massive follow the plan and keep your distance.
Nagate will proceed to fire at the effective range limit all other units proceed to wedge formation and support. Nagate-Roger, pilots- Affirmative. The guards move into the formation then nagate says this is 704 firing, he fires his shot at gauna expecting it to disintegrate but nothing happens, and he replies with strange could it be. Crew- The gauna core remains unharmed. Crew- The core penetrations rounds are being stopped at the surface. Yuhata-Their what? Crew structural analysis is complete.
Yuhata-Ah what is this? Crew-Conventional ena cells and core ena cells are layered on top of each other. Mr. Sei-They've already developed counter measures for our core penetration rounds. Tsuruuchi- Ah dam it how are we supposed to destroy the core then? Ren-I think we should have all unit's fire at the same target together if we can destroy the ena faster than it can regenerate we should be able to eventually penetrate the core. Yuhata- That's seems like our only option. Operators calculate the entry point with shortest distance from the gauna surface to the core and send it to all units. Crew-affirmative. The crew quickly find the target point on the gauna then they send it guards and once they receive it they get into formation and begin firing at it. The guards manage to break through the core shell ena and just as they are about to break through the next one the crew inform yuhata of a sudden heigus particle rise in gauna 549. Yuhata quickly orders them to scatter and most of them manage to get out of the way while some take damage. Samari-We can't concentrate on aiming at the target while trying to doge its attack. Crew- The damaged ena appears to be regenerating. Samari-What? Crew-Attack squad core penetration rounds reserves are at twenty percent. After nagate heard what the crew said he quickly ejects his gun barrel then says ren with me she replies roger and they head for the gauna.
Samari-What are they doing? -Their aiming directly for the gaunas ena cannons. Crew-Ena still regenerating we've dropped down to twenty percent until gauna core impact. Yuhata replies with all units on standby prepare for attack equip gauna core penetration rounds then she hears an alert go off and looks at the monitor. Yuhata-What's this? A new gauna and four other unit it appeared withing the perimeter. Crew-The new gauna and unknown units are continuing to accelerate. Their traveling faster than a guards conventional operation speed. The second gauna target trajectory is aimed at nagate and ren. Yuhata- Nagate, Ren get away from there another gauna is heading directly towards you. Ren-We've got other things were dealing with. Crew-High level of heigus particles detected from the new gauna. Yuhata-Wait what? Within secs nagate and ren see massive heading towards them and they quickly get out of the way before it impacts the gauna leaving a massive hole in it. Nagate replies what the hell was that then turns in the direction where it came from and is frightened of what of whats surrounding the pink life form even the rest of the pilots. The pink life that almost resembles a gauna then begins to speak, hello everyone my name is tsumugi shiraui its nice to meet you I look forward to getting to know you all.
