Since the reveal of the hybrid everyone on Sidonia has been on edge and a reporter informs everyone, the captain has set plans in motion to head for the lem star system and Mrs. Hiyama is a bit furious about it. -Unbelievable when was it that this got all decided? Yuhata with a sad mood says the assembly been suspended…the captain is the one making all the decisions now then drinks her tea. -The assembly been suspended the immortal council would never have agreed to that. Yuhata-Anyways the captain is heading over to toha heavy industries to look at the material being used to build for the new tsugumori. -The captain still intends to send nagate out to fight.
Yuhata-Its appears that way but he doesn't seem to mind but some of the citizens still think he should leave because he kept his technology from Sidonia. -Don't listen to those protesters nonsense what they say won't change anything about how nagate feels about here. Yuhata finishes her tea then while leaving she replies with, I hope your right and heads for her dorm still sad. Else were nagate is walking with izana in the streets and she says the days have gotten shorter. Nagate-Yeah, and have you noticed it's gotten a bit cold? Izana-Yeah it has been a bit chilly Sidonia must be conserving energy from the weather system they do this every year. Nagate-I see
Nagate then sees a large crowd of anti-protesters with big signs and pictures of him with an x on it yelling gauna hybrids must go, no gaunas inside Sidonia and the outsider nagate kept from us, he must leave Sidonia. Nagate puts on a sad face then izana takes his hand and says let go nagate leading him away from the large crowd before they could see him. Izana-Don't listen to them they have no idea what their talking about. Nagate-Maybe they do. Izana-What? Nagate-Everybody hates me because I didn't share my technology with Sidonia, I'm starting to think my pod should have never woken me up because all I'm doing is causing problems here. After here what he said izana pulls him into an alleyway where nobody can see them and then without hesitating izana slams her hand on a wall next to nagates head making him gulp then with an upset look izana says So really think you would have been better off in that pod?
Nagate looks away with guilt and says I don't know but it seems like whatever I do or not do it cause problems here I feel like I'm a burden here. Izana cups nagate cheek and says Hey you're not a burden nagate you have every right to be here and who cares what those people think about you your kind, sweet and the most caring person ever it's the reason I want to be with you. Nagate smiles and replies I'm glad you are then kisses her making izana put her arms around him then says come on we don't want to keep tsumugi waiting and pulls him to kunato development. Elsewhere the captain is with Sasaki, clone Ochiai, Ochiai and mozuku heading to toha heavy to look at the new material being built for the new tsugumori. Sasaki-What you're looking at is a sample of the new material jointly developed with Kunato developments. captain-Hm it seems sturdy. Sasaki-That's true but it also very light weight. Ochiai-We applied the same principles as the gauna core shell…although only toha heavy industries could have managed to develop it as quickly as this. Sasaki-Yeah well, I suppose that true I have years of experience… you know you're not actually doing too bad for a kid just starting out. Ochiai clone-How many mark eighteens can you build with this new material before we make it to the lem star system. Sasaki-You're the one who told us to prioritize building a new tsugumori from these new materials…with the mark eighteens we have now I'd say we can probably reinforce the cockpits for about sixty units or so. Tanba-Hm don't make it sound like it's so easy. Sasaki-I'm just giving an honest estimate besides with the new black guards helping us taking down the gauna it will make things a lot easier. Tanba-True but I wouldn't put my faith in those guards.
Kobayashi- You sound conflicted tanba. Tanba-It's because the technology that was used to build them was wrong. Sasaki-TANBA. Tanba-I'm only speaking what's right. What mako did to nagate was wrong and because of what he did nagate lost his faith in us and trust. Kobayashi looks down with guilt then as she leaves says I know what mako did was wrong, but it was necessary to complete the project, I will have mako go to him and apologize but it won't make him feel any better. Later nagate and izana are outside of the ship with tsumugi and Ochiai looking towards a faraway star then tsumugi says that must be the lem star system. Izana-Wow you can see it from here? Tsumugi-Yes, Izana-Can you see the colonists? Tsumugi-No I can't see that far. Izana-I hear the gauna cluster is slowly making its way to the lem star system I hope their ok.
Ochiai-We need to worry about that gauna cluster more than we do than the colonists. We have no way to defeat it with the weapons we currently have in Sidonia. Izana-Ah but there's still a chance we don't even need to fight it right? Ochiai-That absurd is that your view as a member of Sidonia's military force that we should try to sneak past it preying that the enemy doesn't do anything. That is nothing more than a nest of evil creature we have no other choice but to fight we need to arm ourselves with the weapons needed to destroy our enemies as soon as possible.
Nagate-I want to eliminate the gauna just as much as you do, and I agree we no choice but to fight it's just there that there are different types of gauna who knows if we found out where they came from, we could negotiate and find peace day. Ochiai-That sentiment might get you killed nagate. Have you forgotten how many times the crimson hawkmoth nearly killed you? Izana-Why are you always so condescending Kunato I'm mean were all the same age well except for you nagate. Nagate-Its ok I don't mind.
Tsumugi-Hey izana. Izana-Huh what is it? Tsumugi-Do you think that I could maybe see that picture of the cat again? Izana-yeah shore here. Izana presses a button on wrist com to show the picture then tsumugi get all happy and says ahh it looks so fluffy and soft. Nagate-I didn't know you liked cats. Izana-My grandma got me one when I was little. All bring him over the next time I come. Tsumugi-Oh really id love that thank you so much. Izana giggles at her response then nagate gets an alert on his wrist com. Izana-What is it? Nagate-Its En, En honoka she's awakened. Izana-what? Nagate-She was knocked unconscious in the battle of the chained gauna. Izana-We should go see her. Nagate-I don't know En might still hold a grudge against me after what happened. Izana floats over to him puts a hand on his shoulder and says I'm shore she can forgive you just like ren did. Nagate thinks for a moment then with a smile says your right izana come on let's get back inside to go see her. Izana-Yeah. Meanwhile ren is helping en walk and she asks are you ok don't push yourself too hard. En-How long…how long have I been unconscious? Wait Hold on I was…I was fighting the gauna. What happened to that gauna? Grr nagate he screwed up our detonation. Ren-En calm down all tell you about that later. Ah so is there anything you want to do? En-Hmm I want to photosynthesize. Ren replies ok and leads her back her room mean while nagate is on his way there with izana and holding plate of rice balls for en while humming. He then says All I could think of getting her were rice balls she's been asleep so long she got to be hungry ha-ha she'll love these. izana-She definitely will en had told me it's one of her favorites. Nagate-That's good. Izana- Were here how do you want to do this? Nagate thinks for a second then says first see if she wants to talk if not all just leave the rice balls in front of the door for her with a note, so she knows it's from me. Izana-Sounds like a plan ok here it goes.
Izana goes up to the door while nagate stands to the side watching then izana presses the button to open the door and says hey en we don't mean barge in but we were wondering if then notices en is naked and ren is in nothing but her bra and panties making izana face turn bright red and says quickly IM SO SORRY TO DISTURB YOU IN YOUR SESSION WILL COME BACK LATER then quickly closes the door and steps away making nagate say in his head what the heck just happened then steps forward in front of the door asking is everything ok izana do we need to come back. She turns around to reply to him but before she could say anything en with all her might kicks the door down colliding into nagate then the force of it pushes him into wall breaking his nose then falls down including the plate of rice balls.
Izana in shock and with her jaw dropped down goes to him while en watches angrily and ren worries for him then izana ask him are you alright nagate and he replies with in a silly voice that was an awesome sidekick then the door falls down slamming into his head and knocking him out. Izana then gets upset and storms up en yelling WHAT THE HELL THE MATTER WITH YOU EN. Shocked at what she says en steps back and replies I ah. Izana-He came here peacefully to talk to you, but you had to take it too far and he ended up getting hurt again. En-Wait again? Izana tears up and says loudly nagate was shot after the chained gauna battle and nearly died from it. Izana turns away while still tearing up then en begins to say izana I'm, but she cuts her off and says just stay away from him if you're just going to hurt him again and rushes out to go help nagate leaving en with guilt inside.
Hours later izana is siting with nagate near a ledge with a bandage on his nose eating rice balls she made for him then they hear someone say nagate there you are. they both turn to see ren coming down a flight of stairs while en stays at the top. Izana gets frustrated then stands up goes behind him and puts her hand near nagate to protect him. Ren says en would really like to offer an apology to you is now good time? Nagate says yes its ok then ren yells out to en but en hesitates and ends up running away by jumping off pipes and stairs making ren worry for her then looks towards nagate. Ren-I'm really sorry for what en did to you nagate. Nagate-Its ok ren I'm not upset at her. In unison izana and ren say you're not then nagate says no. The reason is because I know what she is going through. Ren-You do? Nagate-I do. Izana sits down with nagate while ren leans on a railing then he says after earth was destroyed and the remaining human population was able to escape, they started blamed the other races for not helping defend earth from the drej including me. They were days where I would be so angry at them but then I realized it wasn't their fault they were afraid of them just like we were. Izana-Why were you angry though? Nagate-The reason why I was angry is because I was looking for someone to blame after what happened to my home and after izana told me what En did to me I knew what she is going through. Ren-I see, Nagate-Give En some time I know she'll come around eventually. Ren-I hope so. Ren stays with them for a bit then they see the lights going down and they all decide to head back to their dorms meanwhile yuhata is her room thinking of the current event that happened.
yuhata- The sudden appearance of the hybrid specimen and the new black guards. The declaration of war against the gauna cluster the captain has made some uncharacteristic moves lately. She looks up tsumugi in the data files of Sidonia and says the gauna and human hybrid specimen…the hybrid joins in the combat…Kunato development representative calls for an open meeting mph this isn't the information I wanted.
She then begins hacking confidential files and manages to break through then as soon as she scrolls down, she sees an image of ena hoshijiro and says tsumugi was made from that ena then goes through the access history and noticed nagate had accessed it and worries a bit. By the next day nagate and izana leave to go see tsumugi and upon arriving they are surprised to see yuhata there. tsumugi-Nagate, Izana. Izana-Oh yuhata what are you doing here? Yuhata-I came to give her some information on the mixed clasp formation drills for our study of the hybrid. Izana-Oh really? Yuhata-As sub commander it's my duty to access our combat capabilities. It seems you two come to meet tsumugi quite a lot.
Izana-Yeah since were doing clasp formations with tsumugi tomorrow we thought we hold hands. Yuhata-Pilots still believe that superstition? Tsumugi-Hm is that ah good luck ritual? Izana-They say you'll fail a clasp formation if you do it with some you've never touched before. I know how about the four of put our hand together. Yuhata-What? Nagate-Yeah let's do it., tsumugi-Yes, Nagate-You to yuhata. Yuhata-Ah no I can't I ah I mean I'm not actually a pilot. Izana sticks out her hands and says who cares about that come on, yuhata smiles and Ok then you win. They all cross their arms and grab each other hand then tsumugi says now were going to be ok. Izana-Yeah, Nagate-Let's get a photo to remember this. Tsumugi-Ok but how we don't have a camera. Nagate makes a small laugh then presses a button on his arm and his camera pops out making tsumugi say ahh it's so cute.
Nagate smiles then the camera goes in front of them while they put their arms around each other then the camera takes their picture and prints out then he gives it to tsumugi. Tsumugi-Thank you nagate. Nagate-Your welcome tsumugi. Well, we should probably head back I need to check up on a few things. Tsumugi-Ok nagate see you later. Nagate waves good by then heads for his dorm and as he's walking through a park, he stands by the railing then pulls off his glove to look at his map and then lifts up his hand to gaze as it and watches the compass move. As he watches he hears footsteps coming from behind and goes to look but then sees a sword coming down on him and manages to dodge it before it could hit him. He looks to see it's the ninjas again but with different suits and then he says you guys again. The ninja attacks him making nagate pull out his phaser sword and to his surprise when he hits it his sword doesn't cut through the ninja sword.
He begins to say what the how did you but is then cut off when the ninja lunges at him punching him in the face making him collapse on ground. He quickly gets up and dodges their attacks putting him on the defense then he manages to get upper and gets behind one of the ninjas and is able to subdue him by pinning him on the floor then he says back off or hes dead im not handing over my maps of the system. Ninja-You miss understand we don't want your paper maps we want that. The ninja points her sword to his hand with his ring on it then he says the map to titan how do you know about?
Ninja-It doesn't matter how we know are only purpose is to take that's all that matters now surrender the map to titan or your friend dies. One of the ninjas comes out from behind a tree and is forcefully holding ren tied up and gagged. Nagate-Ren you son of a let her go she's got nothing to do with this. The female ninja replies Oh but it does matter if you value these pathetic clones you'll hand it over or the honoka's will lose another sister then the ninja starts to drag her sword over her arm making ren scream in pain. Nagate yells ENOUGH ALL GIVE YOU THE RING JUST STOP HURTING HER then lets go of the ninja.
The ninja says excellent but before they could do anything nagate tells them to let ren go or he'll destroy the ring. The ninja grits then lets ren go and she runs over nagate,he hugs her then throws the ring over to them and while they look at the ring nagate cuts ren lose and then she says how could you give up ring nagate isn't that but nagate looks at her winks and faces the ninja. The ninja puts the ring on then says we finally have the map to…what the where is it where's the map. Nagate stands there laughing then the ninja says what's so funny then he says you really thought you were going to get the map to titan. That ring is genetically encrypted to me so only I can access it and nobody else. The ninja gets upset then all of a sudden nagate fires his grappler at the ninja holding it then nagate comes flying and punches the ninja in the face making her fall over and drops the ring. Nagate manages to catch it and puts his ring back on his finger then says anybody else want some.
The ninjas hesitate then the leader says fall back and throws down a smock bomb to cover their escape. After seeing them gone he goes over ren and ask you ok ren. Ren replies I'm ok but my arm, she looks at her left arm to see it bleeding then nagate says I'm so sorry ren I didn't mean for any of this to happen. She takes nagates hand and says its ok nagate then nagate smiles and says come on let's get your arm patched up. He then takes ren to his ships med bay and is able to bandage her arm she then thanks him and after he says your welcome nagate starts to think about what happened then ren asks him who were those people? Nagate-I don't know but those were the same ninjas that attacked me a few months ago. Ren-Wait they attacked you before. Nagate-Yeah but before I thought they were after my paper maps of the star system. Ren-What star system? Nagate goes to his bag then pulls out the map and says this one. The map was in my bag in separate pieces and if it weren't for hoshijiro I never would have known it was a star system. Ren goes to it looks at it carefully then says doesn't that look like were heading to, it looks like the lem star system.
Nagate looks at it carefully then pulls up a hologram of the lem star system and as he lays it over his it matches up then he says this can't be a coincidence. Ren-What is? Nagate-Sidonia is heading the lem star system and it happens to be the same one drawn here. Ren looks at it then says your right this can't be a coincidence but why this system what's so special about it? Nagate says Well there is a habitable planet there but I'm betting it has something to do with this, he points to the diamond shape object on his map then ren says what is it exactly. Nagate-I don't know but it may be the key to getting back to my universe. Ren-You should go ahead of Sidonia and check it out now that your ship is fixed.
Nagate-No not yet. Ren-Why not? Nagate-Because we still don't what it is, and I don't want to tip off the people who sent those ninjas to steal my map. Ren-Who could have sent them? Nagate-I don't know but I have feeling on who might have sent them. Ren-Who? Nagate-Mako. Ren-Mako why would he send them? Nagate-So he can get the map to the titan and get there first before I do but the question is why would he need the titan? Ren-Are you shore though it was him that sent those people you did kind of just accused him of stealing from you. Nagate-Ren he already stole from me he took every tech from my ship, and he used it to build those dam guards. Ren-That is true but if it weren't for those guards, we be dead. Nagate-I know but the way they fight wasn't right. Nagate looks down with sadness the ren puts her hand over his and says if were going to prove mako is behind this were going to need proof. Nagate-Indeed and if were going find it we need to get into his lab.
Ren-Oh I was going to suggest we follow him close behind. Nagate-I tried that once it didn't turn out so great. We need to get to his lab to find real evidence if were going to prove he's behind the attacks. Ren-Ok but how are we getting in? Nagate-Through the vents but I'm only going in. Ren-What why? Nagate-Because I'm the only that can disguise myself if things don't go right. But what you can do is be my spotter. Ren-Spotter? Nagate-You keep an eye on the entrance if mako is coming or his girlfriend sakiko. Ren-I can defiantly do that. Nagate smiles and says thanks ren then as they look at the map an alarm goes off saying gauna approaching Sidonia all pilots report in. As nagate and ren leave nagate says to when we get back all tell yuhata and izana about what's going with ren replying ok then they head for their lock rooms to change into their suits. On the bridge the crew do a scan of the gauna then yuhata recognizes it and says Wait this is the ship that was carrying the colonists to the lem star system that's why we lost contact with them the gauna got to them. Crew-The enemy gauna five five zero has estimate of five hundred cores within. It has turned towards Sidonia and released gauna. Yuhata-Cancel the drills proceed with exterminating the gauna guard squad prepare for deployment. Ochiai-This is the hybrid tsumugi and her pilot Kunato we will be able to intercept the gauna sooner if we operate alone may we deploy. Yuhata-Negative join the guard formation with the others. Ochiai-You understand tsumugi could easily destroy that level of gauna on her own. The captain comes down on her lift and says I'm giving you permission for advanced deployment.
I want to see more of what this hybrid can do. Ochiai-Thank you. You will not be disappointed captain. Captain-We shall see. As they prep for combat nagate is on his way to his guard then he presses a button on his coms and says Kunato, tsumugi will be right behind you and be careful. Tsumugi says ok then she activates her thrusters and flies off towards the gauna. As she heads off the guards are outfitted with new rails guns with max ammo capacity then are moved to the launch tube, as they prep tsumugi approaches the gauna the crew informs yuhata the gauna units are getting into a circular formation…sudden ena expansion their connecting their cores are starting to link together. Yuhata-Somethings not right…Ah it's a trap tsumugi fall back now. Tsumugi activates her thrusters but by then its is to late she runs into the opening then it closes capturing her. Yuhata-What is that?
Crew-It's a net created from ena. Tsumugi has been caught inside the gauna. Heigus transmission is being blocked by the ena we've lost communication with tsumugi. Yuhata-Dam it, What's the statis on the guard squad. Crew-There in the launch tubes now. Nagates mech is brought into the tube then as the engine finishes powering up he twists the hand and his mech goes flying out of the tube. Once out he joins up with the other guard squad then samari says ninety-six clasp formation and all the pilots say roger. As link hands nagate says in his mind hang on tsumugi were coming then the guard squad blasts off towards the gauna.
