Yuhata orders the guard squad to deploy at once and get into assault formation to take down the gauna units that were released. The pilots say roger then they slow down to release and get into position as yuhata tells them to fire as soon as they can before the gauna form another netting structure. The guards form into four separate groups then the front units open fire as gauna enter the range of the core piercing rounds then samari orders the rear units to target the missed units and fire at the closest range possible before they get close.
The pilots say roger then they lift up their guns samari orders them to fire. On the bridge yuhata tells them to stay back and to not engage in close combat then she gets an alert on the monitor. The crew inform yuhata the gauna that's holding tsumugi is expanding and try to see what's going on but then all of sudden the netting structure disintegrates. The event shocks everyone including nagate and the pilots then yuhata asks is the hybrid is ok. The crew scan for her then one of them manages to find her.
Relief fills nagates and izanas heart as they hear she's ok then yuhata sees alerts coming up asks are you injured you need to pull back now can you hear me respond. Tsumugi doesn't answer making Ochiai ask tsumugi why aren't you answering? Tsumugi-No…I won't I. Ochiai-What I can't hear you. Tsumugi-No I will never what the gauna did to me was unspeakable I will never let them do that not to my friends…I can still fight. After hearing her nagate and the rest of the crew are shocked at what she said then Ochiai says stop tsumugi this is not your call besides you've sustained heavy damage you can't fight anymore now leave the rest to the guard squad. Tsumugi-Please forgive me for ignoring your orders. I will destroy the gauna by myself. Yuhata-Tsumugi don't do this fall back. Tsumugi ignores her then looks at the gauna attacking the guard squad. She powers up her thrusters then zooms off towards the gauna with Ochiai trying to get her to stop and yuhata asking the statis on the guard squad. The crew tell her three units received heavy damage and the others moderate damage and gauna 550 is closing in on them. Back with nagate he continues firing at the gaunas then moves out of the way to avoid getting hit by them and as he adjusting to fire, he sees tsumugi come flying in and attack the gauna. She manages to take out five of them but the gauna use their tentacles to smack her away like a bug, but she retaliates and continues to attack the gauna.
Nagate yells at her to fall back but she doesn't listen and continues to attack but in doing so the gauna manage to get the upper hand and surround her. Nagate manages to destroy some but the remaining gaunas surround tsumugi and ends up blocking his shot. He replies dam It I might hit tsumugi then he sees a guard unit break off and says izana what are you doing. Izana doesn't hear him and goes rushing in firing her cannon at the gauna holding tsumugi, she gets free then tsumugi continues attacking the gauna. Izana flies near her trying calm her down until disaster strikes a gauna strikes her unit with its tentacle damaging it and causing injury to her and it makes tsumugi stop. Nagate watches in horror with tears coming down his eyes and sees images of them together flash before his eyes then he yells IZANA and rushes off to go save her including tsumugi. Nagate ejects his gun barrel extension and shoots the gauna blocking his way. Samari orders him back, but he doesn't listen and arrives at the damaged guard. He leaves his cockpit then notices izana cockpit is damaged shut, he begins pulling at it and tugging but can't be opened.
He then activates his phasor sword from his arm and is about to cut in but hesitates because he doesn't know where to cut without hurting izana. He slams his fist down then tsumugi comes up from behind putting her hand on izanas guard then while crying says nagate this is all my fault. Nagate puts his hand over hers and says it ok tsumugi. Ochiai-You finally regained your sanity tsumugi so pull back now. Tsumugi-Father I'm so sorry. The crew inform yuhata the second group of gauna have been destroyed by the guard squad then yuhata orders tsumugi to tow izana and fall back. Tsumugi replies understood then heads towards Sidonia while nagate rejoins the squads and after giving the order the crew inform yuhata that gauna 550 is still on course for Sidonia. Yuhata-Guard squad reestablish your attack formation to intercept gauna 550. Pilots-Roger. Crew-Were projecting an uneven concentration of cores at the center of gauna 550 torso all units establish a circler formation. Samari-copy all units establish a circular formation and once in range fire. Pilots-roger. All the guard units form a circle around the gauna then one by one they begin destroying the cores. As they fire nagate says in his head somethings not right and yuhata saying please don't let anything more happen then disaster strikes. The crew inform yuhata gauna center begins to open up and she order them to rush the analysis. She orders the guards to hold their fire and put some distance between the gauna. Samari says understood and the remaining guards fall back then they look towards the gauna center as they see red tentacles in the center of it. Mr. Sei-Is it possibly creating another netting structure. Tsuruuchi-I don't want to get swallowed by anything like that I spent enough time inside a gauna. Nagate looks towards it wondering what it's doing then his on-board computer picks up something forming in the middle then he says wait is that what I think it is. The crew are still analyzing what the gauna is doing then they get an alert on monitor from nagate and yuhata replies to him what is it nagate? Nagate-The gauna is forming a heigus particle cannon with its reaming cores. Yuhata-It's what? Tsuruuchi-A heigus particle cannon how did you know it was forming that?
Nagate-Because when gauna 487 attacked us it did the same thing. The gauna must form the cannon as a last resort but the question is why though? Mr. Sei-It must want to take down Sidonia. Nagate says in mind no theirs more to it then that. We're missing something I just know it then the Crew says Rapid rise in gaunas 550 heigus particle concentration. Yuhata-What kind of damage if that thing fires? Crew-Were projecting that all of Sidonia defenses will defiantly be destroyed. Yuhata-No it can't be…all guard units charge that opening you can't let it fire. Samari-Copy that. All the guards charge the gaunas opening and begin firing at it but to no avail. En-The surrounding walls are blocking the way. Ren-We have to try and get closer to the front. Mr. Sei-We can't the tentacles may come out if we get to close. All units continue firing at that opening hurry. By then it's too late the gauna finishes its charge then fires a massive laser beam towards Sidonia destroying several guards and the pilots fearing they are about to lose their home.
From afar tsumugi sees the beam heading for the ship then Ochiai ask her why she's stopping, tsumugi doesn't reply to him but instead says izana close your eyes. Izana says her name in a soft tone then in secs tsumugi converts her ena into a massive shield and diverts the beam making it miss Sidonia. The crew and pilots are shocked at what just happened then Yuhata says It missed how? Crew-Its trajectory changed where it made contact with tsumugi and unit shinatose. Mr. Sei- Did, did they change its trajectory. Samari-Did the hybrid bend the beam? They then hearing crying over the radio and notice its nagate then they hear from him saying no please not again. The crew then inform the squads they have lost contact with them making nagate cry even more then are informed the gaunas heigus particles are rising once again.
Samari says we better stop it this time then she forms up with her squad to prepare to fire while the captain gives the order to perform emergence evasive maneuvers. The crew recalculate the damaged projections for when they turn, and it still would result in Sidonia getting destroyed. After nagate sees the results, he gets mad then quickly forms a plan in his head and quickly releases his rail gun then flies off with everyone watching. Ren-Nagate what are you doing? En-Are you running away? Nagate yells in an angry tone EN SHUT UP AND TRUST ME then he quickly turns his mech around aiming it at the gauna then pushes the tsugumori speed to the limit. He goes flying towards the gauna at incredible speed passing the guards with ren yelling are you going to crash into the gauna then in secs nagate presses a button to release his guard's engine sending it flying towards the center of gauna. Nagate goes flying underneath using his mechs adjustment thrusters to avoid flying into the gauna and as he dos ren and en go after him. As they do nagates engine collides with the cannon making it explode and the gaunas center expands revealing the core. Samari gives the order to aim then they all fire at the same time and the shots penetrate the core making the gauna disintegrate. After seeing it destroyed yuhata then gives the order to search for survivors, meanwhile ren and catch up to nagate. He sits there holding himself in the cockpit with tears coming down then en asks are you ok. Nagate looks up with a fake smile saying I'm ok thank you. Ren-By golly your completely reckless. He then hears over the coms the statis is clear the threat has been eliminated all units continue searching for the two units we lost contact with. He reacts quickly and starts pressing his com button to contact her, but it tells him the transmission is disrupted. Izana wakens to nagate calling her name with her arm and leg hurting then says nagate, nagate hurry… help… please help me. Nagate-Izana hang on.
Izana with all her might says while in pain its tsumugi ah you have to help ...her then passes out from the loss of blood. A recovery team manages to find them and are shocked at what they see, tsumugi's body has been almost completely destroyed from the impact and izana guard is damaged to the core. They manage to separate the two and bring them to separate hangers, after arriving tsumugi is put in a healing tub and two doctors put izana on a gurney then they start to bring her to the hospital. As soon as nagate guard is parked in the hanger he gets out quickly pulling off his helmet then as soon as he's on the gantry he runs with tears in his eyes and yells clear a path. The pilots get out of the way as nagate runs by them then as soon gets to the entrance he sees izana being pulled away on the gurney and he rushes over tripping a bit. He sees her with a breathing mask slightly conscious then looks at the monitor and sees that her right and left leg have been wounded.
He looks back at her with tears and sadness then izana with what little energy she has lifts her left hand and says nagate I…he reaches for her hand then says Your going be ok and don't worry about tsumugi she's ok. Izana smiles then passes out, the doctors there say we need to hurry and nagate replies ok thank you for letting me see her. The doctors then carry izana off to the hospital then nagate leans against a wall with arm on his head crying in silence then he turns to see Kunato. Ochiai-Nagate are you alright is izana going to be ok. Nagate-Her arm and leg were badly hurt, I won't know till the doctors examine her. What about tsumugi how is she? Mozuku-Well she…She's lost ninety percent of her body tissue I'm afraid. Nagate-Oh no. Ochiai-Don't worry I promise I will restore tsumugi back to normal. Nagate-Ok but during the battle why didn't you launch your guards they could have helped. Ochiai-The blackguards were having some problems with the power source and were working to fix it. Nagate-I understand.
Ochiai then leaves for his lab while nagate stays there still sad meanwhile sei and samari talk about how tsumugi saved them then she hears Tsuruuchi yelling her name. She looks behind to see him running to her then immediately hug her while saying samari I'm so glad you're ok. Samari then gets angry and in angry tone says TSUURUCHI then she grabs him by the collar and just as she's about to punch him they hear something shatter. Samari replies What the hell was that then Tsuruuchi while still being held samari points behind her and says ah guys. They turn to see nagate has smashed the window with his robotic hand and is angry, he then turns his head up looking towards the pilots with a sad look then leaves to go to the locker room hours later he arrives at the hospital with yuhata and to see izana and when he sees izana he saddens even more.
He sits down on the bed then yuhata says that seems like ah pretty bold decision going with the mechanical prosthetic. Izana-My grandma recommended it. Since biological regeneration would take too long it may take me some time. Mrs. Hiyama replies don't worry you'll get use to them before you know it and their so useful to as she spins her claw. Izana lifts up her robotic hand then she separates her fingers surprising Hiyama and yuhata. Yuhata then says your doing so well I'm really glad when will get discharged. Izana-I'm ready to go home today. I was wondering how's tsumugi doing?, Before they could answer izana feels tears on her hand and sees nagate crying then asks nagate what's the matter. He looks up with tears in his eyes then he leans over and hugs her tightly then says I thought I was going to lose you. Izana blushes slightly then hugs him back while smiles and yuhata jealously grows stronger, eventually izana is released from the hospital and nagate takes her to Kunato development to show her something.
Upon arriving she sees dozens of flowers near the door and colored pictures of tsumugi from children saying thank you for protecting Sidonia. Izana-So many messages. Nagate-Yeah, it looks like people are starting to love tsumugi more. Izana-I'm glad they are. They then enter the compound and when they see tsumugi in her tube they are saddened more. Nagate-She's regenerated more since last time I saw her. Izana-I hope shell be, ok? Nagate replies to me to. Come on we shouldn't stay long there isn't much we can do here and izana replies ok. After leaving they arrive at a balcony then they both lean up against a railing and izana says I wish there was a way I could thank tsumugi.
Nagate-yeah, Izana-You ok nagate you seem a bit distracted? Nagate turns to her and starts to speak but ends up stuttering and tears up again. Nagate-Izana I…I thought that you were…I thought you weren't going to make it. Izana takes his hand sand says hey I'm not going anywhere. After hearing her say that he smiles then izana says I got you something a few days a go and wanted to surprise you, but I guess now is ok.
She reaches into her pocket pulls out case and opens it revealing a small stainless steel bar pendant necklace with decorations on it. He pickups it up then says you got this for me it's beautiful then he notices something engraved in Japanese on the pendant 私はあなたのことをいつまでも愛しますand ask what does this mean. Izana puts the necklace around his neck then puts her hand on his chest and then in a cute tone says it means I will always love you then kisses him on the lips making nagate embrace her. Mins later ren and ro come walking down the stairs and they catch them in the act and yell you two are a couple? Nagate and izana separate with their jaws dropped and faces red then before they could say anything ren says in a cheery voice congrats guys how long have you been together? Izana replies before the asteroid battle making ren and ro drop their jaws then after nagate lets his necklace go he holds on to izanas hand and says can you two not tell anybody about us we want to keep it a secret for now. Ren walks with ro and they both put each of other hands on nagate and izana then they say in unison it will be our secret. Together nagate and izana smile then step forward to hug them both and say thank you. After separating ren and ro leave to go home while nagate and izana head for the dorms, upon arriving nagate thanks her again for the necklace then heads for the café to go eat while izana heads to bed.
As nagate eats yuhata tells about the colony ship that was absorbed by the gauna. - So the colony ship was attacked on its way back after dropping off the advanced party. Yuhata-yeah, -Well it's good to know that at least some people made it safely to planet seven. Yuhata replies Yes but there's a gauna cluster heading there straight for the lem star system then nagate comes up from behind and thanks Hiyama for the meal. -That's all your eating? Nagate-I'm just not that hungry have a good night. yuhata-good night…Is he doing ok? -He seems very sad when I see him. I wonder what he could be bothering him? Yuhata-Well he still hasn't figured out how he's going get back home but I think what really got him was that recent battle…I'm shore he will be ok but although it does make you worry. -Hm I used to know someone just like nagate a long time ago so I get a little worried to sometimes especially when I see him taking too much upon himself but im positive he'll soon be just fine give him some space he'll cheer up you'll see. As they continue talking nagate lays in his room tossing and turning then he pulls out the pendant izana gave him and while he looks at it, he feels a button, when he presses it, a small picture shows up revealing it to be them on the beach. He smiles then laughs a bit then after turning it off and manages to fall asleep, by the next day nagate heads over to Kunato development to check on tsumugi. As he walks in mozuku approaches him and asks if he's here to see tsumugi. Nagate replies with yes then Mozuku says Tsumugi has been transferred to the general basin most of her ena has regenerated were just waiting for her to regain consciousness. Nagate gets excited then says really all go see her now thank you and runs off towards the area. Upon arriving he sees giant tentacle in a cloud of pink mist then when he starts to walk forward towards the edge one of the tentacles moves and he goes to it.
He says out loud it moved then mins later he runs out happy and cheering all the way to the mess hall and upon arriving he sees izana with . They both turn to see him all excited then nagate says she moved izana she moved then he takes izanas hand and starts to dance with her. Izana says that's great then dances with them making Mrs. Hiyama smiles then laughs a bit at what they're doing. By the next day nagate visits again and ends up falling asleep where tsumugi is, in the dream he is standing on the ledge in the room then he sees a tentacle move and when he looks behind him, he sees his mom, as he looks at her, he says mom then she puts her hand on his cheeks and says his name while smiling.
As he dreams tsumugi sees the dream through her tentacles and is saddened about what he's seeing. He then wakes up to see tsumugi standing above him then she says good morning to him. Nagate- Good…Morning…Did I fall asleep? Tsumugi-Yes you were sleeping very soundly. Nagate then stands up laughs in excitement then your awake I'm so glade tsumugi, he then walks over and hugs her probe as tsumugi panics at what he's doing until izana walks in and is surprised at what's going on then she calls out her name. tsumugi-Oh izana your ok. Izana-Because of you tsumugi thank you.
Tsumugi-What a relief. Izana-mhm look once I heard you were awake, I brought him along. tsumugi-Ahhh it's a cat can I…can I touch it. Izana-Yes but be gentle. Tsumugi pets the cat with her tentacles and says its so soft and cute, Nagate and izana laugh at her response. Meanwhile on the bridge yuhata informs that captain that Sidonia is in the gauna clusters blind spot and will begin deceleration in a few days upon arriving at the lem star system. The captain replies with good then she asks how the hybrid is. Yuhata-Already regenerated she is currently be transferred to a special room on the outer hull. The captain replies good work then cshe loses down her monitor while yuhata looks at her tablet of the gauna cluster approaching the system. yuhata-Even if we included tsumugi into our current fire power we don't have enough to go up against the gauna cluster, dos the captain have some other plan to deal with it.
As she Conti plaints over the gauna cluster the captain talks with Ochiai's clone and he says after that battle the anti-hybrid movement lost a lot of its support. Kobayashi-I would imagine so and what about the other thing. Ochiai clone-Were about to enter the first phase of the testing process. Kobayashi-Tell professor Yuri I'm looking forward to seeing her process. Ochiai clone-Yes captain. As she turns to look out the window Ochiai clone then says There is something you most know captain. Kobayashi-What is it? He takes out a computer pad then pulls up a fuzzy image on the big screen and says are long range scanner detected this object when we got close to the lem star system. She sees a diamond object with a ring in the middle of it and says any idea what it is. Ochiai clone-No but mako believes it has something to do with that metallic disk you discovered within the pyramid artifact six hundred years ago. Kobayashi-How is that possible that artifact hasn't done anything except just play a hollow of static. Before Ochiai clone could say anything mako walks in and says it's because ever since we started heading to the lem star system it's been going off more frequently and it showed me something. Kobayashi-What did it show you? Mako grins and says It showed our victory against the gauna then the captain says how is that possible then mako continues explaining about what he saw. After telling her what he saw he leaves to go back to his lab and says in his head your reign over this ship will end soon and that victory I told you will be our victory then he heads out. Elsewhere nagate and izana visit tsumugi's new place and are a bit impressed with the view. Nagate-What you can see outside? Tsumugi-Yes. Izana-I guess this is slightly bigger than the room you had before. Tsumugi-Actually I really love reading so I don't mind the size at all. Izana replies with I see then tsumugi turns to nagate to see him with a sad face and asks is something wrong. Nagate-I was just thinking this was a bit far from the residential district.
Tsumugi-Well there's nothing I can do about that. Nagate-I understand. Tsumugi-Hey nagate I wanted to ask what's dos that letter, and number mean on your sweater. Nagate-I don't really know. When my caretaker gave it to me for my birthday, she said it was from an ancient video game from the twenty first century and it was one of the last few relics from my earth. Tsumugi tightens her grip around the book she's holding and says I'm sorry nagate I didn't know but nagate puts his hand on her prob and replies its ok tsumugi. She smiles then after putting her book back nagate tells her they have to head out, Tsumugi says good bye to them then after leaving izana notices something up with nagate and asks what is it nagate you've been quiet this whole time? Nagate-Tsumugi being alone out here reminded me of living on the station I was raised on. Izana thinks for a moment then says ah lets asks yuhata if we can bring tsumugi to the residential district.
Nagate-That's a good idea she might just let us even if it's for a little while. They rush to the bridge quickly and when ask yuhata the question but after hearing it she gets furious at it. Yuhata yells What kind of stupid question is that making the crew look at what's going on, she quickly lowers her voice and says of course you can't even if you could the gravity is unstable right now. What would we do if there was an accident don't be ridiculous? Izana bows her head saying were very sorry while nagate stands there with an upset look then says find then I guess will find another way then he grabs izanas hand and pulls her off down the hallway leaving yuhata surprised at his reaction. After leaving the bridge nagate stands by an entrance then izana ask are you alright nagate you sounded a bit upset. Nagate turns to her in frustrations and says of course I'm up set tsumugi is all alone out there and yuhata won't do anything about. She starting to sound more like the captain. Izana-Well she is right though an accident could happen when they fire the thrusters.
Nagate-Yeah maybe anyways I got to go there's something I need to do. Izana-Same here I've got guard training with my grandma. Nagate replies ok be careful while training then he kisses her on the cheek and heads out while izana says in her head I wish I could tell you the truth nagate, but they hurt you if I told you then she heads off. Mins later nagate shows up near makos lab from a distance in his casual clothes from his pod and as he's near the edge he hears someone walking up from behind. He pulls out his blaster but lowers it after seeing who it is. Nagate-Ren you made it did you make shore you weren't followed? Ren replies no I made shore to cover my trail then goes to the ledge. Ren-So what's your plan once your inside? Nagate-I'm going to search all the lab's once I'm inside. There's got to be something there linking to titan or anything to the blackguards. Ren-How will you get in though? Nagate replies through there as he points to the vents. Ren-Your shore that will work? Nagate-Defiantly I did it last time when I snuck on to my ship. Ren-You snuck on to your ship? Nagate-It was when the captain didn't let me go to it. Ren-I see. Nagate pulls out a computer from his bag then says alright I've set my helmet camera to link with this tablet so you can watch the feed. Ren replies ok then after nagate puts his helmet on ren grabs his arm and says be careful.
Nagate replies I will then he fires his grappler at the vent, reels up to it and climb in it. Once inside he crawls through the narrow vent and slides down different passages until he comes across a hallway and jumps down. Ren-Anybody there? Nagate-No there's nobody here but that's not the weird part? Ren-What's the weird part. Nagate-This place looks like it was abandoned years ago the paints degrading, the walls are falling off and the lights aren't even on its giving me the creeps a bit. Ren-Why would mako go to an abandoned research center if there nothing there it makes no sense. Nagate thinks for a moment then says It's because there is a research lab here the destroyed one is just a cover, so people won't go snooping around here. I'm betting there's a secret entrance somewhere leading to the real one. He starts to feel the wall around him then he feels a lever and pulls it revealing to be the secret entrance. Nagate-I found it. Ren-How did you know there was a secret entrance?
Nagate slides down the entrance while saying a while a go izana, yuhata and me had accidently found an entrance similar to the one I just open and it led to one of Ochiai's abandoned research labs. Ren gulps then says Ochiai's lab did…did you find anything creepy there. After nagate gets off the slide he starts to walk around then says we only found a few blueprints and a drej stinger. Ren-Wait a drej stinger you mean the craft that attacked your earth? Nagate-Yes. Ren-what was it doing there? Nagate-Most likely Ochiai was trying to adapt the technology so he could make his own version of an energy or organic hulls for ships and guards. Ren gets a bit frighten at what he says then she asks have you find anything yet, nagate replies no there's nothing here that could prove he sent those people after me then he spots something familiar in a scanning box and walks over to pick it up. Nagate-what the, another one? Ren-What is nagate? Nagate-Its another disk artifact. Ren-Like the one you have?
Nagate replies Yeah but this one is different then as looks at it a hologram comes out of it making him jump back and dropping the disk. His camera shuts down making Ren ask what happened over the radio, but he doesn't answer as he's still shocked as the hologram shows a humanoid female alien and it begins saying something. The alien says with static To all approaching ships from the…this is renho of spa…project trinity has failed… the weapons have…I have shut down the systems to the dim…so they can not cross over to…then the hologram shuts down and his camera reactivates. Ren-what happened nagate I lost your signal for a few secs. Nagate-I…I don't know what I saw. It was an alien trying to warn about something. Ren-An alien like the gauna? Nagate-No this one wasn't like the gauna the alien was almost humanoid. Ren-How is that possible? Nagate-I don't know but I recognize something she said project trinity. Ren-Project trinity what's that? Before nagate could answer he notices something small cut his left arm and he goes into defense by getting into ready position and pulling out his blaster.
Ren asks what's wrong but nagate doesn't answer then in secs something rushes forward to attack him but nagate manages to catch it before it could hurt him. Nagate replies what the, a robot then the small robot begins attacking his arm but nagate manages to deactivate it by sending an electric shock through it. Ren-What is it nagate what's wrong? Nagate replies looks like this lab had a small robotic guard protecting it then ana alarm goes off. Nagate-Ah crap it must have set off the alarm before I could deactivate it. Ren-you better get out of there fast. Nagate puts the small robot in his bag then he quickly grabs the disk artifact and makes his way back to the entrance and once out he climbs through the vents and escapes the lab before mako shows up. Nagate comes up behind ren nearly scaring her then she asks him if he alright. He replies I'm ok, but we need to get out of here and grabs ren hand quickly to leads her away. They get to a safe distance then ren asks what the heck is going on nagate , what exactly happened in there.
Nagate-I think we may have stumbled upon a clue about the gaunas origin? Ren-Are you shore? Nagate-I'm not entirely positive but I'm shore. The alien message seemed to warn about something, and it could be about the gauna but the message looked corrupt all need time to analyze it. Ren-Wont mako know you stole it? Nagate-Possibly but if he comes after me again all be ready. Ren-We should probably head back before anybody wonders where we are. Nagate replies with true then as he is walking away, he yells all inform the others about what I found the ren yells what about that robot?
