End of AN!

"Why don't you tell me something about your life before," Harry said kindly, as he had daily for the past week now (on suggestion from Healer Burk).

"My aunt Lennie was a witch - my mom and uncle aren't, though," Terra began, slow and uncertain - like she doubted the very facts she was recalling. The potions she was taking daily now may have cleared her mind up a great deal, but her memories themselves were still...unfortunately spotty. Disconnected and vague, after all this time in her current state. "My mom was always...really overwhelmed by it all, I guess. So was dad. And my aunt, she never took to it except for some of the more convenient parts of magic - mainly Apparition; she loved getting to pop around the countryside whenever she wanted, or getting to work or the gym real early. But besides that, she enjoys keeping her life how it is: all normal."

"And what about your uncle?" Harry asked cautiously, thinking about his own. He shifted on the bed in the spare room of Grimmauld Place - Terra's room (not that she could do much with it, but it was hers).

To his surprise, Terra laughed. "Uncle Patton, funnily enough, latched onto it all through Aunt Lennie by proxy. Real hard. He got her to show him how to get into Diagon Alley when they were kids, and he's been going there all by himself ever since. He's always been involved in magical society, as much as he can be. He loves it all. He loves the places, the magic, the cultures...the people. That's how he met his husband; you have no idea how thrilled he was that there was this whole world he could just live in and be accepted by, no questions asked."

Harry blinked. He nodded and smiled. "I bet that was really...erm - relieving, yeah."

"Yeah. It's too bad they married before I was born, or I could have gone to the wedding," Terra murmured jokingly. "From all the pictures they have, it was incredible."

"That does sound great," Harry agreed, thinking back to the only magical wedding he'd ever been a part of - two years ago, now. He gazed at Terra, hesitating before speaking again. He wasn't sure about this, and he was also reluctant to interrupt her now that she was doing so well with conversing and remembering things. "Err, listen, Terra, I don't mean to...I mean, it's none of my business and-"

"What is it?"

"Just...if you have an aunt who's a witch, and an uncle who's a- mage enthusiast-" Harry quirked his lips as he went on. "-why couldn't you have gone and stayed with either of them?"

"Before or after my own parents kidnapped me in the middle of the night and dumped me out in the countryside?" Terra replied, voice dripping with sudden venom - and with a deep bitterness and sorrow. "Not that I blame them for that - most of the time," she went on, much quieter. Present, aware, and...thoughtful. "They were- they were muggles, and they didn't get any help with me; it was just, 'Hey, your daughter is cursed to become a snake forever someday, sorry!' and after that it was, 'We found your daughter, she's stuck this way, good luck with that!' There wasn't any support from the magical world. The Ministry just dumped me back with them, told them to keep me in the house and never tell anyone the truth about me. My parents told all my muggle friends and family that I ran away. What were they even supposed to do with me? I don't...blame them for that...much. And the friends I had at my magical school never bothered coming over either; some of them knew where I lived! Nobody ever came to see me...nobody ever..."

"But," Harry started quietly. "I mean, you still had your aunt and uncle, right? Surely they would've helped you? Taken you in gladly, from how you talk of them both?"

Terra set her head down on the mattress again. "Well, considering that they didn't...no."

"Did you ever tell them you would have liked to try and move in with them?"

"No. But they never offered, either..."

"I- I'm sure they would have, if you maybe asked. You could still...look them up, get in contact with them now, can't you? Would you want me to help you with that?"

Terra was quiet for a minute. "I guess we could give it a try. But I don't want to go with them now; I'm used to being with you. I like...being with you, Harry. It's warm here, you're- warm to be next to..."

Harry eyed her, his face burning. "I am? O-oh. Well...thanks. I can honestly say I've never gotten complimented on that before."

"No, sorry - sorry - it was a dumb thing to say!" Terra said quickly, voice tinged with embarrassment. "Forget about it!"

"It wasn't dumb," Harry refuted, smiling at her. "Thank you, really. I like- being with you, too. I'm used to you too," he added swiftly.

"No, no, no." Terra reared her head back and then stuck it under the blankets, burrowing. "It was weird; I'm weird. It's just weird now. Please let's just forget it!"

Harry grinned to himself. "Okay."

They sat in silence for several minutes. A nice, comfortable one.

A warm one.

Till Terra spoke again, still hidden under the blankets.

"There were so many things I wanted to do with my life. Not important things, not big things - but still things. And now I'll never be able to do them. No matter how much help I get."

"What things did you want to do?" Harry asked.

"I wanted to be a figure skating champion; I wanted to dye my hair purple; I wanted to- a whole bunch of embarrassing girl things you wouldn't understand!"

"I might not, but if you still want to get these things off your chest, I'm still here to listen, Terra."

"Oh - I wanted to get up the confidence to wear my first bikini; I wanted to explore myself and- well- sex, you know; I wanted to wear a long green dress and I wanted to have a slow dance with someone I fell in love with - some hypothetical, future somebody that now I'll never get to! Maybe I wanted to try surfing, or rock climbing, or experiment with crazy makeup choices...but I can't do any of that now. Not ever." Terra lapsed into silence. Then, in a little whisper that was almost petulant: "I never even got my first kiss...and now I'll never get any kisses in my life."

"W-well...erm, maybe we could still help you to do- some of that. We could still- take you out on the water, or- or climb a mountain together," Harry said, encouraging. "You could even still...have that dance, even if it won't- exactly be the way you might have envisioned it before. And, hey, maybe you could pull off a nice makeup...look?"

Terra's long, thick body wriggled on the bed as high giggles emerged. "Sure, let's cake this mouth in lipstick! Let's smear these eyes in eyeshadow! I could be risqué and get a tail piercing."

"You could," Harry said, laughing too.

"Well, OK, maybe. But what about all the rest?" Terra replied seriously. "Nobody is going to ever...fall in love with me; I'm like the frog prince in fairy tales - except I'm a snake that could eat a big fat deer...or a person. Everyone reads those stories and thinks it's all romantic and brave to kiss the frog prince, but no one would ever actually do it themselves. And forget about sex! Even if the frog were a person inside, all they'd see is the animal. And I can't blame anyone for that, either. It's depressing, though - not that I'm not already depressed, but you get what I mean..."

Harry's heart ached for her as silence fell again between them again. A heavy, cold one. As he tried to wrack his brains to think about what to possibly even say to her, his subconscious beat him to it - and came out with something that even surprised him.

"I'd- kiss you."

Terra slowly withdrew from the blankets, and she looked at him, head cocked. "What?"

As Harry met her gaze, he decided. Decided he wanted to do this for her. He had had sex with numerous nonhumans before, even a gelatinous blob! This wasn't going to be too different. She was a girl with the body of a magical serpent, that was all. And it was just a kiss! A kiss that he hoped would just...cheer her up, help her, somehow. Give her at least one...one lost dream back again. One lost dream fulfilled, here and now. To show her that it wasn't so hopeless, that her future wasn't so- so terribly bleak as she thought!

"I could kiss you, if you wanted that," Harry said quietly. "I wouldn't mind kissing the frog princess. I dunno about any other tossers around the world, but I know I'm not afraid to do it. And I'd do it for you, Terra."

A quickness to his heartbeat. A stillness in the air.

"Yeah, this is just getting weirder..." Terra muttered, her voice very flushed.

"I mean it," Harry insisted. "At least then you could say you did one thing on your list, right? And maybe that means you could do more. I want to prove it to you."

Terra lifted her head, raising herself up higher with her long, weighty body. She slithered forward and leaned in until they were practically eye to eye. Nose to...snout. "Ok, prove it," she said, clearly not believing him at all.

Well, Harry would fix that in just a moment here...

He was determined, now.

And once Harry Potter got determined, nothing would stop him.

He took a moment to breathe, to gather his courage, and then he reached out to touch her face. He stroked her, he grasped her chin and rubbed with a thumb, and then he leaned in and kissed her.

It was...really awkward, yeah, okay, Terra was right on that one.

But Harry still had done it - was doing it.

He kissed her, and he held her, and he locked eyes with her the whole way through.

At some point she pressed to his lips, and flicked her tongue out to brush his lips.

Harry responded by sticking his out; she parted her jaws slightly, and he slipped into her mouth and rubbed her insides before he withdrew.

He really needed to breathe. He let her go and sat back, watching her with a grin he couldn't help. "So? How about that? How was your first kiss, Terra?"

"It was so weird - but, thank you so much for that weirdness..." she choked out.

Over the course of the next month, Harry knew Terra was considering...so much more than a kiss.

Not that he hadn't given her more kisses, whenever she asked - at first, so tentatively and so awkwardly, but then, so casually and so happily - but they both knew that...Terra longed for more. What she had never had a chance to have. Would never, maybe, if not for...

If not for Harry suggesting it to her one day, outright, voicing what they kept dancing around.

What Terra called "flat out madness and wickedly disgusting lewdness."

Still, as much as she kept calling Harry "completely insane", she was quite quick to agree to partake in his brand of madness. To go along with it, and adopt it herself.

This was how Harry ended up laying naked on her bed, kissing her and stroking her length as she coiled her body loosely around his waist.

This was also how she ended up sticking her slim tail end up his arse, penetrating him thoroughly and strongly - Harry had suggested it from his experiences before, and she had called him weird, predictably, but had also sort of excitedly declared her interest in performing the act. "For the crazy lewdness of it, and because you told me to still experiment!"

She broke their kiss after a minute. She twisted around to move her head down his body, and flicked her tongue over his cock head. She opened her jaws and took his erection into her throat. A mouth with, not piercing venomous fangs, but soft gummy-like nubs; they'd been safely transfigured for safety itself before starting this whole thing, of course (neither of them were that crazy). Terra sucked him off and deep throated him, her tongue licking at his shaft's underside.

Harry held and stroked her head as he fucked up at her, moaning as she fucked his arse hard. Soon enough he was jerking and spasming, gasping as he came in her throat, hard and spurting. She swallowed his cum and withdrew. Then she removed her tail from him, eliciting another long gasp out of Harry. She moved her head back up to rest her chin on his chest, her jaws drizzling with cum strands. Harry stroked her head and held her, breathing ragged in aftermath of...well, of sheer madness.

"Thank you so much," Terra breathed. She hesitated. "I know it's not even close to the same as with a real girl, and it's pathetic how little I can even do for you-"

"No. It's fine," Harry said quickly. "You were great. You're an amazing girl, Terra. Thank you. And I don't really- care what you can do for me, okay? I was doing it because you wanted to, and I wanted to do it for you."

She lay silent for a minute. Then she nodded. "Ok...thanks. But now that the post sex madness is over, can we pretend it never happened?"

"Yeah - if that's what you want," Harry agreed easily.

"Thanks," she reiterated. She paused. "I just wish I could have felt half as good as you looked..." she went on, mournful. "I can't even remember my last cum. I miss orgasms, too..."

"I'm really sorry," Harry told her sincerely.

Terra gave a heavy sigh, and let her head slide off his chest to flop on the bed. "It's OK."

"No, it's clearly not," Harry replied gently. "I'm sorry that this- this whole thing was just a terrible idea, yeah? It's just- reminding you of what else you still can't do now. And I'm so sorry for that. I shouldn't have...made you feel that kind of pain."

"It's really fine with me," Terra answered dully. "I'm used to living this way by now."

Harry didn't doubt that.

But he also didn't doubt that he had given her hope the past few weeks - only to dash that hope with stark clarity of her reality again.

And he hated himself for doing that to her.

Really, what was he doing with her?

He felt awful and guilty now, in aftermath of his pleasures.

Pleasures he'd taken in, but hadn't given her.

Pleasures she...could never have, really.

Harry closed his eyes. "I'm sorry," he told her again.

"It's fine."

Harry knew it wasn't.
