"Where are we going?" Kate laughed. She was traipsing around the jungle, Jack leading her by the hand. She'd agreed to a date with him but in a jungle in the 70's didn't leave many options for a date.
"You'll see," he turned around to offer her a smile. He'd racked his brain to find a perfect date for her. He had one chance to win her back. He lead her to the bottom of a waterfall, a secluded area to swim.
"This is beautiful," she whispered, looking around.
Jack grabbed Kate and jumped into the water, fully clothed. They splashed and swam in the water for a long time, their bodies brushing against each other. Kate didn't remember the last time she'd felt so free.
"Jack, this was a pretty amazing date," Kate said, her legs wrapped around his waist in the water.
"This wasn't exactly the date I planned…"
"What do you mean?"
"Follow me." He grabbed her hand and lead her again.
"Is this—" she gasped when they reached the cave that went behind the waterfall. It was open and hidden all at once. There was a picnic setup inside as well as blankets and pillows. "This is the date?"
"Yeah. I mean, there aren't a lot of options… I had…"
"I love it," she cupped his face with both hands "this is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me." She kissed him gently at first, but he grabbed the nape of her neck and kissed her. When he pulled away, he unpacked the picnic lunch, making a small spread of fruits, vegetables and cheeses. He pulled out two champagne flutes and a bottle of bubbly. They got lost in conversation as the nibbled and sipped their picnic lunch. Kate grabbed a strawberry, biting into it and holding it for him to bite, their lips meeting in the middle. The innocent kiss set them off, connecting like magnets. They shed their clothes and moved to the blankets and pillows.
Jack laid down on the blanket, pulling Kate down with him. She let herself slide down his as she lowered herself; he grunted at the way she took all of him in. She continued to slide up and down his length, her hands on his chest to steady her balance. Jack groaned loudly, the echos bouncing off the walls in the cave but drowned out by the sound of the waterfall. Kate moved her hands to his knees, leaning back so he could get a full view of her breasts. He took advantage and grabbed her waist, moving her back and forth. She scratched his chest as she came, her claw marks bright red against his flesh. He held her hips down as he spilled inside of her. Once her body reached its peak, she slid off and collapsed against him.
"That—" Jack started, sounding shocked.
"Don't sound so surprised. You left blankets and pillows," she teased.
"I thought the water from the waterfall would hit the rocks," he lied. Kate studied him, honestly unsure if he was lying or not.
"Let's take advantage for a minute," she suggested, putting pillows under his head and covering them with blankets. She laid her head on his chest.
"Your shampoo smells different."
"Yeah, it's 70's scented," she joked, glancing at him to check his reaction. She chuckled when she saw him laugh. After only a few minutes of silence, they both fell asleep, exhausted from sex and comforted by each other.
"Jack!" Kate cried. "We fell asleep!" When they got to the opening of the cave they realized it was dark outside.
"We can't go back, not in this darkness."
"We've gone out in the dark a million times."
"Kate, it's 1977. The jungle we knew isn't there yet. We don't know what's out there."
"You think they'd notice if we stayed all night?"
"I don't care if they do; I don't care if they know I'm still in love with you."
"Jack, we should talk about that…I think…If we would… I just want to go slow. Actually date."
"Actually date?" He laughed.
"What if we rushed because of Aaron? Maybe it was too much too soon…"
"We can go slow. We can go fast. I just want us to go."
Kate glanced back into the darkness before kissing Jack. She moved his hands to her waist, slowly moving backwards, her lips never leaving his.
