"Shhh," Kate giggled, covering Jack's mouth with her hand as he pushed her against the brick wall, hidden between two houses and blanketed with shadows. "They'll hear you."

"So?" Jack whispered, glancing around for any trace of another person.

"They'll know… about us…"

"Kate," he smiled "half of them think we've been sleeping together this entire time and the other half were wishing we would this entire time."

Kate bit her lip, trying to contain the smile. This felt right, being back. Being with him. Hell, even being in the 70's felt right. Because Jack felt right. She could still feel his touch all over her body; she could practically feel him inside her, taking her. She pulled him into a heated kiss, pushing him against her until she was pinned between him and a brick wall.

"They'll find out," he whispered, kissing her nose and moving past her to return home. Kate watched him as he walked away, watched the boyish grin and glance back at her. She loved the way he made her feel. In his eyes, she was the most precious thing. To him, she was good, the kind of good she wished she could be.

Jack snuck in, the small noises he made overpowered by Hurley's snoring. He laid in his bed, hard at the memories with Kate. He glanced out his window, wishing he could catch a glimpse of Kate at her window. He had, once. He'd watched her water flowers, giving each one attention and touching the leaves and petals with the tips of her fingers. He noticed how careful and lovingly she cared for it, the way she cared for everything.

Next door, Kate snuck in, holding her hand over the door as she closed it. She crept down the hall and into her room. She let her hand slide under her panties as she bit her lip, her mind replaying memories of their night together. It didn't take long for her to finish and it took even less time for her to fall asleep.

The next morning, Kate and Jack sat across from each other, swirling their utensils without eating and exchanging hidden glances.

"You guys banged," Hurley hollered before he even sat down. His voice boomed, making everyone stare.

"What?" Kate practically shrieked.

"Kate," Hurley sighed. "You guys… you know…" he lowered his head and voice.

"Yeah, we did." Jack had a prideful grin when he glanced at Hurley. He didn't care who knew it. If anything, he knew every man was jealous. Not only was Kate beautiful, but she was kind, funny and a soldier.

Kate kicked him from under the table although she was only half mad. She had always been proud of it but being with Jack on the island, where he was the fearless leader made her beam.

"Does this mean she's gonna be staying overnight?" Hurley asked nervously. "We just… there's only one bathroom…"

"We'll manage," Jack chuckled. "We've gotten by on much less," he reminded them.

"We're also going slow," Kate glanced back and forth between the two men.

"What are we talking about?" Claire asked as she sat at the table with them.

"How Kate and Jack had sex!" Hurley burst.

"About time," Claire laughed. "Are you two moving in together?"

"We're taking it slow," Kate repeated.

"How much slower can it get?" Claire giggled.

"Dude, you guys have been together negative 30 years…" Hurley stared into space, letting it all process.

"What can I say? I'd travel through time to get to Kate," Jack grinned at Kate who rolled her eyes, but knew he was right. She also knew she'd do the same.
