Marvel Presents: Percy Jackson, the Sub-Mariner

"It's a bit of a long story." In which Percy Jackson is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Takes place throughout the whole saga. Also on AO3.

10. Author's Note

So … here is my first Author's Note. I kind of wanted to make this it's own little thing.

As you can probably tell, this is not your typical PJO and Marvel crossover. This is more like a "just Percy being inserted into the MCU" kind of thing, and I wanted him to take the mantle of the Sub-Mariner. As you might know, in Marvel Comics, that title goes to Namor McKenzie. He's also rumored to be in Black Panther 2, although that, is still just a rumor so far.

There's a big problem with merging the two universes, and most notably, the arrow points to the Norse gods. In the Riordan-verse let's say now, obviously, Norse gods exist and we can say they're much stronger than the Marvel Asgardians. Fun fact, Marvel Comics actually does have the Olympians in it too and they're considerably more powerful than the Asgardians. While Asgardians are more just like powerful beings that have a very long lifespan, Olympians are in fact, immortal beings from a higher plane of existence. Some of them even join the Avengers, most notably Ares and Hercules.

Also, Zeus is going to be in Thor 4.

So that brings us to Percy Jackson. With what all the Multiverse stuff going on right now in the MCU, I want you to think of this guy as more of a … variant. He's not the PJO Percy Jackson, he's another guy from another universe that we don't know about.

With that being said, these first 9 chapters are sort of like his "origin story". Like if he had an origin movie, these first 9 chapters would be it. Percy's presence in the MCU will alter a lot from the MCU timeline, so don't expect things to go exactly as they went in the MCU. I want to really shape this up, make this go a different way. At some point, I just HAVE to tackle what will be my favorite topic. In the comics, Atlantis and Wakanda aren't very … friendly to each other. At often times, they actually war each other. At some point in this story, Percy Jackson will find himself embroidered in all that.

But for now, I continue onto next part of this story: the events of Age of Ultron, which will be on this very same fanfic and not some brand new one, just so you guys know.
