Avengers Tower

New York

Inside the tower, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner can be seen working on the Cradle as their screen lit ip, signaling the current uploading of JARVIS onto the synthetic body. Clint and Natasha stood off to the side, their faces void of any emotion as they patiently waited for the end result. Eventually, though, Clint went under to work on his arrows.

"This framework is not compatible," Tony commented.

"The genetic coding tower's at ninety-seven percent. You have got to upload that schematic in the next three minutes," Bruce said.

"What … just do you think you're doing?" Percy demanded as he strode into the room, emphasizing every word as he was tailed by Wanda, Pietro and Steve.

"Oh, hey kid," Tony greeted casually. "I'd explain but I'm afraid it's a little too complex for you. Scientist talk, you know."

"I don't need to speak geekanese to understand when another Ultron situation is being created," Percy said. "You just don't learn, do you?"

"He's right," Steve agreed. "I'm only going to say this once."

"How about 'nonce'?" Tony retorted.

"Shut it down!" Steve ordered.

"Nope, not gonna happen," Tony clapped back.

"If you don't," Percy said, gripping his trident with both hands, "we'll just have to make you."

"Are you threatening us?" Bruce asked.

"I almost was kidnapped," Percy said. "So, you could say that I'm not in a good mood. You're lucky Ultron tried to take me and not someone like … Natasha." He glanced at the identified woman. "No offense."

Natasha looked mildly annoyed. "None taken."

"Great," Tony quipped. "You survived Ultron. Does not take away the fact that this has to be done."

"You don't know what you're doing," Steve said.

"And you do? She's not in your head?" Bruce asked, gesturing towards Wanda.

"I know you're angry," Wanda remorsefully replied.

"Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade," Bruce threatened.

Percy sipped towards Bruce and got in his face. "You're not touching a hair on that girl."

Bruce tilted his head. "And if I do?"

Percy scowled and gripped his trident so hard, his knuckles turned white. "You want to find out?"

"Oh, I'm sure you can handle me, but can you handle the other guy?" Bruce asked.

"I don't know, why don't you bring him out so we can see for ourselves?" Percy retorted.

"Guys, this is getting out of hand," Natasha interjected.

"Percy, you don't know what's coming," Tony said.

As everyone started to argue loudly over each other, Pietro decided he got bored of them and quickly disconnected the wires himself.

"No, no. Go on. You were saying?" Pietro mocked.

Underneath Pietro, the glass shattered and he fell right through.

"Pietro!" Wanda called.

"What? You didn't that see coming?" Clint abrasively told Pietro.

As the screen signaled and beeped that power loss was critical, Tony quickly tapped into the keyboard. "I'm rerouting the upload."

Steve threw his shield, destroying some of the computers. Tony put on his gauntlet and fired a repulser at Steve, sending him flying backwards. Tony's armor flew towards him, latching onto his back. Bruce tried to grab Wanda but Percy was there to kick him across the room, making him crash into the already broken computers, further destroying them.

"You okay?" Percy asked her.

Wanda nodded, before she looked up admirably at him.

"Ease it off, kid," Bruce growled. "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

"I don't you like now," Percy retorted.

Steve and Tony fought while Bruce walked towards Percy in a threatening manner, who twirled his trident in a circle in response.

"Go on, Brucie. Try something. I dare you."

Suddenly, Thor appeared in the picture and everyone was too far from him to stop him from leaping onto the Cradle and raised his hammer. Bruce yelled for him to wait but Thor paid him no mind as he summoned lightning to his aid and directed it towards the Cradle. The pop-up on the screen signaled power overload.

Thor stopped and for a second, it was quiet. Everyone stared at Thor and the Cradle, wondering what he just went and done. Suddenly the Crate exploded, sending Thor flying backwards and crashing. A body fleeted out of the Cradle and landed on one knee. Everyone stared at it as it rose to its full height, Percy gripping his trident as they all waited for the body to make the first move.

It attacked Thor, who shoved him aside and flung him, right through a glass and towards the window outside. The body halted itself just before it could crash through. They all made their way towards the other room where the new intruder was as the body stared at its reflection on the window, Thor signaling for them all to wait. They all got closer to him with cautiousness.

"I'm sorry. That was … odd," it finally spoke. It looked directly at Thor. "Thank you."

They watched as it created a flowing green cape for itself.

"Thor, you helped create this?" Steve questioned.

"I've had a vision. A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life and at its center is that," Thor said, pointing directly at the stone that in the middle of the figure's forehead.

"What is it?" Percy asked.

"It's the Mind Stone," Thor explained. "It's one of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities."

"Then why would you bring-"

Thor cut Steve off. "Because Stark is right."

"Oh, it's definitely the end times," Bruce commented.

"The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron," Thor said.

"Not alone," thew newcomer added.

The "Vision" walked over to them as Steve approached it. "Why does your 'vision' sound like JARVIS?"

"We … reconfigured JARVIS' matrix to create something new," Tony explained.

"I think I've had my fill of new," Steve retorted.

"You think I'm a child of Ultron?" Vision asked.

"You're not?"

"I'm not Ultron. I'm not JARVIS. I am … I am."

Wanda approached the Vision. "I looked in your head and saw annihilation."

"Look again."

"Yeah. Her seal of approval means jack to me," Clint muttered.

"Their powers, the horrors in our heads, Ultron himself, they all came from the Mind Stone, and they're nothing compared to what it can unleash," Thor explained. "But with it on our side-"

"Is it?" Percy questioned before turning to the Vision. "Are you … on our side?"

"I don't think it's that simple," Vision told Percy.

"Why not?" Percy asked, his voice genuine. "Lay it down for me, because I'm actually trying to understand. Why is it not that simple?"

"I am on the side of life. Ultron isn't, he will end it all," Vision explained.

"What's he waiting for?" Tony asked.

"You."

"Where?" Bruce asked.

"Sokovia," Wanda realized.

"'Upon this rock, I will build my church' he said," Pietro added. "He was talking about Sokovia."

"Your home country?" Percy asked.

"Yes," Wanda said.

Percy turned back to the Vision. "You better hope we're not wrong about you."

"If you're the monster Ultron made you to be …" Bruce added.

"What will you do?" Vision asked, but not in threatening tone, but rather in a … genuinely curious and debating tone. "I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the Earth, so he must be destroyed. Every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net, we have to act now. And not one of us can do it without the others. Maybe I am a monster. I don't think I'd know if I were one. I'm not what you are, and not what you intended. So there may be no way to make you trust me. But we need to go."

Suddenly, Vision picked up Thor's hammer and held it out for him. Everyone stared at Vision in shock, flabbergasted. Even Percy raised an eyebrow at Vision. Thor looked at the hammer oddly, probably not being used to having his hammer being given to him. He took the hammer and smacked his lips. "Right," he said and walked over to Tony to pat his shoulder. "Well done."

Steve looked at them all. "Three minutes. Get what you need."
