At the very same time, there seemed to be an attack happening on two fronts. A duo were going after the Mind Stone and another were going after the Time Stone.

Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian arrived at Bleecker Street, facing off against Doctor Strange, Wong, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner. Up north towards the Compound, the other two that were Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive attacked Vision.

Vision was on high alert, though, as he tried to contain both attackers while Rhodey tried to get into his suit.

Vision shot a beam at Corvus before dodging Proxima's swing at him. Both carried spears with them made of otherworldly metals, but nothing Vision couldn't phase himself against. Vision flew up and Rhodey attacked Corvus from behind, now in his armor. Despite the armor, Corvus was significantly stronger than him and practically swept him aside. While Corvus was busy, Vision shot a beam at Proxima, who simply deflected it off of her spear, turning it into three different rays that blazed through the grass, leaving a dark scorching line behind.

With Rhodey now on the ground, Corvus stepped to spear him, confident it would go through his armor like butter. But he never got to, as suddenly he was stuck and his spear remained high. He looked at what caused it and saw none other than Percy Jackson, who holding him trident-against-spear. Behind stood Wanda, who shot a ball of red energy at him and sent Corvus flying, sprawling all over the Compound lawn. They turned their attention to Proxima midnight, who lunged at Vision. The android hovered backwards before a flying force suddenly tackled and she was also sent sprawling. She stood up but was knocked down to the ground. Sam Wilson and Natasha Romanoff stood over them.

Two groups stood over the laid-out attackers. Percy, Wanda and Rhodey looked down at Corvus Glaive, the Atlantean with his trident at Corvus's throat. Natasha, Sam and Vision stood over Proxima, Vision's stone lighting up threateningly. It was a 3-on-1 battle for either of them and neither was liking their odds.

"We don't want to kill either of you," Natasha said to Proxima.

"But we will," Percy finished to Corvus.

Proxima glared at them all. "You won't get that chance."

"We'll be back," Corvus added. "And the next time, with an army."

A ship that hovered beamed down on them and picked up Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, and they floated back towards the ship before the ship flew out of sight and disappeared.

"Well … all that shit aside … it's really good to see you all again," Percy commented.

They all greeted each other with hugs and handshakes. Percy could really say that it was pleasure to be doing Avenger work again with his comrades, especially Sam and Nat. He had a polite greeting with Vision, who thanked him for aiding him before he went to Sam and Nat. Percy commented on Natasha's new bleached-blonde hair, to which she stated was a just used as a cover.

"I get it," Percy replied. "Nothing says 'I'm not me' more than dying your hair bleached-blonde."

"Shut up, Jackson."

"They're gonna be back," Rhodes warned.

"I do not doubt that," Vision said.

"Maybe we should have killed them?" Rhodey suggested.

"There's an attack in Midtown happening right now as well," Percy explained. "I think they're all together so it probably wouldn't have made much difference."

"How do you know?"

"Because I think there's something bigger at play here," Percy said. "These two are just lackeys. They're not the big bad, that guy is still out there somewhere."

"Maybe Steve can find about that," Natasha muttered.

"Where is Steve anyways?" Percy asked. "I thought you three became an inseparable trio."

"Steve is with the others in Midtown," Sam said. "I hope everything went well over there."

Minutes earlier

While Vision and Rhodey dealt with their own attack, the usual quartet faced off against the telekinetic Ebony Maw and the brute that was Cull Obsidian.

"Hear me, and rejoice," Ebony Maw began. "You are about to die at the hands of the Children of Thanos. Be thankful, that your meaningless lives are now contributing to …"

"I'm sorry, Earth is closed today," Tony interrupted. "You better pack it up and get outta here."

"Stonekeeper," Ebony replied, regarding Doctor Strange. "Does this chattering animal speak for you?"

"Certainly not. I speak for myself," Doctor Strange said, bringing out his magic shields. "But you're trespassing in this city and on this planet."

"It means get lost, Squidward!" Tony called out.

"He exhausts me," Ebony muttered, with Cull agreeing in his native language. "Bring me the Stone."

"Banner, you want a piece?" Tony said to Bruce.

"Mm, no, not really, but when do I ever get what I want?" Bruce muttered in reply.

"That's right."

"Okay, push!" Bruce yelled as he tried to transform. He got nothing, though.

"Been a while. Good to have you back, buddy," Tony commented.

Bruce continued to attempt to transform, his neck veins bulging in the attempt but the Hulk simply did not want to come out. "I just … I need to concentrate here for one second. Come on, come on, man."

Cull Obsidian growled and smacked his axe against a car, shoving it aside. The Hulk was still a no-show as Bruce tried his best to get him to come out, eventually giving up.

"Where's your guy?" Tony asked.

"I don't know. We've sort been havin' a thing," Bruce explained.

"There's no time for a thing," Tony urged.

"I know."

"That's the thing right there. Let's go."

Bruce grunts and his neck almost pop out of his skin, but still no Hulk.

Tony glanced at Doctor Strange who was looking at them pointedly before looking back at Bruce. "Dude, you're embarrassing me in front of the wizards."

Bruce stammered. "Tony, I'm sorry. Either I can't or he won't-"

Tony gently pushed him aside. "It's okay. Hey, stand down." To Wong he said, "Keep an eye on him. Thank you."

"I have him."

"Damn it," Bruce muttered.

Tony pulled the strings on his jackets before tapping his arc reactor. His new suit, made out of pure nano-particles formed around him until it encased his whole body. Cull Obsidian swung his hammer down on Tony, who formed a protective shield on his arm to block it. He punched Cull, who staggered back. Tony aims his repulsers and their hovering additions towards Cull, who charged anyways. Tony fired the repulsers and sent Cull flying towards Ebony, who simply used his telekinesis to fling him aside.

Bruce was in shock. "Where'd that come from?"

"It's nano-tech," Tony explained. " You like it? A little somet-"

Ebony Maw used his telekinesis to send Tony sky-high. He then pulled a tree of its roots and flung it at Wong, who extended his shield around them all.

"Dr. Banner, if the rest of your green friend won't be joining us …" Strange said before proceeding to send Banner through a teleportation circle and sending him to Central Park, along with half a taxi cab.

Stark returned to the fight, hurling a car at Ebony Maw with some help from Doctor Strange. Ebony simply split the car in two and the halves were sent hurling in opposite directions.

"Gotta get that stone outta here, now," Tony said.

"It stays with me," Strange contradicted.

"Exactly. Bye."

Tony attempts to fly away but is cut off by Cull's chained-up hammer and sends him the armored man through a building and to Central Park.

"Tony, you okay?" Bruce asked. "How we doing? Good? bad?"

"Really, really good. Really good. Do you plan on helping out?"

"I'm trying," Bruce pleaded. "He won't come out."

Cull Obsidian arrived to the park and threw his giant hammer at Bruce. Tony tackled him out of the way before shooting a beam at Cull, who had his own shield to deflect it. The beam cut down a tree, which Bruce dodged out of the way of.

"Come on, Hulk. What are you doing to me?" Bruce said, crawling from under the tree and began slapping himself. "Come out! Come out! Come out!"

The Hulk actually did come out for a brief second, but only to roar a loud "NO!" before hiding himself back inside Bruce.

Bruce was aghast. "What do you mean, 'no'?"

Tony continues to battle Cull but is knocked down by his massive hammer. Cull charged at him to attack him again, but was stopped by Spider-Man.

"Hey, man," Peter casually greeted before looking back at Tony. "What's up, Mr. Stark?"

"Kid, where'd you come from?" Tony wondered.

"Field trip to MoMA."

At the last word, Cull grabbed Peter and tossed him away. Tony took advantage and shot a beam at the brute.

"What is this guy's problem, Mr. Stark?" Peter asked.

"Uh, he's from space. He came here to steal a necklace from a wizard," Tony replied.

Spider-Man lunged at Cull, who used the hammer's claw to grab him and toss him away. Tony fired his repulsers at Cull, who deflected it with his shield and threw the taxi half at him. Peter caught the taxi half with his web and flung it at Cull.

Back with Ebony Maw, Strange and Wong tried to fight him. Ebony lifts several bricks before shifting them into sharp-pointed pieces of concrete. Strange used a teleportation circle to make them disappear while Wong opened another portal and sent them hurling back towards Ebony. Ebony uses a car to protect him, but one manages to slip by and hit him in the face, cutting him. Ebony makes a fire hydrant burst, which flings Wong backwards and renders him unconscious. Strange tries to wrap Ebony in magical ropes and brings him closer, which works against him. Ebony traps Strange into a building, using the bricks to wrap around him upside down.

"Your powers are quaint," Ebony mused. "You must be popular with children."

Ebony tried to grab the amulet holding the Time Stone but jerked back when it burned his hand.

"It's a simple spell but quite unbreakable," Strange said.

"Then I'll take it off your corpse," Ebony declared.

Ebony pulled Strange away from the building and threw him to the ground. As Strange tries to cast a spell, wires tied him down and stopped him. More wires came out of the ground to wrap around Strange's body. The wire reached his neck, tightening it as Ebony hovered above him.

"You'll find … removing a dead man's spell … troublesome," Strange gasped.

"You'll only wish you were dead," Ebony promised.

A hand suddenly came out of nowhere, grabbing Ebony Maw by the leg and slamming him down into the pavement. With Ebony distracted, Strange was able to get out himself of the wire as the stranger revealed himself. Both Strange and Ebony Maw turned to see none other than Steve Rogers, bearded with long hair and a raggedy suit that was missing the white star, but it was him alright.

Even Strange was surprised to see him. "Captain Rogers."

Steve smiled at Strange and nodded at him, as a sign to take on Ebony Maw together. The alien recovered as they did and flung a car at Steve. The captain rolled to his right and Strange attacked from behind. Ebony Maw whirled around to deflect it and Steve pounced on him, grabbing him from behind.

It was good timing for Wong to recover as well, as he opened a portal to what appeared like another place in Earth, somewhere hot and sandy. Strange and Rogers teamed up, as Steve pulled Ebony backwards and leaped off, before Strange used magic to forcefully shove Ebony into the portal, and he fell from high above, landing in a what looked like a dune in the middle of the desert.

Tony and Peter arrived too, leading the brute and dodging out of the way as Cull was also sent into the portal. Cull leaped at the same time as Ebony floated up, and Wong managed to close the portal just in time as Cull reached in and the portal cleanly chopped Cull's arm off.

"Ugh," Tony grunted in disgust as Cull's missing arm rolled on the ground and Wong kicked it away.

"Man, that was a close one, huh?" Peter huffed.

"Too close," Wong agreed.

"All we've done is buy us some time," Strange said.

"Great," Tony commented. "So now, can we get rid of the stone?"

"The stone stays with me," Strange said. "And regardless, Thanos having two stones at his disposal is a bigger problem that my having one. He's going to hunt down Vision as well as this one."

"Maybe we go somewhere away from here to come up with a real plan?" Steve suggested.

Tony seemed to just notice Steve Rogers was there. An awkward silence befell before Tony gave him a small smile. "Steve."

"Tony," he greeted back with a head dip.

"It's … it's good to see you."

"Likewise."

"Um … what if … we destroyed the stones?" Bruce said, suddenly appearing next to them, heaving after running after them. "Is that any way possible?"

"It would be an astronomical effort," Wong said. "But yes, I believe it would be possible."

"No, we're not considering that," Strange disagreed.

"Maybe it's for the best," Wong suggested. "That way no one gets the power of the Time Stone, or any of the Stones."

"We should run it by with the others," Steve said.

"Others?" Tony asked.

"You guys weren't the only ones getting attacked," Steve said. "Vision and Rhodey had some visitors, too. Luckily, Sam and Natasha were helping them, along with Percy and Wanda."

"Yeah, we need to all meet up again," Tony said.

"I'll go with them," Strange said to Wong. "You mind guarding the Sanctum?"

"Someone has to," Wong commented.

Wong proceeded to open a portal to the Sanctum and disappeared as it closed behind him.

"Alright, then," Tony said. "Back to the Compound we go. Rogers, lead the way. Nice beard, by the way."

"Oh, thanks Tony. Nice suit."

"It is pretty cool, huh?"

Strange opened a portal to the Compound and the five of them walked through it.
