"Klaus…"

"Hello love" The man in question greeted, a small, dimpled smile, spread across his face.

Caroline had a huge rant ready as soon as she knew that he was behind this little scheme. But seeing him now, she couldn't remember a single word.

Elijah's eyes automatically went to the brunette vampire who had just taken a step behind Caroline. Almost all would have mistaken her for her doppelganger. But Elijah knew better. "Katerina."

Klaus, who had only had eyes for Caroline up until this point, snapped out of his daze. His eyes zeroing in on the brunette hiding behind the love of his life.

Katherine cursed, the brunette thought she would have at least gotten a minute to get out of the city. But no, the damn Mikaelson's couldn't have even given her that. Could they?

Her brown eyes flicked between brother to brother, gauging the distance and wondering if she could make it to Elijah before Klaus had his hand in her chest. She shook her head, nah. It would be easier for her to wait until Caroline was closer to Elijah, and her chances of actually making it were higher, and then she'd try and move.

Klaus let out a growl, seeing the older vampire hide behind the baby one. "Klaus, no!" Caroline said automatically. "I'm not going to let you hurt my friends."

Klaus raised an eyebrow, "Don't worry love. I won't hurt the Bennett witch or the bus boy."

"And you won't hurt Katherine either." Caroline added, a hand on her hips.

The Mikaelson's reactions varied at the news. Klaus blinked, as if trying to wrap his head around the possibility of the love of his life being friends with his arch enemy. Elijah broke out into a large smile. Well Kol, straight up began laughing like there was no tomorrow.

As Kol's laughter began to die down, Klaus shook himself out of his trance and began walking towards Caroline, "Caroline, love. I think you're forgetting that she's the one who killed you. Are you sure you wanna be friends with her?"

Caroline smiles, a honey sweet smile. "You killed Jenna, and one of my best friends, and then bit me. Am I sure I want to give you a chance?"

"She does have a point." Kol and Katherine chimed in unison. Both brunette's reveled at the chance of teasing Klaus without fear of repercussions well they were in the presence of their blond messiah.

Caroline was about to glare at the two, but she suddenly remembered the main reason she was angry at Klaus on the trip here. "You!" She glared, turning her heated gaze towards the hybrid. "You promised me you'd let me come to you on my own!"

Klaus smiled at her innocently, "But I did. I mean you're the one who chose to get on the plane and come to New Orleans."

"Yeah, well I had no idea that you were behind it." Caroline huffed, crossing her arms. As much as she hated to admit it, the hybrid's dimpled smile had done quite a bit to cool her temper.

Klaus raised an eyebrow, "Really?"

"Really." Bonnie answered dryly. "We were mostly focused on deciding if we were going to even come or not. So by the end, we just signed the slip and turned them in."

Elijah looked appalled at what they had just done.

Matt chuckled nervously. He was standing next to Bonnie. The quarterback had heard of what the Mikaelson brothers had done to someone who so much as showed a sliver of interest towards they're sister.

"Well, the private jet is still here. You could always take it back." Elijah offered.

Klaus glared at his brother, "Or you could stay here and enjoy the sights." the hybrid said, staring at Caroline hopefully.

"I'm staying." Katherine answered, staring at Elijah.

Bonnie glanced at Kol, who was staring at her with a similar expression, "Sure. We're already here."

Seeing both the doppelganger and witch say yes, Matt, who was still hoping to run into Rebekah nodded.

Now, everyone was staring at Caroline. Waiting for the blonde's answer. "I'm staying. I've already agreed. And this is for a class, not you." She told Klaus firmly.

"Of course love." The hybrid smiled.

Seeing that he was distracted, Katherine took this chance to run behind Elijah. The original smiled at the brunette hanging off his arm. Katherine, seeing this, glared up at him. "Oh, don't you smile, mister. I'm still mad at you." Elijah hid a wince as the woman dug her nails into his arm.

Katherine pouted, not getting the reaction she wanted. So she continued on, "You choose little miss perfect Elena, over me. Well she was humanity less, mind you. So believe me when I say the only reason I'm here next to you right now is because you'd be the perfect shield if your brother ever changes his mind about my death. I'm sure your brother's the type who believes in asking for forgiveness, if ever, not permission. And eternity is a long time. She'll forgive him eventually. I am not taking that risk. Understood."

Elijah smiles, "Of course." Considering how he had left her. He was more than happy that she was letting him play her shield. He'd take what he can get, and hopefully by the time this trip was over, she'd have forgiven him.

They had all decided to stay, but Bonnie still had a question on her mind, "How did you guys manage to pull this off?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh that was easy. Elijah works as a history professor at Tulane. He put the idea out there, and it was accepted." Klaus answered.

"With compulsion greasing the wheels I bet." Caroline sighed.

"Beauty and brains. Exactly why I love you." Klaus complemented.

Caroline sighed, but the slight blush on her cheeks gave away exactly how affected she was. So she decided to change the topic. Turning to Katherine she smirked. "You're so gonna be a basic bitch." she laughed.

Katherine gasped, "How dare you."

"Wait, so you don't have a crush on the hot professor?" Bonnie asked, jumping onto the tease Kat train.

Katherine growled, "I don't like Elijah." She bluntly denied, falling to lie straight through her teeth.

Bonnie raised an eyebrow, "But I never mentioned Elijah. For all you know, I could have been talking about Maxfield."

Now it was Katherines turn to have pink cheeks.

Kol turned to Bonnie, "Wait, so you think that idiot's hot?" he asked, making a face.

Bonnie shrugged, "Say what you will about him. He is good looking."

Klaus turned to Caroline, who shrugged. "His arrogance is a major turn off. Some people can pull it off. He can't."

The hybrid raised an eyebrow, "So do you think I can?" he asked, with his arms behind him.

Caroline stared at his smirking face. There was no denying that Klaus was arrogant. But his arrogance was earned from walking this earth for a thousand years. By being THE hybrid. When he was arrogant. Caroline was one step away from flinging her panties off and jumping him. The blond shook her head, yeah. He was already arrogant enough. No need to add more onto it.

So she instead turned her head away, "Yeah, no. I'm not going to even dignify that question with an answer."

"Uh, guys." Matt spoke up. "I think we're getting quite a bit of attention."

The group turned to look at the rest of the class, who were all staring at them. Klaus, Elijah, Katherine and Kol all remained unaffected. With Kol even sending a little smirk and wave to the group, causing some of them to blush and look at the ground. But Caroline, Bonnie and Matt were all at varying shades of red.

Jesse began to approach the group. Caroline cursed underneath her breath. The last thing she needed was Klaus knowing that Jesse was interested in her. She may be attracted to him, but she wasn't blind to all the terrible things he'd done, and was still very much capable of doing. Just because she was an exemption, doesn't mean everybody else was as well.

Caroline prayed to any higher being above them, that Jesse would not try to flirt with her.

And he didn't. Instead he said, "Wow. I had no idea you know people here. Wait, is he the boyfriend that you were talking about?" He asked, nodding towards Klaus.

Everybody had a variety of reactions to this. Both of Klaus' eyebrows shot up, and he sent Caroline a teasing smirk. Elijah remained mostly unaffected, his eyes still only on Katherine. The doppelganger began laughing like a hyena, using Elijah to support herself so she wouldn't fall down. Bonnie was mostly calm, only raising a curious eyebrow at her best friend. Well Matt looked like he was waiting for Klaus to start ripping hearts out. The blond in question, shook her head frantically, "No!"

But her statement was quickly countered by Kol and Katherine, "Yes, she is!"

"Well, aren't you two getting along great today." Caroline glared at them. She then turns back to Jesse, "No. He isn't my boyfriend."

"Really? So you have a boyfriend here? I wonder who would be that stupid?" Kol asked, adding the last bit like an afterthought he intended for everybody to hear.

Something about Kol's statement made Caroline pause, "What do you mean? Why would it be so hard for me to have a boyfriend here?" she asked.

'Oh please." Katherine rolled her eyes. "Use your head Carebear. Even I can answer that one. Klaus run's this town. So hitting on a girl he's shown interest in. Yeah, not so smart."

Kol nodded, "Someone would need to have a serious death wish, for a very painful death might I add. To try and hit on the queen. Don't be surprised if some people start bowing down to you. You can thank my dear brother for that one."

Caroline gasped and turned to glare at Klaus, who had a large smile on his face and had stayed surprisingly silent up to this point.

"I swear to god Klaus if anyone adds queen to my name or so much as attempts to bow down." The blond growled.

Seeing her glare the hybrid merely shrugged his shoulders, "Well you can't hold it against their love. They would just be honest." he says innocently.

"Excuse me. Which one of you is Mr. Mikaelson?" Wes Maxfield asked, approaching the group.

Klaus and Kol smirked at each other and stepped forward at the same time as Elijah, "That would be me."

Maxfield looked annoyed, "I'm serious."

"So are we mate." Klaus said. "Klaus Mikaelson."

"Kol Mikaelson." Kol nodded.

Elijah sighed, "I believe I'm the one you're looking for. Elijah Mikaelson. These two are my brothers." He said, gesturing to Klaus and Kol. "My family is the one sponsoring this trip. I'm also a history teacher at Tulane."

Wes nodded, "And you know where we will be staying?"

"Yes, at my family's manor."

At Elijah's answer, Caroline, Bonnie and Katherine all let out a curse in unison.

Caroline walked into the two story mansion. It gave off the same vibes of extravagance and elegance that the Mikaelson mansion back in Mystic Falls did.

Elijah stepped in front of the class to get the attention of the students who were still looking around in awe. "There are three floors here." He informed the group. "You are given free access to the dining room, main room, library in the south wing and gardens."

"Though there is a section of the gardens that no one is allowed to enter without permission. If you do, the guards are given permission to stop you from entering no matter what. Understood." Klaus interrupted. He then turned to Caroline, whispering too low for the humans to hear. "Of course that rule doesn't apply to your love."

Caroline nodded. Making a mental note to check out why the humans couldn't enter the gardens.

Katherine whistled lowly, "Favoritism at its finest."

Klaus narrowed his eyes at her, "And that is exactly why you still have a beating heart in your chest Little Witch."

Elijah sighed, "Exactly. The kitchen and lower floors are off limits as well. Your rooms will be on the second floor. Boys will be in groups of three, and girls will be in groups of four. You are to treat all the workers here with respect. They work for my family, not you. If there's a problem with their work. You will take it up with one of us, or our sister Rebekah, who will be arriving later this evening. That is all."

When Elijah finished, the students began talking amongst themselves again. Dividing up into groups.

Katherine, Bonnie, and Caroline nodded towards each other, moving together. The girls were approached by another girl in their class. Bonnie recognized her as the girl who sat next to her.

"Uh, do you guys have a fourth roommate already?" The girl asked a bit nervously.

Bonnie was about to answer, when Kol swung his arm around her shoulder. "Sorry sweet cheeks. These girls get individual rooms."

Caroline and Bonnie looked confused. Well Katherine let out a quiet 'Hallelujah'. Happy that she wouldn't have to share.

This piece of information earned a shriek of outrage from one of their classmates, who had been listening in. "How's that fair!" Amy protested.

Whenever Caroline looked at Amy, she saw her old, human self in her. Amy was a tall, long haired brunette. With pretty blue eyes. She was also the cheer captain of her old high school. The typical mean girl queen bee.

Klaus stepped in front of Caroline, "It means that Caroline, Katherine, Bonnie and Matt won't have to share a room. They each already have a room prepared in the house for them."

Matt looked surprised to hear his name. Though he was pretty sure that he only had a room thanks to Rebekah.

Elijah stepped in, quickly inventing an excuse. "My family and I visited Mystic Fall's not two long ago. It was a small town. So everybody knew everybody. Ever since then, Mis. Forbes, Mis. Bennett, Mis. Pierce and Mr. Donovan have been good family friends of ours. So that's why there was already a room prepared for them in advance."

"Really? I'm pretty sure Caroline's room was one of the first one's completed." Kol muttered, low enough only for their group to hear.

"Oh, you say it like you didn't assemble the library in the west wing with the Bennett witch in mind." Klaus fired back.

Bonnie raised an eyebrow, turning to look at Kol. "I'm pretty sure I should be creeped out. But right now, my curiosity for those grimoires is over taking the creep factor."

Kol smiles charmingly, "Let me show you then." He offered her a hand, which Bonnie took a little hesitantly.

Elijah nodded. "Dinner won't be ready till seven. So you can all feel free to explore. Just remember. If any door is locked, don't even try to open it."

Klaus nodded toward Caroline, offering his arm and asked, "Allow me to show you your room?"

Caroline looked at the offered arm and wrapped her arms around it. "All right."

Klaus smiled and began guiding her up the stairway. As they made a left turn, Caroline raised an eyebrow. "I thought the rooms were meant to be in the west wing?"

"Well, each of us has our own wing. Mine is in the east, Elijah's is in the west. Rebekah wanted North, and Kol's is the south. Your room is next to mine. In the east wing." Klaus answered.

Caroline nodded. "And let me guess. Katherine's is in the west, Matt's in North, and Bonnie's is in the South. But really, since when is your brother so interested in her?"

Klaus chuckled, "Well, Kol had always been fascinated by witches, and the Bennett comes from quite a powerful line."

Caroline glared at the hybrid, "So you're telling me, he's only interested in her because she's a strong witch?"

"Now, now love. Don't be so angry. I'm saying that she's a power witch. And that's how she got his attention. But I think he's truly interested in her. New Orleans is full of powerful witches. Yet he keeps only talking about the Bennett witch."

Caroline nodded. "Just remember. We've killed him once. So if he hurts Bonnie, we can do it again." she threatened.

Klaus laughed, "Of course. I don't doubt your ability to take on an original love. If you like, I could even get you some white oak ashes." He offered, opening the door.

Anything that Caroline was about to say, died in her mouth, as she stared at the gorgeous room in front of her.

The room was huge, at least three times the size of her room back home. It had light white walls that weren't too hard on the eyes.

There was a soft brown rug underneath a large, king size bed, with a white canopy overhead. There was a large flat screen T.V. right across from it.

There's a simple white work desk, in the corner of the room. On the other side, next to two large clear doors leading outside to a balcony, was a sitting area with soft white chairs. In the middle of the three chairs, was a coffee table.

Klaus gilded her outside to the balcony, and the blond's eyes lit up in amazement. The balcony had a small couch pushed into a side, with two chairs on the other side of a small table. But what was truly amazing was the garden that the balcony overlooked.

"This was the restricted section of the gardens. One I created especially for you. The flowers were flown in from all around the world. I had a witch spell them so that they wouldn't ever wither or die, no matter the temperature, or time of year." Klaus said, his eyes never left Caroline's face, as he memorized the happy expression on her face.

"They're gorgeous." Caroline said, breathlessly taking in the beauty in front of her.

"Well maybe, one day if you let me. I'd love to take you all around the world. Showing you all these flowers in their natural habitat." Klaus said smoothly.

Caroline let out a laugh. "Rome, Paris… Tokyo?"

"Exactly." Klaus smiled.

He then guided her back inside, he opened a door which led to a walk-in closet that was already full of clothes. There was a crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling, over the light pink armless seat in the middle of the room. The floor was covered in a dark pink fuzzy rug. On the end of the closet was a makeup vanity holding a large mirror. Caroline opened one of the drawers of the vanity to show it full to the brim with lipsticks, eyeshadows and other makeup. Caroline could spot several high end names such as Channel, Dior, and Estee Lauder.

At Caroline's raised eyebrow, Klaus just smiled charmingly. "What? Only the best for you love."

As they exited the closet, he pointed to a door only a meter to it's right, "That's the door to the bathroom."

Caroline nodded, "What about that room?" She asked, pointing to a door in the far right corner of the room.

"That door leads to my room. Just in case you need anything." Klaus answered, his voice coming out extra sweet.

Caroline nodded, not so sure about how she felt about her room being connected to Klaus'.

Her eyes once again glided over the walls, this time taking notice of the various paintings hanging throughout the room. There were various ones. Some abstract, some landscape and even a portrait of her. "Did you paint them?" she asked, as she stared at the portrait. She looked radiant in it. And she knew that there was only one person who truly believed she shined like that.

Klaus nodded. "I painted most of the pictures in this house."

"They're gorgeous." She complemented, still captivated by the picture.

Klaus smiled, but he wasn't even the slightest bit focused on the painting. How could he, when the real thing was right in front of him.

Klaus put his arm around Caroline's shoulder, "Come one. There's something I want to show you." He said, gently starring her out the door.

I have a lot more for this idea that I still want to write. So yes, there will be a part 3. I am personally a fan of longer chapters, but I also know it's easier to lose interest in them as well. So I will be cutting part 2 off here. So yeah, keep an eye out for part 3 - where I have a bit of Hayley, and a lot of Cami bashing planned out.

Anyways,

KLAROLINE FOR LIFE!
