"Mom, what's going on?" Kim burst through the door and raced to the kitchen where her mom was standing. She looked at her mom she could tell she had already been crying.
"It's your brothers. Someone took them. They want the new upgraded Hephestus technology your father is working on." her voice was so weak it barely came out. Doctor Possible gestured to the kitchen table. Kim looked and saw a bloody note and two right index fingers.
The olive color disappeared from her eyes as they dilated attempting to take in as much information as possible. Adrenaline skyrocketed as panic finally set in. Unfortunately, the only viable target was Shego as she walked through the front door.
"Where's Drakken and what does he want with the new Hephestus tech?" She slammed Shego against the wall and held her there. Now black eyes were staring into the former henchwoman's soul looking for any signs of deception.
"Jesus Princess, what the fuck!?" Kim Punched the wall next to Shego's head.
"Where are my brothers? Where is Drakken?"
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"Somebody kidnapped my brothers, demanding to know about the improved Hephaestus tech my dad is working on. The only one who ever touched that tech was Drakken."
The former henchman was ears were ringing, she didn't know what to make of what was going on. She did her best to keep the redhead off her.
"Ok, Kim one second." Shego made a quick call.
"Yo, Dr. D where the fuck are you?"
"Where?"
"With who….oh, ok have her call Kim possible right now."
"Why? Because unless you want her to track you down and beat you with an inch of your life you will have that bitch call her." It didn't take long for the Kimunicator to ring.
"Hi, Dr. Director." Kim's demeanor was cold.
"Ah, Kimberly, I am to inform you that I have Drew Lipsky with me currently and am working on a contract of employment. Why are you are looking for him." Dr. Director asked.
"Someone kidnapped my brothers asking about the upgraded Hephaestus tech. "
"I can see why Lipsky would be the first one you would turn to;" Dr. Director said concerned. She sighed and considered the situation.
"Should I consider Team Possible taking over the situation?" It was more of a statement of fact.
The one-eyed woman knew Kim would want to handle this herself.
"No, They sent me pieces of my brothers. Team Possible will not be on this; I'm using the other unit. Have Wade scan my house. Have him activate the sad day protocol and send me any intel within 3 hours. " Kim corrected.
"Consider it done."
At her belt at the one o'clock position, she put a pouch that held 18 nano stick grenades. Six each of smoke, stun, and fragmentation. On her back, she carried a kevlar backpack that contained a full EMT trauma and medkit. All this gear would normally be almost too heavy to carry and move quickly and silently for a normal person. Her battle suit made up for this so it was like she wasn't even carrying any additional gear.
Downstairs Anne and Shego stood in silence until Anne thought it appropriate to try to lighten the mood if only to make things less awkward between the two and take her mind off the obvious.
"So…Princess?"
"Woah, Woah hold it right there," The green woman held her hands up defensively as blue eyes stared at her.
"I started calling her that to embarrass and throw her off during fights. That was way back in the days we used to fight, the nicknames just kind of stuck out of habit and last I checked she was dating the buffoon…." She tried to defend herself while trying not to sound too defensive but trailed off trying not to mention Kim's relationship problems.
Anne just stared at Shego. The doctor wondered what Shego really thought of Kim; if the Miss Go incident held any weight, but before she could say anything Kim made her way downstairs.
"Shego you can go home, I've got things from here;" however the former mercenary didn't take that answer.
"Sorry…Kim… but you helped me rescue my brothers twice so consider me returning the favor tonight."
"Kimberly why are you dressed like a soldier and why are their guns in my house?" Dr. Possible interrupted before Kim could respond to Shego.
"Mom, I am a fully trained and active duty Global Justice paramilitary officer. If these guys wanted to play by Hero and Villian rules. They wouldn't have sent me my brother's body parts.
So now they can deal with one of GJ's Highly Elite Reconisance Operatives." Kim Turned to look at Shego. "And her hired mercenary…"
The term Highly Elite Reconisance Operative rang in Shego's ears. She knew those words and didn't like what came with them; she knew exactly what Kimberly had become and what was going to be expected of her.
"Okay, Pumpkin before we roll out, I need to make a stop and get my gear then." Kim just nodded. She had her mom sit down on the couch, left, and activated the home's security system. No one that wasn't authorized would get in, or out if they happened to make it in. The activation with Kim's code also dispatched over twenty undercover GJ agents and three local squad cars to watch over the house. This ended tonight.
Shego and Kim arrived at Club Sandiego's back entrance. Shego informed the bouncer to not anyone through that door for the next fifteen minutes. He let them through. Once in the weres a small but wide waiting area and a door on the other side. Shego stopped Kim from going through the second door.
"Activate Den Of Thieves Protocol Alpha, Zulu, Sierra, Golf," Shego spoke as the entire hallway started to lower itself like an elevator for five minutes. Then Shego guided Kim through large double doors.
The room was very large it had a couch area with a tv and a kitchen that looked a lot like a common room. Except there were three large hallways. Down the center was a black and white-themed hallway. the right hallway was black and green-themed, and the left hallway was an all-red theme. A young woman sitting on one of the couches turned off the tv and walked up to Shego and Kim.
She looked Hispanic with blue/grey eyes. Had dark brown/auburn hair in a messy bun and wearing a red zip-up hoodie that was halfway zipped down revealing a black shirt. Below that were blue jeans and white shoes with red accents.
She looked at Shego, then Kim.
"...um Shego am I getting arrested?" Her voice shaking seeing Kim in full attire.
"Not a chance Izzy, Someone Kidnapped her brothers and I am going to be helping her retrieve them."
The girl relaxed at Shego's words and started a small laugh.
"Wow, you're helping world hero Kim Possible and you gave up being the world's greatest thief, your poor mother." She teased.
"She would be just fine with me doing whatever the hell I wanted, She told me that herself." The green woman laughed.
"Beside You're the one who was named after her and took up her mantle. I'm she's fine wherever she ended up." Shego continued.
"Hey, last I checked we're both named after her in a way, and remember you can have her mantle anytime you want." Izzy offered up.
"And let me remind you red is so not my color." Izzy shrugged as if to say, 'that's fair.'
"Hey, Shego who is this?" Kim interrupted more confused than anything else.
"Oh right, Pumpkin this is my cousin Isabella C. Valdez. One of the other owners of Club Sandiego; officially now the world's greatest thief, you know, because I retired." Shego Smirked
It didn't take long to register for Kim.
"Shego, I thought you went straight. Why are you working with a criminal." As the words escaped Kim's mouth, Izzy let out a laugh as Shego sighed.
"Kimmie, I gave up being a thief and trying to take over the world. The club is totally legit. What my cousin does is totally up to her." Kim knew Shego still had a point, even global justice had some less than pure relationships.
"Hey, Izzy watch Kimmie here, I'll be right back." Shego walked off down the green and black hallway. Kim and Izzy stood there in a brief silence.
"So, since when does The Kim Possible use guns?" It was an off-handed comment, the thief didn't really know what to expect.
"Yea, well when someone sends my mother my brother's bloody fingers the rules tend to change," Kim said bitterly.
"That's understandable." That was the only thing Izzy could think to say. What else could you say to that; She had seen and experienced plenty of messed-up things. It's just not something you ever get used to…
Shego walked back out to the main complex in her new gear. A modified version of her old catsuit. It had the same color pattern but was made out of leather with a kevlar core, buttons down the center. The suit was ¾ sleeves, she had a utility belt with various pouches, a drop leg pouch on her right leg, and an ankle pouch on her left. She had on black combat boots.
"Hey, Kimmie the CIA comeback with your intel yet?" How did Shego know she was getting intel from them, she isn't supposed to know.
"I haven't gotten anything back and I cannot confirm nor deny the source of any intel I receive." The pale woman rolled her eyes before turning Isabella.
"Hey, can you see if the name Hephestus, diablo robot, or anything along those lines has come up in any of your circles?"
"Follow me." Isabella lead them down the red hallway to a room that looked part living room, part studio bedroom, and part gym. In the center of the back wall was a computer with six monitors. She walks over to the computer enters a few keys and a young boy no older than seventeen pops up on the screen.
"Hey Player."
"Hey Red, how're things."
"Not good, I need you to see if there's anything in vile or anyone associated with vile's old networks regarding a Hephaestus project. The primary institution of research would be the Middleton Space Center. "
"I'll Check into it." The screen went black.
"Okay let's see who's faster Izzy's nerd or the CIA," Shego said nonchalantly.
"Shego, I get my info from wade you know that he is the best and fastest." Kim redirected. There was another brief silence before the screen came alive.
"Hey, Red there has been some news that the Colombian cartel has been expecting some new tech, I don't know if it is related to what you're looking for but it might be worth taking a look at," Player announced from the screen.
"Colombian cartel!?" Kim and Shego blurted at the same time.
"Yes, In the late 1970s, the illegal cocaine trade became a significant problem for law enforcement and became a major source of profit for criminals, particularly smugglers. Drug lord Pablo Escobar provided protection to other smugglers who partnered with him and distributed cocaine for the cartel in New York City and later Miami, establishing a crime network that, at its height, trafficked around 300 kilos per day. " Player Started to explain.
"During the cartel's zenith, Escobar oversaw the import of large shipments of coca paste from Andean nations such as Peru and Bolivia into Colombia, where it was then processed into cocaine hydrochloride (powdered cocaine) in jungle labs before being flown into the United States in amounts of up to 15 tons per day." Carmen continued.
"They are also notoriously brutal, Escobar and his associates made it clear that whoever stood against them would risk being killed along with their families…"
"Okay, what's with the fucked up history lesson." Shego cut off Isabella.
The Hispanic woman stared emptily at the former thief.
"This is how it always is…"
"Hey, Kim…" Wade popped up on another screen next to Player.
"How did you get access to this system!?" Player and Izzy screamed.
"Doesn't matter right now, Kim I have info on what happened. So far we know that Gemini has instructed W.E.E. to look into Hephestus and seems to be selling it to an unknown drug smuggling ring as a way of funding operations as well as developing the tech further. My guess is that they ate working on some kind of symbiotic relationship. How far Gemini's relationship goes is currently unknown." The boy genius stated
"Moreover, we still don't know which drug lords…" He continued.
"Wade it's the cartels," Kim interrupted.
"What?"
"One of Shego's contacts came through with what is now the other half of this equation. We know its the Colombian cartels, but we still don't know exactly where they're are being held."
"One of Shego's contacts?" Wade asked,
"The one's system your hacking," Isabella said flatly; it didn't take long for the rest of the screens to light with black screens with white text.
"Kim, do you know who's system this is ?"
"Mine" Isabella Said annoyed, player assured her nobody could possibly hack into her computer system.
"I don't know or care Wade. She is a nightclub owner." Kim needed to rescue her brothers and was sure both Isabella and Shego appreciated discretion.
"Kim, this computer belongs to Carmen Sandiego."
"Who?" Shego sighed Kimme just walked right into another history lesson. She decided it was too much effort to stand and listen to all this, so she decided to sit on the couch in the room and wait.
"I'll field this one Wade, was it?" Wade nodded as Isabella spoke.
"A very long time ago a spy turned thief who went by Carmen Sandiego rose to the be the top thief in the world. Two years later she started an organization called V.I.L.E. or Villains International League of Evil. An organization of the top thieves in the world to pool resources etc. Many years after V.I.L.E's. founding there was infighting and this eventually led to Carmen walking out on V.I.L.E. She continued stealing. However about…" Isabella looked at Shego.
"Thirty years?" She continued to look at Shego who sat and thought for a second. She was about twenty-five years old.
"Yeah, that sounds right," Shego added as Isabella nodded.
"About thirty years ago she dropped off the face of the earth. Nobody knew where in the world she went. That is until recently about five years ago Carmen resurfaced. She Started stealing priceless artifacts only for them to be returned shortly after. This isn't public info but Carmen has been stealing to counter V.I.L.E. operations. However, in the last year, things between Carmen and V.I.L.E. came to a head and she shut them down permanently. She made sure there were no V.I.L.E. Faculty or operatives to take over anymore. She destroyed buildings etc. Nowadays She basically does the robin hood thing. Steal from the uber-rich. Steal countries' key priceless artifacts and hold them for ransom to leverage political change or to extort money and cover personal costs."
Kim had a feeling something was being left out; especially since if what Isabella was implying and saying didn't make sense. She looked way too young to be Carmen if there were over thirty-plus years of history to this story. She shook her head it didn't matter. She needed to get her brothers back safely.
"This is great and all but how does this get me to my brothers." The redhead demanded.
"Long enough for me to track down the most likely holding location for your brothers. I figured it the cartel holding is them considering the situation." Wade interrupted. Kim stood in a moment of deep thought.
"Okay, Shego and I will go after the cartel. I want you on GJ authority to send a 1st special forces unit detachment and a Ranger battalion to attack Gemini directly Have the Ranger from the front and the UD to attack the back." Kim Stated.
"Why not send an Alpha group?" Wade countered.
"Just in case my brothers happen to be with Gemini I don't need another Moscow Theater Crisis. Especially with my own brothers involved."
"Makes sense Kim, I'll pass the intel to GJ and send you the cartel location."
"Hey, Princess I know how good we are, but are we really going to storm a cartel compound with just the two of us?" Shego broke Kim's train of thought.
"I can get Ron and Yori. They are trained, ninja." The former thief pondered for a moment.
"Fine! If The Buffoon is cooking along then Carmen you're coming with!" Shego said coarsely.
"Don't Just Conscript me!" Isabella Said.
"Don't just add random criminals to my operation!" Kim shouted.
"Think about it Kimmie you probably also need hard drives and other random intel, why not have her grab it for us while we rescue your brothers, and Izzy think of all the loose cash and other valuables." Shego reasoned.
"Fine!" Izzy and Kim Stated.
"I need to get ready," Isabella said. Shego ushered Kim out to the main living area. They didn't wait long before Isabella came out to greet them in a very distinctive outfit. Form-fitting black leggings, boots, and a redshirt. She had a utility belt that contained a ninjato and what looked like a cattle prod. Overall of it, she had a red trench coat and a massive red hat with a wide brim. Before they moved out Isabella and Shego Discussed the Carmen Sandiego Identity and how when on a mission she was to refer to Isabella as Carmen. Wade connected with them and sent them the location of the cartel. Which happened to be in LA. He sent Ron and Yori that way. They all had met up at Isabella's base of operations.
Ron and Yori were waiting outside the unassuming warehouse. Kim, Isabella, and Shego pulled up in a distinctive green and black charger.
"Kim, Shego who is your friend?" Ron said jovially.
"The names' Carmen, Carmen Sandiego," Isabella said.
"This is her place Ron, I'm assuming you read the intel wade sent," Kim said as Ron looked away and rubbed the back of his neck. The redhead suddenly grabbed Ron and threw him to the ground screaming at him he needs to take this seriously, emphasizing her point with her rifle. After they all got into the building Wade and Player went over the plan. They covered the building how many cartels were supposedly there and who went where. Kim and Shego were to do a frontal assault as a distraction. Ron and Yori through the back. Carmen through the roof. They waited until nightfall.
In the cover of the dark, Shego and Kim Possible circled the warehouse. While they are moving you could hear a small puff of air like a pellet gun going off. Once they made their way back to the front all thirty-five outdoor cameras were taken out. There were two guards at the front gate and two more behind. Kim took aim with her rifle. Shego places a gentle hand on it.
"You don't have to do it this way, Kim." The green woman pleaded. Kim looked up.
I have to do this, I can't afford to play games. My family can't afford it. Both women felt a pang in their chest. Know what was about to transpire.
"You Don't have to cross that line, we can still do this another way. We're all more than skilled enough." Shego Pleaded again.
"There are no lines I won't cross, no seas I won't part, and no chains I won't break for the ones I love," The words Kim said didn't fall flat on Shego's ears. She pulled a small blue device from her drop leg pouch. Pressed the top three buttons twice then the middle button. This caused the screen to illuminate with a pink square with a black center. Kim's eyes went wide at what she saw on the screen. She then looked at Shego but before she could say anything. Shego put the device back in the pouch.
"Ok, We'll do it GJ's way princess. Consider my favor to you used up, deal?" Shego's tone was bitter like swallowing expired medicine.
"Deal," Kim said as she took two shots taking out the front two guards.
"You take left, I got right, then you take point in the halls." Shego jumped down with Kim following her. The girls ran and burst through the gate.
Kim took a hard left shooting the guard just inside the gate twice in the chest and once in the head. Shego cut right grabbed the other guard's gun with her left hand melting it with her plasma. She then ignited her plasma on her right hand and punched through the man's chest leaving a fist-sized hole where his breast bone should be.
They made their way down the main corridor. Kim shooting anyone in her way. Someone grabbed Shego's arm from a door as she was passing. The mercenary ignited her arm turning the man's hand to ash before punching a plasma fist through his head. She then caught up with Kim.
"Clear your fuckin side rooms cupcake."
"Noted," Kim stated as they swiftly moved from room to room. Eventually, they came across a small clearing. Large men were running at them. Kim took a shot and click.
Nothing, not time to malfunction clear. She let her rifle fall on its sling. She flicked her wrist and the nanites turned into a five-inch double-edged karambit she held in the ice pick grip. She Used the knife to block the incoming punch. The block didn't work but the punch connected with Kim's elbow. This broke the man's hand. She used the counter opportunity to jam her karambit into the side of his neck. The next man came at her with a swift kick. Kim stepped into catching the kick and reaping the man's leg. This caused the man to fall to the ground. She then drew her pistol and shot him in the head.
Shego a more practical approach. Igniting the plasma and simply cutting people in half. It didn't take them too long to clear the room and settle down. Kim reloaded her rifle. Shego and Kim heard a voice that sounded like one of her brothers. Kim nodded at Shego and they raced towards the voice. They arrived at an open warehouse floor. Two sets of eyes went wide at what they saw.
Carmen Sandiego got the ok that Kim and Shego took out all the outer cameras. She shot her zipline up and zoomed up to the roof. The roof access door is only locked from the inside, smart. Too bad for them she had three thermal charges she used to melt the door's hinges. This process was bright but relatively quiet. Before heading downstairs she took out her modified Crackle Rod and set it to its highest setting.
She flashed back to the first time she had used this setting. When VILE turned her evil. She shook the thoughts away only to be assaulted by the memory of the only other time she had used the device at this power. The final raid on VILE. They had been friends who grew up alongside her. Mentors who taught her almost everything she knew before striking out on her own. Stopping them and doing the whole anti-hero vs villain bit was one thing. That day…
Carmen shook her head and focused.
She made her way down the stairs to a hallway. She ran to the room, Wade and Player said her target was located. She used the over-amped stun stick on everyone she passed. She was so quick that they didn't even get a chance to try to defend themselves. Drug dealers, VILE-trained operatives they were not.
She found one of the rooms, it was a computer room. Carmen tore open computers and ripped hard drives. Stole disks, USB drives, SD cards, and anything else she could find. She then made her way down to the vault. That was just as easy. The safe was in the middle of the room.
Low-tier bad guys aren't very smart are they, she thought. Not only that, the safe was something you could buy from a department store. She just drilled it out and got in, there were piles of hundred dollar bills, gemstones, and a few gold bars. Carmen Smiled as she hit the jackpot. That was until she heard a click behind her.
"Back away from the safe." The unknown man said while she presumed had a gun. Carmen sighed She put her hands up and to flicked her wrists out to the side. Now she just needed to stall.
"Do, you know who I am?" The thief sighed.
"Do you know who you're robbing?" The man retorted.
"Cartel de Medellín, no ?" She replied.
"So, you're just stupid then?" His insult didn't land.
"So you really don't know who I am?" Carmen set her hat down on the safe and began taking off her coat as she turned around. The man she saw gave her a strange look, but he was too stupid to see what was really happening as Carmen took the safety off of her ACME gas gun. Once She faced the man, the entire half of the room he stood in became temporarily encased on a blue cloud. Carmen let the gun fall on its own and kicked him to the other side of the room.
"Thanks, Jules," She smiled under her breath.
She unloaded the man's gun and walked over to him and gave him a debilitating electric shock.
He won't wake up for a while if he is able to.
Ron and Yori made their way to the back sneaking in through a 2nd story window.
They made their way to where they thought Kim's brothers were being held. They arrived in a room where a single cartel member was. Yori quickly attempted to dispatch the man, however, Ron knocked the man out before Yori could connect with her ninjato.
"Stoppable-san."
"Yori, Team possible does not kill" Ron placed a gentle hand on the back of Yori's blade. The kunoichi stared at him.
"I am not a part of team possible, and we are not here as 'Team Possible' we are here as Yamanouchi ninja." She said flatly.
"Director-sensei was very clear." Yori reiterated.
"I am a member of Team Possible." Ron countered.
"Watashi tachi wa Yamanouchi no shinobi, ron-kun. Keiyaku kitei wakarimasu ka(We are Yamanouchi ninja Ron, don't you understand the rules of engagement)?" Yori said, trying to get Ron in the right headspace. though, the blonde was still hesitant but instead of arguing he simply nodded.
"Hai, Yori-sempai." He knew he was outranked at this moment. He didn't like it. Yori proceeded to finish off the cartel member and the duo made their way to the main warehouse. Once they got through the main warehouse, they would get to what Wade said would be where they were holding Kim's brothers. However, when they got to the clearing Ron could not believe his eyes.
"Kim, what are doing!?" Ron screamed at the top of his lungs.
They arrived at an open warehouse floor. Two sets of eyes went wide at what they saw.
The slow methodical Clap of what either woman assumed was the leader of this particular cartel unit echoed through the chamber. Kim completely ignored him, her eyes immediately drawn to the sight of her brother Jim. It was a sight she couldn't unsee. He was blindfolded gagged and missing his whole right hand. The nub was crudely bandaged and bloody, then she noticed something else. Only one of two twins was in the room. Kim lept into action.
Shego saw the same thing Kim did, however she noticed the two bodyguards next to the cartel leader. When Kim went after the leader, she was shocked to see that she went after him with her fists not her firearms. Before the two guards could react Shego went after them with concentrated plasmablasts from both hands, taking them out before they could react.
Kim planted a fist straight into the leader's face, unfortunately, the cartel leader has been in fights before and was able to tank the shot. He countered with a left jab which the redhead slipped the attack like a trained boxer and followed up with a strong right. Kim used her Kali training to redirect his next strike away from her while bringing up her kneed to make contact with his ribs taking the wind out of the leader's sails. She then followed up with an elbow to the forehead. The cartel leader staggered before attempting to lunge at Kim. She counted by doing a flying muay Thai knee to his chest. This left him desperately gasping for breath as she axed kicked his kidney.
"Two boys were kidnapped, where is the other one." Kim bent down and asked the man who did his best to spit in her face. In response, she turned the man over punched him in his liver. Pain radiated throughout his whole body. Kim drew her pistol and placed it to the man's head.
"Where is the other boy?" The global justice agent said through gritted teeth, but before the man could speak a pair of ninja arrived on the scene.
"Kim, what are doing!?" Ron screamed at the top of his lungs.
"My mission!" Kim replied.
"Team Possible doesn't kill!" The ninja yelled at the redhead who rolled her eyes. She then shot the Cartel leader in his left knee. She holstered her pistol and turned to her boyfriend. Tapped a few buttons on her wrist communicator. This caused two neon emerald green stripes to go down the sides of her legs and her nanite suit to manifest a helmet with a visor.
"This isn't a team possible mission, this is a GJ SOG operation." The redhead then turned to the cartel leader.
"Where is the boy. You have moments to tell me before you bleed out, so if you would like to live tell me where the other boy is," She emphasized her point pulling her pistol out. The man bleeding to death simply spat in her face. The global justice operative Exception, she shot the man in the other knee.
"Now you have less than half the time." This is when the man gave in screaming incoherently. The only discernible word was Gemini. Kim was satisfied with the man's confession and walked away.
"You're going to let me bleed out and die!?" The desperate voice of the cartel cried out as Kim walked over to her brother. She undid the restraints. Took down her visor.
"Kim, you have to help him!" Ron screamed trying to reason with his girlfriend.
"You're loud for a ninja," was the only reply he got from her. Ron decided to take action and ran to help the man, however, Kim's rifle was faster. The boy was left wide-eyed.
"Kim, what the hell!"
"Remember the rules of engagement." Kim spat.
"Subete no kyōi o korosu" Yori stated as Kim nodded. Ron was making his way to Kim. He wanted to confront her about how this wasn't the way they did things ever. Before he knew it Shego was in front of him. His shouldn't be possible. He had heightened senses from his mystical monkey powers.
"Stand down Stoppable." The boy looked into emerald eyes that appeared to almost glow with cosmic power. He gave a huff and sat down on a nearby crate. Meanwhile, Kim finished taking off the last of the restraints on her brother. Then grabbed her medical bag.
"Don't worry Jim we're going to get you out of here and back home, I promise." She said in a soft sweet tone as the boy began to tear up. She got her medical pack out and motioned to Shego. She punched out a device on her kimuncator and it produced a stick. She then threw it on the floor and the stick changed into a stretcher.
"It's over now," She kissed her brother's forehead gently, easing him onto the stretcher. She disengaged. The portion of her battle suit over her hands and grabbed the medical gloves out of the pack. Shego also grabbed a pack and started an IV. Kim hooked up a heart rate and O2 monitor. The whole time Kim talked sweetly to her brother. She used her Kimunicator to tell her brother's new weight and had Shego administer a mild sedative from the pack according to Kim's instructions. This helped her brother fall asleep. Only then did she remove his blindfold. Shego and Kim then secured the boy to the stretcher. Despite never doing anything like this together, much like their fights, Kim and Shego worked in perfect sync. Like poetry, in motion, a red-clad thief noticed as she finally mustered the bravery necessary to make her presence known.
Kim pressed a few buttons on her Kimunicator as it spat out another card. She threw it at the center of the room. A large holographic firefly appeared.
"What's with the glow bug?" Isabella asked walking into the room.
"It's a signal to GJ that we are ready for pick up, and when the local law enforcement finds it. The info they get from it points them directly to GJ. GJ will then tell them to bury this incident deeper than Jimmy Hoffa." Kim explained.
The five members of the cartel raid and Jim waited for about thirty minutes before the GJ Helicopter came. Dr. Director and a team of trained GJ agents and medical staff came to assist the group. Dr. Director was not surprised to see the Yamanouchi ninja, however, expect to see the two thieves.
"Whats Shego and this other person doing here?" She asked.
Isabella threw her bag of hard drives at the one-eyed spy.
"The names' Carmen Sandiego." She said confidently, to which Dr. Director simply raised an eyebrow.
"I was under the assumption Carmen Sandiego was at the very least retired." The one-eyed woman turned to look at Shego.
"Well it's clear she isn't; I mean look at her cyclops, she's got the look and everything!" Shego countered.
"Very well, I'll take your word for it." The brunette then turned to Kim.
"And the mission?"
"Clean op ma'am," Kim replied to which Dr. Director nodded.
"Clean op? Kim, there are bodies, people were killed!" Ron interrupted, however, Shego got right in his face. She had had this conversation before and was not about to put Kim through the pedantic diatribes that some got from a Batman comic.
"Back off buffoon! If you don't have stomach for this, fine. Then admit it and walk away." She snarled.
"Fine, Yori and I have to report back to master sensei." Ron walked out and disappeared with Yori behind him shaking her head. The monkey master still had a long way to go before he was ready for another mission.
The group got in the helicopter, the ride was short before being transferred to a VTOL carrier to take them to Middleton medical. In the carrier sat Kim. She had taken off her plate carrier, backpack, etc and had it secured to the seat next to her. She had deactivated her nanite battle suit. She was just in a white tank and shorts. She sat there staring off into empty space.
"Is she going to be ok?" Isabella asked Shego.
"Was it easy your first time knowingly being a part of that much violence?" Shego replied.
"I'm not sure, I was kind of mind-controlled? I don't know but somehow I was turned into the 'evil' version of myself." The woman in red lamented.
"VILE had a reverse polarizer?" Shego asked surprised.
"A what?"
"Never mind." The former thief waved off as a loud boom of something shifting during flight echoed in the bay. Shego saw Kim twitch towards her rifle. This caused her to sit next to the redhead. She pulled her into her.
"It's okay Princess."
"You can switch it off now. You're safe, everybody is safe." She said gently stroking the girl's hair The former teen hero started sobbing.
"Am I going to lose Ron, am I a monster, What if Jim doesn't make it." She sobbed as Shego comforted the girl.
"No, Princess you're not a monster and you won't lose Ron, not if he isn't an idiot. Your brother will be just fine. I promise." The green woman said in a soft 'Miss Go-esque' voice. She continued to let the redhead cry almost the whole way.
Just before arrival at Middleton medical, Shego pulled Kim up and looked at her.
"Ok, Kimmie, we are about to arrive at the hospital. Can you be strong for your family.?" The question was simple, the task itself insurmountable. Both women knew this, yet Kim nodded anyway.
"Could you come with?" the redhead asked.
"Sure, anything," was all Shego could reply.
AN: Thanks for reading. A few quick notes.
So, I did have to mess with the Carmen Sandiego cannon a bit. Essentially the Original series and the 2019 remake are being retconned a bit to be in one continuous timeline. More on how that will all work comes up in future chapters. Though it may be worth a spinoff for Carmen's (2019) post-season 4 and Pre this fanfiction. Not sure you tell me.
Second note: If there are gaps you may be wondering or if anything seems too random, I'd give my Fic All the drama of the past a read. That fic is a bunch of in-universe one-shots that work as companion stories to this main fic. There's definitely more backstory and relevant past events than I can stick in these already fairly long chapters.
Anyway, thanks for reading hope you liked it. I plan to update as often as possible. There should be 10-12 chapters for this cour.
