I do not own Kim Possible or the song Same old Lang Syne by Dan Fogleberg. I often reference people, places, and things. I do not own those either. I only own my OC Jack Giri.

Authors note: In the light of the Christmas season I decided to make a Christmas story. This is a short RonGo fic based on the song Same Old Lang Syne.

Kim possible" An Old Lang Syne.

It had been many years since Ron had graduated high school and he had undergone many changes since. Currently he was in the grocery store. He didn't know why, not like he needed to prepare a Christmas feast for anyone, for he had no one. Rufus had passed away a few years back and He hadn't seen Kim or anyone from the old days in years. Even though he was Jewish, in the past he had celebrated Christmas with Kim and her family but those days had long sense passed.

Ron no longer looked like the lanky buffoon he once was. Over the years he had bulked up, becoming a bit taller and more muscular as he had grown his hair out to just below the tops of his shoulders and had also grown a short beard. He was wearing a grey coat, yellow turtle neck sweater, blue jeans, and black cowboy boots. As he stood somberly pondering his passed life something caught his eye, or more specifically someone.

Ron looked up to see a woman with long flowing black hair looking at the frozen vegetables. Her back was turned to him and he could not see her face but something about the figure seemed familiar to him. "It couldn't be… Could it?" Ron thought to himself with a small glimmer of hope before going over and gently tugging on the woman's sleeve. She was wearing a coat similar to his but more feminine in design, black tight fitting pants, brown heeled boots, and a red beanie hat. As the woman turned around it was just as he had suspected. The woman had light green skin and those same piercing deep green eyes he had always remembered.

"Shego?" Ron asked with a hint of surprise. In truth he wasn't really that surprised since he knew it to be her but the whole situation felt so surreal. She looked at him with confusion evident on her face as she examined him before her eyes flew open wide. "Ron!? My gosh I haven't seen you for ages!" Shego exclaimed before embracing him in a large hug, spilling her purse in the process. Ron was hesitant at first, since he hadn't been expecting such a warm reception from the green skinned beauty but he soon returned the gesture. Ron couldn't explain it but her hug felt really warm and genuine. It had been ages since he had seen anyone from the good old days.

Their hug had lasted longer than Ron had expected but when they parted Shego looked up at him with a bright and cheery smile. Ron blushed faintly before clearing his throat. "Here, let me, get that for you." Ron said with some embarrassment as he bent down to grab her purse. While he was down there he noticed the ring on her finger. "Figures…" Ron thought somberly to himself as he stood up and handed her her purse. "Thanks." Shego said with a bright smile and closed eyes. As she smiled Ron couldn't help but stare in wonder as this didn't seem to be that same green villainess he knew all those years ago.

"So what are you doing here on Christmas eve Ron? Don't you have family to be with?" Asked Shego. Hearing her question Ron snapped out of the trance that she seemed oblivious to him being in as he turned his attention back to the matter at hand. "…Not really." Ron grumbled as he placed his hands in his jacket pockets and shrugged. Shego looked very surprised at this as she placed a hand over her open mouth. "O-oh…? Well, I'm just about done here if you want to fallow me out to my car. I would love to catch up if you have the time." Shego said with another very un shego like sweet smile. Ron paused for a moment as he looked at her with surprise before replying. "I would like that." He said simply.

After getting the last few things she needed Ron walked her to the checkout stand. Not surprisingly since it was Christmas eve there wasn't a long line with only two people in front of them. The silence between him and Shego was a bit awkward and embarrassing but Ron had gotten better at looking confident over the years so to onlookers he didn't look out of place.

Once they got to the front of the line Ron took notice to the man running the counter. He was a muscular man, just a bit shorter than he was with slicked back brown hair and a beard. His name tag read "Jack." Ron had never seen him before but the man looked out of place somehow. "Hello, did you find everything alright?" The man asked in a deep voice. "Oh, um, yea." Ron said absentmindedly as he helped Shego unload her cart.

Jack bagged the groceries for them and loaded them into the cart before turning to finish the transaction as Shego paid. "Merry Christmas." Said Jack with a smile. "Thanks, you too." Shego said back with a smile as she placed her card back into her purse. Ron than noticed as Jack than turned to look at him. "You take care of you and yours." Said Jack. The wards sounded friendly enough but Ron couldn't help but feel like the man was antagonizing him somehow.

Ron than took the cart from Shego and began pushing it towards the parking lot. From the outside window Ron could see that the snow appeared to be falling harder now. He couldn't place it but somehow that felt strange.

Ron fallowed Shego out to her car, which was just a dark blue 2008 Toyota Camry. As she unlocked the door and opened the trunk she than turned back to Ron. "So is your car nearby?" Shego asked as she began loading the bags into the trunk. "No, I took the bus." Ron said casually with a small shake of his head before helping her. "And you just ended up here?" Shego asked, clearly finding it strange sense he really had no point being there. "Yea, it's strange… Guess the lord works in mysterious ways." Said Ron.

The shopping cart was soon empty and Shego pushed it off to the side for someone to get later. "Well I don't know anything about that but if that's what you believe that's what you believe. Come on." Shego said as she shut the trunk and gestured for him to fallow her inside the car. Once they were both inside her car Shego began to drive. Ron looked around the inside of the car and noticed there were no car seats in the back so he figured that whoever she was married to, they didn't have kids.

"How about a Christmas drink Stoppable?" Shego asked with a small smirk as she glanced over to him while driving. "Um, sure." Ron said as he looked back over at her. He was a bit surprised by the offer. He didn't drink much himself, and this new Shego at first glance didn't really seem like much the drinking type either but he supposed a bit of the old Shego was still in there somewhere.

They drove around for a little while but every bar that they came to was closed. "Just pull into that 7/11." Ron said as he pointed to the store just up ahead on the right. Pulling into the parking lot Ron went inside and grabbed a six pack of Dos Equis and went up to the counter. The guy running the register looked familiar with slicked back brown hair, a bread, and a name tag that said Jack.

Ron stood perplexed for a moment as the man rung him up. "Something wrong sir?" Asked Jack. "Didn't I just see you at the grocery store?" Ron asked perplexed. "No sir, I have been here all night." Said Jack. "Do you have a twin?" Asked Ron. "Not that I know of." Jack said looking a bit confused. "Hmm… Oh well, must just be the stress of the holidays." Ron said with a shrug. "Don't worry about it. You take care of you and yours." Jack said as he handed Ron the receipt. Ron looked at him wide eyed and watched him carefully as he grabbed the six pack from off the counter and slowly made his way to the door. This was beginning to feel unreal.

Ron soon forgot about it as he got back into the car with Shego. They drove to a snowy secluded road by the park and parked under a street light as the snow came down. As shego turned off the car Ron reached for the beers and realized he didn't have a bottle opener. "Crap! No bottle opener." Ron exclaimed. "Here." Shego said as she held her hands out for him to hand her two of the beers.

Ron did as such and handed her two bottles. To his surprise Shego simply slid her thumb nails under the lip of the bottle caps and popped them off with ease. "Wow!" Ron said with wide eyed surprise. "Impressed? Thanks to my powers I do have strong nails and super human strength. Well not as much as my brother, but I'm still pretty strong." Shego said with a smirk as she handed him an open bottle.

Ron took the bottle and glanced over at her as she had a drink before taking one himself. "So Shego…" Ron began but was cut off. "Oh, I don't go by that name any more. Just call me Brandi." Shego said with just a hint of distain directed at the name she once went by as she took a sip of her beer.

"Alright, Brandi... I couldn't help but notice the ring on your finger…" Ron said somewhat distantly before taking another swig of his beer. "…You remember Dr. Drakken right? Drew…" Brandi Said just a bit somberly before taking another drink. Ron nodded. "Well I married him…" Brandi said a bit distantly before taking another drink. "O-oh… So how is that going?" Ron asked before taking another drink.

Brandi paused for a moment as her eyes looked distant. Ron looked to her with a bit of surprise as he could sense her emotional distance. "I would like to say I love him, but… Well I have been many things in my life but I liar isn't one of them." Brandi said with sad bitterness before taking a large gulp of her beer.

Ron looked around the car before continuing. "I noticed there are no car seats in the back… So I take it you have no kids." Ron said before taking another drink. Brandi shook her head sadly. "That requires certain things. Things we haven't done in a long time." She said sadly before finishing her beer. "O-oh…" Ron said feeling unsure of what to say that could possibly comfort her. "…You know, the years have been a friend to you. Not a grey in your hair and your eyes as just as green." Ron said with a smile, trying to cheer her up. Brandi stared into his eyes for a moment before turning away sadly. As Ron had looked into her eyes he couldn't tell if he saw doubt or gratitude.

"I didn't always have green eyes you know?" Brandi said softly. "You didn't?" Ron asked with surprise before finishing his beer. "No. My eyes used to be a very dark brown. The comet that gave me my powers also caused them to change colors." Brandi said somewhat somberly. "Oh…" Ron said trailing off as he wasn't sure what to say to that.

Brandi than reached over between his feet and grabbed two more beers before opening them. "So Stoppable, what are we drinking to?" Brandi asked as she handed him a beer. Ron paused for a moment as he thought about it. "To auld lang syne." Ron said in a bittersweet voice. "To time long past. To the good old days. I can get behind that." Brandi said before clinking her bottle against his with a small smirk before beginning to down her beer.

Ron began drinking with her as an awkward silence filled the car. "So what about princess?" Brandi asked with an underlying tone of bitterness before drinking some more. "…I hadn't seen her in years… And then one day I got a call… Saying that she had passed away." Ron said with bitter sadness. Brandi turned to him with a look of surprise. "What happened?" She asked. "We had grown apart... Different callings I guess…" Ron said sadly before taking another drink. "You would have thought she died on a mission, but no… Heart attack. Life is so very simple, and fragile… You're here living your life one minute, than boom... The good lord takes you. "Oh my Ron! I'm so sorry…" Brandi exclaimed as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "But… I never saw anything on TV…" Brandi said sadly. "Her family wanted to keep it quiet." Ron said in simple sadness before taking another drink.

There was a long pause as they drank before they began to speak again. "I have seen you on TV however... So you're the leader of some group of Ninjas?" Brandi asked. "Yea, after the whole lorwardian incident I went back to the Yamanouchi school. They were the ones who taught me how to use my monkey powers. After my sensei died I took his place and decided that we needed to let the world know of our presence. While I was busy doing that Kim had gone and joined Global Justice." Ron said with just a hint of sadness before taking another drink.

"Oh, Drew works for Global Justice as well. He's a scientist, works all the time." Brandi said before taking another drink. Ron looked over at her, feeling bad for her. She deserved better than that. "What about your parents?" Asked Brandi. "They died a few years back in a plane crash. They were on a business trip with my little sister when one of the plane's engines failed and it crashed." Ron said somewhat sadly before taking another drink. "What about that little hairless guy you used to always carry around in your pocket.?" Asked Brandi. "He died about a year ago. Old age." Ron said between drinks. "Damn, you really are alone aren't you?" Brandi said with disbelief before downing her beer. "Yea…" Ron said in distant sadness before continuing his beer.

Soon they each were on their last beer and were both feeling a little buzzed from the alcohol. Ron was silent as he thought about his current situation. Sure he was all alone for the most part, with the exception of his fellow ninjas, but it seemed that she was just as alone. It must be hell being married to someone who didn't love you. To be totally alone with your significant other right next to you. "You know you, deserve better." Ron said with bitterness before taking another drink.

Brandi looked over at him with surprise before her lips twisted up in an amused smirk. "Nice try Ronald but it's going to take a lot more than a few beers to get into my pants." Brandi said with sarcastic amusement before taking another drink of her beer. "No I mean it. Does he even remember your name?" Asked Ron. Brandi chuckled. "Sometimes I wonder." She said with slight amusement. There was than a pause as they drank their beers, awkward quietness filling the car. "Anyways, thanks…" Brandi said before continuing her beer.

Ron and Brandi finished their beers and talked and joked a bit about the old days for a while. In a way it was weird but they both enjoyed each other's company. Sadly it could not last forever as it was getting late and Brandi had to go home to the husband she did not love. "Well it's unfortunate, but I must be getting back home." Brandi said plainly. "I understand. I thank you for your time. I enjoyed it." Ron said with a soft smile as he placed his hand on the door handle and was about to leave as he saw the thankful and somewhat pain filled look in her eyes.

Ron paused for a moment to look at her in awe. To his surprise she slowly leaned forward and gently placed her hand on his cheek as she slowly leaned in closer and kissed him on the edge of his mouth. "Good night Ronald. Perhaps we will meet again one day." Brandi said in a warm and gentle tone as she looked him in the eye. "Yea… I hope so." Ron said softly before getting out of the car.

As Ron began to walk away he was still in shock of what had just happened. As he walked he turned back to watch the woman once known as Shego start her car and drive off. Ron stopped mid stride as he turned back to watch her tail lights begin to fade into the darkness. For a moment Ron's heart began to sink as he felt an old familiar pain.

-FLASH BACK-

"It's not working Ron." Kim said out of nowhere. The weather had just started to change as the leaves on the trees has just begun to fall. "What do you mean?" Ron asked with curious concern. "I mean us Ron. …I think it's time we went our separate ways..." Kim said trailing off as she looked off distantly as she held her shoulder. Ron froze as he felt his blood turn to ice. "But Kim… We been together sense pre K. Why would you say such a thing?" Ron pleased as his eyes began to water. "It's what's best for everyone Ron. It seems that life has separate callings for us… GJ wants me full time and Yamanouchi needs you. …You know Sensei doesn't have much time left." Kim said sadly, unable to look at him.

Ron gritted his teeth as he looked off in thought. His heart was shattering. Kim was his world, or so he thought. Though he could not deny that Sensei would not live forever and that he had a responsibility to take his place. "Are… You sure this is what you want to do?" Ron squeaked out painfully as he managed to keep his tears in check. Kim sniffled as she whipped away a few tears that had begun falling. "It is. I'm sorry Ron…" Kim said sadly. "I… I understand…" Ron said in bittersweet sadness. He felt like he had been torn apart. But he was no longer that buffoon from high school. He was a man, and he had responsibilities. As did Kim.

"I'm sorry Ron…" Kim said softly before kissing him on the cheek and taking her leave. As Ron watched Kim walk away the tears began to fall. Little did he know that was the last time he would ever see her alive.

-ANOTHER FLASH BACK-

It was a cold dreary morning. Not raining, but depressing none the less. Ron stood there as he watched them slowly lower Kim's black coffin into the ground. On his shoulder was Rufus who was rubbing his cheek and trying to comfort his beloved owner as small drips of tears streamed down their faces. "Well Kim… I guess it's over… The final end… We had a good run, but it looks like your time has come…" Ron said in bittersweet sadness as the tears began to fall harder. There were many people all around him but Ron never felt more alone. Even with his parents, sister, and Wade on either side of him, it was like no one else was there.

-END FLASH BACK-

Shego's lights shortly faded from view and Ron felt more alone than perhaps ever before. As Ron turned and began to make his way back home the snow turned into rain. "Merry Christmas Ron..." Ron said quietly to himself as the tears began to fall in time with the rain drops.

Author's note: This is my second RonGo fic. It is short as was the other one I did called "Some girls do." I am a RonGo fan but I don't plan on doing a long once since I am already working on a few long fictions. I am however considering doing a second chapter to this where Ron gets Shego. Also if you are a follower of my "The white Lion and The Green Rattlesnake" fiction you have just learned a detail about Brandi/Shego that I was going to add later. Her eyes weren't always green.
