Chapter 2 Wave

I don't own Digimon Or The Rising of the Shield Hero

The group was at an inn that Naofumi had to rent and they were inside to talk.

"So you guys are telling me that your all from a different world that is connected to this one where these things come from?"Naofumi said and they were all sitting on a table.

"They're called Digimon."Kari said.

"But to answer your question yes."Judai said.

"If I wasn't dragged to this world from my own I would have called you both crazy."Naofumi said.

"I understand, it's what a normal person would say."Judai said.

Kari looks at Raphtalia and said:"So, what's with Raphtalia, why does she have ears and a tail?"

"She's a demi human that I "bought" in this town."He said with a sigh.

They got surprised and Gatomon said:"You mean like a slave?"

"Yes, but in this city theres so many of those guys."Naofumi said.

"That's screwed up."Judai said.

Kari looks at her."So Raphtalia, what's your opinion on this?"

"Well... At first I thought he was going to abuse me like what happened to the others... But he didn't, he treated me with kindness and even healed my illness."She smiles at them."I couldn't be anymore happier with him."

"Well... I believe her."Impmon said.

Naofumi sighs and gets up.

"Did something happened to you?"Judai asked stopping him.

"What?"Naofumi said.

"I can tell by how a person acts, you were framed of something you didn't do."Judai said.

"How would you know?"Naofumi glares at him.

"Because I was once framed for something that I didn't do."He said surprising Naofumi."But the only difference it seems that they couldn't convict me for the crimes since the evidence was enough to free me, so I trust you."

Naofumi got surprised.

"If he trusts you then so do I."Kari said.

"Fine."He said.

Later

Kari, Judai, Impmon and Gatomon have joined with Naofumi's party and they have been grinding as one would say, Kari and Judai were wearing chainmail and armor pieces of they're own colors.

Impmon and Gatomon were hidding for now since if people saw them questions will be asked.

They also noticed Raphtalia growing slowly making the three guys confused while Naofumi didn't even noticed.

"So where to?"Judai said.

"We're going to a shop."Noafumi said.

They arrived at a weapons store and saw the owner there.

"Well, look at that..."The guy looks at Raphtalia."You've turned into a pretty lady."

Naofumi looked confused.

"I haven't seen you in a while, so what have you been doing?"He asked.

"I've finally learned the correct table manners from the Innkeeper, I want to eat my food with Naofumi, Judai and Kari."She said.

"Who?"He said.

"Us."Judai said pointing at himself and Kari.

"Oh you must be new party members of him."He said."I am Erhard."

"Yeah we are, we joined a few days ago."Kari said.

"Well he must be lucky having you here."Erhard smiles."If you need anything you can ask me."

"Master Naofumi, we must get you some armor."Raphtalia said.

"But we came here to get you a weapon."Naofumi said.

"You got hurt fighting a monster, so you must take care of yourself."She said.

"When did that happened?"Kari asked.

Naofumi shows a cut he got on his waist."It's nothing."

"Naofumi you better take care of yourself or you'll..."She takes a sword nearby and points it at him."Die!"

"She's brave."Judai said.

"Hey, this is a good sword, I'll take it."She said.

Next day

They return back to the shop and Naofumi was wearing his new armor.

"Doesn't this make me look like a villain?"Naofumi said.

"I've seen worse, trust me."Judai said.

"You look good master Naofumi."Raphtalia said.

"I call it Barbarian armor, you rock kid."Erhard said.

"I'm supposed to look a hero."Naofumi grunts.

They heard a sound outside and they looked to see many knights on horses coming through.

"Looks like they're getting ready."Judai said.

Naofumi told them about this world, including the waves which is where monsters would appear to attack.

"it's clear everyone is on the edge."Raphtalia said.

"Sure they are, if only we know when they would start to begin a plan."Naofumi said.

"Really? Didn't anyone tell you about the clock?"Erhard said.

"What?"Kari said.

"You know the church in town square? There a big hourglass there, when the last grain ends the heroes an they're parties will be sent where the wave will begin."Erhard said.

"Well let's go check it."Judai said.

"Right."Naofumi said.

They went to the church and a nun guided to where the hourglass was, they arrived at a staircase to see a giant hourglass.

"Well it's big."Judai said.

"Could this be the dragon hourglass the king was talking about."Naofumi said.

"Hey is that Naofumi I see."They looked to see three guys with armor and a red head girl.

Judai looks at them and he sees the woman with red head and knows she's bad news.

Naofumi just walks through them.

"Hey Sir Motoyasu is talking to you Naofumi!"The girl said.

"Let's go."Judai said the girls and they walked away.

The guy in green saw them."I never seen those guys."

"Are they with Naofumi, even with the rumors around him?"The one in blue said.

"Hi there."The blonde guy saw Raphtalia and Kari.

Judai then goes in front of Motoyasu surprising him.

"Judai."Raphtalia said.

"Oh yeah? Who are you?"He said.

"I'm his friend."Judai said surprising them.

"Oh, so your with that criminal?"Motoyasu smirks."No surprise if a thug is with him."

"I rather be a thug than to be some fake hero."Judai said.

"What was that?!"Motoyasu said.

"You heard me, you go around thinking your better than others."Judai said and he can only see this guy as a arrogant and idiotic version of TK.

"How dare you?"The woman said.

"I think those lovely ladies shouldn't be with you guys."Motoyasu said.

Kari frowns and grabs Judai's arm."I think I would like to be with my boyfriend."

"What?!"He got shocked.

"Yeah, so beat it."Judai said and they left.

Next day

Many adventures were gathered at a part of the town, Naofumi's group were there among them.

"Master Naofumi."Raphtalia said.

"What is it?" Naofumi asked.

"Also Judai, Kari." Raphtalia said.

"Yes?"They looked at her.

"Well I... I just... want to say... That I'm truly grateful and... and honored to have met you all. Master Naofumi, you gave me medicine and cured my illness. You allowed to have more meals. And most importantly... you taught me how to live."She looks at the trio."And you protected me and helped me grow stronger."

"Hey what are friends for."Kari smiles.

"Master Naofumi. I swear to be your sword forever."Raphtalia said and Naofumi turns towards her. "So wherever you go, I'm alway be there by your side."

"Yeah us too."Judai said.

Then the skies turned red surprising them.

"So this is the wave."Judai said and they all got transported away.

When they arrived they saw the adventurers all went to different directions.

Kari then saw a village nearby."Hey theres a village here."

"It's the village of lute."Raphtalia said.

Judai then saw a flare in the sky."Is that a signal flare?"

"Yeah, it is."Naofumi answered."But I don't think it's enough to let the knights know where they are. Even though the castle's not far from here, that village will get wiped out long before the knights arrive."

"What's the plan?"Judai asked.

Naofumi thinks about it and said:"Let's go to the village."

"Right!"They said and they charged foward.

At Lute village

A zombie about to kill a young man but then Naofumi comes between them and block a downward slash from the zombie

That helped Raphtalia to finish it off with a sword.

"Sir, are you alright?" Raphtalia asked the villager.

"Raphtalia, look out!" Naofumi said as a zombie is right behind her.

Judai comes down wielding two swords.(Think Sho Minazuki's Twin Blades from Persona 4.)

He slashes many of them and then Impmon came and shoots fire at the zombies.

"Raphtalia, you should go help with the evacuation!"Naofumi ordered her.

"But what about you?" Raphtalia asked him.

"Me and the guys we'll keep then busy while you do it."Naofumi said.

Kari was with Gatomon and she punches many of the creatures away.

Naofumi then saw a zombie go towards a civilian."Air Strike Shield!"He protects a woman with a energy shield.

"Listen up, everybody! I'll keep these zombies busy!"Naofumi told the villagers."So all of you get out while you can!"

"You heard him, just go!"Judai said.

Kari looks at Naofumi's shield and said:"Hey couldn't you get more shields if you added more stuff."

Naofumi thinks about what she said and it clicked."Kari your a genius!"

Judai then got the idea and slashes the creatures into bits and let Naofumi put the parts inside his shield, he then got the Inter-Dimensional shields of Locust, Zombie and Bee along with Bee Needle Shield.

"These will help."Naofumi said.

Sir Hero!" Naofumi turns to see some of the villagers, who for some reason, have things like shovels and pitchforks.

"What are you all doing here?! Get out of here!" Naofumi told the villagers.

"We all change our minds and came after seeing how courageous you and your companions fighting."The man that Naofumi saved earlier said."Lute is our home. It's all we have. We can't just run away and abandon it! We decided to fight with you."

"Good choice."Naofumi replied."Help me keep the enemy pinned down until we can finish the evacuation."

"Right!"They said.

Judai smiles seeing that and he looks at where Impmon is attacking.

"Man these guys are so weak."Impmon smiles and his aura flares up."They don't stand a chance against me."

"Don't show off your power."Judai was worried.

"Right!"They said.

With the other Heroes

The other three heroes were fighting against the Chimera and it roars at them, the goat head then looks at where the village is and could feel a great powers along with the other heads.

"Okay let's finish it."Motoyasu said.

"Lightning spear."

"Wind Arrow."

"Crimson Blade."

They attacked but the Chimera jumps away heading towards the village surprising them.

"Where is it going?"Motoyasu said.

"It must be retreating to heal it self."Ren said.

"We need to stop it."Itsuki said but then more zombies came down stopping them.

Back at the village

The Shield Hero group kept fighting the monsters off with Naofumi using his new shields to ward off the zombies, Raphtalia, Judai and the digimon fought them back too with Kari supporting them.

All of a sudden, several energy spheres were launched to the sky like fireworks before they combine with one another, forming an ovel shaped energy sphere.

"What's that?"Naofumi muttered.

The energy sphere then explodes into hundreds of pieces as it rains down from the sky towards them.

"That's going to destroy the village!"Gatomon said.

Judai got worried and he takes out a card, he spins it around and takes out his digivice that has a slot on the side, he then scans it."Card Slash!"He then scans it completly."Brave Shield!"

Impmon then got the Brave Shield surprising him before he smirks, he then jumps up and takes all the blasts.

"What is that shield?"Naofumi said.

"That is the Brave Shield, one of the strongest shields in the digital world."Judai said surprising Naofumi.

then Impmon managed to stop all of them and comes down."Man, that was close."

A group of knights arrived at the village.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha! We burned all of them in the single strike!"The knight with a mustache laughed.

"Wrong!"He then stops and saw Naofumi's group and Judai said."We the ones that stopped those monsters while your attacked was stopped."

"How dare you?!"The leader said.

"That's what we should be telling you, you attacked this village and not only endanger us but also the villagers."Kari said.

Raphtalia wanted to attack but Ghost said:"He's not worth it."

"Yeah, listen to your master demi human."Leader smirks.

They heard a roar and they looked back to see the Chimera heading towards them attacking the Leader who got scared.

"Air Strike Shield!"Naofumi protects the guy while the Impmon and Gatomon kicked the chimera back."If you don't want to die then fight back."

Leader was scared and the other soldier with the scar said:"Phalanx formation."

"Uh yeah do that."Leader said and they went to formation.

The chimera attacks them.

"Shield Prison."Naofumi traps it but the monster breaks out of it.

Judai charges at it and slashes the creature on the side making it grunt and Raphtalia slashing it's tail off.

"Bada boom!"Impmon attacks it.

"Lightning Kick!"Gatomon kicks it on the main head.

"My turn."Kari takes out her new digivice that was a mixed with her old D 3 and a pink D-Power.

She takes out a card and scans it."Card Slash!"She completes it."Greymon's nove blast!"

Gatomon charges up a fireball and she shoots it attacking the Chimera as it burns, the Chimera roared in pain before failing down defeated.

The other three heroes kept fighting the horde.

"We need to get to it and end this wave."Motoyasu said.

But then all the monsters died as the portals and sky turned back to normal surprising them.

"What just happened, the wave is over?"Motoyasu said.

"But we didn't kill the boss, so why?"Itsuki said.

Ren was just as clueless."Let's go check the village."

They ran towards the village but then stopped to see something that shocked them, they saw Naofumi next to the burnt Chimera with his group.

"Naofumi... Did it...?"Itsuki said.

"That's impossible, theres no way he could do it."Malty said.

"Yeah, theres no way a shield class could stop it."Motoyasu said.

Judai looks at them and smirks."Too bad."

Naofumi then got more shields being the Chimera Meat Shield, Chimera Bone shield, Chimera Leather Shield and Chimera Viper Shield.

"Master Naofumi you got way more shields, but did we won?"Raphtalia said.

"Of course, today is our victory, theres nothing else anyone can say about it."Impmon said.

They agreed and Naofumi just looks away but he was glad to get more shields.

At another dimension

Medea Pideth Machina was watching from a window an she was angry."That shouldn't have happened, these strangers should not be in my universe, I'll make them pay!"

But then a portal opened behind her and she looks only to get grabbed by a giant hand.

"What?!"She tried to use her power but the thing was too strong."This shouldn't be possible!"

Then from the portal she saw six glowing red eyes before she got dragged in screaming, now someone else is in control of the waves and it will wait until it gets stronger.

Note:Here's the Wave chapter and the duo showed off they're Digivices can use cards to power up they're partners, also if you thought that Medea was the main villain well no it's someone else much stronger, the Digimon top tiers would simply destroy her, so I'm replacing her for the actual threat that the duo was called in for.
