Chapter 17: The Destined Duel! Yuugi vs. Kaiba

"All right, we're finally out of that cave." Jonouchi cheered.

"But where on the island are we?" Honda wondered.

"What the…" Bakura blinked, the bottom needle of his Millennium Ring pointing upwards.

"Hey, look!" Anzu pointed to the castle ahead.

"It's Pegasus' castle." Jonouchi exclaimed. "We finally made our way here, Yuugi."

"Kaiba." Yuugi gaped, the CEO of the Kaiba Corporation stopping the group's ascend.

"I won't let you go any further." Kaiba declared.

"Why Kaiba?" Yuugi was confused. "What do you mean?"

"My fate lies on this island." Kaiba replied. "Yuugi, my existence is based solely on the wind of battle. The wind of battle is swirling around us constantly."

"Kaiba, the battle is done with!" Anzu retorted.

"Kaiba," Jonouchi growled. "I'll be your opponent and kick your ass."

"Jonouchi, stop!" Honda chided, he and Bakura pulling the blond back.

"You couldn't win before." Bakura reminded.

"Bakura, you talk too much." Ami sighed.

"That one miracle," Kaiba added. "I've been searching constantly for answers to my questions. 'Why did I lose to Yuugi back then', 'How did Yuugi pull off a miracle'. And now I think I've found them. At that time, Yuugi had something that I didn't have. Yuugi, in order to get into this castle, you're going to have to defeat me. This is our fated duel."

"Yuugi, you don't have to accept this duel." Bakura protested.

"You already have ten Star Chips," Anzu agreed. "So, there's no reason to."

"Yuugi, you should already know." Kaiba interjected. "The duelist blood in my veins boils for another meeting with you."

"Kaiba, I understand." Yami Yuugi took over. "I'll accept your challenge. And I'll defeat you."

"Follow me to our battle stage." Kaiba led the way.

"Yare, yare." Ami sighed. "Those two never change, even when reincarnated."

"Yuugi, in this duel, we'll bet five Star Chips." Kaiba laid down the rules. "The winner will get into Pegasus' castle."

"Fine with me." Yami Yuugi concurred

"We'll use the Duel Disc in this duel." Kaiba explained. "Shuffle your deck and set it into the deck holder on your left hand. The counter is set to 2000 Life Points. Let's go, Yuugi. It's time for our true battle. But this time it will be the ultimate battle with the Duel Discs."

"Whatever kind of duel, I'll accept it." Yami Yuugi shot back. "And Kaiba, I'll defeat you."

"Here it goes!" Kaiba took his turn. "'Gargoyle Powered', attack mode."

"'Curse of Dragon', attack mode!" Yami Yuugi summoned his monster.

"Yuugi, even though we're enemies, we have the same goal." Kaiba stated.

"To defeat Pegasus." Yami Yuugi agreed.

"But if you wish to do that, you should know that you'll lose." Kaiba added. "It's because you cannot defeat Pegasus. Yuugi, what's wrong? Just try and take down my 'Gargoyle Powered'."

"Alright then, I'll attack." Yami Yuugi declared. "Go, 'Curse of Dragon'! Attack the 'Gargoyle Powered'!"

"Arise, 'Vengeful Sword Stalked'!" Kaiba summoned his next monster. "The 'Vengeful Sword Stalker's sword is imbued with the power of my defeated monster, increasing its attack strength by twenty percent. What?" he was stunned when 'Curse of Dragon' vanished. "'Curse of Dragon' disappeared?"

"I've played the 'Monster Replace' Magic card." Yami Yuugi explained. "This Magic Card has the ability to replace one of my monsters with one in my hand that has a higher attack strength. The one with the higher attack strength in my hand is 'Black Magician'."

"Yuugi, my heart is roaring in this battle." Kaiba chuckled, his 'Vengeful Sword Stalker' blasted to bits.

"I call out my 'Curse of Dragon' in attack mode." Yami Yuugi resummoned the dragon.

"'Lamp Spirit, La Jinn'." Kaiba summoned his next monster.

"'Black Magician', attack 'Lamp Spirit, La Jinn'." Yami Yuugi gave the command.

"Trap Card, activate." Kaiba countered. "'Magic Lamp'. The 'Lamp' will redirect your attack to another of your monsters." He explained, 'Black Magician's attack reflected back to 'Curse of Dragon' when it struck the lamp.

"Kaiba, I fell into your trap." Yami Yuugi admitted. "I salute you."
