Chapter 31: Match of the Millennium - Yuugi vs. Pegasus Part 5

"Of course I will." Jonouchi replied.

"Our hearts are with Yuugi." Honda agreed

"Yeah," Anzu nodded. "Even if we're separated, our hearts are always together."

"I don't care if it's 'Power of Darkness' or whatever, nothing will break the bond of our friendship." Jonouchi declared.

"I give you my thanks." Ami nodded and raised her right hand as a golden was-scepter materialized. "Then let's begin."

"Yuugi!" Honda shouted, clasping onto the scepter.

"Don't lose, Yuugi!" Jonouchi encouraged, his hand on the golden staff.

"Yuugi, we're all with you!" Anzu stated, her hand over Ami's palm. "The bond of our friendship will always be linked to your heart."

Walk forward, Yuugi. Ami encouraged. This is the only thing you can do now.

"I'm drawing a card." Yami Yuugi declared.

"Mind Scan!" Pegasus activated the Millennium Eye's power. It's useless to try and stop me, Yuugi boy. You can't hide the identity of that card within your mind for long. "What?" he exclaimed, when the Millennium Eye revealed the shining was-scepter. Something has entered Yuugi boy's mind and preventing me from entering. I can't see the card. "There's just no way! Indeed, he had a strong mind throughout the game; still it's unthinkable for a player's mind to be capable of fending off the 'Power of Darkness'."

"Pegasus, don't you even think about invading Yuugi's mind again." Jonouchi warned as he appeared. Under the shining scepter. "Get the hell outta here!"

"Guys!" Yami Yuugi beamed.

"Pegasus, Yuugi won't lose." Anzu snapped.

"He's gonna kick your ass." Jonouchi growled.

So get ready, Pegasus." Honda hissed.

"Guys, I own you one." Yami Yuugi remarked. "You too, Ami, for guiding them in here."

"Unbelievable!" Pegasus was shocked. "To think your friends were capable of repelling me from the depths of your mind!"

"The power of your Millennium Eye is not capable of tearing down the wall of our feelings!" Yami Yuugi declared. "Here I go, Pegasus! Magic Card: 'Mystic Box'! 'Black Magician' escapes 'Relinquished' in time before 'Jigen Bakudan' self-destructs."

"'Jigen Bakudan' has switched places and is now attached to 'Relinquished'." Pegasus was stunned. "My turn is over." he drew a card.

"My turn." Yami Yuugi drew a card. "'Brain Control'!" he played the card.

"Have you completely forgotten about the time bomb on him?" Pegasus laughed. "Bu doing such a stupid thing, your 'Black Magician' will be blown up by 'Jigen Bakudan' and you'll lose."

"Is that so?" Yami Yuugi questioned. "I still have a set card. The card left by my other soul. 'Dark Magic Ritual', I sacrifice 'Jigen Bakudan' and 'Black Magician' for the ritual. The great magician of Black Magic: 'Magician of Black Chaos' descends! My other self left behind but one card when he was on the verge of collapsing; the 'Dark Magic Ritual'. The magician born from chaos, the fusion of light and darkness. Controller of insanity; the master of all magicians. Pegasus, this is our trump card! Using this trump card, we will defeat you!"

I never expected this of Yuugi boy. Pegasus hissed. But this turn, 'Relinquished' will be freed from his brainwashing. On my next turn , 'Black Chaos' will be absorbed by 'Relinquished' and I will gain all of its power. Yuugi boy, you cannot defeat me, even if you play to all your limits.

Pegasus, I have the bond of friendship in my heart. Yami Yuugi mused. Even the power of your Millennium Item can't break it.."I set a card face-down on this turn. Also, I play another monster in Defense mode. Turn over."

"My turn." Pegasus growled. "The brainwashing effects on 'Relinquished' have worn off and he becomes my monster again. I'll use my trump card to teach you and your little comrades just how meaningless this 'friendship' you speak of is. In that case, I'll play 2 cards on the field. I'll power up 'Relinquished' even further with this. I fuse 'Relinquished' with 'Thousand-Eye Idol'." he activated the 'Polymerization' card. "Evil God: 'Thousand-Eye Restrict'! Yuugi boy, this duel will signal the grand finale of the Kingdom. You will be cursed with a cruel defeat."

"We won't know the result of this match until the very end." Yami Yuugi retorted.

"Thanks to the special ability of the 'Thousand-Eye Restrict' I now have on the field, your 'Black Chaos' will be unable to do a thing." Pegasus bragged. The very moment my 'Thousand-Eye Restrict' opens every eye on its body, the movement of every monster on my opponent's field shall become sealed.

Even though it's fused, the enemy is still a monster with 0 attack points. Yami Yuugi thought. It's surely try to absorb 'Black Chaos' and steal its power. But I won't let that happen. I swore to my other self. I will defeat you with 'Black Chaos'. "No matter what tricks you pull, you won't break the promise we made."

"The final turn!" Pegasus announced. "'Thousand-Eye Restrict's special ability: 'Thousand-Eyes Curse'. And with this, your monsters have all been paralyzed." he chuckled. "The 'Thousand-Eyes Curse' will remain on the field, holding its spell over your monsters. In short, you will be trapped in this everlasting curse forever. All that remains now is for me to activate the central Evil Eye. I'll suck in your monster and steal its powers. It's over, Yuugi boy. The Evil Eye activates!"

"Magic Card, open!" Yami Yuugi countered.

"Once the light from the Evil Eye hits 'Black Chaos', it'll be absorbed by 'Thousand-Eye Restrict'." Pegasus boasted.

"You sure about that?" Yami Yuugi smirked.

"What?" Pegasus was taken aback by the rapidly multiplying Kuriboh. "Kuriboh?"

"You've made a grave miscalculation." Yami Yuugi added. "Activating your Evil Eye also affected my set card, Kuriboh. That effect will now target him as well. In addition, I activated my other set card, 'Multiply'. Kuriboh will be multiplied endlessly. 'Relinquished' has no choice but to absorb every Kuriboh affected by the Evil Eyes' light. But this is my aim. For Kuriboh has the special ability to act as a living land mine and self destruct on contact with the enemy. With Kuriboh's death, my Lift Points decrease by 300 points." he added once the explosions died down. "But all 'Thousand-Eye Restrict's thousands of eyes were destroyed. And at this moment, 'Black Chaos' is freed from its curse. Are you prepared, Pegasus?" he growled. My turn! 'Black Chaos', attack! Spell of Destruction: Death Ultima! 'Thousand-Eye Restrict' was beaten!"

"Pegasus," Yuugi declared. "We've won."

"It's over." Ami sighed in relief as the darkness sphere receded.

"Yuugi!" the others rushed forward.

"That's right, Pegasus!" Anzu blinked. "We have to hurry and make him return your grandpa, Kaiba and Mokuba back to normal.

"Pegasus!" Ami gaped when the group found from the Duel Monsters creator gone. "Since when..."

"Cheater..." Honda growled. "Let's go look for him."

"But we can't just leave Bakura and Mokuba behind." Anzu reminded.

"Hey!" Bakura called.

"Did you return to normal?" Honda asked.

"What do you mean?" Bakura blinked. "When I woke up, I was on the floor."

"Do you not remember anything?" Honda pressed. "That weird ring of yours took control of you again, Bakura."

"The Millennium Ring..." Ami turned to Honda. "That ring..."

"Yeah, it creeped me out, so I tossed it off the balcony." Honda replied.

"Is that so?" Ami nodded.

"Sorry Bakura." Anzu added. "Can you watch over Mokuba?" she requested.

"Alright, but..." Bakura muttered.

"Let's go look for Pegasus." Jonouchi nodded and the group took off.
