The next chapter is posted! Enjoy :)
With Frieza in the lab...
He grunted as they jabbed him with needles. Just how many blood samples did they need from him? Frieza looked over to a metal tray off to the side and must've seen about five vials of his blood. He can only imagine what's in store next for him. Though he really didn't want to hang around to find out.
Each time his gaze went to the exit though, there were about a half a dozen of armed soldiers guarding it. The tyrant was unsure if he wanted to test to see if he was still impervious to their bullets. If his ki is practically nonexistent here, along with his inhuman strength and speed, then Frieza definitely feels like it's something he shouldn't try.
He knows he still has his skills and could probably take out a few people here easily. But when it comes to humans, he knew they will start firing as soon as they seem him attacking someone. A part of him really wants to get the hell out of here. The other side of him is what's making him stay put because he feels if he does somehow manage to escape, they will track down Eve and take her in for questioning. And he didn't want to think about what they would do to her during the process.
How ironic, the mighty Emperor throwing everything away including his life for a mere human. This fate was just as if not even more ironic than his sad time in hell surrounded by countless fairies and stuffed animals. Yet, he doesn't regret it. The time spent with her awoke a side of him he long thought dead and buried with his early sordid past.
Eve may have not been some all-powerful fighter with a high extraordinary battle power. But that didn't mean she wasn't special because in fact; she truly was to him. And as much as he hates to admit it, it would hurt him a hell of a lot more if something were to happen to her rather than him.
"Frieza, I'm going to ask you to lie back on the table now." The head scientist instructed.
The tyrant arched an eye ridge at the squat man.
"Why would I need to do that?" Frieza asked, his voice laced with distrust.
"Because, we have some more test we'd like to run. And we can't have you moving around so much as we preform them." stated.
One of the other scientists who just finished with the last vial turned to his coworker in question.
"But Dr. Heirtz, Sir. I don't believe we have much time for any more invasive procedures before his transfer." He said.
"We'll make time. This creature here is the find of the century. And I'd like to get more out of him before we have to fork him over to the higher-ups." Dr. Heirtz quipped.
Frieza didn't like the look on this man as he spoke of him. The scientist almost had a half crazed look about him. And it showed since he first set eyes on the tyrant up in that interrogation room. Even then, he wanted to snap this weirdo's neck and be done with it. It would do him no good though because soldiers were there with the scientists for security.
After berating his colleague a little more, the squat scientist set his beady gaze back to Frieza with a small smirk.
"Now, lay back, and we will get started." Dr. Heirtz repeated.
Frieza was rather reluctant to do so though. Still calculating what he could possibly do. Only to keep hitting roadblocks and dead ends. Mainly because they all ended the same way; with him being gunned down by the soldiers standing at the other end of the room by his only way out of this shithole.
'DAMMIT!' His mind screamed in frustration.
He leveled Dr. Heirtz with a glare as he slowly started to lay down onto the cold metal table. As soon as his back hit the hard smooth surface Dr. Heirtz turned to another one of his colleagues and gave him a sharp nod. Not a moment later that scientist came to stand next to Frieza and took his wrist and started securing it with one of the restraints.
'Well, this is going to be fun.' Frieza thought sarcastically.
Once the thick strap was secure on his left wrist, the scientist moved down the table to secure his left ankle with another of the restraints. The scientist was a bit fidgety and cautious as he reached for the restraint, eying the tail that swung lazily from side to side every now and then. Probably worried he will get whacked with it.
Before he could secure the restraint though, the elevator doors slid open, and four more people walked in. The soldiers near the elevator didn't give the newcomers a second glance as they ushered out of the large elevator.
Eve, Goku, and Vegeta stood there looking around briefly. Until she spotted something or someone on a table near the back of the nightmarish room they were in. Her eyes widened when she recognized it to be Frieza. He didn't really look her way. A bit preoccupied with the fact that they were in the middle of restraining him to the table.
She grasped the hand of the one standing closest to her, which happened to be Goku's. The saiyan looked down at her and she nods over quickly to the table in the back. He follows her line of sight and spots Frieza.
"Over there." Goku said to Vegeta.
Vegeta turned his attention to the direction he was talking about, and he too saw the tyrant on the table surrounded by a few guys in lab coats. It was certainly quite a sight to the saiyan prince. Already he was regretting what he was about to do, considering it was rather poetic to see his former boss and oppressor about to be experimented on like some common lab rat.
But Lord Beerus and Whis were clear. Get Frieza out and they will all return to their own reality. Remembering that, Vegeta started towards the back of the room towards Frieza and the lab coats.
The one who was in the middle of restraining him paused and saw the new group of people headed their way. Dr. Heirtz hadn't noticed yet because his back was to the group in question.
"Why did you stop? Restrain him Ericson." Dr. Heirtz demanded.
Ericson nodded over to the group that was headed their way.
"We have people headed over here." Ericson told him.
Dr. Heirts and a couple of the other scientists turned their attention to the two soldiers and unknown female scientist headed their way. He looked them over before turning his attention to the petite woman off to the left. She was wearing one of their coats, but she didn't look like any of the scientists he seen working down here. And he knew them all.
Before they could come any closer, another scientist stepped into their path and stopped them from going any further.
"Excuse me, but can you state your business here please?" He asked them.
"We are here to collect the specimen in your care for transfer." Eve told him.
Frieza who was looking the other way quickly turned his attention to the new group upon hearing a very familiar voice. His blood drained from his face and his eyes widened in disbelief when he spotted Eve. Just what the hell was she doing here!?
The scientist furrowed his brows and checked his watch.
"I'm sorry, there must be some misunderstanding. We were informed that this subject wouldn't be ready for transfer until 0400 hours. And it's only 011:47 hours." He replied.
"There's been a change of plans. And their ready for him now." Goku said.
The scientist adjusted his round glasses and gave both the saiyans a wavering look.
"And how is it that you two gained access down here? Clearly, you're both a couple ranks down and therefore shouldn't have any access to this lab." He stated. Then turned back to Eve.
"And I don't recall seeing you here before. Who are you?" He adds.
Eve froze, they all tensed up a bit at the man's accusations and suspicion. He eyed part of the lanyard that was hanging out of one of the pockets of her lab coat. And before she could do anything, he reached over and quickly took it out of her pocket. He turned it over and saw the picture of one of the scientists Goku and Vegeta knocked out on it. Their name right next to the picture.
'Shit! Now they're royally screwed!' She thought.
Goku and Vegeta also realized the gig was up too. The scientist's eyebrows rose in surprise and went to lift up his arm to signal for the soldiers back near the elevator to come over and detain them. Vegeta's scowl crept up into a smirk.
"The hard way it is then." He said.
Quicker than the scientist could blink, Vegeta sent a fist sailing towards the man's face. The force of the punch not only made his head snap back slightly but his whole body was sent crashing back. He hit the floor hard and didn't get back up. That quickly caught the attention of the six armed marines that were by the elevator doors.
And they all came running over to the ones who were causing trouble. Goku noticed them first.
"Here they come!" He said and got down into his fighting stance.
Vegeta did the same when they drew closer.
"Eve, get somewhere safe, now." He instructed, without looking back at her.
She was about to take his advice and move away. Eve actually tried to see if she can possibly get closer to Frieza and help him. But before she could move any further, the marines had gotten there first. They tried to incapacitate the warriors first. But even the most trained marine wouldn't stand a chance against highly skilled warriors such as the saiyans.
Goku and Vegeta fought quickly and effectively against them and were not even struggling. It certainly surprised the marines that were trying to subdue them. And here they wanted to try their best to restrain them without the use of guns. But it looks like they may have to. The two warriors had just tossed the first three marines about like they were nothing.
"Draw your rifles!" One of the remaining three instructed.
The three remaining marines pulled their rifles off of their shoulders to take aim at the two saiyans. Goku knocked one of the rifles pointed at him upwards making the marine shoot the ceiling. While Vegeta quickly reached forward and grabbed the long barrels pointed at him and ripped the rifles from the soldiers' grips. He tossed one aside while using the remaining one to nail one marine in the stomach with the butt of the rifle making him double over. Then Vegeta swung it at the marine's head and knocked him to the ground.
The second marine charged forward and threw a punch at the saiyan prince's throat. But Vegeta saw it coming and dodged the hit. He grabbed the marine's fist and twisted his arm behind his back. Then sent a small front kick to the man's back and sent him sailing forward.
At first, Frieza didn't know who these two men were when they came in with Eve. It wasn't until they started fighting that he instantly recognized the two were Goku and Vegeta. He knew these saiyans for years and was very familiar with their fighting styles. No one could mistake them for anyone else. But what were they doing here? And why was Eve here with them? He knew these two can handle themselves, but she wasn't safe here.
Frieza reached over to undo the restraint on his left wrist. The scientist who was putting the restraints on him a few minutes earlier saw him trying to take it off.
"Hey!" Ericson said.
The tyrant just looked at him and smirked. Then slammed his tail into the scientist's midsection sending him sailing back a couple yards. Then Frieza went to work on the restraint. Until a couple sets of hands pressed down on his shoulders trying to hold him down. Three more scientists came over to hold his legs and thus the struggle to get off the table ensued.
At some point during the skirmish someone raced to the other side of the room to hit the alarm on the wall. Vegeta saw this and sharply turned to Goku.
"Kakarot! To your left! Stop that scientist from sounding the alarm now!" He shouted to the other saiyan who was closer to the scientist in question.
"Got it!" Goku said, as he quickly sent an uppercut to one of the other remaining marines.
He made a dash to the slower scientist. Before he could make the last five feet towards the alarm on the wall, Goku tackled him to the ground. A swift punch to the back of the head knocked the man out.
The rest of the scientists in there were running about in a panic. Some didn't watch where they were going and crashed into some of the carts holding various tools. While a couple others lost their footing when someone ran into them and knocked them into tables with beakers filled with chemicals on them.
Eve tried her best to stay out of everyone's way at this point. She tried to dodge around as many people as she could. Until one slammed into her taking them both to the ground. She landed on her back hard with a pained hiss. When she looked up to the person in question, she realized it was the scientist who stopped them and foiled their plan in the first place. The first one Vegeta punched out.
His glasses were now bent, one lense was cracked, and there was a nasty cut across the bridge of his nose and blood was still gushing from his nostrils. He was a little discombobulated at first from colliding with her. When his gaze refocused, he glared down at her.
"You! This is all your fault!" He accused.
The pissed off scientist reached down to grab her. But Eve quickly drew her legs back and snapped them forward, nailing him in the gut and sent him sprawling back. Then she got up, spotted an empty beaker on a cart next to her, and grabbed it.
When he finally stumbled to his feet, she hit him over the head with the glass beaker. It smashed into pieces on impact with his head. And once again, he crashed to the ground and didn't get back up.
The fight didn't last too much longer. Despite the stubbornness and determination of the marines they were quickly losing ground. Goku tossed the last two into a few of the scientist holding down Frieza. They all went crashing to the ground instantly and the tyrant's legs and right arm were finally free once more.
A few moments later, the small group of marines were down foe the count and so were a number of the scientists. Goku and Vegeta still remained standing and barely broke a sweat from the fight. While Eve stood clumsily to the side looking around in shock at what just happened. Then the silence was broken by a sharp click.
They turned their attention to the source of the odd sound. And saw one scientist stumble to his feet, with a gun in hand. The man in question looking worse for wear was none other than Dr. Heirtz. The two saiyans stayed rooted to the spot trying to figure out what to do.
"If you think I will let you walk out of here with this alien specimen than you have another thing coming." He said, between pants with a glare on his face.
The scientist eyed the three of them while shifting the gun back and forth between Eve, Goku, and Vegeta. She was a little further away from the two and closest to Frieza's position. His beady gaze settled on her and he started to lift the gun and point it in her direction.
"I think we should start with you." Dr. Heirtz said.
"EVE!" Goku and Vegeta shouted.
The gun went off. But Eve wasn't hit, because something else blocked the bullets trajectory. Her eyes widened in horror with a gasp she saw a familiar pale figure standing in front of her. Everyone was stunned, even Dr. Heirtz, who dropped the gun to the floor upon realizing his mistake.
Frieza felt the sharp intense pain as the bullet pierced his chest. And slowly raised his hand and pressed it to the gaping hole in his sternum. Blood came out with each pump from his beating heart. His breathing started to become ragged. He slowly turned to Eve.
"Are...are you alright?" He rasped.
Before he dropped to the floor. Eve snapped out of her stupor and dropped to her knees next to him.
"No...no,no,no, why? Why did you do that?" She blurted out while trying to press her hand over his on his gunshot wound.
A raspy chuckle left him.
"Seemed like...a good idea at...the time." Frieza said with a smirk between pants.
His chuckle turned into a coughing fit. Speckles of blood came out with the coughs. Eve's eyes started to tear up. Goku came running over to their aide. While Vegeta went over and knocked out Dr. Heirtz. Then he kicked the gun away just in case he woke up.
"Frieza hold on. We're going home soon." Goku said.
The tyrant's breathing was becoming more labored, and his vision was starting to blur in and out a little. Unconsciousness was pulling at him.
"Not..not soon enough. Just get her...get her out of here." Frieza told Goku.
"No! We're getting you out of here too!" Eve cried.
His crimson gazed focused back on her. A sad smile arose on his face.
"I'm sorry, Eve. But I can barely move as it is." He rasped.
It was becoming much harder for him to breathe now. And his vision started blackening in the corners. Frieza never took his eyes off of her tearstained face. He never thought it would end like this. But when he saw that man point the gun at her, he knew he had to act fast. And he doesn't regret it, better him then her.
"Just stop, stop talking! You're only making it worse!" Eve said, between sobs.
"It doesn't matter. The injury is grave either way." Frieza said.
Vegeta watched the scene from a few feet away. He knew what this meant. Time for Plan B.
"Dammit." He muttered.
Then he looked up at the ceiling and opened him mouth to call out to them.
'No need for that, Vegeta. We're already here.' Came Whis's disembodied voice.
Not a few moments later a bright light lit up the room. And when it subsided, both Lord Beerus and Whis were standing in the center of the room not far from them. They strolled past Vegeta towards Eve, Goku, and Frieza. The latter they could tell was moments from death's door.
They stopped right in front of them. Whis looked down at Frieza and tutted at him like a child who did something wrong.
"My, my this certainly won't do. While I commend you for your actions Frieza, you should've known that in this reality in the state you were in; that this will in fact kill you." Whis lectured.
Frieza let out a weak snort.
"Really? I haven't noticed." The tyrant rasped.
A small, amused smile tugged at the angel's lips.
"Don't worry though. We will have you cleaned up in a jiffy." Whis said, in a cheery tone.
"Will you quite stalling and hurry, Whis. I sense more humans on their way down here. I rather us be gone before they get here." Lord Beerus snapped impatiently.
Whis twirled his staff and pointed it at Frieza. His body flashed and within an instant the grievous injury was gone along with all the blood. It was as if he was never injured to begin with. A teary smile and relieved gasp left Eve's lips. Frieza turned his gaze to her and gave her a small smile.
"Alright everyone, time to go home." Whis stated.
With a tap of his staff on the floor they all disappeared in a bright flash of iridescent light. Leaving behind some very scared and confused scientists. It may have not been a clean escape. But at least they made it.
Until Next Time ;)
