The next chapter is up! Enjoy :)
They all sat in awkward silence for a good couple minutes. Being gone from home for over a year, Eve was unsure on how to tackle this. Her parents also couldn't seem to take their eyes off of the alien beings. Her brother was looking back and forth between everyone. Drew also seemed quite baffled by the child in Frieza's arms. She looked a little like his sister.
"Are we going to start this conversation or just sit here in silence for the entire time? We do have more important things to engage in rather than waste time here." Lord Beerus stated.
Eve closes her eyes and sighs.
"First off, how much did Drew and Devin tell you?" She asked her parents.
"Basically, a story that sounded too outlandish and crazy to be true. Up until now that is." Her dad replied.
"It still seems crazy. How is it that beings like this exist? And why is one of them holding a baby?" Her mom inquires.
"They are from another reality. And...that's where I've been all this time. Don't worry though, I can explain." Eve said.
"Then please, start explaining. Sweetie, we thought the worst when you just disappeared." Her mom said.
"We had no choice, we had to leave. It was no longer safe here. The people at the base knew I was harboring Frieza and I'm sure I was all over those cameras at the lab when Goku, Vegeta, and I went there to break him out. Because of this, I knew it was no longer safe to stay here. So, sadly I had to leave with them. I was scared of what the government would do if I stayed. They are notorious for making people 'disappear' after all if they feel a civilian is hiding something they deem a threat to national security or the world." Eve explained.
"But how did you manage to just disappear from the lab to begin with?" Dad asks.
Eve motioned to the Destroyer and his Attendant.
"Lord Beerus and Whis have the power to travel to other dimensions. They came and got us before the rest of the marines could. And they teleported us back to their reality." She further explained.
"Matt did try to explain to me about them. So, they're really deities then?" Drew asked.
"Why yes we are. And I don't know how much your friend relayed to you; but Lord Beerus is the God of Destruction and I'm his Attendant." Whis replied.
Then he turned his violet gaze back to her parents.
"And the shorter gentleman over here is Frieza. He's not an immortal like us but nonetheless a very powerful fighter in his own right." Whis added.
The parents straightened up in their seats and eyed him before turning their attention back to their daughter.
"Wait is this the same being you supposedly kept hidden in your home for several months? And if so, why would you do something like that? He seems like a very dangerous individual." Dad said.
Neither of them was happy with the fact that Eve had hidden something like this from them. They always believed their adopted daughter could come to them about anything. Instead, she kept this whole thing a huge secret from her family. At least up until their son and their friends discovered Frieza when they entered Eve's home. And even then, Drew didn't say anything to their parents until after Eve disappeared at the base.
For security purposes and his and his family's own safety, Devin kept everything hush hush as well. He still works at the base and luckily nobody suspected him of knowing anything. Because hardly anyone saw him with Eve, Goku, and Vegeta. He even informed Drew not to say anything to anyone else outside of their family. Matt for the most part kept his mouth shut about the whole thing. Where Lina refuses to even bring it up and tried putting it behind her.
"When Eve and I were transported here, I was hit by a vehicle, and became gravely injured. She took me into her home and helped me heal. Of course, I became stuck here and didn't have a way back. So, she allowed me to stay in her dwellings." Frieza said, finally chiming in.
"And the baby?" Mom asks.
"She's ours. Her name is Leah." Eve told them.
Her family seemed quite shocked at her reply. Though her mom already had a feeling that this would be the case. As she figured earlier, the child did resemble her daughter quite a bit and also resembled the alien man who was holding her. The small infant was still fast asleep in her father's arms. But Eve knew she will be waking up soon to be fed.
"This is...certainly a lot to take in. Please, don't take any of this the wrong way. It's just going to take a little time to adjust to this information. As we said earlier, we are glad that after all this time you are alive and well. And by the looks of it, happy. But we must know, why did it take you so long to return to us?" Dad asked.
"Because we needed to wait for everything to settle down here. I wasn't sure if people at the base were possibly looking for me. Even now, we still need to be careful. That's why I'm sad to say, I only came here for a visit, and then we have to go back to their reality where it's safer for all of us." Eve said while little gesturing to Frieza and their infant daughter.
"We gathered that much. Obviously, it wouldn't be safe for the child or alien man to freely live here. But...does this mean after today we will...never see you again?" Drew hesitantly asked.
The thought of never seeing his sister again hurts too much to think about. Hell, he and their parents have been hurting since she disappeared from the base over a year ago and thought the worst.
"Not necessarily, it's not difficult at all to transport them back and forth. Though I highly recommend transporting you to them instead of bringing them here. It's a much better solution that way. At least there they are free to do as they please. Whereas here, they would be confined to most likely this home and even then, it's still a huge risk for them.
I'm still surprised to this day that Eve managed hiding Frieza for as long as she did before he was discovered by her brother and their friends. But it's highly unlikely that they will be able to pull that off again without being seen or getting caught." Whis informed them.
"You mean, you rather transport our parents and me there if we wish to see Eve?" Drew asked, clearly stunned.
"That is correct. As I said, it's nothing too difficult for me. I can take you all back and forth with ease." He replied.
Their parents looked at each other for a few moments. It was strange to be offered something like this. Yet, at the same time it was awfully generous of this being to suggest it. They still wanted to be a part of their daughter's life. And get to know their new granddaughter. Sure, it was strange that their grandchild was not completely human, but she was still theirs regardless. And they never turn their backs on family.
When Eve came into their lives as a broken child from the streets, they treated her like their own flesh and blood. They raised her along with their son and loved her like a daughter. Despite making the choice of choosing to be with this alien being and having a child with him, it didn't mean they loved her any less. They were just originally concerned it would cause endless problems for the unusual pair and later cause heartache.
But the way Eve and Frieza looked at each other shows that things are going strong between them as a family. A family that they all still want to be included in. If traveling back and forth was the only option, they may as well take it.
"As strange as the whole experience will most likely be, we will take the offer. Especially, since this whole time we thought Eve was gone. It seems we missed so much and don't want to miss anymore." Dad said.
"I second that." Drew added.
Whis smiled, "Good to know."
"In the meantime, while we're here; there anything good to eat in this place?" Lord Beerus inquired, seemingly bored already of this conversation.
Whis, Eve, and Frieza grumbled while they gave the Destroyer their attention. While at the same time, Frieza felt movement in his arms. He looks down and saw that his daughter was now awake. She was looking around at the new surroundings. He smiles down at her.
"Looks like someone is finally awake." He says.
Eve turns her attention to him and saw Leah woke up. She smiled and ran her hand over her daughter's forehead. The tiny infant's crimson gaze landed on her mother and gave her a cute toothless little smile.
"She woke up a little earlier than expected. Probably from all the talking." Eve inquired.
Her parents and brother turned their attention to the baby. She lightly kicked her little legs and moved her arms as if excited.
"She is beautiful, Sweetie. How old is she?" Her mom asks.
Eve turned back to them with a small smile.
"Leah's only three months old. She was born on January 2nd." She informed them.
"Wow, still practically a newborn." Drew said.
"Yeah, still a peanut." Eve said.
They all conversed more and as time went on, it appears that her family was becoming more comfortable around the others. Her mom eventually got up and went into the kitchen to start dinner. Eve went with her to help. While everyone stayed behind in the living room. She was grateful that her family was slowly accepting them. Especially, when she was scared that they freak out and quickly run for the phone to call the authorities.
Even after quite the story she told them they still didn't judge nor jump to conclusions. But then Eve always knew that Peter and Andrea Maggio always had big hearts and good heads on their shoulders. Something Drew got from them as well. To this day, she was grateful to be in the park that day while they sat by a nearby picnic table eating lunch. It was the day that changed her young life for the better. Because she found a family with them.
And now, she wants nothing more than to include them into her own little family. Something that will now be possible, thanks to Whis and Lord Beerus.
Until Next Time ;)
