I woke up from the worst sleep on the hard bed. I rolled out of it and shuffled into the living room avoiding and kicking some beer cans where I found no coffee but an old and dirty coffee maker. I opened the door and watched the sunrise as I lit a smoke.

It was pretty and I never wake up this early, must be something in the air like when you camp. Something moved through the large grass not far from me making me head inside and shut the door, who knows what is living out there.

I kicked around for a remote to the very large but very old t.v before I walked over and pressed the buttons. There was news, a weather channel, some fuzzy cartoon and a cooking channel. The rest was nothing but static.

No t.v, computer or coffee, I am apart from my normal world that is for sure.

Feeling so hungry I started to search for key's in the obvious places, the farther I looked the sadder I got that he lived like this. Sad I never got to know him, guilty that I should have come by when we got the deed in the first place. My mom hated this place and when it came was so angry he was pushing this farm on her again.

Thinking of her I pulled my phone from my pocket and called her up again.

She yelled at me for not calling and I let her, not bringing up I did and she did not answer but she let it go and just chatted my ear off.

Mothers.

After trying to end the call four times I finally was able to hang up.

Making my phone as loud as I could I tossed on some music and just started to clean. Opened every window and the door to air it out. First thing was to toss the blankets and pillows in the wash. There was a big open box of laundry powder, I tend to use the liquid kind so I was unsure how much to use so I threw a ton into it.

I started to toss all broken items on the porch and grabbed garbage bags I was glad to see were still here. I ended up pulling gross clothes from under the bed using as little physical space to touch them when there was jingle in some brown pants.

I pulled out a key chain with ten key's. Unsure what they all were for I hope the one that looked like a car key was in fact the trucks. Tossing out another garbage bag outside I got a better look at the broken table in the sun, it was a nice circle shaped stained wood with streaks of purple.

I wonder If I can fix that?

Looking It was heled up by one large circle stand, thinking of trying to fix it I wondered back inside and got back to cleaning.

"Good morning CC." I jumped and spun towards Lewis who was standing in my door. I held back my annoyance at the name before I smiled at him, standing next to him was a middle age women with golden red hair followed him as he carried a small box.

"This is Robin." She gave me a smile. "She is good with a hammer and figured you two should meet." I smiled back. "I also brought you some grocery's as I figured you would need some." He said as he looked around and placed it on the floor.

That startled me, who brings strangers food?

"Thanks." I stammered as I looked at robin who just looked around at everything getting right at it. "No one has ever brought me food before." I smiled at him. "Other then my mom." I joked. "And a pizza man." I looked at robin who was fiddling with the bathroom door.

She told me she can help, not for free naturally.

She looked me over with a small calm smile. "You remind me of my son, all in black and what not." I just gave a fake smile and the air got quiet, she was moving around the semi broken kitchen cupboards, I just felt so awkward. I am a very cheep person, if I can do it for free I will.

"Well thank you I am sure I will be needing your help." I said filling the silence and kind of wished they would leave.

"Well I live up the mountains." Robin started. "It is a bit out of the way."

"Can I get your number just in case?" I pulled out my cell phone.

"Oh fancy." Lewis spoke, it is actually not but I did not need to say that and make him feel bad so I just gave a small fake smile.

She started listing her number as I put it in. "Call during office hours or I wont get it." I nodded half listening.

They did not stay long after that and I checked out the box. It was filled with oatmeal, a small apple pie and some beans? Good for starving, sucks for me. That was so kind feeling bad for insulting such a nice gift. So I grabbed a clean knife and cut myself some pie, eating it without a plate. Man it was fresh and tasty, whoever made it is a wizard so I cut a few more.

I Stuck the key's in the truck and it roared up like the beast it was before I turned it off with a smile. I have a vehicle, I will head to town in a little while to get food and have Lewis see me so soon made me feel guilty. I grabbed the toolbox from beside me and headed back.

I was getting dirt on my black jeans as I leaned in it trying to fix the table. After a clothing change into some shorts I got back to it. Hammering in some nails I stared, it did not look pretty as I flipped it over, but at least it is unseen. Shaking it it was slightly wobbly but it works so I dragged it back inside placing it where I took it from.

Peirre's general store really was general, it had many things from essentials to a small rack of ugly clothes. I strolled the isles with my small red basket avoiding eye contact as many people were looking at me.

The door swung open and made a loud noise startling me, in watched some heavy set guy in a suit walking in like he owned the place and we are all beneath him. He pulled something from his pocket. "50% off all of Jojamart." He waved it around. "Anyone want one."

The other three people who were in here went up to him.

I know of Jojamart, I have been in one only a handful of times, it was big and has a decent price on bulk items but the people who walk those isles are the kind you don't want to know. I once saw a man without pants, his soggy dirty underwear, I never got that image out of my head.

I still stepped forward to take one, they have more food in there then this place does. I could see the clerks face drop in sadness from the side but I did not look his way as I took one.

"Where is it?" He looked at me like I was crazy.

"Well stranger." He looked me over with a creepy eye, I suddenly hate this guy, every creep sense in me was ringing. "It is the only decent looking store, across the river my dear" He looked away and yelled. "Come all." One person put their basket on the ground and walked off as I brought my stuff to the counter.

"Pierre I take it?" I smiled as he nodded. "He was horrible huh?"

He smiled as he started to check off my items. "Thank you for shopping here, can I ask who are you?"

"I am Cy, I am cleaning up my grandpa's farm."

He seemed startled for a second as he looked me over before he smiled at me and pointed at a large wall of plants and seeds. "This place is great for farming, I have so many for each season, a good farmer would love these."

I just smiled and paid before I left.

I walked out and decided to explore with my small bag of food and I just headed south.

I stayed along well made stone walkway where there was some homes. Looking down the road was a cute blonde man trying to do something with a skateboard in front of a house. I watched him from a far bringing me into my past. I love skaters as in my high school day's that was what my friends and I were, I have not really seen one in a few years.

He wore faded clothes but pristine shoes telling me a lot about him.

I just stared trying to place what trick he was trying to do when I heard a small noise startling me, I looked behind me as the ghost of a man in full black stood, his dark hair was longer on one side with an earing in his only visible ear. His blank face was looking at me but the sun from behind me made him squint. "To much sun." His monotone voice was strangely nice, I was unsure how long he was behind me for.

He caught my attention as well as he headed to the blonde, when he looked up at him with a smile I turned away slightly ashamed as he may tell him I was staring.

I strolled crossing an old bridge and found myself on a large beach. I walked forward annoyed at my shoes in sand, a few small boats and a large dock sat in the never ending water.

It feels like a vacation being here.

Hmmm

This would be the perfect place for someone to pay to rent out a cabin for a vacation.

The more I thought of that, the more I liked the idea.

If I can't find a real farmer maybe that is what I will do.

I turned around.

I strolled and ended up running into Lewis near the bar making me wave at him. I asked if there was a clothing store around here, the clothes I brought are to nice to get this dirty but I guess it was about an hour drive into a different town. I ran my hand in my hair slightly sad. "Come in and have a drink, they serve great food here." He looked towards the door. "Well, maybe not great but the only place to get cooked food here."

I was hungry so I nodded and followed him inside. "Sounds perfect."

The door was heavy as I followed him in, music from a jukebox filled my ears and the area had happy chatter. I scanned the large bar, the bar it self was long and big, many booths and tables spread around and some were occupied. To the right was a large parted room with a pool table and some arcade games.

I turned to speak to Lewis but he was gone, looking over he was talking to some older red haired lady near the far corner, I scanned her face and her ugly sweater making me smile, reminding me of the kind people wear at Christmas. I moved to the nearest stool and sat down putting my bag on the stool beside me. "Well you are new." This older bartender stood in front of me. "What can I get you CC?" I looked around confused at how he knows my hated name, Lewis? I shot a look his way.

"Call me Cy." I fake smiled back trying to be friendly while looking around and almost everyone was drinking a beer. "I guess I will take a beer, whatever is the best." Came out before I thought, he nodded and moved to get me one so fast it was to late. I looked at the menu while glancing at my drink. "Can I get a pizza?" I asked as it was all that looked good, he nodded and moved away.

I was kind of excited to be in here.

I just stared at my drink, what is one beer? It is beer not vodka. I should not have but I took a sip, the taste was wonderful and man I missed it, whatever beer this is was amazing.

My focus was pulled to that short haired blonde lady at the far end of the bar, she was just talking loudly to anyone who would listen as I sipped on the beer, I scanned all the faces a few looked my way back making me turn away.

The door opened behind me with some loud voices, I got a glance as they walked passed me to the pool area, it was the blonde and black haired guy's from earlier and a short girl with purple hair. My eye's traveled from them to the man sitting in the right corner of the bar, his clothes were slightly wrinkled, his face unshaven, his hair was buzzed on the sides of his head as the rest sat on top unbrushed.

Something made me stare, maybe the way he stared sadly at his beer or the fact he was a cute mess I just could not look away but he never noticed me, he never even looked up. The bartender even brought him a new beer and he just started to drink it without moving. I only looked away when the chair next to me was pulled out, looking over Robin sat down.

"Hey there Cy." I smiled. Finally someone did not call me CC. "His name is Shane." She spoke quietly. "He came here around a year ago to stay with Marnie." She pointed at the redhead with Lewis. "He does not talk to people." I nodded my eye's landing on him again.

"That is my son Sabastian and his friends, Sam and Abigail." She pointed to the people at the pool table, ah the all black she mentioned, should have guessed.

She started to tell me the names of everyone in the bar. "I bet they would love to talk to you but you don't look very welcoming."

"I don't?" I looked at her startled.

Robin laughed. "No you got 'stay away' stamped on your forehead."

That made me really laugh. "Well, I need to change that then." My small pizza was placed in front of me and I smiled kindly at the bartender.

She leaned in. "Gus." I looked at him walk away.

I tried to take in the name's as well as I could.
