Opening the front door with a coffee in my hand, my cat ran passed my legs into the forest like she does every morning. There was a light rain today so I sat in the chair just admiring it.
I need to find a way to make money out here as I stared at my plants that don't need water today.
I can make candles with ease, maybe I will try that.
Knowing Robin will not come in the rain I had a fast shower and headed into town to Joja mart, wondering if it has what I need.
By the time I pulled into Jojamart the rain had turned into a storm. I walked fast into the place, wrapping my arms around me as the air condition made me freeze in my soaked clothing. I strolled as I looked for cute things to make candles in.
I found some jars, some cute wooden bowls and some interesting cans.
"So here you are shopping in my store." I looked behind at the creep.
"What are you going to kick me out?" I looked at him blankly.
He gave a creepy smile. "Of coarse not." He had this light in his eye's, he was happy about this for some reason making me squint harder, I think he has an idea.
"I just don't feel like dealing with you right now, if you are not kicking me out I ask that you leave me alone." He just glared at me as I continued to do what I was doing.
It was just a staring battle before he walked off I saw him disappear down the isle where Sam's head popped up right after almost making me laugh at the image.
He came down the Isle quickly with a giant smile as he looked back for his boss a few times. "I heard all of that." He chuckled. "Ah to not work for that man I could say anything."
"I did not know you work here?" I spoke with joy. "You look good in your little outfit."
"Only part time." He paused at my cart and looked inside. "It sucks but it is the only job in this small town."
"So, worker, do you have any soy wax?"
"I don't know what that is." He spoke and looked around.
"How about some Essential oil?" That one clicked.
"Yes, my mother loves them in her defuser thing, that I do know." He paused. "Unsure where it is." I smiled at his cuteness. "I think it is this way."
"Thanks."
We passed Shane. He just ignored me like always and went back to stacking a shelf as Sam picked up a small ball from a pit we passed and just tossed it in the air and caught it making me smile.
It had all I needed with luck but that is these places. I grabbed only three oils that I sniffed to make three different kinds of smells, if they do well I can always get more and headed home.
I spent the day making candles, the whole place smelled but it smelled nice until I mixed a fruity smell with a woodsy one.
I talked to Pierre before he closed and he was glad to put them in his store and see if they sell for only a very small commission.
It was the last day of spring and I finally finished the barn.
I wiped sweat off my brow as I brought in the two boxes of keep and the motorcycle back inside. I was proud as I looked around the large place, I did it all on my own and this place was packed.
I could fit a few cows in here now.
I showered, fixed my hair up a little, slid on a bathing suit with a loose black summer dress. The beach water may still be to cold but the air and sun were hot, a good day to finally spend at the beach.
I slid off my sandals as I walked through to soft and warm sand. There was a small fire pit making me want to have a bonfire here before I leave, that would be so cool.
I sat down my towel and just relaxed, enjoying the view.
I watched a scruffy older man in red fishing next to a small building set on the dock. There was also a small fishing cabin behind me to the side of the beach.
Is this where those two men lived Shane warned me about? The cabin's door opened while I was staring at it and I was caught as this man looked back at me. We kind of just stared at each other for what felt like ages.
He was the most beautiful man I have ever seen, I watched him pick up a shell and walk towards me, my eye's not leaving him as he smiled at me. His long red hair looked soft and nice, almost perfect.
He was so pretty, like the sexy men on the covers of naughty books. I almost expected him to rip open his shirt while the wind blew his hair around.
I was thrown as he walked over and I just stared when he tossed the shell down at me making me catch it and break my trance. "Hi." I said wistfully as I looked at it. "Oh it is nice." I was a little confused.
He looked out towards the water. "I'm Elliott... It's a pleasure to meet you, assuming you are the new farmer." He looked down at me like he sparkled in the sun.
Ah Elliott, you damn fine specimen.
"That cabin is small." I spoke still a little lost in his beauty.
"I am just writing a novel and I needed to get away from people that said I wont make it as one." He looked determined "What better place then out here in this wonderful area, so serene."
I looked at him interested. "Cool, what kind of book?"
"I am not sure yet, mystery, Romance or Sci-fi, what one do you like better?"
I thought about it. "They are all okay."
"Thanks that is not helpful."
"I love comedy but you don't need a strange girl to tell you what to write."
He gave me a look. "Your right." He looked out again. "You ever been in the forest, the most beautiful place I have ever been, Well time for my inspiration walk, good to meet you.." He looked at me confused.
"Cy." He smiled and walked off.
"It was nice to meet you, Cy." He said with a nice tone making me smile.
Man that man, wow, being almost at a loss for words does not happen often.
I sat there for a few minutes just looking at the shell before I put it down and walked to the water, getting in ankle deep it was still cold making me cringe. I heard giggles behind me making me turn to see Emily and that girl Haley, I watched them lay down some towels. Emily gave me a wave and I waved back making Haley give me some kind of bitchy look I did not care about.
I don't think I did anything to her but oh well.
"Cy." Emily called out. "Come join us."
Haley looked pissed but the girl was not fazed making me smile, I grabbed my stuff and walked over.
"This is my sister Haley." I smiled at them both as the blonde took a seat and took off her top, a bathing suit below she did not look at me but gave a small noise.
"I am so glad it is so nice, a tan would just be wonderful." She spoke to me strangely. I took a seat next to them needing the sun as I was now feeling cold.
"Ya it is a wonderful day." I spoke back, kind of glad she was being friendly and Emily sat between us.
"The only thing I like about this town is the beach." She said as she lied down putting on sunglasses.
"Ah this place is great." Emily spoke to her sister with a laugh.
"This town is so small. It sucks. I have to drive, like, twenty miles to buy any decent clothes. That's why I usually just order online." I chuckled. "What?"
"Ah I just feel you." I spoke up as I laid down completely.
"It is Emily's birthday tomorrow." She spoke up rudely making me sit up and look at the blue haired girl.
"Oh happy birthday, you doing anything?"
"Nope, like every year." Haley spoke back like her sister was a freak.
I did not know what to do for her.
It was around one when a dark cloud started to come towards us, the light rain started slowly but it began to pour in no time making the blonde scream, grab her things and run. Emily gathered her stuff quickly as well but she was laughing.
"Haley." She yelled as the blonde was almost out of sight. "Bye Cy." She giggled and ran off, I stuffed my towel in the bag and stood there getting soaked and slightly cold as I made my way off the beach. Using the passing river I got the sand off my feet and slid on my flip flops, heading to the bar.
I was sipping my drink, wishing the bar's menu was bigger. "Gus." He looked my way. "Do you make anything else?"
"Like what?"
"A burger or like a taco?"
He gave me a look. "I have no idea why that is not even on the menu, good idea." I just stared at him, had he not heard they are probably the most ordered food, definitely the most ordered drunk food. "I think I will add them." I smiled a little startled.
"Pizza please then." He nodded wiping off a glass.
"Give me a moment as I am packed." He joked to me, I was the only person in here, even Pam was not here yet. I just sipped my drink when I heard the door open without looking back. The pretty man sat a few chairs down he waited for Gus to take his order but it did not take long.
"Hi again." I spoke with a smile.
"Hello." He tapped the bar but looked at my drink with curiosity.
"How is your hair perfect and dry?" I asked with a smile.
"An umbrella, how is yours so wet?" He smiled.
"No umbrella."
"Well you should invest in one." He smiled as Gus came around and got him a drink. "I'll admit... it takes me several hours each morning to make my hair look this good."
"Well it is really nice."
"I know." He gave a cocky smile.
"How long have you been here?" I asked as he took a seat closer to me.
"Almost a year I think." I nodded. "I know, I still have not started my novel, can't seem to find the inspiration to begin writing it...I have wrote a lot but nothing is perfect, you know?" He sipped his vodka and soda.
"Living on the beach has got to be nice?"
"It is an amazing view, but you probably wouldn't like it inside my cabin. It's dark and full of spiders."
"I don't mind spiders." I sipped as he looked at me. "Mice however." I spoke blankly.
"Well I don't have mice, you might out there on a farm."
I looked at him startled. "You know I have not seen one."
"Maybe they are just considerate mice."
I made disturbed face at him. "Thanks for that."
"Get a cat."
"I have a cat."
"That must be why."
I smiled, true, glad I have a cat.
The door slammed again, I saw pam head to her spot down at the other end of the bar. "It is raining cat's and dog's out there." She spoke loudly. "The banging on my trailer is loud and annoying." She spoke to everyone when she talked. "Sadly I had to put pot's under some leaks, You know I need a beer." She smacked the bar as he moved to make her one.
She looked at me. "You are wetter then a than a cucumber in a women's prison." She shook her head at me I lightly chuckled startled. Elliott looked offended before looking at me like I was messed up making me laugh harder, I watched his smile slowly grow.
The two of us moved to a table as he showed me a game they used to play back in his city, I would hold my fingers up like a gridball goal and he would flick a coin trying to get it in. I was horrible at it but it was fun.
I had a second drink so I was in that kind of more outgoing mood but that was it, pop from now on if I am staying here. Many people have arrived but I was having fun with this guy, even if mostly all he talked about was about writing his book.
We talked about many plots for different genres, it was nice.
Emily showed up, dry and dressed nice, not long after Clint stumbled in looking awkward. I looked back at the coin. I finally got one in making me make a 'woo' noise.
"Well look who is learning." He spoke as he moved his head making his hair get out of his face before it was his turn, he flicked it and it went through but it landed flat on my forehead and fell off. "Ow." I spoke even if it only hurt a little but it made us both share a laugh as Shane walked in, soaked to the bone.
It was easy with this guy, he was very down to earth and very charming. My drink was finally done when I stood up to grab a pop from the vending machine. I almost ran into Clint when he stepped backwards in my path. He then moved the way I was headed like I was following him.
"Whoa man." I said he looked at me then at Emily who had just came from the back making me shake my head with a smile.
"I was going to ask her out but I got scared when I saw her." I stuck in money and pressed button as I looked at her smile at Elliott before getting him a drink. "I am just going to leave." He spoke sadly.
"Wait." I pulled out my drink. "If you don't ask her out, I will..." He looked at me. "Not do something."
"Like what?"
"Get your services for a sword I want."
He looked at me. "Well that is not much of a threat but alright." He looked her way serious before her head turned towards us and he spun to me with fear all over his face.
"Hey Emily!" I called out making him look at me like 'no what are you doing' she looked over. "Excuse me but I need your help." She headed to the end of the bar and came my way as he has his eye's closed saying. "No, no." Making me feel kind of bad.
"What's up Cy?"
I lightly spilled my drink on the floor. "Oh dear, one second let me clean that up, would you talk to Clint for a moment?" I asked as I walked towards the nearest hallway leaning on the wall I just listened.
"Oh hey Clint" she spoke awkwardly.
It was silent, come on Clint.
"I was wondering if you'd go w... with... tomorrow, me..." He paused and cleared his throat. "I've got two tickets for the Grampleton Carnival tomorrow. Would you go with me?" Good, the stutter is not sexy.
A short second that felt to long even for me. "I would love to, that sounds like fun." Biggest smile crossed my face.
"Really? awesome I will pick you up tomorrow."
They were both smiling as I walked back. "Oh sorry Emily, I forgot what I needed." She was so cute and she seemed happy.
"That is alright." Her smile not leaving her face as she headed back to the bar as Clint watched her with so much joy on his face.
"She said yes." He said quietly before looking at me. "Thanks."
I just patted his shoulder before I headed back to Elliott, glancing at Shane who glanced back before staring at his beer again.
