I paid Pierre for some items and he handed over a large box. "For Marnie." I nodded and grabbed it, it was light but awkwardly big as I made my way to my truck. I turned up the music and headed over, opening a chocolate bar and slowly chewing it.

I walked in, looking around she was not here but there was her car and Lewis's were out front so I leaned and waited when her bedroom from behind the desk opened and Lewis came out buttoning his pants, he froze and stared at me with so much fear.

"I was just" I nodded with no smile, Marnie was behind him and froze too. "I was just.." he said again as he pointed, failing to find an excuse.

I just nodded again. "I wont tell anyone." I said blankly, they shared a look. "I have this." I spoke as she came closer and Lewis left awkwardly.

She looked inside before sliding it to me. "Ah this is for the chickens, ordering online takes so long out here."

She placed it in my hands and I was lost. "What you don't want it?"

"I got them for Shane and the chickens, only thing he really does around here. We can take it to him." She waved me to follow so I did.

"He is here?"

"Jojamart is closed today." I followed her to his room.

"Shane." She spoke as she opened the door. "Oh dear." I walked in and saw him passed out on the floor beer cans everywhere, I stared in sadness but he was breathing, very loudly.

"Do something." She said to me.

"What can I do?" She just stared at me obviously lost. I put down the box and walked over, kneeling I touched the side of his face and lightly rubbed it. "Shane." I said softly.

"Urgg." He made a noise.

"Wake up." I said louder he slightly moved around but was still out.

Rubbing his hair again but It did nothing. With nothing else to do I slapped him, hard. "Wake up Shane!"

"What the fuck!" He said as he grabbed his face and rolled around on the ground before he looked up at us and got on his hands and knees, trying to stand up but was having issues.

"Shane all you do is mope and drink, what is wrong with you?" Marnie yelled.

"You wouldn't understand." His voice was slurring.

"But I'm worried." I just watched them talk awkwardly unsure what to do. "Why don't you think about your future, where is your plans?"

"Plan." He darkly laughed, it was so angry I felt it in my gut with worry. "I don't plan to be around long enough for a plan." The little girl walked in at that moment but heard him and ran away crying making Marnie chase her.

I stared at him, is that what I think it means?

"Jas." He spoke with a whine. "Jas im sorry." He fell onto his ass and held his head in his hands.

I was unsure what to do but I can't just leave right now as I stared at him. "Leave." He spoke with a sad anger making me just sit down next to him after a moment. "Just go." He was almost sniffling but I did not move or speak.

He was filling with panic, what happened to this man?

I know touching someone in a panic is not the best idea so I did not move.

He stood up a little shaky. "Urg." In anger as he kicked a soccer ball but it came back and hit me in the head he just looked at me with so much sadness "I.."

"I am fine." I smiled and stood up.

He just turned and leaned on the wall, his fists shut as he pressed them next to his head, I moved forward, if he reacts bad that is alright I slowly wrapped my arms around his waist and pressed into him, when he did not move or tell me to stop I held on tighter.

We just stayed like that, in silence not moving as I felt him breath slower and slower.

I just want to make this man smile before I leave, a strong urge to help him.

He then moved out of my embrace, he walked out of the room at a quick pace, I paused and followed as the bathroom door shut and I heard him throw up.

I slid down the wall and waited, I heard a few more sniffles and a few more yaks before he walked out.

"Your still here?" I nodded

"Feel better?" I asked, his skin was pale, he looked sick and weak.

He closed his eye's. "A little, what did you want to show me?"

"It is kind of physical so maybe come a time you can be physical."

He stared at me, for a long time. "That is not what it sound like is it?"

I just laughed, ya that sounded wrong. "No, it is just something that may help you feel better."

"Again, your words are too vague and leaves to much for the imagination."

I started to really laugh. "Ya, they do, but If I hint you probably wont come."

"Then I wont come." I just looked at him when I noticed a flash of red, I looked down the hallway and Marnie was watching us peering behind the wall before her eye's grew and she vanished. "I need to get to the chickens."

"Right, there is something for chickens in the box in your room." I feel I should leave now anyway. "See you later."

After a short chat with my mother, watering some plants I wondered and leaned on the wall outside Pierre's shop. Looking around I stuck something to the wall.

Help wanted: I need small binoculars and a black hat that covers the face for... reasons.

Abigail came out of the shop and almost ran to my truck excited, I followed at a normal pace making her sigh at me. "Come on!" she yelled hopping into the passengers side. We were going to a neighboring place for some floaties as I talked them into floating down the river with me. Something on my list as the river in the city was to low.

Her and Sabastian both reluctantly agreed as you know, sun, but she was just excited to get out of town.

I also invited Shane just to try and reach out but he told me to fuck off unsurprising.

We had a great long ride, laughing a lot. She was feeling like a friend and it was nice. We came to a small but adorable town that had normal roads and we parked outside the store.

"Oh, let's get ice-cream." Abigail yelled as she pointed to small cute shoppe a few places down.

I found some cheep doughnuts, I grabbed four for us.

Abigail was checking out this black sexy one piece bathing suit. "I never get to come here." She spoke up happy. "This is so nice." She was staring it it.

"Try it on." I spoke up with a smile, she almost blushed and looked at me like I was crazy. "Its just me, try it on." I smiled as I looked through what they had here. I found a cute colorful bikini top and some black boy short bottoms. I moved to try them on leaving my undies on. I looked at my ass and it looked good in them.

She peeked out the dressing room before walking out her arms crossed over her waist nervous. She breathed and dropped her arms. "Damn." I said as it was cut in strategic places that looked so good on her. She started to spin admiring herself looking like she loved it as well.

We looked around for a bit and just before we left she gave in and bought it and we headed back home.

We started up near Sabastian's to float down to the beach. We sat around in the grass just blowing them up but every time Abi would look away I saw both of them checking her out in her new bathing suit making me smile.

It was adorable.

I waded in trying to get on mine but fell completely in before I got on. With attached strings we all started to float down the river, making sure we stay together.

"I have never done this before." Sam spoke up.

"It is so bright." Sabastian spoke not like he was that interested in this but enough to come with us.

It was a nice slow as we moved and lightly talked, I enjoyed the sun as some water splashed on me.

"You ever go to the beach at night?" Sam asked.

"Not yet no." I spoke up.

"Abigail say's she see's lights at night." He spoke as he looked at her.

"It may have been a dream." She yelled back. "I have to sneak out to go there, I am freaking to old to be controlled by my parents." I pulled on her rope close to me with a smile. "You know, how cool is it that you don't have parent's out here, you can do anything you want, whenever you want to do it."

"I suppose that is true, I live with my mom in the city." She looked up at me. "But I normally can do what I want, the only real difference without living with someone is can walk around naked whenever and wherever I want to." She gasped. "That is freedom." I said wistfully.

"Oh that does sound nice." Sam spoke as he looked up at the clear sky before he looked away as the sun was to bright. "Just be naked in the living room." Sabastian made a noise. "Imagine just playing guitar naked."

"You can do that anyway, it is in your room." Abigail spoke.

"Your right." He smiled.

"Please not when I am there." Sabastian said.

We passed Haley and Emily who were standing near the river, Sam and I yelled at them and they waved back at us. I did notice Abigail looked away with a small annoyed noise as we slowly floated away.

We made it to the bridge by the beach, pulled them to the beach and just floated in the water. It was not long until the two that seem to hate the sun left, I hung around with Sam for a little longer, guy is so funny.

He left making me drag four inflated floaties to my truck alone.

I dropped two and when I bent over to pick them up when I got a whistle, I looked at Alex who was walking away giving me a wave. A little sad he did not help me pick them up as the wind slightly took one a few feet away. It was annoying but I got them into the back of my truck.

I grabbed my black dress, tossing it over me I headed into the bar. I ordered some food and let Emily make me a random drink. "That seemed fun." She smiled at me making me nod.

"The water was great." I asked for a burger and she moved on so I stood up and grabbed a bag of chips at the vending machine near the pool table. So hungry from a day in the sun, I could also sleep well and soon.

I slowly ate when Shane walked in not looking up, I watched him as he took his seat before looking back to my food. After I was done I crumpled up my chip bag and tossed it towards the garbage bin behind the bar. We both watched it go in.

"Hey." I finally spoke to him as he looked at me, he did not look away. "Long day?"

He just looked at his beer but gave a small nod, I finished off my fries and slid the empty plate away from me ready to leave. "No one talks to me." He spoke, he seemed so sad tonight. "Sorry for being rude, it takes me a while to warm up with someone." Normally he is angry.

"What is something you always wanted to do?" I looked at him in wait, I saw him think but I don't think it was a good thought and then he looked over at me and his eye's moved around my face before back at the beer as he drank it.

I just looked at him sadly making him notice and glare at me, I just want to make him smile.

He was drinking so fast, I stood up sadly as he almost slammed his cup down. "I hope you stop by." I spoke softly and left for home.
