Me: Posting an additional chapter just to make it evident that this is, in fact, a multi-chapter fic.

Normal POV!

To say that Toshinori may have been biased in choosing his successor may just be the understatement of the century.

While it is true that his choice was influenced by the boy's heroic deed, as well as the qualities of a hero Toshinori saw in him that his mentor, Shimura Nana had seen in him, there also applies the wing factor in his decision.

Looking at the mess of students spread out on the field, Midoriya Izuku stands there with all attention on him, though more subtle in how everyone looks at him, there's just something about the boy that gathers everyone's eyes on him. If it were a guessing game, Toshinori would be correct to assume that it's because of the wings.

While new in being a part of U.A.'s faculty, he had been briefed on how the students are arranged in the hero course, and was told of how everyone was capable of seeing wings.

Nezu had spoken to him about his successor after he told the principal of his decision. How in all his time as a school principal, no student has ever displayed wings as big and as dark as the young boy had. And Toshinori did not oppose his employer's decision to make an exception to add Midoriya into the special class.

Nezu says it's merely for observation, but Toshinori thinks it's more than that.

See, in all of Toshinori's life, Nana was the only person he knew of who could see wings. Even Gran Torino, a friend of his predecessor, did not have the same ability as they do. In fact, Nana had told him that being able to do so is a rare talent, randomized by the universe that there is no saying who is qualified to have that ability.

Toshinori had been very lucky in his time in U.A. to find more people like him, especially after his mentor's passing.

Wings, from what Toshinori understood, are just invisible decorations on the human body that few are able to see. They do not help a person, nor do they give people the ability to soar. It passes through things, living or otherwise, and the colors have no particular significance to the person. He's seen people whose wings match their hair, and others who have neon colors despite having dull, black hair. Toshinori himself has dark, grey wings, a somewhat somber color in contrast to his colorful hero costume and golden blond hair.

Looking closer, however, reveals a variety of blue and red linings on his wings. But just line the colors of the feathers, these have no connection to his person. His wings span an impressive thirteen feet, unchanged between his two forms, and a great deal bigger than Aizawa's, whose wings were a hickory colored seven feet with light yellow linings.

In the end, the size and color of wings has nothing to do with the person who has them, as far as Toshinori knows. And Nezu, upon implementing this organization of students, had only said that it is to help students adjust to their ability and let them know that they are not alone with their gifts.

His first day in a hero school, and already Toshinori realizes that his successor is as troublesome as he appears.
