Narrator: The city of Townsville… It is spring in Townsville as we look in on the home of the Powerpuff
Girls and their father, Professor Utonium.
They are helping him in his lab with spring cleaning. Buttercup and Bubbles sweep and dust while Blossom organizes his bookshelves. The Professor straightens up his workbenches as he hums a tune to himself.
Bubbles said "What do you want to do with this box of jars, Professor?"
Professor said "Just put them in the storeroom by the sink. I'll clean them and reuse them later."
Blossom said "Professor, some of these journals are out of order. Do you arrange them by date or by project name?"
He goes over to the bookcase where Blossom is.
Buttercup moves several pieces of equipment from a table in order to dust it. A particularly large machine proves ungainly and Buttercup almost drops it. Regaining her balance she grips the machine tighter and inadvertently pushes a button on it's side. The machine comes to life startling Buttercup causing her to fall backwards into a old padded easy chair with the machine landing on top of her. Before she can cry out for help the machine bathes her in a red light and stinging energy flows over her body.
Buttercup - yelled "AAAAAHHHHH!"
The Professor and Blossom look over to see Buttercup trapped under the machine.
Professor said "Buttercup, oh no!"
Narrator; oh no indeed Professor"
They run over and the Professor shuts off the machine while lifting it off Buttercup, Blossom tries to pull her up by her arms but she falls back into the chair.
Blossom said "Buttercup are you all right?"
Buttercup said "Ooooh, I feel strange."
Professor said oh "My gosh Buttercup I hope this device didn't do to you what I think it did?"
Bubbles said "What does it do Professor?"
Professor said "It's an Antidote X Infuser. It will in fact remove Buttercup's super powers."
Buttercup said "What?"
She stands up in the chair and jumps off, she falls to the concrete floor of the lab with a thud.
Buttercup said "Owww!"
Professor said "Buttercup!"
She sits on the floor about to break into tears.
Buttercup said "I don't have anymore powers! Professor, do something!"
Professor said "Don't worry honey, the effects are temporary."
Buttercup said "For how long?"
Professor said "Well according to the readouts on the machine, about a month."
Narrator ; a Month but what about Townville?
Blossom said "A month!? Can't you give her a Chemical X booster shot to give her back her powers?"
Professor said "It's not that simple this time. The Infuser totally negates the effects of Chemical X by neutralizing it with Antidote X throughout her entire body. Buttercup will have to wait for it to work it's way out of her system."
Bubbles said "She will get her powers back in a month?"
Professor said "Yes, she will be fully back to her super hero self by then."
Blossom - said "Sorry, Buttercup, but it looks like you're grounded for a while. Think of it as a vacation."
She glares at them, then her face falls into a deep gloom. She slowly gets up and walks up the stairs.
Bubbles said "Buttercup?"
Buttercup said "Leave me alone."
Narrator ; oh dear this could be the end for our hero She goes up to her room, jumping on her bed she buries her face in her pillow. Her family watches from the door as they could see her shoulders tremble as she cries to herself. Closing the door the family leaves Buttercup to her misery.
Blossom said "I wish we could do something."
Bubbles said "She'll be so sad not being able to fight crime with us."
They both look at the Professor who has a look of determination on his face.
Professor said "I can do something about it!"
He turns and goes down to his lab. He closes the door and sounds of machinery and activity could be heard from within.
Bubbles said "What do you think he is going to do?"
Blossom said "I don't know but right now Buttercup needs our support." Bubbles"
The day goes by slowly as the girls try to cheer up Buttercup but she just stays in her room sulking. She passes on lunch wanting to be left alone in her melancholy. Around dinner time she gets very hungry and reluctantly accepts a sandwich her sisters brought up to her. They could not get her to talk and the Professor was still locked up in his lab. The girls go to bed that night missing the Professor's nightly habit of tucking them in. Buttercup just goes to sleep crying, her sisters feeling helpless at not being able to make her happy.
Narrator Comes the morning with a new dawn and hope. The Professor quietly walks into the room carrying a large box. Setting it down by the bed he pats Buttercup on the head to awaken her.
Professor said "Buttercup, wake up, I have a surprise for you. You too Blossom and Bubbles. You have to see this."
Buttercup said "Mmm, what, a surprise?"
Blossom yes "What is it Professor?"
Bubbles "Yawn, it is pancakes for breakfast?"
Professor said "Breakfast later. Right now I want to show Buttercup how she will be able to keep fighting crime until her super powers come back."
Buttercup jumping up) "Really, how?"
Professor said "Let's take off your night clothes first."
He removes her nightie so she is now in just her underwear. He opens the box and pulls out a black spandex body suit in her size.
Professor said "Now let's slip this on." She steps into the suit through the opening in the back. He helps smooth it over her body and closes the zipper.
Buttercup said "Whoa, it's snug and stretchy. But it feels hard too."
Professor said "It has several layers of Kevlar with titanium mesh to make it bullet proof."
Blossom said "Bullet proof?"
Buttercup said "Why do the hands and feet feel heavy?"
Professor - said "They are reinforced with steel to give you a hard punch and kick, the suit's wafer-thin cyber-servos increase your own natural strength and speed. Now this..."
He snaps a green belt with pouches around her waist.
Professor said "Is a utility belt with some weapons, gadgets, and stealth devices. And this hood completes the suit."
He pulls a hood over her head. The eye lenses glow with a red inner light.
Buttercup said "Whoa, everything looks weird."
Professor said "The lenses in the hood act like infra-red filters to enable you to see in the dark. Now bring your arms down by your side, feel those catches, give your arms a twist forward to hook onto them and spread them out away from your sides."
Narrator
When she does a wing membrane appears between her arms and body. Wing spars shoot out to make the wings wider. She looks in the full-length mirror on the wall across from her and sees a black figure with scary red eyes and bat-like wings.
Buttercup said "COOL! I look like Batman."
Professor said "With a jet pack strapped on to the back of the suit you'll be able to fly and glide long distances."
Buttercup turns and gives the Professor a big hug.
Buttercup said "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
Narrator No one can see through the hood at her tears of joy.
Professor said "I wanted my tough little angel to be happy doing what she does best. Fighting crime and kicking butt."
(The standard end shot comes up.)
Narrator And so for a month the people of Townsville saw the skies at night patrolled by a dark winged avenger alongside Blossom and Bubbles, the Powerpuff Girls. Fighting evil and making the streets safe, at least until bedtime. And so once again, the day is saved, thanks to the Powerpuff Girls!
