"The Little Girl Who Could"

Narrator the City of Townville where are the Kids are Playing outside all but A little girl sits on the swings in the playground of Pokey Oaks Kindergarten during recess. She is not enjoying herself or thinking happy thoughts like most of the kids around her are doing as they played. She looks across the playground at the Powerpuff Girls, her heart burns with a hatred for them. They are the cause of her unhappiness, for destroying her family. How she wanted so much to destroy them.

Her father had been caught running a stolen car parts ring by the Powerpuff Girls. He had been tried, found guilty, and is now spending several years in prison. Her mother had divorced her father because of this and now he was never home to greet her. She didn't care that her father did something wrong, all that mattered was that the man she adored was no longer in her life. And she blames the Powerpuff Girls. Those perfect little super heroes everyone loves. She wanted them dead.

Ms. Keane said "Marcie?"

The little girl comes out of her dark funk.

Marcie said "Uh yes, Ms. Keane?"

Ms. Keane said "Are you feeling all right. You've been so quiet lately."

Marcie said "I'm fine Ms. Keane, thank you."

Ms. Keane said "Just remember, if you ever need to talk I'm here for you."

Marcie said "Thank you Ms. Keane, I'll be okay."

Ms. Keane walks away looking back at the somber little girl.

Ms. Keane said "Poor child, to have her father go to prison and her parents divorce. It must be hard on her."

Narrator Marcie jumps off the swing and keeps looking at the Powerpuff Girls who are together and seem to be in a discussion among themselves.

said

Marcie - "I got to figure out a way to destroy them. To find out their weakness. And I think I know who to ask." She looks for Mary who is known to be a close friend of the Powerpuff Girls and finds the husky girl playing jacks.

Marcie said "Umm, Mary, can I ask you something?"

Mary said "Sure Marcie, what do you need to know?"

Marcie said "You know a lot about the Powerpuff Girls, don't you?"

Mary said "Sure do, I'm their biggest fan. I keep a scrapbook at home of all the articles I find in the newspaper and magazines about them. I got an autographed picture of them on my wall and..."

Marcie said "So you know if they have any weaknesses?"

Mary said "Yeah, they do, but not much. They're very powerful. You would have to have a super brain like to Mojo Jojo to come up with stuff to hurt them. Bullets, fire, and not even acid would do it."

Marcie said "I see."

Mary said "Do you want to hear about their special powers?"

Marcie - said "No thank you." She walks away disappointed leaving Mary befuddled.

Marcie said to herself) "There must be a way I can hurt them without needing special weapons or stuff. I'm just a kid." She nonchalantly walks over to the Powerpuff Girls and stands close to them, listening to their conversation hoping to discover something else she could use.

Blossom said "So what are you guys going to do?"

Buttercup said "Well I'm going to mow the lawn for him. He would appreciate that."

Blossom said "That sounds good Buttercup. I'm going to organize his science journals. What are you going to do for him Bubbles?"

Bubbles said "I'm going to bake the Professor his favorite cookies, oatmeal."

Buttercup said "You sure you can do it without messing them up?"

Bubbles said sticking her tongue out at her) "Yes I can miss meanie pants."

Buttercup said "Is there a special reason you want us to do this Blossom? It's not father's day or his birthday."

Blossom - said "Nothing special. We just want to show our father appreciation for what he has done for us once in a while."

Their father, yes, thought Marcie. Their father is the key to destroying the Powerpuff Girls. She can't wait to get home and plan something real bad. As bad as a little girl can think when she wants revenge.

as the school bell ring When school is over for the day Marcie walks back home. She follows the same route as the Powerpuff Girls since she lives just down the street from them. She stops near their home when she sees the girls greet the Professor at the front door.

Blossom said "Hey, Professor, where are you going?

Professor said "Just to get some supplies for my lab. I'll be back soon."

The girls wave goodbye as he drives off. Watching them from behind a hedge she hears the Powerpuff Girls make their plans.

Blossom said "Well let's get to it girls."

Bubbles said "This is fun making the Professor happy."

Buttercup said "That's what dads are for."

Marcie's vision goes red as she watches the girls go inside.

Marcie said "You'll won't have that kind of fun anymore when I'm done. Soon you'll be as unhappy as me."

Narrator When Marcie gets home she finds her mother on her hands and knees under the kitchen sink.

Marcie said "What are you doing Mommy?"

Mother said "Oh Marcie dear, you're home. I'm spreading some rat poison to kill a mouse that's been getting into the pantry."

Marcie said "Rat poison?"

Mother said "Yes, see this bottle? It has a very powerful poison. See the skull and crossbones on it? It is very bad for you so if you drink any of it, it will kill you. So don't ever play with this."

Marcie said "Yes, Mommy. Can you do me a favor?"

Mother said (getting up from her knees) "What do you need honey?"

Marcie - said "Can you bake me some oatmeal cookies, they're for a friend down the street."

Mother - said "Oh, it's so good you're making friends again. I was getting worried when you seemed so down since I divorced your father, I was afraid..."

Marcie said "It's okay Mommy, I don't blame you."

Mother said "Good then, I'll start those cookies right away."

Marcie said (to herself) "I don't blame you Mommy because I know who to really blame."

Narrator oh boy this Little girl is worst then Princesses" About an hour later the Professor returns home after doing his shopping at the Scientist Outlet Shopping Center. As he gets out of the car with a bag of new test tubes and beakers he notices Buttercup raking a freshly mowed yard.

Professor said "Buttercup, did you do all this?"

Buttercup said "Yep, I did it for you."

Professor said "Oh, that is so sweet of you."

Buttercup said "I'm sorry I banged up some of the hedges, that mower is hard to turn."

Professor said (patting her on the head) "That's quite all right, I'll fix them later with the clippers. You go and wash those grass stains off."

Buttercup said going up and giving him a peck on the cheek) "Okay Daddy."

Narrator As she zooms into the house he sighs. He goes down into his lab with his new supplies and sees Blossom at his bookcase.

Professor said "Blossom, what are you doing dear?"

Blossom said "I'm organizing your journals. Look at what I have done. I marked on the spines with color markers. I used a different color for each year. So that way you can tell at a glance what year the journal belongs with."

Professor said "That is so clever of you Blossom, I would never have thought of that."

Blossom said "I did it so show you my appreciation for what you have done for me and my sisters."

Professor said (giving her a hug) "Thank you sweetheart."

Blossom said "Now you go upstairs and rest Daddy, I'll put away the stuff you just bought."

Narrator The Professor walks over to the kitchen thinking he is very lucky to have such good little girls. He finds Bubbles in front of the stove looking sad.

Professor said "Bubbles, what are you doing?" She flies into his arms crying.

Bubbles said "Oh Professor, I'm sorry."

Professor said "What's the matter?" Sniffing she places a tray of burnt cookies on the table.

Professor said "Ah, you made brownies."

Bubbles - said "They're supposed to be your favorite oatmeal cookies, waaahhh!"

Professor said "Honey, don't cry. They're fine just like they are."

Bubbles said "Sniff, honest?"

Professor said "In fact I promise I'll enjoy these cookies as well as the best ones ever made."

Bubbles said "Really? You don't care if they are burned?"

Professor said "I don't care how they turned out as long as you made them with love."

Bubbles said giving him a hug) "Oh, thank you Daddy." Suddenly the hotline can be heard buzzing upstairs and then Buttercup was shouting from their bedroom.

Buttercup shout "Hey you guys, we got us a mission!"

Blossom zooms into the kitchen.

Blossom said "Come on Bubbles, let's go!"

Professor said "Go ahead Bubbles, I'll clean up here."

Bubbles said "Thank you Professor, and you really don't have to eat my cookies if you don't want to."

Narrator He watches from the back door as his girls fly off together to save the world again. Then he hears a knocking at the front door. He goes to answer it and finds a little girl standing there with a covered plate.

Professor said "Hello there young lady. I'm sorry but the girls are out on a mission and can't come out to play."

Marcie said "Oh, that's okay. You're their father, Professor Utonium?"

Professor said "Yes, I am. And you are?"

Marcie said oh me Sorry I m "Marcie, I live down the street. My Mommy made some cookies for you."

Professor said (taking the plate) "Well that's nice of her."

Marcie said "I'll come back later, thank you sir."

As he watches her leave he closes the door and goes back to the kitchen.

Professor said "What a nice little girl, I wonder what kind of cookies are these? Ah, my favorite, oatmeal."

He sets the plate of cookies down next to the burned ones. The cookies Marcie brought look perfect compared to the dark brown batch made by Bubbles. He looks at them both and sighs. He pours himself a glass of cold milk and begins to eat a cookie.

Narrator Outside Marcie has circled around the house until she is in the back yard and looking through the kitchen window from a distance. She sees the Professor eating cookies with milk.

Marcie said "Yes, yes, soon my revenge will be complete. I will have done what Mojo Jojo or any monster has never done. Destroyed the Powerpuff Girls. It was so easy to get them away from here by calling in that false report." Then she hears the voices of the Powerpuff Girls as they return.

Blossom said "That's really weird of the Mayor."

Buttercup said "Yeah, how can he say that he got a call that Mojo Jojo is causing trouble when that monkey is still in jail?"

Bubbles said "Maybe it was a crank call?"

Buttercup said "Hey, who's that in our back yard?" They land in front of Marcie.

Blossom said "I think I know you from school."

Bubbles said "I know you, you're Marcie."

Marcie said "You'll remember me well from now on. Everybody will remember me as the girl who did the one thing no one else could do. Destroy the Powerpuff Girls!"

Buttercup said "What you talking about girl?"

Blossom said "What's your problem?"

Marcie said "You destroyed my family, you put my father in jail."

Buttercup said "I remember now. Your dad was running the stolen car parts ring we broke up. He was punished for doing something bad."

Marcie said "It's all your fault he is in jail. You took my daddy away from me so now I'm going to take yours away from you." She points to the kitchen window where they can see the Professor drinking milk and eating cookies.

Marcie - said "I gave him some cookies soaked in rat poison. In a few seconds he will be dead!"

Narrator The girls look in stunned horror as they see the Professor swallow a cookie and drink a swig of milk. Then they see him drop out of sight!

The girls Shout "PROFESSOR!"

Narrator The Powerpuff Girls zoom toward the back door as Marcie runs off laughing.

Marcie said "I did it! I did it! I destroyed the Powerpuff Girls by taking away their daddy like they did to me. Ha ha ha ha ha!"

Narrator The Powerpuff Girls stand in the doorway of the kitchen and see the Professor on his hands and knees wiping up some spilled milk. They fly up to him and lift him off the floor.

The girls said "Professor! Are you all right? Do you feel okay? Don't worry we'll help you!"

Professor said "Oh, hello girls. Whoa, what's this all about?"

Blossom said "Aren't you feeling sick from eating those poisoned cookies?"

Professor said "What poisoned cookies?"

Bubbles said "Those!" She points to the plate of untouched cookies.

Buttercup said "Did you eat any of those cookies Marcie brought you?"

Professor said "Why no. I was eating the ones Bubbles made. I prefer cookies made with love even if they are overdone."

The girls said "Whew!"

Professor said "What do you mean Marcie's cookies are poisoned?"

Narrator Within an hour several police vehicles arrive at Marcie's home. Her mother is surprised to be met at the door by the police and the Professor.

Mother said "What is this about?"

Professor said holding up a plastic bag of cookies) "Madam, did you make these cookies?"

Mother said "Yes, I did, I made them for my daughter to take to her friends."

Professor said "Did you know that there is rat poison in them?"

Mother said "WHAT?! Oh my goodness NO!"

Officer - said "Where is your daughter now ma'am?"

Mother - said "She came back a while ago and is in her room." She leads the officers to Marcie's room where they find her curled up in a corner and muttering to herself.

Marcie said "Daddy. I want my Daddy. I want my Daddy. If I can't have my Daddy then the Powerpuff Girls can't have theirs."

The group of people watch as Marcie's mother picks her up and hugs her while the woman sobs.

Narrator Late That night as the Professor tucks his girls into bed.

Bubbles said "Professor, what will happen to Marcie?"

Professor said "She will go through a lot of therapy and counseling. She has to deal with the loss of her father and the break up of her family."

Buttercup said "I feel bad for her."

Professor said "You shouldn't feel guilty about it. It was her father's fault not yours. He chose to commit a crime and ignored what it would do to his family."

Blossom said "I never really gave it a thought about how what we do can negatively affect others not directly involved."

Professor said "Don't think about that way. Think of the hundreds of thousands of people you have saved, from crime and monsters. Think of all the little children who still have parents to love them because you saved them."

Bubbles said "Those kids are lucky, like we are, to have a daddy who loves us."

Professor said "I certainly do." He kisses each on the forehead and turns out the light as he leaves the room. He stands in the hallway thinking for a moment.

Professor said "Yes, I am so lucky." He goes to the bathroom and finds the anti-acid.

Professor said "I just hope I don't have to prove it too often by eating Bubbles' cooking. I've got the mother of all heartburn."

Narrator oh Professor" it great to have the girls to love" it isn't

(The standard end shot comes up.)

Narrator: So once again the day is saved, thanks to the Powerpuff Girls.
