Narrator the City of Townville

A busy murmur permeates the room as children busily work on their crayon drawings in Ms. Keane's class at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten. The Powerpuff Girls share a large table with Robin Schneider and Mike Believe as they all rub the waxy colors on their papers. Robin and Bubbles look at each other's pictures and giggle.

Mike looks at Blossom's and smile at what he sees. Buttercup has her tongue stuck out in grim determination as she vigorously colors her picture.

They are all very engrossed in coloring

when the hotline buzzes. Blossom jumps out of her chair to answer it.

Blossom said "Powerpuff Girl's Hotline! How may I serve you?"

Mayor said "Oh, uh, I'll have a chili dog with cheese..."

Blossom said "No, I'm sorry Mayor, I don't have that job anymore.* I mean, how can we help you?" (*"Not So Awesome Blossom")

Mayor said "Oh yes, Mojo Jojo has just robbed the Seventh National Bank!"

Blossom - said "The Seventh, what about the other six?"

Mayor said "They were closed for remodeling. Hurry, I think he's headed back to his lair!"

Blossom aid "Don't worry Mayor, we'll get the money back!"

Mayor said "Money? Oh no, he didn't take any money, just all the toasters."

Blossom said "Toasters?! Well, it's still wrong to steal so we'll pay him a visit and get the toasters back."

Mayor said "Good for you. Uh..."

Blossom said "What is it now, Mayor?"

Mayor said "Do I still get my chili dog?"

Blossom sighs as she puts the receiver down. She turns to her sisters who are gazing at her with incredulous looks.

Buttercup said "Toasters, huh?"

Bubbles said "Why would he want all those toasters?"

Buttercup said "Maybe he wants to toast bread, duh!"

Blossom said "No, Mojo does not steal something unless it's part of some bigger nefarious scheme."

Buttercup said "Oh great, I bet he's building a robot that'll give Townsville a crispy crust."

Blossom said "No time for this speculation, let's roll."

Bubbles said "You mean a toasted roll, hee hee hee."

Buttercup laugh "Har har har, that's a good one."

Robin - giggle "Hee hee hee!"

Even Mike found it hard to stifle a giggle under Blossom's glare.

Blossom said "Enough monkey business, we got a job to do."

Bubbles said "You mean Mojo is doing something dangerous like toasting bananas?"

Buttercup (holding her sides) laugh "Buwah ha ha ha ha ha!"

Robin breaks out in tears as she laughs out loud as well and Mike has to hide his face as he cracks a wide grin and slaps the table.

Blossom said "Let's go you clowns!" She flies out the window followed by a giggling Bubbles and a chuckling Buttercup.

Narrator Laught As the Powerpuff Girls fly in formation toward Mojo's lair, Blossom glowers at her sisters.

Blossom said "I take it we can be serious now?"

Buttercup said "Sure, Blossom."

Blossom said "Bubbles?"

Bubbles said "I'm sorry I just felt giggly there for a minute."

Blossom said "It's okay, we just got to stay focused. You never know what evil plan Mojo has."

Buttercup said "An evil plan involving a lot of toasters."

Bubbles (covering her mouth) said "Smirk!"

Blossom said "Knock it off!"

Buttercup said "Don't get your shorts in a bunch, I was being serious. She's the one with the feather up her wahzoo."

Bubbles said "I'm sorry, I'll be serious now."

Blossom said "It's about time, there's Mojo's lair."

Narrator The Powerpuff Girls swoop down on the volcano-top home of Mojo and crash through the wall.

Blossom said "Not so fast..."

Buttercup said "Mojo..."

Bubbles said "Jo, smirk, jo, smerk, jo, smeerk..."

Blossom said "Bubbles!"

Mojo Jojo said "At least it is a more interesting entrance than your usual one."

Buttercup said "Yeah well, Bubbles is having an uncontrollable giggle fit."

Blossom said "All right Mojo, what did you do with all those toasters?"

Mojo Jojo said "As if you needed to ask. I used them to make my most evil of plans to destroy you."

Bubbles giggle "You're going to toast bananas? Buwah ha ha ha ha ha!"

Mojo Jojo (annoyed) said "What IS her problem?"

Buttercup said "Too much sugar in her Lucky Captain Rabbit King cereal this morning. Whatever you got Mojo, bring it on!"

Mojo Jojo said "Thank you for the encouragement. Behold!" He points to a large machine behind him composed of toasters, microwaves and crock pots.

Mojo Jojo said "A machine that will finally destroy you once and for all. Do you want to know how it works?"

Blossom said "As long as it doesn't make Bubbles laugh."

Bubbles (covering her mouth) said "Smerk!"

Buttercup nudges her sister in the ribs.

Buttercup (under her breath) - said "Stay focused!"

Mojo Jojo said "With my genius I have figured out a way to extract your DNA with the use of infrared radiation. The same kind of radiation that can turn raisin bread into a tasty toasty part of your complete breakfast."

Buttercup said "What good will that do? I don't need to use my D-N-whatever you mean."

Blossom said "Buttercup! D-N-A! It is the basic building block of life. Without it we'll be just masses of helpless protoplasm!"

Buttercup said "Protoplas-what?"

Blossom said "Jelly!"

Bubbles giggle "Banana jelly! Buwah ha ha ha ha ha!"

Mojo Jojo said "I have had it with her mocking me. Take this!" He turns on his machine which sends out heat rays in all directions.

Blossom said "Scramble!" She grabs Bubbles' hand and pulls her out of the way just as a ray misses her. Buttercup makes a beeline for Mojo.

Buttercup said "Take this instead monkey face!" She swings her fists at him which he tries to duck. As they fall into a tangle on the floor one of the rays suddenly hits them both.

Mojo Jojo yelled "AAAAHHH!"

Buttercup yelled "YYYEEEOOOWWW!"

Blossom - said "Quick! We got to turn off the power!" Blossom tries to pound on the machine with her fists but Bubble simply unplugs it from the wall outlet. As the machine winds down Blossom rushes over to Buttercup and Mojo on the floor. They are both singed but seem alive.

Blossom said "Buttercup, are you okay?"

Buttercup said "Ooh, yeah, I had sunburns worst than this."

Mojo Jojo said "Moan, what happened?"

Bubbles said itS "Your machine did not work, silly monkey!"

Mojo Jojo Said "Oh well, back to the drawing board."

Blossom said "You mean back to jail for you!"

Narrator When the Powerpuff Girls return to school their friends are still coloring pictures. Ms. Keane smiles at them as they take their seats and quietly go back to their crayons. After a few minutes Mike begins to fidget, then he jerks up straight in his seat. He looks over at Robin next to him who is busily coloring.

Mike said "Stop it."

Robin said stop "What?"

Mike said "Stop tickling me."

Robin said um "I'm not tickling you."

Mike said "Yes you are...there! You did it again."

Robin said "How am I doing it? I got both my hands right here."

Mike said "But I can feel you touching my side..." He reaches down and grabs something, pulling it up. It looks like a long furry...

Mike said "SNAKE!" He drops it on the floor and steps on it.

Buttercup said "OWWW!"

Ms. Keane said "What is going on here?"

Mike said "Ms. Keane, there's a snake..."

Buttercup, next to him, jumps out of her seat.

Buttercup said "Hey, why did you kick my butt?"

Mike said "I was stepping on a snake. There it is, behind you?"

Everyone can see something wiggling behind Buttercup. Blossom reaches over and grabs it.

Blossom said "Hey, this looks like a..."

Buttercup said "OW! What are you doing?"

Blossom said "...TAIL! Buttercup, you got a tail growing out of your..."

Bubbles said "TUSHY!"

Buttercup said "Ah, you're all trying to pull a joke on me."

Blossom said "No, here, yank on this."

She hands Buttercup the tail who pulls on it. Buttercup gets a surprised expression on her face.

Buttercup said "Ouch! That's attached to ME!"

Bubbles said "Buttercup, you grew a tail."

Ms. Keane comes over and also tugs on the tail which seems to be sticking out from under Buttercup's dress.

Buttercup -said "Easy there."

Ms. Keane said "It is a part of you. You better go home so the Professor can check you out."

Buttercup said "Aw gee, I get to miss the afternoon nap."

Ms. Keane said "You might be coming down with something. Blossom, Bubbles, you better go with her."

Blossom said "Yes, Ms. Keane."

Bubbles said "I hope I don't grow a tail. It would clash with my dresses."

The whole class watch as Blossom and Bubbles escort Buttercup out the door. Her long furry tail wiggling behind her like it has a mind of its own.

Mitch said "Freaky!"

Narrator Buttercup a Tail" it couldn't be Down in the lab at the Utonium home, the Professor has Buttercup strip down to her underwear so he can examine her more closely.

She is laying on her stomach on a bed as he pulls gently on the furry tail and sees how it grows out of the base of her spine. Bubbles is sitting next to Buttercup holding her hand trying to comfort her. Blossom sits at the other end of the bed

Professor said "And you said this happened after you stopped Mojo Jojo and his DNA extracting ray?"

Blossom said "Yes, they were both hit by the ray as Buttercup wrestled with him."

Professor said "Hmm, fascinating."

Buttercup said "Well I'm glad I'm a source of entertainment for you but am I going to be okay?"

Professor said "Well you look normal except for the tail." Buttercup sits up and then starts running her hands through Bubbles' hair.

Bubbles giggle" "Hee hee hee, that tickles!"

Blossom said "What are you doing?"

Buttercup said "I don't know, I just have this urge to groom Bubbles. Do we have any bananas?"

Blossom said "Professor, what does this mean?"

Professor said will "It's possible Buttercup's and Mojo Jojo's DNA were scrambled together by his ray. She's showing characteristics of a monkey." They watch as Buttercup walks on all fours, wraps her tail around the bedpost and pulls herself up with it to hang over the bed and scratch herself.

Buttercup said "Ook ook ook!"

Bubbles-giggles "Hee hee hee, she's funny."

Blossom said "If Buttercup is acting like a monkey I wonder what Mojo Jojo is acting like?"

Narrator

At the Townsville Jail, the new tenant is surprising the jailers with his behavior.

Mojo Jojo said "No I don't want to take a bath! And take away these bananas, I want a steak!"

Narrator oh boy no Mojo jo is Acting like Buttercup' That evening, after an uneventful dinner except for the fact Buttercup eagerly ate more vegetables than usual, the family relaxes in the living room. Blossom sits by the Professor in his chair as he studies his notes.

Blossom said "Do you think you can get Buttercup back to normal?"

Professor said "Well so far her current condition has not caused any problems."

They both look up to see Buttercup hanging from the ceiling light fixture by her tail and swinging Bubbles around.

Bubbles said "Wheeee!"

Professor said "She seems to be acclimating to having the extra appendage. It may take me a few days but I think I can restore her DNA to what it was."

Blossom said "Well as long as it doesn't affect her crime fighting abilities."

Professor said "Let me do the worrying for both of us, sweetheart. You and your sisters get ready for bed."

Blossom said "Okay, Dad." She gives him a peck on the cheek and goes to herd her sisters upstairs. The Professor smiles as he watches them leave not giving any sign of the worry he has about Buttercup.

fade out

then fade into Early in the morning Bubbles sleepily turns over and nuzzles her face against her sister next to her. She sometimes likes the feel of Blossom's soft hair in her face. But this time the hair feels coarser than usual. Opening her eyes she sees nothing but black hair and remembers Buttercup is sleeping between her and Blossom.

Sitting up she looks at her sister and then gasps. Her gasp is loud enough to awaken Blossom who also sits up and looks at Buttercup.

Blossom said "OH MY GOSH!"

Buttercup opens her eyes and yawns. As she stretches her arms she sees they are all hairy. Sitting up in surprise she looks down at herself.

Buttercup said "ACK! What happened to me?" She zips over to the mirror and sees that she has hair all over her body except for an area around her eyes and mouth.

Buttercup said "I've gone APE!"

Bubbles said "You've turned into a monkey."

Buttercup said "I guess now I can really call Mojo Jojo DAD!"

Blossom said "Don't be silly!"

The Professor enters the bedroom.

Professor said "Good morning girls. How are you feeling Buttercu..." He stops in his tracks when he sees the hairy little Powerpuff Girl.

Professor said "GREAT EINSTEIN'S GHOST!"

Buttercup said "I guess I need to start shaving too, huh?" He kneels down and feels her hairy arms.

Professor said "It seems the simian DNA has fully assimilated itself into you."

Blossom said "What are we going to do, Professor?"

Professor said "I'm going to quickly work on a cure for Buttercup's condition and I hope I'll have it this afternoon. Until then just go on with the day like nothing has happened."

Bubbles said "You expect us to go to school with Cousin IT?"

Buttercup said "Shut your mouth or I'll clobber you with a coconut!"

Bubbles - said "Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong, hee hee hee!"

Blossom said "Knock it off, Bubbles! I'll have my hands full enough with Buttercup looking like she stepped out of an episode of Animal Planet."

Buttercup said "Hey!"

Blossom (sheepishly) said "Oops, sorry." Buttercup

Professor sight "You girls will have to cope the best you can. I can't keep Buttercup home while I work on the antidote. She could get underfoot. I think it is best if you watch her closely."

Blossom said "Okay, just as long as she doesn't try to look for vermin in my hair."

Buttercup said "But they're so tasty."

Bubbles said "Eeeyew!"

Ms. Keane is bringing her class to order when the Powerpuff Girls finally arrive for school.

Blossom said "Sorry we're late Ms. Keane, we had trouble getting Buttercup dressed."

Ms. Keane said "Well I'm glad you girls decided to honor us with your presence...EEEEEK!"

Everyone turns to look at the Powerpuff Girls and see a very hairy Buttercup standing between Blossom and Bubbles.

Robin said "Isn't it too warm for a fur coat?"

Mitch said "Whoa, someone needs a haircut!"

Ms. Keane said "What is the matter with her? It's not contagious is it?"

Blossom said "No it's not, Ms. Keane. It seems Buttercup's DNA got mixed up with Mojo Jojo's when we tangled with him yesterday."

Buttercup said "Hey, it's still me, I just have more hair."

Ms. Keane said "Very well, as long as she doesn't disrupt the class you girls can take your seats."

The kids in the class all watch as the Powerpuff Girls go to their table which they share with Robin and Mike. Bubbles sits next to Robin, Blossom next to Mike, and Buttercup between them. Buttercup notices all eyes are staring at her.

She turns around glaring at them and they all look down at their desks, embarrassed for staring.

Ms. Keane - said "Okay class, today we'll learn about the great apes, no wait, maybe if we studied primates, uh no, something less tropical, I mean topical, umm, let's learn about fruits like bananas, oh my!" A flustered and red faced Ms. Keane looks at Buttercup.

Ms. Keane said "I'm sorry dear, it's just so distracting having you look like that."

Buttercup said "Well I can't help it. And I won't get back to normal until the Professor comes up with a cure."

Ms. Keane said "Maybe we can just do some simple math for now. Everyone take out your workbooks."

As all the kids are opening their books Buttercup suddenly jumps up on the table and starts chattering like a chimpanzee.

Buttercup "Eeek, aaak, oook, eeeek, screech!" Then she sits back down as though nothing happened.

Blossom said "Buttercup, why did you do that?"

Buttercup said "Do what?"

Blossom said "Get up on the table and scream like an animal."

Buttercup said "No I didn't."

Blossom said "Yes, you did."

Buttercup said I "Didn't!"

Blossom said "Did, did, did!"

Buttercup said I "Didn't, I didn't, I didn't!"

Ms. Keane said "Buttercup, are you feeling all right?"

Buttercup said "There is nothing wrong with me? Why is everyone staring at me like that?"

Ms. Keane said "Now calm down Buttercup."

Buttercup said "Calm down! Everyone is treating me like a freak, I uh...grrrrr..."

Narrator Suddenly Buttercup starts to grow larger and larger as her voice gets deeper. Then she tears out of her clothes and jumps up, beating on her chest like a gorilla. She now literally looks like a giant ape with a tail!

Robin said "Oh my gosh!"

Mike said "Wow!"

Bubbles said "Oh no, Buttercup!"

Blossom said "I was afraid of this!"

Buttercup jumps over the table and grabs Ms. Keane. Then she makes a powerful leap and crashes through the ceiling carrying the teacher under her hairy arm.

Everyone sits there stunned.

Mitch said "Does this mean school is over?"

Blossom said "Come on Bubbles, we got to stop Buttercup and help Ms. Keane!"

Bubbles said "Poor Buttercup!"

They fly out of the hole in the ceiling and see the giant hairy ape bound across the landscape at super speed heading toward Townsville. They quickly follow their sister.

Blossom said "We have to be careful. She still has her super powers."

Bubbles said "Poor poor Buttercup, I'm sorry I made all those monkey and banana jokes yesterday."

Blossom said Get a grip on yourself Bubbles, our sister needs our help."

Narrator They follow the giant ape who runs down the streets of Townsville jumping over vehicles and using light poles to swing on. Then she scrambles up the tallest building in Townsville carrying Ms. Keane up with her. Stopping at the peak Buttercup looks confused as Blossom and Bubbles fly around her.

Ms. Keane said "Buttercup, put me down!"

She looks down at the street very far below her.

Ms. Keane yelled "Ah, no! Don't put me down."

Blossom said "Don't make any sudden moves, Ms. Keane."

Bubbles said "Maybe if we fed Buttercup some bananas."

Buttercup said "Growlll..."

Blossom said "I don't think she's hungry."

At that moment the Mayor awakens from a nap and throws open the curtains of his office. He suddenly sees the giant ape hanging off the top of the building holding a woman and two small objects flying around it.

Mayor said "Oh goodie, Ms. Bellum, bring some popcorn!" His secretary enters from her office.

Ms. Bellum said "Whatever for Mayor?"

Mayor said "They're showing my favorite movie on the teevee, King Kong. This is the good part."

Ms. Bellum said "Um Mayor, that's not a television set you're looking at. That's the window. That looks like a giant ape on that building with Ms. Keane in its arms and the Powerpuff Girls flying around it."

Mayor said "Okay then, change the channel if you don't want to see it."

Ms. Bellum (shrugging her shoulders) "Sigh..."

Blossom and Bubbles slowly fly around Buttercup. Ms. Keane nervously looks down at the extreme height she is at.

Blossom said "Don't do anything to startle her."

Ms. Keane said "Yes, please don't or she could drop me."

Bubbles said "Don't worry Ms. Keane, I'll catch you."

Blossom said "Buttercup, it's me Blossom. Now calm down and..."

Suddenly a giant hairy paw smacks Blossom and she slams into the side of the building across the street.

Bubbles said "Buttercup, we don't mean you any harm!"

She is kicked away by a giant hairy foot as Buttercup growls like a cornered beast. Blossom and Bubbles regroup while rubbing their sore bodies.

Blossom said "Groan, we can't do anything or she'll hurt Ms. Keane."

Bubbles said "Maybe if we calmed her down...with music!"

Blossom said "Yes, music does have the charm to soothe the savage beast."

Bubbles said "Ahem..."

Blossom said "NO BUBBLES! Don't sing!"

Bubbles said "Why not, I have a nice voice."

Blossom said "Not according to Buttercup. Remember the last time you sang while we were taking a bath. She was so annoyed having to take a bath in the first place your singing made her even angrier and she pushed your head under the water."

Bubbles said "She has no taste, I bet you're not any better."

Blossom said "We need a good calming voice."

They both turn to look at Ms. Keane who is waiting for them to rescue her.

Blossom said "Ms. Kean you have to sing to calm Buttercup down."

Ms. Kean said "Sing?"

Bubbles said "Yes, sing something nice."

Ms. Keane said "Okay, here goes..."

(Ms. Keane singing)

"Beautiful dreamer, Wake unto me" "Starlight and dewdrops, Are awaiting thee"

Buttercup looks at Ms. Keane with a puzzled look...

"Sounds of the rude world, Heard in the day"

Buttercup smiles and her eyelids grow heavy...

"List' while I woo thee, With soft melody"

Buttercup closes her eyes and sways to the song as she hangs from the top of the building...

Ms. Keane takes a breath as Blossom and Bubbles quietly fly up and grab her arms

when Buttercup's hairy grip loosens. They pull Ms. Keane away from the dozing ape.

Bubbles said "That was wonderful Ms. Keane, you have a great voice."

Ms. Keane said "Thank you Bubbles, I..."

Blossom said "OH MY GOSH!"

They all watch as Buttercup, still in a stupor, lets go of the building and plummets to the pavement below. She hits with a loud crash creating long cracks in the concrete. They land on the street next to the still hairy form of Buttercup as the Mayor's limousine pulls up. He gets out and looks at the motionless giant ape. He take off his hat and bows his head.

Mayor said "T'was beauty that killed the beast." Then he looks up with a smile.

Mayor said "I always wanted to say that."

Blossom floats over and puts her head on Buttercup's chest.

Bubbles said "Is Buttercup dead?"

Blossom said "No, she's okay, she's sleeping."

Ms. Keane said "I've never seen anyone sleep through a fall from a 50 story building before."

Blossom said "That's Buttercup for you, she can sleep through an earthquake. Come on Bubbles, let's get her home while she's still under."

She and Bubbles struggle to lift the sleeping body of their sister. They slowly float away over the city with their hairy burden.

Ms. Keane said "What a day it has been."

Ms. Bellum said "Come on Ms. Keane, we'll give you a ride back to the school."

Ms. Keane said "Thank you, I don't know what kind of mischief my students are getting into while they are unsupervised."

Narrator When Blossom and Bubbles get home with Buttercup they see a police van in their driveway. The Professor is seen talking to the warden from the prison. Both men look up in surprise when they see the girls fly toward them with a giant sleeping ape and place it gently on the front lawn.

Professor said "Gracious girls, what is that? And where is Buttercup?"

Blossom said "This IS Buttercup. She mutated into a gorilla because of the monkey DNA in her. She's asleep right now but you need to change her back."

Professor said "Well, it's good you brought her, I was about to test the DNA re-mutator on Mojo Jojo."

In the back of the prison van is a little hairy boy with large dark eyes. He looks like a Rowdyruff Boy who badly needs a haircut.

Mojo Jojo said "Let me out of here, I'm going to kick your butts!"

Bubbles said "He sounds like Buttercup."

Professor said "Yes, her DNA has mutated him as well. So stand back everybody and we'll see if my re-mutator ray works."

He holds up what looks like a food processor with a barrel coming out of it. Pushing a button marked "blend" a ray shoots out and bathes Mojo Jojo in its gentle light.

Mojo Jojo said "What are you doing to me? I'm going to wipe the floor with you, you'll see..."

Then Mojo slowly begins to return to his previous shape and personality.

Mojo Jojo said "Oh my head, what has happened to me. Have you Powerpuffs been using my body for a punching bag again?"

Blossom said "Yep, that's our old whiny Mojo Jojo all right."

Bubbles said "Now do Buttercup."

The Professor turns the ray on the giant ape and it begins to grow smaller and less hairy. Soon a naked and normal looking Buttercup is sleeping on the front lawn. The Professor turns off the ray, takes off his lab coat and covers Buttercup with it as he picks her up.

Warden said "Well Professor Utonium, while you see to your girls I'll take Mojo back to his cell. Thank you for your help."

Professor said "You're most welcome, Warden." As the van drives away Buttercup sleepily stirs in the Professor's arms.

Buttercup said "Mmmm, sing that nice song to me again."

Professor said "Song?"

Bubbles said "This one...beautiful dreamer, wake unto me, starlight and dewdrops are awaiting thee.."

Buttercup wakes up and covers her ears.

Buttercup said "Stop, that grates on my nerves!"

Bubbles said "Huh, you have no taste in music."

Professor said "I changed you back Buttercup. How do you feel?"

Buttercup said "Like I fell off a 50 story building."

Narrator Laught oh Buttercup if Only you Knew" what Happend today"

The background for the end shot comes up.)

Narrator ! So once again the day is saved, thanks to the Powerpuff Girls— well two of theme" again"
