Zoom Time Assassins - Part Three

Blossom enters the medical room to find Bubbles barraging the adult Buttercup with questions.

Bubbles said "What's the future like, do we have boyfriends, where did the Professor and Ms. Keane go on their honeymoon, is she going to have more kids?"

Adult Buttercup said "Stop, stop, I can't answer all that!"

Blossom said "Yes Bubbles, give her a chance to answer those questions one at a time."

Adult Buttercup said "No, it's just that I can't say too much about the future. You yourself said so."

Blossom said "Me?"

Adult Buttercup said "Well your future self. The less you know about the future the easier it would be to forget what you hear from me."

Bubbles said "Forget, but I don't want to forget we have a little brother."

Adult Buttercup said "You will, it's an anomaly of the time stream according to Professor Blossom."

Blossom said "Professor Blossom?"

Adult Buttercup laugh "Heh, that's what we call you now since you graduated college so early. You got so smart you became the youngest person to go to the university."

Blossom said "Gosh!"

Buttercup said "I figured you would always be a know-it-all!"

Bubbles said "What about me, you could tell me a little about what I'll become."

Adult Buttercup said "Well, you'll become a fat lazy woman who sits around all day eating doughnuts and watching soap operas on television."

Bubbles said "WHAT? NO!"

Adult Buttercup said "Just kidding."

Bubbles said "You're still the same old meanie."

Adult Buttercup said "Actually you'll be a beautiful and famous artist."

Bubbles said "Really?"

Buttercup said "Except your head will swell bigger and you'll need a wheelbarrow to carry it around."

Bubbles said "If you wasn't hurt, Buttercup, I would..."

Suddenly they hear a buzzing noise from the lab next door.

Blossom said "What's that?"

The Professor rushes in.

Professor said "That's my sensors picking up another vortex forming in our time." They follow him into the lab. Buttercup manages to slowly float out of bed after them.

Professor said "According to my readings the vortex is forming inside Mojo Jojo's lair."

Blossom said "That doesn't sound good."

Adult Buttercup said "No it doesn't."

Buttercup said "We can handle anything that silly monkey throws at us."

Professor said "Buttercup! What are you doing out of bed? Get back in there."

Buttercup said "But I'm feeling better."

Professor said "I'll tell you when are fully recovered. Now back to bed so you can heal properly."

Buttercup said "Rats, I wanted to get in on the action."

Bubbles said "Should we go pay Mojo a visit?"

Blossom said "We better wait and see what's going to happen first. So far he hasn't done anything wrong yet."

Adult Buttercup said "She's right about that."

They follow the Professor who tucks a reluctant Buttercup back in bed. Ms. Keane carries Cody into the medical room. When the boy sees the adult Buttercup for the first time he gets excited.

Cody said "Budda-cup!"

Adult Buttercup said "Hey, tiger. Let me hold him a while." When Ms. Keane hands Cody to the older Buttercup the boy makes flapping movements with is arms.

Cody said "Woosh woosh woosh!"

Adult Buttercup said "He likes it when I give him rides on my cycle."

Buttercup said "I wish I could see this sky cycle everyone is talking about."

Adult Buttercup said "You will eventually."

Buttercup said "Can I ride it too?"

Professor (sternly) said "Buttercup!"

Buttercup said "I know, I know, I got to heal first. Rats."

Adult Buttercup said "Don't worry, you'll get to ride it a lot when the Professor builds it for you."

Buttercup said "He does?"

Professor said "I do?"

Adult Buttercup said "You always liked tinkering and made that sky cycle with some cool weapons. Comes in real handy sometimes."

Blossom said "Like today."

Narrator Meanwhile at Mojo Jojo's lair, the two simians make their plans.

Mojo Jojo said "What do we do first? Build a missile, a ray cannon, a huge robot?"

Old Mojo Jojo said "No, we can succeed with just this!" He holds out a sealed test tube.

Old Mojo Jojo said "This contains a virus which just needs a dose of radiation to mutate into a weapon to eliminate the Powerpuff Girls once and for all."

Mojo Jojo said "Why could you not have done it yourself in your time?"

Old Mojo Jojo said "Because advancements in generating clean cheap energy have made nuclear power obsolete and the nuclear piles in my time were all taken offline and dismantled. I need a massive amount of radiation to make this mutate properly. So you must get me into Townsville's nuclear power plant."

Mojo Jojo said "That is not problem for a genius like me."

Old Mojo Jojo said "And the Powerpuff Girls?"

Mojo Jojo said "As you would say, distracting them would be 'CHILD'S PLAY'!"

Outside the Utonium home the adult Buttercup is wiping dust off her sky cycle when she hears a familiar voice behind her.

Buttercup said "Cool, that is a rad looking machine!"

Adult Buttercup said "Should you be out of bed?"

Buttercup said "I snuck out because I wanted to see our...your bike."

Adult Buttercup said "I should have known better."

Buttercup said "Can I sit on it, please?"

Adult Buttercup said "You know I can't refuse my own self." As Buttercup sits on the seat the adult Buttercup stares at her younger self and remembers the youthful enthusiasm and rebellious nature she once had.

Buttercup said "What kind of weapons does it have? How fast does it go?"

Adult Buttercup said "A few missiles and lasers, it can go Mach 2 on a clear day."

Buttercup said "Cool!"

Buttercup looks up at her older self.

Buttercup said "So uh, things go well for us in the future?"

Adult Buttercup said "Certainly does. We don't have as many monsters and weird criminals to fight. But we are busy keeping peace in Townsville." She notices her younger self looking at her with an obvious question burning in her head.

Adult Buttercup said "I know what you really want to ask? Do we have a boyfriend?"

Buttercup - said "Not that it's any of my business."

Adult Buttercup said "Let me just say we got a few guys who treat us right and know how to show a lady a good time."

Buttercup smiles at the woman.

Adult Buttercup said "Come on, let's sneak you back in the house before they notice you missing."

Narrator Meanwhile activity at Townsville nuclear plant is the same as always. A daily routine of running and managing the machinery which produces energy for the city with a nuclear reactor. Nearby two figures hiding in the shadows view the complacent scene.

Old Mojo Jojo said "As I remembered, there are no guards. Is the distraction ready?"

Mojo Jojo said "Very ready." He pulls a small control box out of his pocket.

Old Mojo Jojo said "Good, once you activate it we'll go in with our laser cannons blazing and take over the place."

Mojo Jojo said "Then let us begin." He pushes a red button on the control box.

Narrator At that moment an explosive placed under the Deep River Bridge just as a school bus full of children is crossing it on their way to a field trip detonates. The bus careens out of control and through the railing. It teeters precariously on the edge, imminent doom awaits it if it falls into the gorge. Children scream in panic. A passerby calls for help on his cell phone.

Meanwhile, at the home of the Powerpuff Girls the adult Buttercup watches as the

Professor and Ms. Keane dote on what could be their future child. Then the hotline is heard buzzing.

Blossom said "I got it! Yes, what is it? Oh No! We're on it!" She slams the phone down.

Blossom said "That was the Mayor, a school bus full of kids is about to fall off the Deep River Bridge on the other side of town!"

Adult Buttercup said "Then let's go."

Blossom said "You sure you want to come along?"

Adult Buttercup said "I have a feeling this is part of a plan by Mojo Jojo and you need me while your sister is still recovering."

Blossom said "Okay, let's roll!"

Adult Buttercup said "I never get tired of hearing that."

Narrator Flying quickly they reach the bridge just at the bus is about to topple over the edge. Zooming faster than her sisters the adult Buttercup catches the bus and carries it to the safety of solid ground.

Blossom said "Well that was easy."

Adult Buttercup said "Too easy. This was a distraction."

Suddenly the communicator on Blossoms belt buzzes. The Professor's voce is heard:

Professor - said "Girls! Mojo Jojo and someone like him have taken over the Townsville nuclear plant."

Adult Buttercup said "I was afraid of this. That other person could be Mojo Jojo from the future. He's helping the present Mojo to do something evil."

Blossom said Then we got to get there as fast as possible."

Adult Buttercup said "Hang on to my arms. I can get us there at Mach speed."

Bubbles said "How can you fly faster than us?"

Adult Buttercup said "As we grew older we became stronger and better."

Blossom said "Of course."

Blossom and Bubbles grab on to Buttercup's arms.

Blossom - said "Okay Buttercup. This time you say it."

Adult Buttercup said "With pleasure. Let's roll!"

Narrator At the nuclear plant the two Mojos have succeeded in making all the workers flee as they blasted their way into the nuclear core. As Mojo Jojo stands guard the older Mojo attaches the capsule to a cable on an overhead gantry and positions it over the exposed nuclear pile.

Mojo Jojo said "It is all set, we just lower the virus into the radiation chamber."

Old Mojo Jojo said "Not too fast! If it gets too close to the heat the virus will be destroyed. All we need is the radiation energy."

Old Mojo Jojo pulls a lever and the metal capsule slowly lowers into the heart of the nuclear reactor.

Old Mojo Jojo said "Soon the radiation will mutate this virus and my plans for revenge will be complete."

Mojo Jojo said "Yes, a creature powerful enough to destroy the Powerpuff Girls will be created."

Old Mojo Jojo said "No, a virus that is impervious to anything will be created. It will spread over the entire planet and wipe out all life."

Mojo Jojo said "WHAT!? You cannot do that! What about me, what about my future?"

Old Mojo Jojo pulls out a ray gun and aims it at Mojo.

Old Mojo Jojo said "There will be no future to worry about after today." Suddenly Mojo slaps the gun out of his older self's hands before it can be fired.

Mojo Jojo said "You forget I was faster in my youth."

Old Mojo Jojo said "You must not stop me!"

But Mojo is too strong for the elder monkey as they wrestle and he pushes him away from the control panel. Then Mojo pulls a lever and the capsule detaches from the cable, falling into the heart of the nuclear pile to be incinerated

instantly. Suddenly the door to the control room is blasted off its hinges by an energy bolt. The adult Buttercup steps through followed by Blossom and Bubbles.

Adult Buttercup said "Not so fast Mojo Jojo!"

Blossom said "Hey, we're supposed to say that."

Adult Buttercup said "I got seniority on you now."

Mojo Jojo said "The Powerpuff Girls! Buttercup, how did you get so big so fast?"

Adult Buttercup said "I'm Buttercup from the future. From the same time as him." She points to the trembling old monkey on the floor.

Mojo Jojo said "How is that possible? You still look young while my future self looks almost a hundred years old."

Adult Buttercup said "We're both only from twelve years in future."

Mojo Jojo said "WHAT?"

Adult Buttercup said "Tell him the truth you old monkey!"

Old Mojo Jojo said "She's right, *cough*, we both are from the recent future. Some time ago I was working on a virus to cause premature aging. I was hoping to infect the girls and make them age rapidly until they died. But it backfired and I was infected. Now I'm dying and I wanted to take the whole world with me. The future Powerpuff Girls stopped me but I was hoping to *cough* *cough*..."

Adult Buttercup said "You brought this on yourself Mojo. You could have asked the Professor to find a cure."

Old Mojo Jojo - said "No, my pride...my pride would not let me ask *cough*..."

Mojo Jojo said "My stupid, foolish pride."

Old Mojo Jojo said "My fight is over. I have not won..." Then the old monkey's eyes close and his chest sinks as he stops breathing.

Bubbles said "Poor old Mojo Jojo...is dead."

The present Mojo Jojo looks incredulously at his withered future self.

Mojo Jojo said "I have no future left."

Adult Buttercup said "Yes you have, you can change it. You don't have to create that virus now that you know how much of a mistake it will be."

Mojo Jojo said "I need time to think about this." The girls silently watch as he walks out of the control room. Then they hear a hissing sound and turn to see old Mojo Jojo's body disintegrate. All that is left is a pile of dust. Then the dust itself turns into a mist that floats away and out a window.

Blossom said "Is he really gone?"

Adult Buttercup - said "Maybe and maybe not. Like the Professor says, history writes its own last chapter."

Narrator The Professor, Ms. Keane and the Powerpuff Girls are in front of their home as they watch the adult Buttercup carry Cody over to her sky cycle. Buttercup is standing with her sisters and has her arm in a sling.

Adult Buttercup said "Ready for your ride home tiger?"

Cody said "Ride, whee!"

She pushes a button on the console of her bike and a child seat pops up behind the main one. The adult Buttercup straps in Cody and puts a small helmet on him.

Ms. Keane said "I'm going to miss the little darling."

Adult Buttercup said "The wait will be worth it, Mom."

Ms. Keane said "I still can't get used to you calling me Mom."

Cody said "Mama, mama!"

Ms. Keane said "I can get used to that."

Adult Buttercup said "Well folks, we're off. Soon you'll forget a lot of this. Some of it will seem like a dream."

Professor said "It will be hard to forget what you did for us." The adult Buttercup gets on her bike and then looks at her younger self. She gives Buttercup a wink.

Adult Buttercup said "Keep fighting."

Buttercup said "Always."

The sky cycle starts up with a roar and lifts off. As they wave to the riders Cody and his older sister wave back. Then trailing a plume of fire the cycle rockets into the sky. A vortex opens in front of them and they disappear into it. Then the vortex is gone and all that is left is a clear blue sky.

Ms. Keane said "Well, I better get to my car. I have to get it fixed if I'm to be able to drive to school next week."

Blossom said "Let me and Bubbles help you get it to a garage, Mo...uh, Ms. Keane. It would save you a towing fee."

Ms. Keane said "Oh, that's so kind of you. If you don't mind I would rather walk than have you fly me to my car."

Bubbles said "That's okay, we can walk too. It's a nice day for it."

Professor said "Ms. Keane?"

Ms. Keane said "Yes, Professor?"

Professor said "May I call you soon?"

Ms. Keane said "Yes, you may. We can talk old times or even new times."

Professor said "Thank you."

Ms. Keane said "Let's go girls."

When Ms. Keane, Blossom and Bubbles walk down the street Buttercup looks up at the Professor.

Buttercup - said "So, you sly dog you...you still got a thing for her?"

Professor said "That is none of your business, young lady."

Buttercup said "I think it should be, considering I might get a little brother out of it."

Professor said "Don't be cheeky or I won't fix your favorite for dinner tonight."

Buttercup said "Spaghetti and meatballs? Oh rats!"

Professor said "What's the matter?"

Buttercup said "How can I eat my favorite food with one arm?"

He chuckles and picks her up.

Professor said "By asking your father to help you."

Buttercup said "That will work." He turns around and walks back into the house carrying his daughter with him.

Narrator Professor and Ms. Kean have a baby whoe

as the Heart append
