"Welcome back. It is a beautiful day here in Crocus as we all prepare for the A and S Class games to begin," Chappy's voice filling the air as the crowd settled down.
"Yes, and once again it is time to announce the participants in the Titian class challenge," Tomma said as the crowd cheered in the background.
"Absolutely, and as it is the first time, we are broadcasting the games out side of Fiore why don't we explain the Titan class," Chappy spoke happily as he waited for the team attendants to give him the all clear sign through his head set.
"Certainly, as it is well known we categorize mages based on power and age here in Fiore. A J- Class mage is one that is between the ages of nine and fourteen. In order to qualify for A- class they must be a part of a guild for at least a year and at least fifteen," Tomma explained as they watched as each screen in front of them focused in on where they were supposed to be. As the live feed panned over the crowd before jumping back to them.
"And a S-class mage is one that has been a part of the same guild for at least a year as an A-class mage and has met the requirements each guild set in order to qualify. But by far the Fairies have the most complicated requirements to qualify as S-Class. Though the actual events are shrouded in mystery since the S-class trials for the guild are performed on the guild's holy land of Tenrou Island," Tomma continued as he watched the live feed jump to the Fairy's guild box.
The young children all waving to the camera's happily hanging precariously over the railing as their parents were all talking amongst themselves occasionally looking over making sure none of the children were tampering with the runes that kept them in the box. Laxus turned whispering something to Freed as the totems entertained the youngest of the children.
"Yes, but you have to admit that any wizard that bears the S-class ranking from Fairy Tail is by far deserving. And a double S-class mage is one who has been working as an S-class mage for at least three years," Chappy spoke as he saw a pregnant Asuka and her husband waved as their names and Ranks popped up on the bottom of the screen. Asuka and her husband Christopher Cornell, him having taken her name, both double S-class mages who were temporarily retired due to the want to start a family.
"And finally, we have Titan Class mages. These mages are the step just under wizard saints. To classify as one, you have to be at least an S-class mage from your own guild and pass the Titian class challenge that the magic council runs each year with the grand magic games. For which you must be nominated by the guild masters and the list is whittled down by the magic council and the ten wizard saints," Tomma said as the feed turned back to them.
"That right and this year we only have two contestants for the Titian class challenge. But before we introduce them let's begin with the teams competing this year in the Grand Magic Games," Chappy said happily as he heard the all clear call through his head set.
The hallway echoed with screams as each team was called forth. Lamia Scale, Blue Pegues, Mermaid Heel, Quattro Cerberus, and Element's Force the guild that had taken the spot of Sabertooth in the guild rankings since it never reopened.
"And now the guild you all have been waiting for, the home of the Dragons. I give you Fairy Tail!" Chappy shouted as the crowd went wild.
"It's no surprise here leading the team is the one, the only, Lexie Drayer!" Chappy began introducing the team as Lexie appeared on the large lacrimation. Waving at the crowd as they cheered. Dressed in leather pants and a red crop top she flashed her guild mark that lay on her stomach as the fur lined coat that hung off of her shoulders swayed with every step along with her pulled back hair.
"Better have your antidote ready for Damian!" The poison dragon slayer walked out Koa wrapped around his neck as his hands stayed stuffed in the pockets of his cargo pants. He kept his maroon hair short just long enough that it had some spikes in it as he looked out over the crowd his golden eyes glowing as he felt Koa nudge lightly against his neck. Laying on top of the shirt he was wearing.
"Bundle up for Storm Fullbuster!" as his name was called he turned placing a kiss on Layla's head before joining the rest of the team. Thankfully Storm kept his stripping habit to actual fights, his long white coat he had inherited from his father only showing the end of black trousers.
"Ready yourself for the pressure of, Maia Fernandez," the announcer called as the youngest on the team walked out. Her blue hair braided neatly so as to not get into her way. While she was just as tall as her mother her delicate features mirrored her Aunt Levy more than anyone else. Many times, she was asked if she was the solid script mage's daughter, so often enough she dress in light leather armor hoping that the recognized who her mother really was.
"Prepare to be blinded by, Reese Ecluiff!" the eldest white dragon slayer walked out a wide smile on his face, his shoulder length white hair was tied back with a red ribbon as his daring blue eyes seemed to make the girls in the stands all swoon. Each one wanting a chance to charm a slayer who hadn't found his mate yet. As he showed of his peek physic with an open vest and wide pants.
"Bow down to the Prince of flames himself, Igneel Dragneel!" The eldest Dragneel walked out as waving as the crowd screamed. The teen having the same reputation as his father did at his age they were all anticipating the wonderful destruction that was about to happen. Thought his mother had more of an influence on his wardrobe as he wore a tight fitted tank top over sleek pants.
"Now I that we have introduced all of our teams for this year; it's now time for the Titian class challenge," Chappy called out as the crowd screamed again.
"There is no surprise here this Wizard had been nominated for this challenge. We give you Terra Neekis," As his name was called out the mage walked forward. He was in his mid-twenties, he had his father's height but was much leaner that the earth mage. His brown hair was kept short as his green eyes sparked at the cameras as he waved to the crowd as he was dressed similarly to Igneel.
"Now it is notable to mention that Terra unlike his father specializes in illusion based magic," Tomma said as he watched the young man make his way to the center of the arena passing his guild mates as his did so. Lamia Scale all cheering for their champion.
"True he spent several years under Midnight of Crime SorciƩre perfecting his craft," Chappy spoke as he looked down at his paper smiling before he continued. "Now we only have one more competitor for the Titan class trials here and it's safe to say that no one would question that they come from Fairy Tail,"
"That's right our final champion is none other than Layla Dragneel," Tomma spoke as he watched the young girl make it out to the field. She was wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top but had overlaid it with a light cover that stretched to the three-quarter length on her arms and down to the ground all around her. A pair of simple sunglasses on her face as her hair pulled back just enough that it was out of her face.
"Layla is not only our youngest champion ever but the first of the fourth-generation dragon slayers to be nominated." Chappy informed, the sound flittering down through the speakers.
"Layla it's good to see you again," Terra said as he held out his hand to shake as she reached the center of the arena to stand next to her competitor.
"Likewise," she nodded as she faintly heard her brother whisper to shake his hand. Cursing inwardly, she awkwardly tried to find his hand, but he found her's first.
"Are you okay?" Terra asked in confusion, never before had he seen the girl at unease.
"Just anxious to get started," she said pressing the sun glasses she always wore further up her nose, a gift from Loke, her mother had insisted that no one outside of Fairy Tail know that she was blind.
It seemed odd to her, she was born as such and it wasn't a huge disadvantage. Honestly most of her guild forgot about her lack of sight rather frequently. So much so that she doubted there were any new jokes about her lack of sight to ever be made, never the less no one, not even her missed any opportunity. And when she was out on jobs it was always with either Igneel or Storm and they helped her the rare times she actually needed it.
"Now we will begin the first challenge momentarily, as you know we are bringing back some favorite challenges again this year so to make it fair everyone must choose their representative before the title is given," Chappy said as each team talked amongst themselves as the two titian class wizards went to join their teams.
"So, who wants to take the gamble first?" Lexie asked as the team and Layla gathered around her.
"I will," Damion raised his hand as no one objected.
"Alright now the rest of us will go to the box Layla, Damion good luck," Lexie said nodding her head as she and the rest of the team walked away. Storm paused giving her shoulder a reassuring squeeze as they left to join the guild. As Maia stopped to take Koa from Damion, the snake coiling just as easily around her neck as she did Damion's.
"So, as they are setting up for the game let's review the requirements to pass the Titan class," Chappy said as the cameras paned over each team as they discussed their options.
"Yes, each Titian class champion must compete in every game; while they don't have to win they cannot come in last place in any of them. Each day they will battle one opponent that had been selected by the council themselves these battles last for one hour or until someone is unable to fight and once again, they cannot lose. The last day of the games they will battle each other, if after two hours of fighting they are both still standing they both will be granted the class of Titian. But if one can knock the other out then only the victor will win," Tomma read as the field was emptied save for the ones competing in this round.
"Now that our participants have been chosen let's begin," Chappy said as magic filled the arena as each contestant found themselves somewhere, they weren't originally, each surrounded by a city that had magically appeared. "Now returning from the X791 Grand Magic games is Hidden!"
"Shit," Grey cursed as the two Fairy Tail members smirked, having grown up hearing the tales of this game they knew what the best strategies were.
"Now do we need to go over the rules again?" Chappy asked as both Layla and Damian started speaking.
"Each participant is given a point for hitting another participant. Weather by magic or not. But each clone you attack you are deducted two points. The winner is the participant with the most points," the two Fairies said as clones of everyone appeared.
As the screens filled with other participant's faces only Damian and Layla smirked. Everyone else seemed worried.
"Alright you all have thirty minutes go!" the announcer called as the games began.
The two Fairy Tail Dragon slayers quickly jumped up onto the roof tops and raced forwards as the game begun. It wasn't a hard game, especially if you were a dragon slayer. The clones smelled only of magic but the participants each had their own unique scents, this was one game were sight alone was a hindrance.
"Poison scales!" Damion whispered as he leapt from on roof to another flipping upside down as he injected his target, Terra, with his attack before disappearing again.
"Shit," Terra cursed as he felt his body being affected. His arm where he was hit suddenly felt heavy and his magic dropped sharply cutting his stores in half.
"Oh, not a great start for Terra," Tomma spoke.
"Yes, and it looks like Damion was a perfect choice for the Fairies. Since his magic is continually attacking the mage. He will continue to rack up points until the person is healed and the scales removed," Chappy said as he watched Terra take on three other mages.
Damion taking the opportunity to attach his scales to the other three mages before going on. Meanwhile Layla was having fun with the other mage from Lamia scale. The son of Leon was just about as annoying as his father and the dragon queen was ready to take his arrogance down a few pegs.
"Ember claws," she whispered as she not only hit him but took out his ice shield causing the attack he was blocking from Terra and the participant from Elements force to zip right through. Her ears twitching, she jumped up dodging as Damion tried to attack her.
"And its dragon verses dragon," Chappy cheered as the two devolved from magic based attacks to hand to hand combat.
"Do you really expect anything different?" Tomma laughed as he watched the two slayers fighting.
"Damn how much are you holding back?" Damion asked as he sent another wave of scales towards his guild mate.
"Just enough!" Layla said as she jumped up throwing her claws at the mages below hitting her target, as she turned and ran off.
"And with the bell Hidden is over," Chappy called as the bell tolled as the enchantment passed leaving the contestants in the center of the area.
Damion walked towards every person drawing the poison out of their system, each gasping in relief as he did so.
"Damn, you pack a punch," Terra sighed as he finally felt the poison leave his system leaving him panting and exhausted.
"And it's not surprise that the Poison dragon of Fairy Tail wins," Chappy said as Damion turned to wave at the crowd as they cheered.
"Yeah and following him is Terra, Layla, Mermaid Heel, Elements Force, Lamia scale, Blue Pegues, and Quarto Cerberus brings up the rear," Tomma said as the mages all made their way back to their guild. "Now we'll take a sort break before the duel rounds start to hear from our sponsors,"
