"It was mid afternoon Yesterday that God Serena was executed for his crimes in the Domas Flau. But what the world wants to know is if Layla Dragneel, who before the former wizard saint's life ended literally ripped all eight dragon Lacrima out of his chest, will be facing any punishment for destroying them," the report said as the Lacrima screen was turned off as the servant heard the bell for his service. Standing he made his way to the throne room as the arguing continued.

"We all know God Serena deserved death, but why would you destroy eight lacrima of Draconic origins?" one of the new council members asked as Layal stood in the center of the room.

Her parents next to her as the council behind them and the Queen and her children across form both of the councils. Though both Drake and Alya had fought to stand with their father like Ren and Axel were, but neither were allowed to do so until it was decided who would take over the monarchy and who would take the seat of the shadow dragon on the council when their father was ready to retire. So, their father stood alone as each council member had their heir and older children standing behind them.

"Those were not true dragon lacrima they lacked the piece of soul necessary to truly turn a person into a dragon slayer. And beyond that they were barley alive they had been moved from person to person for centuries, leaving little pieces of their power in everyone that carried them, and Serena had destroyed any hope of using them to create more high-powered mages when he took so many into his body at once," Layla said calmly, she knew there would be questions and had prepared her answers ahead of time.

The only thing that Draco had ever ordered her to do was that at the time of God Serena's death the eight lacrima inside of him were to be destroyed. Maybe she had done it before the man took his last breath, but she wanted him to understand just where he truly stood with the draconic people. Even if he had accepted her finally offer for life he would be the lowest member in the clan. After all he wasn't a true dragon.

That requires a piece of dragon soul, which is acquired only by a dragon granting it to a person. And while the eight members of the Dragon High council were all gifted one, their children, even those who weren't slayers, all possessed as dragon's soul, one they were born with. Something that Wendy and Freed had been discretely studying since Ren had been born.

"Even still we could have studied them," the represented sneered.

"And what learn how to steal the powers of a dragon. When the Dragons return there will be no more Lacrimas produced unless it is by the Draconic council and we will determine who receives them not you!" Erik shouted in raged pointing a finger at the council.

Both Councils held a heavily strained relationship. The Dragons feared that any governing magical body would eventually be corrupted and turn on them like the former council had. And honestly the track record for such events happening did not help anything, even if the last member of the previous council had finally died last month putting an end to them all together. While both groups operated in transparency the Draconic high council had been granted absolute autonomy over any and all issues that pertained to Dragons.

"If you had your way we wouldn't even exist!" another screeched as they each glared at the group across from them.

"Enough!" the Queen shouted as she stood, annoyed that she was usually the referee whenever the two governing bodies were together.

"Layla has already been granted amnesty for everything she had done in the area. Now why don't you ask the question you wanted to so we can allow us slayers to return to our hatchlings and mates," Ryos said as he stayed in his place next to Sting, right now he wasn't the queen's consort nor the father of the royal children he was a Draconic council member. And as such he could not use that influence to sway anything.

"Is it true?" one member finally asked. "Are you really the child of Draco?" they finished as the room was filled with tension.

"I am," Layla confirmed as the air grew thicker. "Now if that is all I'd like to return to my mate, and I know that the rest of the clan is anxious to return as well," Layla said firmly as she turned and walked away the Draconic high council and the Queen and heirs following.

"There she goes, the little girl who will rule the world," one member said as the doors closed.

"Did you see, even the Queen bowed to her," another said offended.

The requirements for the magic council had rightfully changed over the years. At least two years as a public servant, a separate three years spent within the ranks of the rune knights, and passing of a phycological exam. And even after that you were only guaranteed a maximum of serving for five years before you were permanently retired from the council, unable to even work as an advisor to any new members. While they all knew it was to make sure the mistakes of passed councils could not be repeated. Many were angry that the Draconic high council never changed, they were born into their spots and their children would claim them once they were done.

"The Queen is a Dragon Slayer's mate, in accordance to their society Layla is above them all," the first said as the council readied to leave. "And there is not a damned thing we can do about it."

"Well the grand magic games are coming to a close here in Crocus but don't fear we still have one more match," Chappy said gleefully as the crowd cheered in the background for their champions as they had just finished accepting the trophy.

Igneel holding up the gold and jewel crusted cup as he waved to the crowd. Lexie talking happily with a few mages form Elements Force, discussing a few jobs that would benefit from their combined efforts. While Damian and Maia were ganging up on the fire slayer trying to pull the trophy out of his hands, with the help of a few of the members of Mermaid heel. Storm and Reese were each talking to different reporters while the other teams did the same.

"That's right and it's the match you've all been waiting for folks the lines outside of Fairies Gambit have been days in the making as the two Card mages take bets on how this match is going to go. and to learn more about it we go to the man behind Fairies Gambit himself," the field reporter said as she walked over to the waiting Chance as he stood outside of the side business he and his mother had started.

A few months before the Grand Magic Games almost ten years ago. Cana and Chance had been flooded with bets and not just from fellow guild members. A Sorcerer's weekly article had joked about their books and the world wanted in. So, the duo invested in a small shop in downtown Crocus, and in two days they were over flowing with bets. Over the years they expanded having small branches in different cities, even opening one in Seven this year. And while only the Magnolia branch, which was seated inside of the guild hall, was open year-round the mother son duo made their yearly earnings in the three weeks that surrounded the Grand Magic games and the Titian Class Challenge.

"Hello everyone!" Chance said happily as he waved to the camera. His red hair was coiffed to the side, standing next to the reporter in his purple silk shirt which was left half unbuttoned and slacks.

"So, Chance what are the odds?" the reporter asked as she held the mike to his lips.

"We've got even money on each of the contests winning but is forty to one odds of a tie. It seems the crowd have deemed that the fact that Layla is a dragon Slayer that she will find a way to dominate or pass out trying," Chance said as he turned to show the lacrima screens which showed the common bets.

"What's the strangest bet you have going right now?" the reporter laughed as she saw several members of Fairy tail working behind the counters.

"We've got ten to one odds of a wardrobe malfunction for Layla in the final fight," Chance chuckled. He'd actually taken that bet himself and once one person had done it had became a snow ball effect as all of the older pervs in the country hoped the young slayer would be like her mother.

"Hey!" Layla scoffed in annoyance from the back not realizing the bet was in place as she held on to Luna while her mother ran a window and took bets.

"Chance tell us about yesterday. How accurate were you and your mother?" the reporter questioned.

"Not to terribly off, there were a few surprises Elements Force did better than we predicted, but overall, we did pretty well," Chance said happily.

"And how about the Fairy Tail's win did you predict that?" the reporter asked.

"I didn't even have to touch my cards to know that was going to happen," Chance smirked as he heard his guild mates cheer behind him.

"I'm sure and what about your father's guild? Quatro Cerberus did a little better, finishing in third place, now that Bacchus is guild master," the reporter enquired.

"Well they seemed to have a wild time!" Chance said a wide smile on his face.

"They sure did. Back to you Chappy," the field reported said as she feed switched back to the main arena.

"After the Fairies wins in both the J-CLASS and Regular Grand Magic Games every one is anxious to see what will bring with the Titan class challenge," Chappy said happily.

"Yes, and we are going to be watching two very rare and different styles of magic clash. Illusion magic is volatile and it takes a strong mind to even be able to wield it. I can only think of four mages to have master it in the last century," Dr. Alin spoke as she watched as both the Lady Levy, Prince Ren, and Lord Justine and his daughter Isabella worked their magics to create a strong barrier between the crowd and the arena.

"Well if we are talking about volatile magic Dragon magic is usually some of the first that come to mind as well," Chappy spoke. "So, stay tuned as our two Titan class competitors face off later today,"
