2. Scan

It was dark by the group arrived back to their lab, so they placed the sarcophagus in the room and then went to have some dinner. They'll investigate more in the morning.

That was the plan anyway, but Solomon and Arthur couldn't sleep so the two found themselves back in the lab. The two were searching the sarcophagus as close as they could to see if there was something written on it that they missed in the dark tomb. Perhaps the words were covered in dirt, so they were even using brushes to sweep the stone.

There was absolutely nothing on the stone except the words telling them not to open it. "Let's just power up the scanner," Solomon said, frustrated at the lack of results.

"It'll be quite noisy though. Perhaps we should just do an X-Ray to start off with," Arthur suggested, aware that there may be metal inside the sarcophagus that may distort the images they obtain.

"We can try," Solomon muttered, moving the portable X-Ray machine from the corner to the centre where the sarcophagus rested. He was quite thankful to be given a lab with an X-Ray machine present and portable thanks to the runners over the roof.

Arthur helped his senior friend get the X-Ray machine into position before the two ventured behind a safe wall and started the X-Ray sequence. They had been shown a few weeks ago how to set up the machine to perform a full body scan without having to go into the room and recorrect the position every time.

The machine started to do its job, the X-Ray screens appearing on the computer in front of them. They found that there really was a body inside the sarcophagus.

They could see that the person inside has lots of injuries. These injuries included a severely fractured skull, broken jaw, shattered right shoulder, both bones broken in the lower left shoulders, several broken vertebrae, broken hip and pelvis, fractured left femur, and a badly shattered lower right leg and foot. They also noticed that he had broken ribs on his right side.

"Damn… What do you think happened to him?" Arthur said with a frown, looking through the glass at the sarcophagus.

"No clue. You're right about one thing though. He is the same size as Yugi," Solomon said with a frown as he estimated how big the person inside was based off of the images they got from the X-Ray.

"Do you think it's safe to open the sarcophagus now?" Arthur asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Possibly…" Solomon muttered, turning to his friend. "Do you think the warning about the medical advancements has something to do with how beat up his body is?"

"Why would that be?" Arthur asked with a raised eyebrow. "It could be a warning that his body contains some form of virus that could severely harm us."

"It could be, but I don't think so. Why would he be so beat up if they're concerned about him infecting people. Besides, why would they leave directions to him if it's because he is infectious," Solomon pointed out. "The only reason I can think of them leaving directions to him and having his room completely devoid of items to assist him in the afterlife is because he is not dead. At least not back when he was buried."

"Possibly… But this would be his second life so wouldn't he need items here too?" Arthur pointed out, seeing flaws in his friend's theory.

Solomon raised an eyebrow. "They weren't stupid people. They would have known if medications had advanced enough to save his life, the possessions they had during that time wouldn't be helpful here. No point sending someone off with unhelpful items."

Arthur nodded, seeing where his friend was coming from. "What's the plan then?"

"Perhaps we have a medical team on standby just encase something does happen," Solomon suggested.

"Very well… I don't know if anyone will agree though," Arthur muttered.

"We'll ask Ishizu. She'll be interested in this discovery and might call some of her team in encase something happens. She's done it before," Solomon said, pulling his phone out. He waited to see Arthur's nod in agreement before he made the call. Solomon made sure to apologise to the young woman when she groggily answered the phone.

Arthur frowned and clicked through the X-Rays they had taken while Solomon talked on the phone. He couldn't help but notice that the body inside the sarcophagus still had all it's organs in place which is not usually done in Egyptian culture. They couldn't mummify a body with the organs in place. And the body hadn't shrunk back like a mummy normally looked when it is found. 'Is Solomon right? Is that person somehow still alive in there?' Arthur thought.

"She said they'll be here in an hour. Ishizu is eager to see her first sarcophagus opening," Solomon said with a smile after hanging up the phone.

"She's seriously going to get out of bed at this time of night and get her team out of bed just for this?" Arthur asked with a raised eyebrow. "Really?

"Yep," Solomon chuckled. "Ishizu is always really eager to see stuff like that. She was offended that we didn't tell her earlier that we had found the tomb. She wanted to see the opening of the tomb."

"Whoops. We forgot to tell her," Arthur muttered. "She did tell us that she wanted to be there when we finally got in. It was her that found the papyrus in the first place."

"Oh well… What should we do for an hour?" Solomon asked.

"Probably shower and get some food," Arthur responded, straightening up.

Solomon nodded, the two leaving the room so they could shower.

As promised, Ishizu and her team of two nurses and three medics arrived at the lab to open the sarcophagus. "We're here. Let's get cracking," Ishizu said as they walked into the room, smiling widely at the two men that were impatiently waiting for her arrival.

20-year-old Ishizu is 5'5" with caramel tan skin; high cheekbones; a button nose; sharp, sapphire blue eyes; thick lips; well-developed muscles; c-cup breasts; an hourglass body shape; and mid-back length black hair and two shoulder length inch-thick bands of hair handing from behind each ear, encased in golden bands.

She is often seen wearing a cream dress that falls to her ankles and falls off her shoulders, hugging her body. Gold bands are wrapped around her waist and biceps while a four-inch-wide band hugs his wrist. Gold is also trimming the top of her dress. Brown Egyptian sandals cover her feet and a one-inch gold band dangles over her forehead, an emerald hanging in the centre.

"We were eager to do that an hour ago, but I doubt you would have appreciated that," Solomon responded with a smile.

"You didn't hold off just because I wanted to be here," Ishizu pointed out knowingly. She knew based off their phone call earlier that Solomon was afraid of someone requiring urgent medical attention after opening the sarcophagus.

"No need to be so smug about it," Solomon muttered.

"Thank you for joining us, Ishizu. Should we get started?" Arthur asked, wanting to get back into the task at hand. He really wanted to see who was inside the stone. Perhaps seeing the face could help him recognise the person based off of images recorded of the rulers.

"Yes, let's get into it," Ishizu responded.

"Perhaps you should look at the X-Ray first. Just to prepare you for what we may see," Solomon suggested.

Ishizu raised an eyebrow at him. "Is it that bad?"

"If not worse," Solomon answered honestly.

"Very well," Ishizu muttered, allowing the senior man to lead her to the computer in the safe room where the images the X-Ray machine had taken was still visible on the screen. She couldn't help but frown as she looked at the injuries the machine had detected. "This isn't going to be pretty."

"That's why we called you," Arthur said. "Do you think we should open the sarcophagus?"

Ishizu straightened up and looked at him. "Leaving the sarcophagus closed won't help anyone. We might as well open it and see whatever is inside. I don't see anything that can harm someone though."

"To be honest, I'm not convinced that we are the ones that'll be injured," Solomon responded with a faint blush.

"What do you mean?" Ishizu asked with a raised eyebrow.

"The tomb held a warning not to enter unless medications have advanced enough to help someone who is severely injured. They wouldn't make it so easy to find a tomb just to leave that warning unless they thought perhaps the person would come back to life," Solomon admitted.

"You're always grasping at straws," Ishizu muttered.

"Perhaps. But we are talking about Egyptians. There's nothing new to the theory that someone might be placed under some form of spell in an attempt to save their life," Arthur pointed out.

"Hmm… True," Ishizu muttered. "Well, let's open it up. We'll be ready encase something happens."

Solomon and Arthur nodded; walking passed the woman so that they could reach the sarcophagus. Ishizu followed them and stood at the head of the sarcophagus while the nurses came over to assist the seniors remove the lid of the sarcophagus.

"Jeez. The stone is freezing," one of the nurses muttered as they tried to get their fingers between the lid of the sarcophagus and the base.

"We noticed that in the tomb. The tomb was very cold too," Arthur noted as he grabbed a crowbar to help pry the lid off. Once the lid lifted, the others slipped their fingers under the lid and helped him push the lid off the bottom of the sarcophagus.

The lid pulled back to reveal a very pale man. From his face, Solomon guessed that he was still a teenager when he died.

The boy is a 5' man with very pale skin; high cheekbones; a button nose; sharp violet eyes that was closed; thick lips; well-developed muscles; and tricoloured hair shot around his head in five large spikes forming a star. The base is black, and the tips match his eyes, three blonde lightning bolt strikes shoot up into his hair while blonde lightning streaks frames his face. Three on the right and two to the left of his forehead.

He is wearing a white skirt falling to his knees with a white singlet tucked under a six-inch wide silver belt. Simple white flats over his feet and a cracked silver tiara-like crown rests upon his forehead. The symbol of a dragon surrounded by flames rests in the centre of the crown.

What looked like fresh blood seeped from the crack in the crown and underneath it downwards over his left eye. Blood trickled down his chin too from his mouth, his jaw black and blue from bruising. His white shirt is also stained with blood in different areas, holes in the shirt from something piercing the skin underneath. Obvious displacement was in the left forearm and right lower leg from the shattered bones while a large bruise was visible over the right shoulder.

"Damn. Looks like he went through hell," Ishizu muttered with a frown, gently moving the blonde bangs away from the crack on the crown. "Purple eyes?" Ishizu muttered to herself when she noticed that his eyes were opened a crack to reveal the bright colour underneath.

"What?" Solomon asked with a frown, looking up at the boy's face just in time to see him give a weak grimace. "Did you see that?!"

Ishizu nodded at him, gaping in shock at the boy in the stone. She knew Solomon had suspected it, but it was impossible!
