10. Dreams

Dream Start

Atemu woke up with a tired yawn, seeing that the blizzard that had trapped them in a cave had finally passed. It was still freezing in the cave now, but the wind wasn't pounding them anymore. Snow had almost completely covered the entrance.

Atemu looked down and blushed faintly when he found Yami curled up against his chest, his head resting on his left shoulder while his right hand hang lazily over his chest. Both of them were naked with Atemu's thin skirt laid out like a towel over them.

Yami was snoring softly as he slept, skin surprisingly warm. The two had been freezing a few hours ago and Yami had almost passed out from the cold. The two had hesitantly decided to try extreme measures to keep warm, despite reluctance from both parties. Neither wanted to betray Teana's bond her husband, but they couldn't see another alternative. It was too cold for either boy to use their magic to create fire. At first, they had used their magic to create fire, but that disappeared as the temp had continued to drop.

Both boys were only twelve when they met a year ago and Atemu was married to the fourteen-year-old Teana two months later. Young by modern times, but quite common in the ancient world.

"Cold," Yami murmured, purring softly as he snuggled closer to Atemu. "You're warm. Até."

"The storms over," Atemu said softly, stroking Yami's arm.

"Still too cold out here," Yami muttered.

"That won't change anytime soon," Atemu chuckled. "We should get moving though. Just encase the storm returns."

"We shouldn't go anywhere if the storm is coming back," Yami pointed out, slowly opening his eyes so that he could look up at the tanned man.

"Would you prefer we 'warm up' before we venture out there?" Atemu asked, chuckling when Yami's cheeks turned bright red.

"Pervert," Yami chuckled as Atemu rolled on top of him.

"You didn't say no," Atemu pointed out, running a hand down Yami's chest towards his member.

"You better make the last chance count because it's never happening again," Yami responded, tugging Atemu down into a heated kiss.

Dream End

Atemu woke up with a dark blush and hard on. 'Damn it! Why did I have to wake up? It was just getting good,' Atemu thought with a pout, a frown forming on his face when he heard a muffled whimper coming from the other side of the room. He sat up to find out what was going on, his blood going cold when he saw someone on top of Yami with a hand over the pale boy's mouth.

"HEY! GET OFF HIM!" Atemu shouted as he jumped off the bed, not even bothering to grab his crutches as he moved as quickly as he could over to the other bed. He grabbed the man and tried to yank him away from the pale boy who was crying and whimpering under the hand covering his mouth.

"Get off me," the man growled and shoved Atemu aside with the hand that had been holding Yami's hands above his head, pushing him hard enough to knock him over. Atemu slammed his head against the windowsill on the way past and blacked out instantly.

Yami took the chance of having his hand free to slam his fist into the man's stomach, using his magic to strengthen the attack. The other man gasped, coughing up blood. A sigh of relief escaped Yami as the man got off him and stumbled off the bed.

"A-Atemu?" Yami asked, moving slightly to the edge of the bed to see the man. Frowning in worry, Yami pushed the nurse assist button. Something Atemu had forgotten to do. He couldn't simply get off the bed since the nurses had left the rails up on his bed.

A nurse entered the room a few minutes later, eyes widening in horror at the sight. She had one patient on the floor, clutching his stomach and coughing up blood. One naked in his bed with blood pooling under his bottom. And a third against the window, out cold, with blood trickling down his temple. She instantly hit the MET call button so that reinforcements could arrive.

"What happened?" the nurse demanded, deciding the highest priority at the moment was Atemu. She knew the other two were at least conscious and capable of handling themselves for a few minutes. She didn't know if Atemu was though considering he had a head injury.

"H-He tried to help me, and that bastard pushed him too hard, and he hit his head," Yami answered, pointing at the other patient who was coughing blood.

"He shouldn't have gotten in the way," the patient growled between coughing episodes.

Yami frowned in response, seeing a heap of nurses and a doctor run into the room. All these people suddenly made him subconscious about the fact that he was naked and had no covers to hide under. The patient had made sure to toss the blankets off the bed before he began the attack. That's what woke Yami up.

"What the hell happened?" the doctor asked as the nurses split up between the patient.

"I think it's rather obvious," the original nurse muttered. "That one attacked Yami. Atemu tried to protect Yami and got shoved away, whacking his head and blacking out."

"And what happened to him?" the doctor asked, pointing at the patient nearest to him.

"He deserved worse," Yami growled, glaring at the man who had been sat up.

The doctor frowned and walked over to Atemu. More doctors would arrive soon to help them tend to the other two. Atemu was clearly the worse off at this point. He still hadn't woken up. Who knew how bad the damage was inside his head?

Yami nibbled his lip worriedly, looking at Atemu. 'Come on, Atemu. Wake the fuck up!' Yami thought. He didn't want him to be hurt because of him.

Solomon and Arthur were in their lab in Egypt when there was a knock on the door. The two had been enlisted to help gain more information on a mummy of a 3-year-old that they had recently found a few months before. Her tomb had been delicately put together in a tomb quite some distance from any known kingdom. The tomb consisted of items worthy of a Pharaoh's daughter and items from another kingdom that was unknown to the two archaeologists.

"Enter!" Arthur called. The door opened and two police officers entered the room.

"Is it alright if we have a chat with you?" one of the officers asked.

"Sure… What is this about?" Arthur asked, leading the group into another room that had some chairs for their conversation.

"It's about a John Doe that you recently found and took to the hospital," the second officer responded.

"Thank god. We've been worried about him for three months," Solomon said as they took a seat. "Is he alright?"

"He is recovering slowly. He woke up from his coma a few days ago so our counterparts in America finally managed to speak to him," the first officer answered.

"We'd love to see him again and speak with him," Solomon said with a slight smile.

"We don't have the authority to authorise that. We want to know what happened the day you found him," the first officer responded.

"Well, we were following clues left by a Pharaoh thousands of years ago to a tomb that was bare of everything except for a single sarcophagus. Before we entered the room, we read a warning telling people not to enter unless our medical industry had greatly improved. The sarcophagus was cold to the touch and had no hint of who was inside. We took the sarcophagus back to the lab and did an X-Ray on the sarcophagus and discovered the boy inside," Arthur began. "We called Ishizu to come and help us when we opened the sarcophagus. It was just a hunch that something wasn't right. He woke up shortly after we removed the lid of the sarcophagus."

"You expect us to believe that?" the first cop asked with a frown while his partner wrote notes on their story.

"We realise that it sounds completely insane. We do have a recording of both discovering the tomb and opening the sarcophagus. Plus, we have copies of the X-Ray we had taken while he was inside the sarcophagus," Solomon answered. "Do you know what his name is yet?"

"He told the Americans his name is Yami Terla Benu Seiko," the second cop answered. "Apparently he spoke perfect English which throws your story into even more doubt."

"He can speak English?" Arthur asked with a frown, glancing at Solomon. "No one translating for him?"

"Apparently his roommate translated one part before he started to talk in English," the second officer responded. "Apparently he summoned a dragon too… If you believe the reports."

"I think it's possible," Solomon muttered with a slight smile.

"I don't. Can you get us a copy of those tapes please," the first officer responded.

Arthur nodded and walked back into the lab so that he could grab a disk out of his bag. The two archaeologists had been carrying the disk around since Yami was flown out. They were just waiting for the police to arrive and talk to them about him.

"Did the DNA test reveal anything?" Solomon asked while he waited for his friend to return.

"Not really. He has no close relatives. The only match is that child you're working with which makes no sense," the second officer answered.

"That child?" Solomon repeated, gesturing to the room behind him. "A match in what way? Sibling?"

"Apparently Yami is one of her parents," the second officer responded.

"How do we even have the DNA of the child?" the first officer asked with a frown.

"Before we were handed her, the people before us decided to take a sample. Destroyed the poor girl's femur in the process," Arthur answered as he handed the disk to the officers. "Does Yami know that she has been found?"

"Apparently he freaked out and demanded she be returned when he found out that she had been found," the second officer answered. "I guess that reaction only makes sense if he truly is from that time."

"That's impossible," the first officer pointed out.

"Nothing is impossible to the Ancient Egyptians. That culture believed strongly in magic. Who knows if their belief was because it was real, or merely because it sounds like a good story?" Solomon responded.

"You believe in magic?" the first officer asked with a raised eyebrow.

"There's no way to know for sure unless you either find a way to travel back in time or find someone from that time who can answer the question. I feel Yami is the key to finding the answer to that question. He can give us a snapshot of life back in that time," Solomon answered. "I know I sound like a crazy old man, but I saw him wake up after being sealed in a sarcophagus in a tomb for at least a few millennia."

"Yeah, you sound completely insane," the first officer muttered.

"You can't say shit like that," the second officer hissed to him.

"It's fine. I've been told that by many people. I still want to meet Yami one day and talk to him about life in his time," Solomon responded with a slight smile.

"Well… Thank you for your time. We'll be back if we need anymore information," the first officer said as he stood up, disk in hand. The two officers left the room while the two archaeologists returned to the lab to get back into work.

"How do we find Yami?" Arthur asked with a frown.

"I have no idea. Maybe Amanda can help us track him down?" Solomon suggested.

"She would never do that. She believes too strongly in obeying the rules," Arthur responded, knowing his granddaughter would never help them track down a patient. Or disclose anything about them. It wasn't in her nature to breach the boundaries of her job as a nurse in America.
