"Come on, what's the worst that can happen?" Kara groaned twisting around in mid-air to avoid being singed by a burst of copied heat vision.
Over the coms, she can hear her sisters answering huff or that could have been because Alex was also in the middle of a fight of her own down in the warehouse the sisters had just busted up. By the sound of it her older sister had just tossed someone over her shoulder like some kind of secret agent ninja. "She could say no," Alex reminds in a low husk followed by several shots from her favored alien weapon. "do you not remember what happened to her in high school? What happened to us?"
Kara was quiet for a moment other than a few sounds of the mid-air fight before her opponent was sent slamming back down into the warehouse's already broken concrete floor, "We also grew closer for it." She reminded in a low whisper that Alex almost didn't catch it over the rush of wind so high above the darkened city. "Maybe you and Maggie might too if you'd woman the hell up and ask her."
The fact this last sassy comment came the same time her more superpowered sister dropped back thought what was left of the warehouse ceiling only had Alex rolling her eyes "Sure cause I can just be, 'Yeah Mags I know you had a painful time in high school but yeah, wanna come to my dumb high school reunion?" the agent questions as she kicked out the legs of the lacky she'd been dealing with.
"Not just to be your date for the reunion, but also so she can meet-You-know-who outside of you know work." Kara reminds taking care to avoid saying her adoptive mother's name even when the only one outside of the still standing sisters where the goons scattered around the warehouse floor were too busy being either unconscious or groaning from their injuries to dream of listening in on the bickering argument.
"They've already met several times outside of work, goof." Alex reminds rolling her eyes heading toward one of the hastily left boxes the ring they'd broken up had been so eager to cart out with the rest.
"Yeah, but not since you two started seeing each other again." Kara points out following close behind her sister. "Sentinel wait." The blonde warns suddenly.
Alex immediately pauses at the unease in Kara's request. "What's up?"
Kara motions for Alex to take a few steps backward as her eyes narrow in a way that showed she was x-raying the box in question. Not the one Alex had been about to examine but another one over her sister's shoulder. "You're alright now." Kara attempts to soothe whoever it was she'd seen hiding on the other side.
A young-looking figure swings out from their cover behind the large container-like crate. "That's what the others said too." The youngster stammers out in broken English.
Alex's heart breaks for the young visitor but she also immediately tenses considering that although the alien looked young, they were also armed with what even she knew to be an unstable weapon yet at the same instant if it wasn't for the warning hum telling the thing was active Alex would have mistaken it for a toy.
"Lets all just take a breath alright?" she offers causing the weapon to be swung in her direction with a panicked look when she'd wrongly tried to take a step closer to the trembling figure. "Okay, okay." Alex agrees holding her hands out in submission.
"I just wanna go home."
"You're an Aromian right?" Alex asks genuinely curious now.
A new addition of visiting alien genetics Maggie had told her about. "Their eyes are like mood rings so you can always tell what they are feeling." She remembers hearing over a rare, shared lunch break early in their restart of a relationship. "but its not just that they can manipulate emotions too." Only for her then grumpy girlfriend to add a much more upsetting "and they are being traded like gold on the trafficking lines, honestly it's amazing what emotion-sensitive aliens are worth to some people. Although those are the same ones that think with enough alien manipulation, they can turn back time and become young again. Possibly why the younger kids are being hunted so much. Not that we've ever gotten close to stopping it."
"We can help you." Alex says with more confidence than she has considering she was still staring down the wrong end of an unstable weapon with an even more unstable teenager threatening to pull the trigger, "We can get you back to your family." then hurries on when the promise only brings more pain to the young visitor's expression.
The swirling tangle of blues and purples of the alien's eyes making it hard for either Danvers to look away as they tried once more to defuse the tension.
"You talked about Maggie before." The teenager offers moving one shaking hand to tape once at its own elven-esk ears as if saying without words it has above human level hearing.
Alex at least brightens at the mention of her girlfriend's name. "Maggie Sawyer." She nodes
"You know her?" the teen presses
"She's dating her." Kara corrects with a playful giggle earning a pouting glare from her sister.
"She was nice to me. To my parents."
Alex breathes far easier when the weapon was lowered. A loud bang from something outside the too quiet warehouse spooks the already worked up teen enough the weapon falls from their trembling fingers.
Alex dives for the teen shielding them from the blast as Kara tries to catch the falling thing only for it to shatter like glass at the first touch of her fingers.
The resulting contained explosion enough to knock all three off their feet as it ripped outwards like too bright neon green ripples of energy.
