How do they spend the rest of their weekend?

SUNDAY

BRITTANY'S POV

Dear, Diary,

I needed some serious time to unwind after the bake sale. Still dreading the upcoming science fair, but I tried not to think about that today. Today I finished all my weekend homework and designed a couple more new dresses for my fashion line. The first one has over a thousand and three hundred heart shaped sequins. The second dress has a lovely layered look and a bow on the back. They're both pink, of course. I probably should add some more colors to my fashion line, now that I think of it.

My sisters also had a good day today. Jeanette did. I'm not as sure about Eleanor, but I know she didn't seem overly stressed. Maybe she's good at hiding it. Jeanette helped me re-organize all of my makeup kits and lipglosses. Or at least, she TRIED to help. That poor girl has absolutely no sense of organization whatsoever.

I treated myself to dinner at La Cafe and invited Theodore because I didn't want to be alone and I definitely did not want to be with either of Theodore's brothers. I had a caesar salad and some breadsticks. Theodore had spaghetti with meatballs and gave me all the meatballs. He's a vegetarian, I dunno if I've mentioned that before.

We talked a lot about our families. Theo is surprisingly insightful. He knows exactly why his brothers are arguing and how to fix it, but because he's the youngest no one seems to listen to him. I told him even though I'm the oldest my sisters rarely listen to me either. Then, we had some dessert. Light chocolate cake with a cream filling! A dessert fit for a princess like me. I should hang out with Theodore more often.

I wonder what I should wear for school tomorrow. Something trendy, obviously. I think I'll wear my leather jacket with the rhinestones and some jeans. I might even braid my hair if I have time. And yes, I am writing this down so I don't forget my plans overnight. Time for this princess to get her beauty sleep.

JEANETTE'S POV

Dear, Diary,

I helped Brittany organize her things today. I think she was very grateful for the assistance. My science fair project is coming along wonderfully. It's a good thing I have Pippi to help me out. She's a very intelligent mouse. My original idea was just a simple maze with three different kinds of cheese hidden inside. Pippi suggested that I make the maze more complicated by adding two extra stories and an elevator! Now, I have to hope the pulley system doesn't malfunction. I've been thinking about getting Simon's help, but he's been hard to find lately. Come to think of it, none of the Seville family was home today. I knocked on the door 20 times thinking maybe they just…didn't hear me the first 19 times. No one ever came to answer. Very peculiar. Then again, it IS a weekend. Maybe they went on a one day vacation.

I decided to draw in my sketchbook and write a bit on all my in-progress stories. I have this one about a forest fairy who tries to rescue a little fawn who got separated from their parents. It's so heartwarming. I don't want to oversell it or sound braggy, but I am so proud!

Eleanor made veggie lasagna for dinner! My favorite! It made a perfect end to a enjoyable and productive day.

I wonder when Alvin wants those English tutoring sessions. He said he would text me today and we could work out a schedule, but he probably forgot. He and I are both quite scatterbrained at times. I do hope he's feeling okay. Yesterday seemed so rough for him. Maybe he should be taking some "Think Positive" lessons in addition to English lessons.

I think I'm going to write some more of my forest fairy story before I fall asleep. I am getting very tired very fast, but it is always a pleasure reflecting on my day with your company, Diary.

ELEANOR'S POV

This is the private journal of Eleanor Nichole Miller. Anyone caught touching this will be SORRY!

I have A LEAD! I'm about to crack this Vanishing Green Bean Caper WIDE OPEN! Really gotta think of a shorter case title though, geez.

Anyway, I went on a stakeout at the grocery store today. My sisters were on their own for breakfast, and Britt was a little mad. Jeanette straight up did not care, as usual. She lives in her own head so much I doubt she knows much about what's going on.

I made it to the store bright and early and hid underneath the cash register. I waited until the cashier took a break and then I jumped into action. I snuck my way into the refrigerated foods aisle and used my binoculars to watch the bags of green beans for any suspicious activity.

After a few hours of nothing, Tommy came by and picked up a bag of green beans. I followed him to the checkout. Unfortunately, he paid for the beans, meaning he wasn't the thief. I felt disappointed and like I wasted my Sunday, but then something AMAZING happened!

When I returned to my post, I noticed that more bags of green beans were gone. There were a bunch on the floor though. The thief left a TRAIL! One of the stolen bags must have had a hole in it. I followed the trail through the store and realized that it stopped right in front of the girls' restroom. I burst inside hoping to catch the thief. I wasn't fast enough. The window had been opened and someone had crawled out. But! But! They left A CLUE! A shiny red ribbon was stuck to the windowsill! Once I analyze the DNA residue on this ribbon, I'll know the identity of the green bean burglar!

I returned to the treehouse just in time to cook some veggie lasagna for dinner. No one asked me what I did today, so I didn't have to lie or hide anything. I learned that Brittany and Jeanette organized makeup for a big portion of the day. Thank goodness I didn't stick around. I would have hated being roped into that mess.

Tomorrow, I will get into Simon's lab, analyze the red ribbon, and SOLVE THIS CASE!

THEODORE'S POV

Dear, Diary,

Breakfast today was some yummy french toast and a bunch of grapes. Then, I settled down with cheeseballs and popcorn to watch the Talking Teddy all day marathon! I watched a bunch of episodes and then I paused for a little bit to help Alvin find the videogames he was looking for. The drawer is real messy. Dave's been telling him to clean it up and put everything away for…at least a month now.

After Alvin found his games, he went to our room to use the upstairs TV. I went back to watching Talking Teddy and ate some lunch. I had a nice plate of rice with some corn and applesauce. We didn't have a lot of leftovers to pick from and Dave's been working overtime a lot, so he forgets to go to the store to get stuff.

Eventually the marathon started repeating the same episodes I watched earlier in the morning. As much as I wanted to support the show and its ratings, I wasn't enjoying watching the same things on repeat. That's when I got a phone call from Brittany!

She invited me out to dinner at La Cafe and it was SO YUMMY! I had a plate of spaghetti and gave Britt the meatballs. She had a big salad with croutons and two kinds of white colored lettuce. She hates eating anything green. I can't imagine not eating anything green! Life without broccoli and avocados and key lime yogurt? No thank you!

We shared the breadsticks as we talked about our lives. She told me how overwhelmed she feels dealing with all her responsibilities. I talked about how I try to make my brothers get along, but they never listen. She said it's okay because siblings rarely listen to their siblings no matter what age they are. That made me feel better. I still wish there was less fighting in our house though. Maybe that's cuz I'm the kind of guy who strives to always be kind and respectful.

Oh! I almost forgot the best part! Dessert! Chocolate cream cake! La Cafe makes some of the best chocolate cream cake. Brittany and I wiped off each other's chocolate mustaches and shared a laugh.

When I got home, I told Simon all about my dinner with Brittany. I tried to tell Alvin too, but he didn't seem interested. I kind of have a stomachache from the cake, but it was worth it. Goodnight, Diary!

SIMON'S POV

This Journal is Property of Simon Oliver Seville

DO NOT TOUCH: ESPECIALLY YOU, ALVIN!

Today, I kept my promise of focusing on the science fair. I didn't allow anything or anyone to distract me. I spent the whole day in the basement. It's a good thing I have a hidden fridge with some snacks down there. Otherwise, I would have struggled with coming back downstairs after taking a break to eat.

My invention, which I regret to inform you is still top secret, is nearly complete! I finally picked a solid idea and I ran with it as far as I could. I can almost guarantee this will get a higher score than whatever cockamamie scheme Alvin cooked up. I am absolutely dying to explain my invention in detail to someone, but I have to keep it all under wraps until the science fair. It is imperative!

While I was working in the basement, I thought I heard someone knocking at the door. Must have been my imagination though, because when I looked at the security cameras around our house to see who it was, there was no one there at all. Very strange.

When I finally did venture back upstairs, nobody was home. The TV was left on with Talking Teddy playing and there were videogames scattered all over the living room, but Theodore and Alvin were nowhere to be found. I knew Dave was working overtime, so I wasn't worried about him. Having my brothers missing with no explanation was….frightening.

Now, if I were irrational, I would think aliens or monsters stole them. I'm not irrational. I knew there had to be an explanation. Sure enough, they did return home later and Theodore said he was on a date with Brittany while Alvin said he was enjoying his day off. Wait a sec? Theo dating Brittany? That can't be right. Maybe Theo just meant date in the sense that they met up, not that they're romantically attracted to each other. It would be extremely embarrassing if THEODORE of all people finds love before I do.

Tomorrow it's back to the daily grind and back to my quest to develop my athletic abilities more. I'm going to prove Alvin wrong and show him he's not the only athlete in the family!

ALVIN 2.0'S POV

Dear, stupid journal that is NOT a diary…no matter how much Britt calls it one,

I discovered something shocking today. I can't do my trademark smirk anymore. At least, not on command. I spent an hour trying to get the perfect selfie with it, but ALL my facial expressions look…dweeby as heck! How have I never noticed this until now?

Aside from that, I decided to stop wallowing in my own self pity and really make an effort to enjoy the day. There was nowhere I needed to be today and nowhere I was banned from. I had the WHOLE day to myself to do whatever I wanted. Sure, yeah, I did still have the science fair to think about, but that was a dead end and I wasn't in the mood to brainstorm. I was more in a gaming mood.

Obviously, I started with some Mystic Mountain, then moved on to Dungeon Master 7 and Aliens VS Zombies. It felt nice to not overthink so much.

Eventually, I became bored with the videogames and decided to try and return to coding a videogame of my own. I've been working on that a little bit every time I get the chance and it has taken months. I'm still nowhere near finished with it. I may have gotten in way over my head. Not even sure if I have the skill or patience to complete it.

Coding became very frustrating very fast, so I ditched that and went to visit Cheesy and see if he was up to facing me in a lightsaber duel. He said he was really busy with his chemistry homework. I offered to help him out, but he declined the offer. I was thankful of that, because I don't really know why I asked. This was supposed to be my free day to have fun!

I hiked to the trampoline park and bounced around on all the trampolines in there for a while before I was kicked out because I snuck inside without paying. I would pay, really I would. Comic sales are down right now and Dave's stopped giving me an allowance because he says I always "waste it" on "junk."

No. Stop. I cannot keep filling this journal with all the negatives. My life is not as bad as I think. It can't be. Honestly, today really wasn't BAD…it was just…Meh. I need more excitement in my life.

I heard there's going to be a party at Anita's house next weekend. I am planning on going. Still, that's almost a whole week away. A lot can happen between now and then. I hope I don't wind up banned from that too.
