One week, one week Gwen had gone out every night. Searching high and low for any sign of Peter or even a hint of one of his dragon forms being in the area. So far, nothing, not a blip of him appearing anywhere within reach and it was driving her up the wall.

Hammering at her drums, Gwen didn't realise her beat was off as a frustrated growl made its way out of her throat, slamming her drum sticks down on the center drum as everyone else came to a stop, looking at the blonde in concern.

"Fuck!" she growled out, resting her head in her hand, rubbing her temples to try and stop a headache from overthinking everything.

"Still haven't found him?" Betty asked, rubbing the blondes back gently as the other girls put down their instruments and joined them around the drum kit. They had been practicing for a good two hours now and no matter what Gwen couldn't get into it like she usually would.

"Nothing, how hard is it to find a dragon, a dragon!" Gwen yelled out, feeling even more frustrated after saying that out loud.

"The new papers and online articles don't really help much, he's been all over New York and seems to be flying from one place to the neck without stopping" Glory supplied, looking down at her phone as she went through a few of the articles talking about the dragon.

"You're really worried huh…when's the last time you actually slept?" MJ asked, looking down at her friend as she took notice of the dark circles under her eyes. Gwen shook her head, placing her drum sticks down as she leaned back to breath a bit.

"I think, 3-4 hours at most, I've been trying to catch up to Peter but I'm always missing him, I get the feeling he's avoiding me" he mumbled, bringing her legs up to her chest as she rested her chin on her knees in thought.

"What's so important that you have to find him?" Glory asked, feeling more annoyed at how much her friend was searching for this guy rather than taking care of herself. "If he's avoiding you just let him go, less stress that way" she added as Gwen shot the girl a glare.

"He's important to me Glory, I need to find him, to get him to slow down and just…ahh I don't know okay" Gwen said, feeling more frustrated at her own lack of understanding than Glory's side comments about Peter.

"He has been taking care of a lot of gangs recently, did you see how that golden one breaking that biker's leg after leaving the rest of them bleeding out and twitchy from the lightning" Betty pointed out, holding up her phone with the article about Hamons recent attack on it.

"That's what I mean, this…this isn't like Peter at all and every time he's turned into that golden dragon he just doesn't care about how badly he hurts people" Gwen said sadly as she remembered a few articles about Hamon's rather…violent adventures through Hell's kitchen.

"That's what I'm talking about, that thing is a monster and the sooner Cap puts it away the better" Glory said with a sneer as Gwen shot to her feet, looking ready to say something but biting her tongue a second later.

Storming out of the band hall, Gwen made her way home alone as the other girls watched in concern, Mj frowning at Glory as the woman shrugged in return, not even sorry for her comments.

"Guess practice is over then" the redhead muttered unhappily as she began packing up the equipment.

Later on, Gwen was sitting on her bed, scrolling through news reports and sightings of any of the dragons around New York. So far nothing was giving her any clue as to where Peter was staying or even how long he was in one district before going to the next.

The amount of traveling he was doing every day was giving her a headache just thinking about it. Does he even sleep?

About to put down her phone, Gwen spotted a message from her dad, a smile making its way to her lips as she read it. "Dinner at the Parkers, I…haven't seen them in a long time actually, why not, might be good to see them" She muttered, texting her dad back as she tried to get some sleep, planning to head back to Queen's on the bus early tomorrow morning.

And the less she saw of Glory the less likely she would punch her in the face for calling Peter a monster. That thought made her pause, he hadn't actually turned into the Lizard since he returned but the thought of the serum still active in his blood made her bite her lip in worry.

Ever since that serum happened, her life was just insane and not in a good way…hopefully this time she can fix everything.

Stepping off the bus, Gwen smiled at the familiar street that led towards her house, she hadn't visited the place in a while and it put her mind at ease with seeing her dad while he was taking a break from work.

He hadn't said what he is doing but anything to stay away from front line police duty the better, less likely to watch a fellow officer shooting at his own daughter that's for sure. Making her way to the front door, Gwen didn't bother knocking as she slipped inside, following the path by memory towards her old room.

"Checking out the old place hun?" Her dad's voice broke the silence of the house, making Gwen smile as she spotted him sitting at the kitchen table, tablet in hand and a laptop sitting in front of him.

"Nice to see you too dad" she replied, turning to enter the kitchen as the man stood, bringing her into a long over due hug as he smiled down at his daughter. "So what have you been up to on your break? Dating maybe" Gwen asked teasingly as the older man chuckled, strahcign his beard in a way she hadn't seen in months.

It really had been a while since she spent time with her dad, might as well make the most of it.

"Not too much on that side, been busy getting in touch with some old friends, evening helping out an PI in some cases" he explained getting a raised eyebrow from Gwen. "it's been good, not as hard as you think"

"So what sort of cases?" Gwen asked, taking a seat across from him as the man smiled, going back to the cases on his laptop.

"Just some jealous couples trying to find out if someone is cheating, finding out who is taking money from who, the best one I found was a case about someone stealing someone's hamster over a missed birthday party" George laughed before his eyes found another case, making him frown.

"And another one asking about finding one of those winged lizard running around, I swear since they showed up it's what everyone could talk about" he grumbled, looking over the case of someone asking for any information about them again.

"Funny you should mention that" Gwen chuckled out, looking a bit awkward as her dad rubbed his eyes slightly.

"Right, lay it on me" he said gesturing for Gwen to speak as she laughed slightly.

"I need some help tracking down someone, his name is Black, about my height, wears a hoodie…maybe turns into all of the dragons everyone is talking about" Gwen said, finishing that last part quickly as her dad blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Thread times before he grabbed a bottle of whiskey and took a shot of it right in front of Gwen.

"right…I'll talk to Jessica about it later, see if she can track down this boy…anything else I should know…you dating?" he asked, watching Gwen carefully as a dusting of red made it to her cheeks.

"N-no" she stuttered out, trying to get rid of the images of her and Peter being together…now was not the time for that fantasy.

Maybe later thou.

Anyway.

"right…I'll see what I can dig up about your not boyfriend while you get settled in, we are going to go see Ben and May later on for dinner remember, so now spider things, your Gwen Stacy for tonight" he said, looking at her with a stern glare as Gwen held up her hands in surrender.

Well, it might be good just being Gwen for the night, New York could sort itself out for once.

Later that night, Gwen was sitting in the kitchen with May and Ben Parker, Peter's Aunt and Uncle as her dad told them an old story that they have all heard before but enjoyed it nonetheless.

"What about your band Gwen, how's that going?" May asked, watching as Ben and George went to clean up the dishes from dinner.

"It's going really well, we have a few shows booked out for us within the few weeks as well as one with Felicia Hardy of all people" Gwen gushed, feeling excited to talk about the bands current progress.

Even if MJ hated the silver haired women, supporting her for a gig was huge for the mary-janes.

"I'm sure you're all having a blast right now, any plans outside of the band?" the older woman asked, watching with amusement as Gwen seemed even more excited about what had been going on so far.

"A Lot actually, with the band hitting it off so well, I've had the chance to actually look at university classes that I could take, it's been a busy bit for me that's for sure" Gwen explained avoiding the topic of how she was getting a lot less sleep helping people around New York as spider-woman.

"You sure sound excited, wish Peter was here to see how far you've got" May said wistfully, her gaze getting a bit glossy as Gwen lost her smile. "Oh I'm sorry dear don't mind my words, just looking at you, I definitely think Peter would be proud…he always did say that you would do amazing things" May said, getting a small blush from Gwen.

"I…didn't know Peter thought about me like that" he mumbled quietly thinking back to the lack of memories Black had right now…did he think the same.

"Oh Dear our boy loved you, why could I see you together if he was still…" May trailed off, not sure how to finish that sentence as Gwen paused, looking at the woman with a raised eyebrow.

"He…what?" she asked as May laughed to herself.

"I know its a sore subject Gwen, but Peter loved you dearly, you should have seen how many times he tried to be subtle about asking Ben for advice on asking a girl out" May chuckled, remembering better days from long ago.

"He. he did?" Gwen asked, not really believing it. May only smiled at her, patting her hand gently as a fond memory made the woman laugh to herself.

"Oh you should have seen him, trying to find the best time to ask you to the dance, that boy really should have just said it…I believe you would have said am I right" May asked teasingly as Gwen looked away blushing.

Its…not that she wouldn't have said no…honestly she would have loved to have went to the dance with Peter. Maybe things would have worked out better that way. Before she could get lost in what IF's her dad and uncle ben came back to the room, her dad looking at his phone worryingly.

"Gwen, I think we found your friend" George spoke, getting Gwen's attention as he placed his phone to her. Her eyes widened in fear at the basic information her dad's contact gave them. Male, matches description, bleeding, shot by gang.

On the run.

"Shit, shit, dad what do we do?" Gwen asked, trying to figure out what she could do. It's not like she could just go out running, May and Ben would start asking question and…Gwen was stopped in mid panic as May placed a hand on her shoulder.

"How about you, go out looking for your friend dear, I'm sure we can hold down the fort for a bit" May spoke, giving the blonde a wink as Gwen paused. Did she. A smile made its way to Gwen's face as she took off out of the house, leaving a confused uncle Ben behind as May turned to talk to him and George.

Hours ago, Black was on a roof holding his head as another wave of memories assaulted his mind. Wincing painfully as he remembered the punches and kicks he received from spider-woman…all the while begging to be left along.

It had been happening all week and the dragon boy was getting sick of these memories coming up daily now.

Why couldn't he just forget them, it would be easier than remembering how badly he was getting beaten by the white clad hero.

If only he knew why he was getting attacked, that would definitely help him sort out everything that's been going on in his head. Standing up from the bench he was sitting on, Black made his way towards the underground fight club that was being hosted tonight.

Bullseye had made some bets and with Black looking like a weak teenager, he was betting to make a lot of money tonight. And Black wasn't going to say no to easy money that's for sure.

The mercenary had spent a good while over the week teaching Black some nice moves and techniques to use while fighting, and what better way than to test them out in a place he could earn some money as well.

Wouldn't be long before he was getting some nice food for a change.

Ducking low, Black brought his elbow up, hitting the much larger fighter in the ribs, hearing a nice crack as the fat fighter winced, stepping back to hold his ribs. Black gave him no quarter, his free hand swinging low and sticking his unguarded side, followed by a vicious punch straight to the nose.

As the bigger digger stumbled back, Black moved in, his fist curling as he struck his neck, the man falling to the ground coughing up some blood as Black stepped on his neck. He was named the winner a few seconds later, letting the man get dragged out of the ring as he went back to the corner where Bullseye was leaning against.

The man was already holding a duffle bag full of money as Black grabbed a towel on the wall, wiping off the blood from all the fight he had in the last few hours. Overall he had won more than enough money to keep him in a nice apartment for the next year at least.

And food, oh he was going to enjoy a greasy ass burger tonight!

"I'll get this stuff into the account later kid, good job there, didn't think you needed to take all those hits though" the bald man snarked, getting a dry chuckle from Black as he remembered the few cheap shots he took during the night.

He did try to avoid them as best he could but he wasn't as fast as he was when not using his cards. Good practice for taking a hit though, some of those fighter had a mean left hook.

"You head on, I'm going to get some air before heading back" Black replied, making his way towards the exit as Bullseye nodded, disappearing into the night before anyone could follow him and their winnings. Not like they would survive but bullseye wanted a calm night for a change.

Weird for a psycho I know.

Walking down an alleyway, Black almost didn't notice the three thugs following him, glancing slightly to see one of them was keeping his hand in his coat pocket.

Great.

"Hey kid" a voice in front of him yelled, getting his attention as he almost walked into another two thugs.

Fantastic.

"You did good there…made a lot of money didn't ya" one of the thugs behind him said, trying to be intimidating as he leered at the teen. Black was almost tempted to snark back but he wanted to stay low profile tonight.

"Where is it kid?" another one said, pushing Black down the alleyway. "Give us the money for the boss and you get out of here alive" he added, pulling a gun from his jacket as Black narrowed his eyes.

Reaching into his pocket, Black felt the Hamon card pulsing between his fingers before he winced as a small headache chose the worst time to appear. And everything that followed after that.

Lurching forward, startling the thugs, one of them rounding on him with a gun. Black trying to pull his cards out. A bullet being shot. His shoulder exploded with pain. It all happened so fast, Black took off running, barging past the two stunned thugs as he rushed down the street as fast as he could, holding his bleeding shoulder as he ran.

"After him, the boss wants that money tonight!" one of the thugs yelled, the five of them taking off after the teen and he rounded the corner trying to get away as he couldn't even try and get a card from his pocket now.

Pushing past a crowd of people, Black made his way down the street, heading towards the shipyards for a place to hide. Not noticing a few people pointing towards him and the blood trail he was leaving behind him for the thugs to follow.

This was not going to be a fun night.

Back at the alleyway, spider-woman landed, narrowing her eyes as she spotted a pool of blood on the ground. A glint caught her attention, making her move towards the blood as her eyes widened in shock.

"Shit" he mumbled, crouching down and picking up a card…one of Black's cards. "That explains why he didn't transform," she muttered, finding two more of the cards on the ground. "Hamon, Firewall, Black rose…these are the only ones he's changed into" she muttered in thought as she followed the trail of blood out into the street.

Shooting a web towards one of the buildings, Gwen took off swinging down the street, her mind full of worry for the dragon teen.

"I'm coming Black, just hold on" she muttered to herself, heading towards the shipyard and hoping she wasn't too late.
