Peter never showed up.

That fucking, damn that handsome nerd, he didn't show up and now all Gwen could think about was tracking his ass down and kicking it till be begged for her forgiveness.

Okay she was kind of annoyed with him right now but after everything they had been through she really hoped he would stick to his word. He usually did so…damn it did he get himself in trouble again. Another kidnapping?

No no, if that happened she would have got some kind of hint about it. Swinging back to her apartment, Gwen perched herself on top of the roof going over the facts. Since Peter didn't show up, Cap was not forced to put out a warrant for his arrest.

That definitely wouldn't help with his opinion of SHIELD that's for sure. Gwen sighed there, pulling off her mask to breathe a little easier. Cap's hands were tied on this, the serum in Peter's blood made him a threat and the faster they figured out how bad it was the faster they could help.

Slipping into the window, Gwen found her roommates waiting for her on the couch, Mj giving her a smile as Gwen tried to smile back. Flopping down onto the couch, Glory went to get her a drink as the girl sighed.

"Still haven't see dragon boy?" Betty asked gently as Gwen huffed to herself.

"No, we agreed to meet up today and, he didn't show and now Cap has an arrest warrant out on his head" Gwen grumbled, sitting up as she excepted the drink from Glory.

"I'm sure your boyfriend will show Gwen, I mean you did save his life from that mod guy right, he might be trying to find you a gift that'll help get into your pants" MJ joked as Gwen looked away blushing at the thought.

"I wish, and he saved me just as much when he got that new form" Gwen said fondly as Mj smiled back at her. "I just wish I knew where he was, and he's not my boyfriend" she added with a glare as Mj laughed.

"But you want him bad don't you spider-gwen, just like back in school" she laughed as Betty giggled as well.

"Yeah, you had it bad for the nerd, even with Harry fucking Osborn asking you out so much" she said as Gwen huffed, taking a sip of her drink as she remembered Harry's attempts at getting her to go out with him.

"I wish he took the hint that I wasn't interested, I had enough problems" she mumbled, shaking her head to get rid of the thoughts of Harry. No need to go down that road again, not until she got everything sorted with Peter first.

"Hey, how about we skip the drama talk for a bit and have a movie night, just us girls" Mj said, getting a nod from everyone as Gwen smiled.

"Yeah, you're right, I need a break for a while, and shitty movies are just the right idea" she laughed as Mj looked offended.

"My taste in movies isn't shit!" she yelled, throwing a pillow at the blonde as Gwen laughed, feeling more relaxed as the girls went about getting snacks and picking movies for the night. She would find Peter later, he was a dragon for christ's sake he could take care of himself.

Oh if only she knew.

Fire leaped into the air, kicking a random thug across the warehouse as he took off, diving towards a group of them as his energy shields ignited. Barreling them over, the dragon hovered in the air to spot Frank gunning someone down, the man throwing the dead body into a group of thugs before reloading his rifle.

"Get down here lizard!" a russian voice yelled as the dragon snarled looking down at the man yelling at him. He was a titan of a man that's for sure, standing maybe 9 feet tall and in a bulky silver armoured suit fitted with a rhino horn of all things.

This was Rhino.

And he really didn't like Rhino. And that was because the guy kept calling him a fucking lizard!

"I'm not a lizard you dick!" he snarled, diving towards the armoured man, tackling through a wall as the two of them rolled through the street, trading punches before Rhino got his feet under the white dragon, sending him flying into a parked car with a groan of pain.

"You lizard need to stay down, I have money to make tonight!" the armoured yelled roared, charging forward before the dragon could dodge. Getting a metal carbon based horn to the chest…really fucking hurt by the way.

"Stay down" Rhino said, marching back towards the now broken warehouse, ignoring the gun fire coming from Frank as the former police officer couldn't do anything to the armour man. Rhino proceeded to pick up a large box of the goods Murdock was talking about, laughing to himself as he took off, charging through a wall and down the street of chinatown.

"Fuck, hes getting away dragon" Frank growled, running up to the downed firewall as he coughed up a bit of blood. Holding his chest, Firewall snarled as he watched the armoured man getting away.

"I need more speed" he growled, fading away as his form was replaced by Red eyes, the metal dragon growling as the engines on his wings purred, ready to ignite at any second.

"Get on" he snarled, lowering himself as Frank jumped onto his back, grabbing onto one of the spikes as red eyes shot off down the street, civilians and reports taking as many videos of him as they could as he gave chase to Rhino.

It didn't take long to catch up to the man, he was definitely faster than a normal person but that box was holding him back from getting up to top speed. Frank opened fire on him, his bullets doing nothing to his back as red eyes continued to gain on the massive man.

"Get away Lizard" Rhino snarled, lowering himself as a turn in the street came up. One that he was going to ignore as he charged straight through the building, knocking everything over as he barreled through the building. Red eyes was hot on his heels, the two of them escaping the building through the next wall as Frank continued to unload his rifle into Rhino's back.

"Jump now!" Red eyes snarled, getting Frank to leap off his back as the dragon engines ignited. Launching himself into the massive man's back as they tumbled through a wall and into an empty parking lot, the box of stolen goods hit the far corner.

Climbing to his ferret, red eyes barely stepped back to avoid the Rhino's hand grasping his throat, replying with a jet of flames bursting forth and sending the man into a panic as he tried to put out the flames over his metal body.

Leaping onto the burning man's back, red eyes snarled as he punched and clawed at the metal armor, trying to rip it off the man's body to finally put him down.

Only to be grabbed by Rhino, the massive man throwing him onto the ground and stomping on his chest, the hydraulics of his suit making the stomp come down like a landslide as red eyes felt his chest piece crack painfully.

"Die you dumb lizard!" Rhino roared, stomping on his chest again as red eyes snarled, igniting the engines on his wings and they overloaded. A second later a blast of fire sent the armoured maniac flying into the wall, landing with a thunk on the ground as red eyes groaned in pain.

Rhino tried to climb to his feet, onto for Frank to walk up[ to him, jamming a knife into the elbow joint of his suit before he could recover anymore. Rhino cried out in pain, holding his now bleeding arm as Frank kicked him in the face with his armoured boot, making Rhino roll onto his back as he groaned pathetically.

Climbing onto the massive man's chest, Frank placed his rifle directly in between Rhino's eyes, the only space on his suit that was fully exposed…and a weakness the former officer would exploit.

"Dont" Red eyes snarled. His claw wrapped around the barrel of Frank's gun, keeping it away from Rhino's face as the former police officer growled at the black and metal dragon. "He's not worth it".

Yanking his gun away from the dragon, Frank slammed it into the rhino's face, knocking him out cold as he hopped off the man's body, going over to collect the stolen box. Red eyes watched him carefully, holding his chest from the viscous stomp rhino had done to him earlier, he couldn't wait to get some rest after this night.

"I got this one kid, head home" Frank muttered, slinging his gun over his shoulder and marching down the street, intent on getting answers from Murdock for this wild goose chase.

Turning away, red eyes looking up, about to make his way home when something caught his attention. Looking down the street, red eyes spotted the building rhino had crashed through, the bottom floor now a blazing inferno, fire engines and fighters moving to control the flames.

Two floors up, the dragon spotted people hanging out of their windows, crying for help as the fire fighters moved to rescue them. The dragon froze at the carnage in front of him, realizing it was his fault, if he hadn't let Rhino rampage for so long this wouldn't have happened.

"No time" he snarled, the engines on his wings igniting as he blasted off towards the fire. The dragon landed beside a few of the fighter fighters beside one of the trucks, skidding to a stop as he looked between the blazing entrance and the windows above them.

The fire was out of control and it didn't look like the building could last much longer.

"Is anyone left inside" the dragon snarled, getting the fighters to jumbo as the captain turned to him.

"We got almost everyone out before the fire blocked the door, on the second floor there was a group of kids that got blocked off before we could reach them, they're still in there" he explained quickly as red eyes nodded. "Worst part in the main beams keeping the place up are in the middle of the fire, we don't know how long it'll be until the building caves in on itself" he added grimly as red eyes narrowed his eyes.

"I'll get the kids, keep the entrance clear" he said, launching himself forward as he shot through one of the open windows on the third floor before any of the firemen could stop him. Landing on the burned wood inside, red eyes hopped over a metal banister as he landed on the second floor.

It was a mess, the walls were barely holding together and the supports had fallen, destroying most of their floor along with parts of the ceiling. "Help!" a small voice screamed out as the dragon shot forward, ripping through what was left of a door as he spotted a group of four children huddled in the corner of the room.

"I'm here" he growled out, pushing the burning wood away as he stuck his wings out to keep the rest of the wall from falling on him. The kids flinched back in fright from his monstrous appearance, making the dragon's eyes soften. "I'm here to help, can you make it over here" he asked more gently as two of the kids looked up.

One of them nodded, grabbing onto the girl as it looked like her ankle was broken during the fire and helping her stand. Feeling the wood around his wings creak, red eyes tried to keep himself steady as the kids moved over the burning wood, avoiding the large hole beside them as they got closer to the red dragon.

Before they could make it, red eyes spotted the wood under them splintering, his eyes widening as the ceiling above them cracked at the same time. Moving quickly, the dragon launched himself forward, grabbed the four kids as the floor below them shattered, sending them down into the ground floor as the roof caved in on them.

Outside the building, the emergency services watched in fear as the building started to collapse, only to stop dead as a large snarl reverberated through the building. Through one of the windows, a firefighter watched with wide eyes as the metal dragon stood, keeping the building from caving in on him, along with the four children huddled under his legs.

"He's got them!" he yelled, pointing towards the window as everyone moved to help the dragon.

Inside, red eyes snarled painfully as he just about held the building up, his claws digging into the metal supports that had collapsed onto him, the hot metal making him wince as he could feel the metal armour of his body heating up to painful levels.

Another crack made the dragon's eyes widen as the roof splintered above him, a beam falling onto his back as he just about kept himself standing.

"We got you!" a voice yelled out as the dragon spotted two fighters coming into the building. One of them grabbed the kids, pulling them out from under the dragon as the other looked to see what he could do for red eyes.

Behind his mask the firefighter could see nothing as it was only the dragon and him alone that was keeping the building standing at this point.

"Go" red eyes snarled out, feeling his legs about to give in as the fighter looked ready to argue with him. "Just go!" he roared, making the man flinch before he ran out of the building, out into the street as the building finally fell, burning the metal dragon alive as he roared in pain.

Outside the building, the groups of kids were being hugged by their parents, ambulance services checking them over. The little girl with the broken ankle watched in horror as the building caved in, without the dragon getting out in time.

"Mom-mommy, is…is mister dragon okay?" she asked quietly as her mother looked stricken with grief at her daughter's words. Around them, numerous firefighters and police moved, each yelling out orders on how to get the building rubble away as quickly as possible.

"He…he'll be fine darling, heroes aren't so easy to take down" the mother whispered, holding her daughter close, praying that the dragon would make it out alive.

"Mommy, mommy look!" her daughter all but cheered, the mothers eyes widening as she watched a metal claw ripping itself through the building's rubble, slamming down on the ground as the dragon slowly, carefully and painfully climbed out of the collapsed building.

Red eyes didn't even make it a few feet out of the hole he dug himself out of before he fell to his knees, two of the medic rushing to his side as one of the fire fighters grabbed his arms, helping him stand a bit better as the dragon coughed, blood and smoke escaping his jaw as he struggled forward.

"He did it!" A firefighter cheered, clapping loudly as others soon joined him, the gathered crowds of people and reporters taking pictures and videos as the dragon was helped towards one of the open ambulances, being placed at the step of the door as the medic moved to help him as best they could.

Feeling the heat around his metal plates cooling off, red eyes winced as he felt his wings had been broken while keeping the building up, or when a support beam fell on him…either of those two.

"Here, We can't do much but some storing painkillers can numb, the pain okay" a doctor spoke, handing the dragon some of the pain meds from the truck as the dragon nodded slowly.

"Anywhere we can take you, this whole thing has been a mess and I'm guessing you don't have to deal with police questioning after all that" he added with a chuckle as the dragon snorted in amusement, coughing slightly afterwards.

Okay, no more jokes, it hurts to laugh.

"I…I can get by, just need a minute" the dragon said, downing some of the meds as the doctor beside him nodded, grabbing an oxygen mask and holding it out to the metal beast. Doing the best he can, the dragon breathed in the pure oxygen, coughing up more dust and blood as finally felt a bit more air getting into his lungs.

"You did good there, we…we wouldn't have gotten to those kids without you" the firefighter captain spoke as he approached red eyes, giving him a proud grin as the dragon indeed, not wanting to voice how this could have been avoided if he was just better.

A few flashes of cameras made the dragon wince, pushing off the step of the truck and standing as best he could, his chest was killing him that's for sure.

"You're good in my books, feel free to give us a hand if you see a forte again" the captain said, clapping the dragon on the shoulder as red eyes nodded with a soft smile on his jaw. Lowering himself slightly, the dragon launched himself into the sky, wincing painfully as he beat his wings to keep himself airborne.

Soaring over the rooftops, red eyes didn't think of where to land as he fell into a glide, his vision blurring slightly as his wings jerked painfully. Before he could right himself, the dragon was already tumbling, hitting a roof with a loud smash as he groaned in agony.

Maybe he should have stayed by the medic for a bit longer.

"What on earth was…oh fuck" a voice spoke up as red eyes barely saw someone walking out onto the roof top. "Gwen! your boyfriend is hurt and holy fuck what did you do" the voice continued as someone else ran up the staircase.

"What are you talking…holy shit! My boyfriend's hurt!" Gwen's voice yelled as someone picked him up, his b9ody slowly fading away as he turned back to normal, feeling his chest hurt ten times more now that he wasn't red eyes.

Oh god that is not going to be fun to deal with later.

"Let's get him inside… so much for movie night" Gwen mumbled, holding Black close to her chest as they moved down towards her apartment.
