It was a night of harsh winds and freezing rains. Aran and Disco Kid were cuddled together on the couch, watching some Sassy Sisters. "Now, Season 2 is when the show gets really good," said Disco Kid.

"Sure look," said Aran. "As long as they have Stella, I'm satisfied."

They watched and laughed together, when Aran heard the door to the living room creak. He glanced over and saw Narcis shyly watching in. Aran rolled his eyes. "I know what ya want, and y'ain't gettin it from me."

Narcis looked very dejected, and like he had something heavy on his mind. "Here, you can come sit with me," said Disco Kid.

Narcis slunk into the room and huddled up next to Disco Kid. Disco Kid took one look at his face and knew something was up. "What's wrong?"

"Mum keeps badgering me about getting a girlfriend," mumbled Narcis.

Girlfriend? "But what about Heike?"

Narcis pulled in closer, looking scared. "They don't know about him. They'd kill me if they did."

Disco Kid didn't need to hear anymore to understand. Mr. and Mrs. Prince didn't want their children dating their own gender. He put an arm around Narcis. "Aw, I'm sorry, li'l buddy."

Narcis looked up at Aran, who was staring at him. There was a glint in his eyes; sympathy, it seemed. He laid his head back down. "They're even worse with Lacey than me. They're convinced she's a lesbian just because she's an ally."

"Is she?" Aran pried.

"Not as far as I know," said Narcis, "but she's constantly on Mum and Dad's case about how they treat others."

He was quiet for a moment, until Aran sighed and beckoned for him to come over. "C'mere ta me, munchkin."

Narcis smiled and crawled into Aran's lap, and of course, nuzzled into the crook of his neck. He sighed. "I wish I had your mum. She's so nice."

Aran shook his head and sighed. "She's a wee bit kooky, but yeah, she's a real sweet one."

Narcis gave a small smile. "I'm surprised such a gentle woman raised such a nutter like you."

Aran smacked Narcis upside the head before putting the Sisters back on.
