Achieving Goals -Chapter 3
Logan and Finn entered the apartment shortly after Steph and Rory. Logan was trying to pretend he didn't hear what they were saying. He wanted to wait and talk with Rory when they were alone. He didn't know if that would be this weekend or not. He had to talk with his dad first. He couldn't go to her without a plan.
It wasn't long after the four of them got to the apartment that the rest of the gang arrived. This was the problem with having a cool apartment. It became party central.
About an hour after they arrived home, Logan and Rory were sitting on the sofa, listening to Colin and Stephanie fuss. They were not fighting. They are just fussing. Logan and Rory usually referee to keep it from becoming a fight.
Logan looked around. There were already empty beer bottles on the bar, red solo cups everywhere. This was just Friday afternoon. He needed to figure something out. He and Rory needed some privacy. They have things to talk about that he does not want everyone to hear.
Logan had finally moved the party to the Pub. Maybe at some point, he and Rory could sneak out and go to the apartment. Probably not too soon. She was on the dance floor with Steph, Juliet, Rosemary, Aliceanne, and Courtney.
The girls were dancing together. Well, now Finn had joined in. This was going to be a long night if he stayed sober. He needed to stay sober. He had an 8 am meeting with Mitchum in Hartford. That means he has to be up and on his way by 7:15 at the latest. If this is what being responsible is going to be like, they could have it. He wanted to have fun like everyone else.
Logan wakes to the alarm going off. He tries to move so he can turn off the alarm, but he can't move. Rory was lying on him. This was not unusual. Somewhere in their relationship, she discovered she sleeps better on top of him. Well, her upper body anyway.
He was slipping out of bed, trying not to wake her. He told her last night that he had to be in Hartford early this morning, but he was not sure she would remember. He would have to leave her a note. He was thinking all of this and was not paying attention. He tripped over something. Wait. Someone. Finn is lying in the bathroom's doorway. When did he come in? How did he get in? Is Rory wearing any clothes?
"Mate, how rude. I was asleep. Did you have to wake me at this ungodly hour?" Finn told Logan. Logan sat on the floor, where he fell after tripping over Finn. Finn was getting up. Logan shook his head. When he got up, he took a shower to get ready to leave for Hartford. He stepped out of the bathroom into the closet to get dressed. When he was dressed, he went to kiss Rory bye and leave a note on the coffee pot to remind her he was in Hartford.
He stopped when he got to the bed. Finn was laying in his spot and Rory was lying on top of him.
"Finn!" He yelled. Both Finn and Rory jumped. "Get out of my bed with my girlfriend." Logan was not happy. This was not funny. Maybe a couple of years ago, everyone would just tease him about Finn in his bed. But not now, not with everything he had going on. This was not happening.
Rory and Finn were both just looking at Logan. Rory finally realized what was happening and started yelling. She was yelling at Finn for being in bed with her. She was yelling at Logan for not having enough control over his apartment that Finn could come in. She was yelling because she was scared. She was scared that all of this would come to an end soon. Graduation was only a month away.
