TW abuse , rape
Meredith is just laying in her hospital bed connected to so many wires. She tries to sleep a lot of the time to get away from everything. She hates being scared all the time but can't help it.
A nurse enters the room to check her vitals and Meredith whimpers in fear. She curls her body into a ball and just lays there in terror.
"Shh, it's okay Meredith. It's just Nurse Sarah. I won't hurt you." She says, walking a little closer to Meredith.
Meredith squeezes her eyes closed in fear and covers her entire body with her blankets. She doesn't want anyone to touch her.
The nurse sees this and sighs. Meredith has blankets over her head also. "Meredith I need to check your vitals sweetie. I won't hurt you, I promise."
The nurse sees Meredith shake her head No underneath the blankets. She really needs to take Meredith's vitals, every single time she comes into the room Meredith does the same thing. She won't talk to anyone or let anyone touch her. The only things the nurses hear her say is either no, don't touch or hurt me. Other than that, she just cries and whimpers and hides in fear.
The nurse decides to take Meredith's blankets off of her.
Meredith's eyes go wide when she feels her blankets being pulled off of her. She thinks the nurse is about to hit her. "No! Stop!" She sobs. She quickly gets out of her bed and runs into the bathroom to hide. She locks the door behind her.
Please don't hurt me.
Meredith curls into a ball and sobs. She is absolutely terrified. She's so scared she's about to be hurt by the nurse. She digs her nails into her arms in a nervous habit and scratches up her arms.
The nurse realizes she made a huge mistake and pages Dr Bailey 911.
Dr Bailey rushes in and sees that Meredith isn't in her bed. "Where is she?!" She hears Meredith sobbing but doesn't see her anywhere.
"She locked herself in the bathroom." The nurse explains the situation and Dr Bailey's eyes go wide.
"Are you stupid?! Why would you do that? You know she is terrified of everything and everyone. Get out of here. You're off of her case." Bailey heads to the locked bathroom door.
"Hey Mer, it's Dr Bailey. Will you open the door for me please?" Bailey asks softly.
"No! You're just going to hurt me!" Meredith says, her voice shaking with fear.
"Mer, I promise no one will hurt you. You are safe. Can you open the door?"
"I don't want anyone to hurt me." Meredith says softly.
"No one will ever hurt you again Mer. I promise."
"Okay." Meredith whispers and unlocks the door. Bailey then opens the door and sees her terrified intern on the floor crying.
"Hey, Shh it's okay." Bailey goes closer to Meredith who instantly flinches. "It's okay. You're okay." Bailey starts running Meredith's back gently and Meredith soon calms down.
"Can we get you back into bed now sweetie?" Bailey asks her softly.
"I'm scared."
"I know you are. But you are safe here." Bailey says soothing her intern. "Do you want me to page Cristina to come sit with you?"
Meredith nods her head against Bailey.
Bailey helps Meredith up off the ground and helps her back into bed. "Mer, what happened to your arm?" Bailey asks after she sees scratch marks on it. They look like they were made by fingernails.
Meredith shrugs.
Bailey decides to drop the subject and just check Meredith's vitals instead.
Cristina arrives just a few minutes later. "Hey Mer! I got you a little present."
Bailey leaves after she sees Meredith all situated with Cristina.
"Am I allowed presents? I don't think I'm allowed anything." Meredith says softly, thinking about how Finn never allowed her to have anything.
"You are allowed anything you want." Cristina says sadly, thinking about everything Meredith went through. "Here open this!" She sets a gift bag on Meredith's lap.
Meredith tentatively starts to open up the present. She sees a stuffed bunny with long floppy ears inside of the bag. She pulls it out and smiles slightly. "Thanks." She whispers. "I love bunnies."
"I know you do." Cristina says. "Mer, if you want to talk about anything I'm here for you."
Meredith shakes her head no. She doesn't want to talk about anything she went through.
"It might help you to talk about it. Maybe make you feel less scared."
Meredith starts pulling on her fingers and shakes her head no. "Don't wanna talk. Bad things happened." She whispered.
"You don't have to talk. It's okay. Just know if you ever want to, I'm here for you." Cristina tells her. Cristina feels so bad for her person for what she's been through. She doesn't know details, no one except Meredith does, she only knows based off of Meredith's injuries.
Meredith nods while still pulling on her fingers and looking down, not wanting to look Cristina in the eyes.
Meredith eventually falls asleep a while later holding her bunny in her arms.
Cristina gets paged and has to leave.
Meredith is sound asleep and in the middle of a dream.
"No,no." She mumbles to herself in her sleep.
"Meredith! Get over here! You are a horrible human being, who doesn't deserve anything!" Finn grabs a hold of Meredith's short hair and pulls her over to where he wants her. He ties her up to the pole and starts kicking her while she sobs in pain."
Meredith screams in pain. She wants him to stop and just let her go but she knows that will never happen.
"No one cares for you anymore Meredith! You are stuck here forever. You are mine! All mine!"
Meredith is starting to cry in her sleep and thrash around in her bed.
"Oh Meredith... I wanted to see you. It's that time of day again." He says eerily.
Meredith curls up into a ball, squeezing her eyes closed in fear. She has a feeling of what is about to happen to her.
Finn comes over to her and pulls her roughly out of her little ball. "Lie down and don't move!" He yells at her.
Meredith whimpers and tries to roll her body back into a ball but he sits down on top of her before she can do so.
He then starts to kiss her roughly while she sobs. He then rips all of her clothes off and tosses them aside and rapes her again.
Meredith is sobbing and extremely scared.
"Stop! No! Don't touch me!" She screams, thrashing around in her bed. "No! Don't touch me! Please!"
The nurse runs into room, hearing Meredith's screams. "Meredith, Meredith wake up! You're okay! You're having a nightmare. Wake up sweetie!" The nurse tries to soothe her.
Meredith, still in her nightmare, thinks the nurse is Finn and that he is going to hurt her. She starts kicking and hitting at the nurse.
"Meredith! Stop! You are okay! Wake up for me!" The nurse says loudly.
Meredith is still kicking and trying to hit the nurse. She is sobbing and still yelling not to hurt her. "Stop! Please don't hurt me! Let me go! Don't hurt me!" Meredith misses the nurse and accidentally bangs her already injured foot on the end of the bed, making her howl in pain.
"Meredith! Wake up!" Cristina yells loudly. She had just gotten onto the floor and heard Meredith yelling and crying. She ran quickly to Meredith's room and discovered her deep in a nightmare with the nurse unable to get her out of it. "Meredith! You're okay! Wake up!"
Meredith, thinking Cristina is Finn trying to hurt her, continues to thrash around on her bed while trying to kick and hit her.
Cristina makes the quick decision to grab Meredith and just hold her in her arms.
Meredith, now in Cristina's arms, keeps trying to kick and hit, while sobbing loudly. "No! No! No! Please don't hurt me! Let go!"
Cristina holds tightly onto Meredith so she can't try to kick or hit her. "Shhhh, you're okay Mer. I have you. It's just Cristina. I won't hurt you. You're okay. Shhh. You're okay. Calm down Mer." She gently rubs the top of Meredith's head.
Meredith starts to calm down. She slowly stops crying and opens her eyes.
"Hey sweetie, you had a bad nightmare. You're okay. You're safe."
"I'm scared." Meredith whispers. "I don't want anyone to hurt me."
"No one will hurt you. I promise. They'd have to go through me first and I won't let anyone touch you. You are safe now." Cristina says, soothing Meredith, who is in Cristina's arms.
Meredith softly starts to cry in Cristina's arms.
"What is it Mer?" Cristina asks softly.
"I don't want to go back to Finn. Please don't make me go back." She whispers crying, looking up at Cristina.
"You are never going back there, don't you worry. I won't let him get you."
Meredith nods her head in Cristina's chest.
Cristina notices that Meredith's ankle is badly bruised. "Hey what happened to your ankle? That wasn't like that earlier."
"I hit it." Meredith says into Cristina's chest.
"Why'd you do that sweetie?"
Meredith doesn't answer, just starts to sob in Cristina's arms again.
"Hey, you're going to be fine Mer! Can I take a look at your ankle?" Cristina asks.
Meredith shakes her head no.
"Please Mer. I need to see if you broke it or not."
Meredith gives in and nods.
"Okay I'm going to lay you down in your bed." Cristina lays her down and goes to look at her ankle. She starts to touch it to examine it.
"Ow!!!!! Stop! Don't hurt me! Please stop! Don't hurt me!" Meredith sobs.
"Hey, you're okay! I won't hurt you don't worry." Cristina says soothing Mer. Luckily she finished her exam of Meredith's ankle. But she think it's either fractured or broken. "Meredith, we're going to X-ray your ankle okay? I'll have someone bring in a portable X-ray." She pages someone and the nurse brings in a portable X-ray.
Cristina sighs when she sees the results .
Meredith's ankle is broken. Cristina could see an old fracture there and Meredith banging it really aggravated it.
Cristina pages an ortho doctor who comes in a few minutes later. The ortho doctor looks at the scans and frowns. He gestures for Cristina to come outside of the room really quick.
"I've heard about what happened to her and I'm really really sorry about this but in order for her ankle to heal correctly I need to stretch her ankle into the correct position in order for her to avoid surgery."
"You're kidding me right? She's already terrified that someone will hurt her." Cristina says annoyed.
"I can sedate her if that would help." The doctor asks.
"Let me ask her."
They go back into the room and Cristina explains the situation to Meredith whose eyes widen in fear.
"We can sedate you if you want." Cristina says to Mer.
"No! I don't want to sleep! I don't want anyone to hurt me! That's what Finn did! He made me pass out and would hurt me more when I woke up! Please don't!" She sobbed.
"Okay, okay. No sedation and I'll stay here" Cristina wrapped her arms around Meredith
"Cristina" Meredith whimpered
"I'll be back in a minute with all the stuff I need" The doctor said
"Shh Mer. I'm here, no one will hurt you" Cristina softly whispered
"I'm scared" Meredith admitted as she buried herself into Cristina's arms as she started shivering
Cristina grabbed a blanket and covered Mersdith with it as the doctor entered the room
"Meredith, do you have a color in mind for your cast?" The doctor asked
"Mer, did you hear?" Cristina softly asked "What color would you like for your cast?"
"Light purple." Meredith muttered quietly
"She would like light purple please." Cristina repeated for the doctor so she could hear
"Cristina, can you- just.." Meredith struggled
"Go ahead, you can ask whatever you want" Cristina comforted her
"Talk me through it?" Meredith whispered
"Of course" Cristina said and sended a nod to the doctor to show she could start
As Cristina was explaining to Meredith what happened the doctor was wrapping stockinette around Meredith's lower leg
"Hurts" Meredith whimpered as the doctor was pulling Meredith's ankle in a certain ankle to make sure it would heal in the right position
"It will get better Mer" Cristina kissed Meredith's forehead
"Hurts! Make it stop!" Meredith said, sobbing in Cristina's arms.
"Shhh you're okay. He's almost done. Just a few more minutes."
The doctor wraps the light purple layer of fiberglass on Meredith's cast. "All done."
"Cristinaaaa" Meredith whines. "Hurts!" She whimpers.
"He's done Mer! Shh, you are okay!"
Cristina thanks the doctor and turns her attention back to Meredith who has buried her head in Cristina's chest. "Mer, he's all done! It's just us now. Do you want to watch a movie?"
Meredith nodded.
"What movie would you like to watch?"
"Encanto." Meredith whispers.
"Okay! Good choice Mer!"
