Meredith is still sleeping in Carolyn's arms. It's been a few hours since Dr Bailey inserted the feeding tube. Meredith, at peace for a moment, has no idea that police are about to come into her room.
A few knocks are heard on the door, instantly waking Meredith up and scaring her.
"Finn's here! Don't hurt me! Please don't let him hurt me!" She wails.
Meredith is instantly terrified and is about to attempt to jump out of her bed and hide when she feels arms gently holding her.
"Shhh. Finn is not back baby girl. I've got you. No one will hurt you. Shhh. Calm down sweetie." Carolyn says, trying to comfort Meredith.
"No! He's here! He wants to take me again! Please don't let him! I need to hide! Please let me hide Carolyn!" Meredith wails, her eyes wide open in fear.
"I promise you he is not here Meredith. He will never hurt you ever again. I will not let that happen to you again." Carolyn says, gently rubbing Meredith's back.
Another knock is heard at the door along with a voice. The door opens slowly and a police officer is revealed.
"Hi, I'm Officer Todd Swift from the Seattle Police Department. I was just hoping to talk to Meredith Grey. We need her statement on everything that occurred during her kidnapping." The officer sees Meredith burying her head in Carolyn's chest, trying to hide.
"No! No! No" Meredith wailed. "Don't wanna talk about it! Bad things happened! Don't make me Carolyn!"
"You're okay! I'm right here baby. No one will hurt you." Carolyn says softly to Meredith. "I'm sorry, she's very traumatized. Are you sure this is necessary? I don't want to make her go through that again." Carolyn says to Officer Swift.
Meredith shrieks in fear. "No! Don't wanna go back! Don't wanna see Finn!"
"You're not going back. Don't worry." Carolyn said softly.
Officer Swift took a step towards Meredith's bed which didn't go unnoticed by Meredith.
"Don't hurt me! Don't touch me! Please! I'll be good! Don't touch me!" Meredith yells.
"He won't hurt you sweetie. No one will ever hurt you." Carolyn said.
"I don't want to make her go through that again either but it's absolutely necessary that we get her statement on what happened. We want to put him away for life and in order to do that we need to hear her story." The officer explained. "I'm really sorry to put her through this."
Carolyn sighs and nods. "Meredith, can you tell this nice Officer what happened? It'll be okay. No one will hurt you. We need to know what happened to put Finn in jail for a very long time for what he did to you."
"No! No! No!" Meredith sobs.
"Meredith, it was the alleyway connecting Joe's Bar to Seattle Grace Hospital where he abducted you from, correct? And used chloroform on you to make you pass out?" Officer Swift asked.
Meredith stuck her hands over her ears. "No! No! No! Don't wanna talk! Don't wanna talk about bad things!"
"Did he put you in his car's trunk to bring you to his house? And he kept you in his basement with no lights or windows?"
"Carolyn, don't believe him!" Meredith said sobbing, not wanting Carolyn to know what happened. Meredith tried again to get off of the bed and hide but Carolyn kept a strong grip on her so she couldn't.
"Stay here Mer. You're okay." Carolyn whispered to her.
"I don't want you to know what happened! I don't want to talk about it! I don't want anyone to hurt me again." Meredith says, whimpering in fear. "The policeman wants to hurt me, I just know it. Please I wanna hide! Please let me hide!" Meredith wailed.
"He won't hurt you. I promise. I know it's hard but in order to put Finn away in jail for a very long time the policeman needs to hear what happened from you baby girl. You can do this. I'm right here." Carolyn says, stroking Meredith's hair.
"Don't want to talk! Don't wanna go through it again! Finn's going to hurt me if I talk! No! No! No!" Meredith sobs.
After a few minutes of the police officer trying to talk to Meredith and getting no response from her except for her sobs he looks at Carolyn and sighs. "Maybe we can try again another time."
"I have an idea." Carolyn says. "Hey Mer, will you talk to the police officer about what happened if Cristina is here with you?"
No response from Meredith except for her sobs.
"Mer?" Carolyn says softly. "If Cristina comes, will you talk to the officer?"
"Maybe." Meredith said, still crying.
"Okay, let's get her in here." Carolyn asks the officer to have a nurse page Cristina.
"Carolyn?" Meredith says whimpering. "My leg really hurts!"
"I'm sorry sweet girl. Let me see if a nurse will give you some more pain meds." Carolyn presses the call button and a nurse comes in just a minute later.
"Her leg is really hurting her. Can she get some more pain medicine please?" The nurse nods and hurries off to get more.
Cristina comes in at the same time as the nurse. The nurse gives Meredith another dose through her IV and then leaves.
"Hey Mer! You must be so happy to have Carolyn with you." She says seeing Meredith holding on tightly to Carolyn who is holding her in her arms. She sees Meredith still crying and is wondering what happened.
"Hey Carolyn. How's she doing?" She asks quietly.
Carolyn sighs. "Hi Cristina. Not well. The police are here and need to get her statement of what happened but she's been extremely upset and won't talk to them. I was hoping she would talk if you were here with her." She says softly.
Cristina nods. "Yeah of course."
"Let me give you two some time alone. Maybe that will make it easier for you. Officer Swift said he would be back soon." She says to Cristina.
Carolyn turns her attention to Meredith. "Mer sweetie, I'm going to give you and Cristina some alone time. The nice officer will be back soon and she will help you through that. He won't hurt you baby so please don't worry about that."
Meredith turns her tear stained face to look at Carolyn. "You're leaving? B-But you just got here! Everyone leaves me!" She wails.
"No, no,no. I'll be back Meredith. I'm just giving you some alone time with Cristina. I will be nearby okay? I would never leave you baby girl. You're stuck with me." She gives Meredith a kiss on her forehead. She slowly unattached Meredith from her and lets Cristina take her spot on the bed. Meredith quickly buries her head into Cristina's chest. Cristina runs her person's back soothingly.
"I'll be back." Carolyn says softly to Cristina who nods.
"Cristina?" Meredith whispers.
"Yeah Mer?"
"I don't wanna talk to the police! I don't want to go through it all over again! It's scary! Bad things happened with Finn." Her eyes widen all of a sudden. "No, no,no,no." Meredith says starting to freak out and tries to get out of the bed to hide but Crisitna doesn't let her out of her grip.
"Meredith, what's wrong? I've got you. You're safe." Cristina says, alarmed at whatever is going through Meredith's head at the moment.
"Wasn't just Finn. Someone else could be looking for me!" Meredith remembers the man Finn had brought that one day to help him abuse her more.
"He's not looking for you. Can you tell the police about him please?"
"Scary." Meredith whimpers.
"I know but you are so strong! I know you can do it!"
Just then Officer Swift walks back into the room.
Meredith shrieks. "Don't hurt me! Don't touch me! Cristina help me!"
"You're okay! It's just the police officer who is here to talk to you!"
Meredith shakes her head no.
"Please Mer. This will get Finn put in jail for many years. And they can get his friend to who you just mentioned. You can do this."
After 15 more minutes of Cristina trying to soothe Meredith the police officer clears his throat.
"I'm sorry but I really need her statement." To Meredith he says, "Hey Meredith, I know you're very scared but if you talk to me today than I can help get Finn put in jail for a very long time and he will never be able to hurt you again. Can you help me with that please?"
"It's okay. I'll be right here the whole time." Cristina says softly.
"Okay." Meredith whispers.
They slowly get everything that happened out of Meredith. She sobbed the entire time and was so scared. Cristina soothed her by stroking her hair and murmuring that she's got this.
They had just finished getting the story out of Meredith when Officer Swift's pager went off all of a sudden.
Meredith screamed in terror and started sobbing louder. "Cristina! What was that! I'm scared!" She tries to get out of bed but Cristina doesn't let her.
"It's okay! It's just his pager! You're okay! Shhh, you're okay. I've got you." Cristina says, soothing her traumatized friend.
Meredith continues to cry. Eventually she falls asleep in Cristina's arms.
