Achieving Goals-Chapter 15
Logan finished the day without any more incidents. He half expected Geoffery to stop by to apologize, but the more he thought about it, he was not the type of guy to apologize. He and Rory had to cancel lunch. That was okay with Rory. She had lots to do.
She received a call from Steph. She and Honor were planning their shopping trip. They both had heard about the interview with Tony Blair. Steph was telling her that Honor could not stop talking about Mitchum and how proud he was. Knowing Mitchum, he was taking credit for discovering her. Rory laughed at that. Logan told her that Mitchum was changing, but this was the first time she had someone else tell her about it.
Steph told her that Honor was scheduling the jet for the weekend. Rory had hoped that she and Logan could get a better bearing on London before they were invaded by their friends. Rory was sure to give Steph her mom's number so they could invite her.
At 5:00, Jon knocked on Logan's office door. With a muffled 'come in', Jon entered the office.
"Hey, boss, it is 5:00," Jon told him. Logan looked up from his laptop. "If you will indulge me for just a minute," Jon asked. Logan nodded his head. "You will have several late nights at the office. I know you are here for the summer, and will be back and forth for a while." Logan nodded. "I suggest you go home now. This is the first week, and I understand you have a girlfriend at home."
"You know, Jon, I think this is going to work out great," Logan told him. "Let me finish this last email and I will head out," Logan told him.
"Good, I will call a car for you," Jon told him.
On his way home, he called Rory.
"Ace, I am on my way home. Do you want to do food in, or would you like to go out tonight?" Logan asked. She told him she preferred to order in tonight. He told her to figure out what she wanted and he would see her soon.
The two of them stayed in and enjoyed telling and listening to the stories of the day. They sat and watched the news. This has become a habit for them.
"Ace, would you be interested in writing a few more articles for The Sun?" Logan asked her.
"Did Mr. Coswell call you?" She asked. She was hoping he would call her and not go through Logan.
"No, but my dad did. He wants me to offer you a job." Logan said. He paused to see her reaction. It was as he expected. "Wow, don't go there. I told him I would mention it to you, but if Coswell wants you, he would call."
"Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see." She told him. "But under no circumstances are you to ask him about it." She had the look on her face that he had learned not to question. He nodded.
After the news, she told Logan about the girls coming for a shopping trip this weekend.
"Steph called. I have not heard from Mom or Honor, but Steph said Honor was getting the jet." She told him.
"It is just Tuesday. Maybe they are giving us a chance to catch up before the call and start making plans." Logan told her. She nodded.
They enjoyed the rest of the night. They watched a couple of movies. Logan answered a couple of emails. Rory told him she needed to finish the last two chapters before going to bed. He told her he also needed to work for a little while.
This is the way the rest of the week continued. Thursday afternoon, Logan called Rory to tell her he would be working late, but he would pick her up at 7:00. She was told to be ready. He was taking her to dinner.
Rory had talked with her mom, Steph, and Honor on several occasions. The plan was for them to arrive on Friday. They would stay with Logan and Rory. They have the room. What Rory nor Logan knew was that Chris, Finn, Colin, and Josh were also coming.
Logan and Rory enjoyed the night out. They went for drinks, and then dinner. Logan topped the night off with the London eye. It was beautiful at night.
