Achieving Goals-Chapter 18
Saturday morning, Rory woke to noise in the kitchen. She slowly woke up. Yes, they have guests. She rolled over to find Logan's spot empty. Well, she guessed it was time to get up. She showered before emerging into the middle of what? What are they doing? She stopped at the door of the bedroom. Logan was sitting on the sofa. Looked like he was maybe judging a competition. Finn was sliding across the floor in nothing but his socks and boxers. Wow! Now here comes Colin. Oh boy.
"Logan?" she said. Logan turned around to see her standing in the doorway.
"Come join us, Ace," He told her. Colin and Finn both joined in. They wanted her to join them. She sat on the sofa next to Logan.
"Can you at least tell me what they are doing?" She asked. She was shaking her head. She wondered if they would ever grow up.
"Where is Steph?" she asked. Logan turned to her, then his face fell.
"She went out. Honor stopped by. They went shopping. She said she would be back before lunch." Logan told her. The look on her face told him everything he needed to know. "Ace, you were asleep. I told them not to wake you. I figured when you got up, you were going to the Gilmore Estate to help Lorelai with the dress fitting. I heard you talking about it last night." She just nodded her head.
She left the goofballs to finish up the competition. When she arrived at the Gilmore Estate, there were cars everywhere. She wondered what was going on. She rang the bell. When the maid answered, she told her she was here to her mother, Lorelai Gilmore, or her Grandparents Emily, Richard, or Francine. She was shown to one of the rooms upstairs. Lorelai was trying on her wedding dress..
"Rory, when did you get here?" Grammy Fran asked. Rory was standing in the door frame, watching her mom. She looked like a princess.
"I have been here for a few minutes. The maid sent me up.." Rory told her. She smiled at Rory and nodded her head.
"Wow, Mom, you look beautiful." She told her mom.. Before Lorelai could answer, Gigi came into the room.
"Ory, you are here. Aunt Orelai said you would be her later.." Gigi was having problems with her L's. It was cute.
"Well, I am here now," she told her. Picking her up. "Tell me about your dress for the wedding."
"We sisters," Gigi told Rory. Rory smiled at her. "We have a brother," she said. Rory started laughing. The look on Emily's face was priceless. Rory wasn't sure if she knew before now that Lorelai was pregnant or she just didn't think Gigi should tell the world.
While the seamstress finished up with Lorelai, Grammy Fran told her to follow her. She took her to another room that had a rack of dresses.
"I guess you know this is a quick wedding. Your mother promised Emily that she could throw her a reception when they returned from their honeymoon." Franny told her. Rory nodded her head.
"These are the dresses you have to pick from. Lorelai will be here in a few minutes. Pick out a few you think you would like to try on and then we can get the seamstress started on your dress. It will be you and Gigi standing up with them." Grammy Fran told her.
"Dad's not having a best man?" She asked. Grammy Fran shook her head. "I am sure Logan would be happy to stand up with him as best man."
"That is a good idea." Grammy Fran told her. "Why don't you mention it to him when he gets back?"
"Where is he?" she asked.
"He and your grandpa went somewhere. Who knows?" Grammy Fran started laughing. "They may be working on the prenup." She couldn't help herself. They both were laughing.
It wasn't long before Rory got a call from Honor wanting to know if it was okay to stop by the Gilmore estate. Rory checked with Emily and told them to come on.
When they got there, they apologized to Rory for not waking her this morning.
"Logan told me not to wake you." Stephanie told her. "He said you were coming over here to help your mom, but we have got to show you what we found."
The three of them, then Lorelai and Gigi, joined them, looking at the dresses and shoes that Honor and Steph bought.
"Lorelai, you and Rory have got to come with us before the wedding. I saw the perfect shoes. They will be my gift to you." Honor told her.
"What about a hen party?" Steph asked. Rory and Lorelai both looked at her. 'Bachelorette Party."
"Hell, yeah." Lorelai told them. "Let's plan this thing." They all grabbed phones and tablets to make notes. Gigi asked questions, but was really too young to understand..
Rory and Steph went back to the apartment to get ready for supper. It will be at the Gilmore Estate tonight.
