Achieving Goals-Chapter 21

When Logan got to the apartment, he was in a good mood. Chris and Rory had both called to tell him that he was to take Chris out to eat, while the girl had Lorelai a bachelorette party at the Morgan. Logan called Mitchum, Jerry and Richard. Mitchum suggested taking him to The Groucho Club. He told Logan he would call and reserve a private room with a smoking terrace so they can enjoy a good cigar.

"Ace, are you still here?" Logan called out. He was standing at the front door.

"In the bedroom" He heard her say. He walked in as she was closing her overnight bag. He kissed her and asked how long she had before she had to leave. She laughed and told him not that long.

"I didn't mean that, but I won't turn it down." He told her. They both were laughing. "I wanted to tell you about Geoffrey."

"What has he done now?" she asked, rolling her eyes. Logan had been telling her of his adventures with Geoffrey.

"Well, when we got back from lunch, he was on the executive floor. He was following Mithcum to his office. I did an about face and followed them. He told Mitchum that I was who he had to talk to him about. Then he introduced me to my dad." Logan told her. He was trying to hold back a laugh, she couldn't. She went from giggling to full on laughing.

"I told him that if he was meeting about me, I wanted to be in on the meeting. He didn't like that, but dad told him it would be okay." Logan paused while he removed his undershirt and slipped on a polo.

"Once in the meeting, Geoffrey proceeded to tell Dad how was always leaving for meetings. He put air quotes around it. He told him that he wasn't sure where he was going, but he had a feeling it had to do with his girlfriend Ace." Logan said. Rory's mouth was open. She couldn't believe he called her Ace.

"What did Mitchum say?" Rory asked. Logan walked out of the closet with his shoes in his hand.

"Dad didn't say anything. He just sat there and let him talk." Logan told her. "When it looked like he was finished, Dad asked him if there was anything else. He started talking about my lack of ideas and input. At this point I was ready to jump in. I started to say something but Dad shook his head, so I waited. After a few more lies, he told dad he was finished."

"Dad looked at me and asked me if I had anything to say?" I nodded my head and stood up. I told him that although I have been attending a lot of meetings, I had yet to fail at turning in a report or research. As far as ideas, I told him I have all the ideas I submitted on my computer. Geoffry tried to interrupt, but Mitchum told him it was my turn to talk." Logan said as he and Rory were walking into the living room. They both were attending the bachelor and bachelorette parties and needed to be leaving soon.

"When I finished, Mitchum just sat there for a few minutes taking notes. He then asked if either one of us had anything else to add. Geoffrey told him no. I had been pacing while talking and found myself at the conference table behind Mitchum. So, I did the only thing I could. I said 'No, I really can't think of anything else to tell you, Dad.'" Rory and Logan both were laughing.

"You called him Dad in front of Geoffrey?" Rory asked. Logan nodded.

"I wish I could have had a camera on him. His face was white as a sheet." Logan told her. Her phone had pinged while they were walking out of the bedroom.

"I want to hear the rest, but my car is here." Rory told him. He laughed and told her so was his. They walked down to the lobby together.

When Rory arrived at the Morgan, she was shown one of the presidential suites. She had spent most of the afternoon arranging spa treatments in the suite. This was harder than she thought. She had to throw a few names around. Well not a few, just Finn's. That got the ball rolling.

She wasn't there very long, before Lorelai and Emily arrived. Emily promised to stay for a Mani and Pedi, then she would leave the younger generation to it. Stephanie showed up, as well as Honor. The boys went back to the states. They would be returning for the wedding.

When Logan got in the car, he instructed the driver to pick up Mitchum, then Richard and Chris. When they arrived at the club, they were ushered to a private dining room with a terrace. They enjoyed a steak dinner, then enjoyed conac and a well flavored cigar.

After Emily left, the girls played some games and watched movies. After a while, everyone was asleep with the exception of Lorelai and Rory.

"Mom, I am glad everyone is asleep. I want to talk with you and just enjoy this time together." Rory told her.

"Hey, just because I am getting married, does not mean you and I will not be close. You know you can tell me anything." Lorelai said

"I just want to make sure you are happy….. Are you happy?" Rory asked. Lorelia smiled at her and nodded her head.

After the break up with Luke, Rory had been worried about her mom. She was afraid her dad was just a rebound, but Lorelia assured her that was not it. She told her she needed someone that could share her life with her. Luke was not willing to share his life.
