Arriving as quick as they could to the residence Gennai had made his home, Davis opened the door to allow Kari, Veemon and Gatomon inside, before the four saw Tai, Sora, Matt, Mimi, Izzy, Joe, TK, Ken, Cody, Yolei and their partners had arrived before them.
And there was some surprise amongst Davis and Kari to see Jun and Renamon amongst the group, the maroon haired girl having some experiences in protecting the Digital World, but nothing as intense as the events they had faced off in the past.
Also joining the Odaiba Digidestined was Catherine Deneuve and her partner, Floramon, who had taken a side by TK and Patamon.
For the past two years, TK and the French Digidestined had been dating, ever since the Digidestined of Hope returned to France for a visit and ran back into Catherine, the pair quickly hit it off, much to the joy of their friends, where the French Digidestined and her partner would often come and join the Digidestined teams in their patrols of the Digital World, and would spend enjoy their time with TK and Patamon.
Tai then walked towards Davis and Kari, where the older Kamiya gave his sister a comforting hug as he said in relief. "I am so glad you are okay, Kari, I was worried about you. When I heard the Digital World was under attack, I was afraid you two were in trouble."
"I'm okay, Tai, thank you for worrying about us." Kari said as she hugged her brother back, while Tai looked over her shoulder and nodded to Davis, who smiled back in reply.
"Now that you four are here..." Gennai then said, getting everyone's attention as he then looked to Davis, Kari and their partners and suggested. "Perhaps you can explain what it was you encountered."
Nodding in reply, Davis, Kari, Veemon and Gatomon explained their encounter, going into details on what they saw with ShadowBlademon, as well as his physical description.
"Strange, I have never heard of a Digimon like that before." Gennai said in confusion when he heard the name.
Hearing the description of the new Digimon, however, it was Catherine who's eyes widened, remembering having heard something similar in her past.
"Wait, I think I might have something!" The French Digidestined then informed, Catherine's call immediately getting everyone's attention.
"I will return in a moment." She went on to say, hurrying off, alongside Floramon, which perplexed the Digidestined as they then watched as Catherine and Floramon ran to a nearby monitor.
"Digi-port open!" Catherine announced, creating a portal between the two realities and allowing the blonde to return back to the Real World, Catheirne's sudden absence leaving the group even more bewildered.
Nearly ten minutes later, the screen lit up again, where the French Digidestined and Floramon returned, this time the French Digidestined held a massive, ancient book in her arms.
"I knew I had seen that description of the enemy before." Catheirne commented as she set the book down upon her lap and began flipping through the pages, allowing Davis, Kari and the others to take in the various imagery, before seeing a familiar figure upon the pages once Catherine came to a halt.
"Check this out, is this the one who attacked you?" Catherine asked, showing that upon the page was a drawing of an old battle, and past the bloodshed upon the image, a warrior dressed in an outfit similar to ShadowBlademon was clearly seen, surprising the Digidestined, especially Davis, Kari and their partners.
"Wait, Catherine, what is this?" TK then asked, having seen the book in the library of the French Digidestined's home before, but never asked what it was a book on.
"This book tells the history of my ancestors." Catherine said in reply, informing her boyfriend and the others. "The Denerve history extends back a very long way, even my blood holds royalty."
"I remember seeing what looks like ShadowBlademon here in this old story, one of an old, magical kingdom that once existed long ago. The legend speaks of the kingdom, which fell by the leader of the dark army, whose name was apparently erased from history. This dark general sought the great powers within the kingdom's princess for himself. But as the kingdom fell into ruin by the hand of the dark forces, the princess' gallant knight confronted this foe, and... oh dear." Catherine then said as she turned the page, seeing another drawn image, this one of the princess and her knight, where everyone circled around her, their eyes widening to see the image as well.
Looking at the pair, the princess had a striking resemblance to Kari, while her knight bore Davis' face, astonishing the Digidestined.
"Is… is that Kari and Davis?" Yolei questioned in shock upon seeing the image of the pair resembling Davis and Kari, this was reflected within Tai, Agumon and the other Digimon and Digidestined.
However, the pair then started to feel the pain return to their heads, before both gripped their heads and cried out as new images of their pasts flashed before their eyes.

.
It was midday in the kingdom as a young boy, Daisuke, was making his way into the marketplace in order to pick up some food and supplies while his father, the kingdom's blacksmith, continued to work on orders for the King.
"Let's have a look. I think that's everything pops asked me to grab, now I should head bac... " Daisuke began to say, the maroon haired boy speaking his mind, only to stop when he noticed a stunning sight within the corner of his eye.
Turning his head, the young boy saw two men making their way through an alley, with one of the men carrying a sack over his shoulder.
Though nothing seemed too shady, Daisuke noticed something strange about the sack resting over the individual's shoulder, particularly how it seemed to move and squirm, like something, or someone, was inside of it.
Daisuke then dropped the bags he was carrying, the ones full of the items his Dad asked to get him, as he grabbed the wooden sword he was carrying out of its sheath and rushed to follow the suspicious individuals.
'Sorry pops, but I have a bad feeling...' Daisuke thought as he followed the two men, when he heard one of them talk to the other.
"They will have to pay us big if they want his daughter back alive!" The first man, now a kidnapper, said, while the other man nodded in agreement with his partner.
Hearing what the men just said, Daisuke tightened his grip on the handle of his wooden sword in anger and, without thinking, rushed at the two men.
"HEY! STOP RIGHT THERE!" He yelled, grabbing the attention of the kidnappers as he leapt up and attacked.
Smacking the head of the one holding the sack and causing him to drop it, Daisuke moved before the sack and quickly opened it in order to see who exactly was trapped within.
"Are you alright...?" The boy was about to ask as he opened the sack, before his eyes met the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen in his life looking back at him, accompanied by a beautiful face, belonging to the most beautiful girl he had ever gazed upon.
Meanwhile, said girl, who was afraid one of her kidnappers had opened the bag, looked up to the most handsome face she had ever seen, her cheeks gaining a small red hue as she stared in awe at the boy before her.
"Don't worry, I'm here to save you." Daisuke informed with a gentle and caring voice as he got up and turned to face the kidnappers, who drew a set of knives out from the sudden intrusion in their plans.
"Stay here. You'll be safe while I handle them." The maroon haired boy told the brunette with a continued trust in his voice as he started to walk toward them, showing no fear as the two men approached him, while the young girl saw the boy as a knight protecting her from evil, and prayed that he would be unharmed.
Lunging forward, Daisuke swung his wooden sword with great force, his actions blocking the attack from one of the kidnapper's knives.
Keeping up his defenses against the of his attackers, and seeing the other coming toward his face, much to the surprise of the kidnappers, as well as the young girl, Daisuke not only avoided the strike as he swept to the side, but he quickly spun around and slammed the hit of the wooden sword into his attacker's cheek, sending him crashing into his partner as both stumbled and crashed into the ground.
"Get off of me! Are you going to let a little runt make a fool out of us?!" The first kidnapper questioned as he pushed his partner off of him, before the duo rushed at Daisuke with a growing fury, the pair wishing to vent their anger and frustration out on him.
However, showing off the few years of personal training he had done for himself, using the weapons his father made for practice, Daisuke easily avoided each attempt by the criminals' knives, before swinging his wooden sword against one of the kidnappers, smacking his head and causing him to slam his face into a brick wall, where he fell to the ground unconscious, much to his partner's anger.
With rage-filled eyes, the second kidnapper lunged at Daisuke, his blade raised as he prepared to finish the boy off.
But keeping up in his pace, Daisuke swept underneath the attacker, turned his blade around and slammed the hilt into the kidnapper's stomach, knocking the wind right out of him.
Unable to maintain himself after such a blow, the second kidnapper fell before Daisuke, who, after withdrawing his blade back into the hilt set upon his belt, returned to the young brunette with haste.
Keeping a stunned silence, faint blush growing as the boy returned before her, the brunette found herself at a loss for words at the continued care which the maroon haired boy showed toward her.
Extending his right hand out and offering to help return her to her feet, the unknown boy found himself asking with a further protectiveness. "Hey, are you okay miss? They didn't hurt you, did they?"
But before the girl could reply, Daisuke saw terror within the brunette's eyes as she looked over his shoulder, which was followed by a sudden surge of pain through his shoulder.
Pushing past the pain, Daisuke looked to see a knife now embedded within his flesh, to see the first thug had faked his unconsciousness and had his hand gripping tightly around the handle of his dagger, which he pressed into the young boy's skin.
Wincing from the pain, Daisuke was then kicked aside and before the girl's feet and filled with further pain as the attacker gave the dagger a fair twist as he pulled it out of his shoulder.
"You've caused enough problems, now die, you brat!" The kidnapper yelled furiously as he brought his knife up and looked ready to finish Daisuke off.
Despite the danger she could see he was in, looking the boy over and looking at his expression, the brunette could see the boy held fear, but it remained out of his worry for her.
It seemed that even though he didn't know her, that they had only met, this mystery person was ready to give his life to keep her safe from harm.
Before the lethal blow could be delivered, it appeared fate smiled upon the maroon haired boy as a pair of knights suddenly grabbed and restrained the thug.
Slamming the thug against the wall, an action applied to his accomplice, a faction of the royal guard rushed into the alleyway.
Binding the kidnapper's hands in chains and dragging the men off to a rusty prison cell, relief filled Daisuke, who was appreciative that the king's knights had managed to overcome their peril.
And watching on as the cute brown haired girl came up to check on him only caused his smile to grow.
It was then the maroon haired boy saw a familiar face, one he admired from afar for most of his life, the young leader of the captain's guard, and the crown prince of the lands, Taichi, who walked towards the kidnappers.
The older brunette then spared a glance at Daisuke and the girl, seemingly pleased to see her alright, while silently thanking the unknown boy, before he looked to the two criminals with disdain.
"You two are under arrest for attempted kidnapping of the princess, I hope you enjoy the prison food." He commented, his words causing Daisuke's eyes to widen as he slowly turned to look at the brunette and now realized who this was, that this was Princess Hikari.
"Wait, you're the princess?!" Daisuke could only say his tone breaking and expressing awe and bewilderment.
A little embarrassed to be addressed by her title, Hikari nodded silently in reply, the brunette finding life as a Princess left her with an unwanted advantage in life and caused her to often sneak out and to rebel against her brother.
"As for you..." Daisuke and Hikari heard Taichi then say, the older brunette approaching Daisuke, where he told him with a trusting smile. "On behalf of the knight's court and his majesty, I thank you for aiding our Princess Hikari during her endeavor."
"You are most welcome. I am always there to help out anyone in trouble." Daisuke said in reply, his modesty causing Taichi to smile.
However, the positive atmosphere suddenly changed as Daisuke gripped his shoulder, the pain from the blade greater than expected as his shoulder dripped with blood.
"This isn't good. Your body has sustained more damage than it appears." Taichi said with concern, the knight examining Daisuke's shoulder, then looking toward the blade of the thugs, thinking aloud. "Perhaps this blade had Venabouta blood coated upon it?"
Though the blood of the Venabouta, a native snake, wasn't as lethal as the blood and venoms as other reptilian predators, Taichi knew that without quick treatment, then the wound would turn infectious, the worst case scenario leading to permanent nerve damage in his arm.
About to speak, to put on a brave front as to not concern Taichi, the pain within his shoulder began to lessen.
Turning his head, Daisuke looked over where he noticed a faint pink light emanating from Hikari's hands, this not only a surprise to Daisuke, but it also astonished and left Taichi in awe.
Although this phenomenon was a mystery to Daisuke, Taichi knew full well of the unique power his sister held within her, a great power she had been born with which allowed Hikari to treat great injuries with her light.
Despite the power draining and removing the poison from Daisuke's body and repairing the scarred tissue around his shoulder, the Princess had yet to master healing power, which left the brunette a little dazed and tired.
"Hikari, you need to stop, you haven't mastered your full power yet." Taichi said with concern as he noticed the strain upon Hikari's being.
"I know... but I cannot do anything as he suffers..." Hikari said as she looked to Daisuke, seeing a faint scar form itself in place of his wound, a lasting reminder of his heroic deeds.
Tending to Daisuke as best she could, the Princess then looked to her brother and demanded. "Brother... I want him to be my knight..."
Both Taichi and Daisuke, as well as all the knights present, looked at the princess with shock and awe, with Daisuke in awe at the prospect of finally living out his dream of becoming a knight, before noticing the concerned look on the older brunette's face.
"Hikari, he's not of noble birth, we can't just..." The older knight started to say, not wanting to upset his sister anymore.
"Please, brother..." Hikari then said, crouching before the older brunette and expressing her continued pleas. "I... I owe him my life..."
Looking upon Hikari, to see the strong emotion in her eyes, Taichi sighed in defeat.
"Very well. We shall see what father has to say on the subject." Taichi replied, returning a caring smile toward his sibling and to her the young boy who saved her.
"But if the king says yes, he will need to train in order to be your knight, do you understand that?" The older brunette questioned, this not only getting an eager nod from his sister, but from the boy as well, who held a fiery determination within his eyes he otten saw in the best of his knights, this causing Taichi to smile as he turned and began to walk out of the alley.
"Come on!" Hikari then said happily as she took Daisuke's hand and pulled him along with her, his hand on his causing the maroon haired boy to blush as he watched the girl before him in awe, not realizing she held the same blush upon her face as well.
'She is amazing...' Daisuke thought, knowing that no matter what, he would do anything to protect her.
Through all the excitement of the chase and their meeting, Hikari came to a halt, the brunette facing Daisuke and asking shyly. "Might I ask your name? Through everything which occurred, I never got to learn the name of the noble soul who saved me."
"My name is Daisuke Motomiya, your majesty." Daisuke said as he bowed to Hikari in respect.
'Daisuke...' Hikari thought dreamily, the brunette admitting to herself that though her hero was not of noble blood, she could see his bravery, his kindness and his selflessness.
And she had to admit, he was kind of cute.

"Davis/Kari!"
Hearing their names called, the Digidestined of Miracles and of Light quickly shot up, the pair rubbing their heads from what they had experienced, and how real it felt.
Looking to their sides, they saw that Veemon and Gatomon were overcome with concern, before the feline Digimon questioned. "Did you have another dream?"
The Digidestined of Light nodded in reply to Gatomon's questioning, which left Davis confused when he heard what Gatomon said, before he turned to look at Kari and found he too asking. "Wait, did you dream about Daisuke and Princess Hikari?"
Surprised to Davis' question, and to knowing he too was experiencing the same dreams as her, Kari nodded in reply, confusing the Digidestined, while Davis and Kari knew there was far more to their latest dream.
"I'm glad to know you are alright. You had us worried for a moment." Gennai remarked.
"So wait... are Davis and Kari somehow related to these two?" Sora asked in confusion, her confusion shared amongst her partner and the others.
"It is possible the dreams Davis and Kari have been experiencing are actually memories of their past lives." Izzy theorized, the Digidestined of Knowledge finding the situation fascinating, but he too knew of the shared conflict within Davis and Kari.
Sighing, Davis looked amongst Gennai and his friends, telling everyone. "I don't know how long Kari has been having these dreams, but for me I've been having various dreams about that knight and princess for five nights in a row."
"I have been having them for about the same time as well." Kari informed in reply, the Digidestined of Light remaining puzzled and a little worried about the dreams of her supposed past life, but felt some comfort as Davis rested his hand on her back.
Thou troubled by this development, Tai then looked to Catherine and asked. "So... what exactly happened to this kingdom and these two?"
Turning through her book and coming to the end pages, Catherine's expression showed gloom, the French Digidestined displaying the pages to the Digidestined and their partners, showing amongst the imagery, one drawn image depicted the kingdom in flames.
"The kingdom was attacked by a dark army, led by a traitor to the kingdom, whose name was erased from history. Those exiled from the kingdom supposedly made a dark contract with a wicked being and gained dark powers, which they used to overthrow the kingdom's rule. The traitor went after the princess in the hopes of offering her and her power as a sacrifice to the dark entity which gave him his strength."
Looking at the page and seeing the images, Davis was left in shock when he saw the image of the leader.
"T... that... that's him... I saw him in my dream." The maroon haired Digidestined managed to say, a dark chill filling his body to the image.
"He was in a battle against the knight and the princess, and was ready to finish them off." Davis added as he tried to compose himself, but found he couldn't go any further into detail.
Surprised, Catherine then continued the tale as she then told her friends. "Supposedly, as her knight protected her, even costing him his life, the princess refused to allow the one she loved so much to die without her, so she willingly sacrificed herself. The traitor then struck them both down, but in their last act, the two casted a spell, which trapped the dark forces in a tablet, a prison they were meant to be trapped within for all eternity."
The mood feeling dark, everyone then jumped as Mimi let out a squeal, gushing as she then said with joy. "Past lovers finding each other again in a new life, it's just so romantic."
The comment caused most to sigh at Mimi's antics, while Davis and Kari blushed in response to Mimi's words.
But remaining focused, Izzy, who remained typing on his laptop, overcame some information he believed was linked to their situation and would help his friends.
"Everyone, I found something. Check this out." Izzy called out as he turned and displayed his laptop's monitor, showing his friends and the Digimon that passed the screensaver of one of their more recent photos together, there was a whole news article explaining about a strange power emitted from an ancient tablet.
"It says here the scientists and their team found an old stone tablet in Europe. When they scanned the tablet, it caused a sudden phenomenon that caused many of their computers to short circuit." Tentomon read aloud, the Digimon of Knowledge facing Catherine and questioning. "Could this be related to the tablet you mentioned before, Catherine?"
Examining the image carefully, there was no doubt in Catherine's mind that this artifact was the very same from the legends, this causing the blonde to then nod in reply.
"So wait..." Tai then said as the Digidestined of Courage continued and questioned. "You think these guys scanned that tablet and these 'dark forces' were somehow sucked into the Digital World and remade as Digimon?"
"It is possible the dark remains within that tablet reformed itself in order to carry out its assignments." Ken theorized, before simplifying. "It'd be like copying data from an old computer to a newer model."
"Only we're dealing with ancient and evil spirits that want to destroy our friends." Yolei replied with sarcasm in her voice.
"You can get under my skin, Squirt, but you'd better believe I won't let some jerk with unresolved issues hurt you!" Jun declared, the maroon haired girl expressing the inherited Motomiya bravery, which brought a smile to Davis and the others.

.
Meanwhile, deep within the dark halls which the resurrected evils of the past had transformed into their fortress, ShadowBlademon knelt before his ruler, a being who now called himself ShadowLordmon, who sat upon a throne as he looked upon his servant.
"My Lord, I have found their location." ShadowBlademon said, before informing his superior. "A house hidden within the forests, there are other humans, and more of these... Digimon creatures, with them."
"Excellent work, ShadowBlademon. Gather some of the men, go to that house and burn it to the ground. But make sure the Princess and her Knight survive. I have a score that remains unsettled between them." ShadowLordmon ordered his servant, causing ShadowBlademon to nod as he stood up and turned to leave the throne room.
Nearby, the dark leader's advisor, LadyLichmon, walked from the shadows and moved beside ShadowLordmon, where the dark witch then asked. "My Lord, do you wish for me to get DeathKnightmon and DeathShogunmon ready if that fool fails to complete his mission?"
Crossing his hands together, ShadowLordmon narrowed his eyes as his mind brought up the two individuals in question as he put their new names to their new forms, where the dark leader replied with a nod. "Do it."
LadyLichmon nodded in reply, before she bowed to her leader and turned around to make her leave from the throne room.
Keeping his fingers together, the dark being that was ShadowLordmon smiled wickedly as he imagined his vengeance, while nearby, within the pit, something smiled as it took in the darkness within its champion's heart.
