Peggy's POV
I walk into the Colonel's tent as he is making a report about what happened with Steve and Morgan. "Senator Brandt, I regret to report that Captain Steven G. Rogers and Morgan T. Bailey went missing behind enemy lines on the third. Aerial reconnaissance has proven unfruitful. As a result, I must declare Captain Rogers and Captain Bailey killed in action. Period." He says
I regret to believe that she is dead. That they are dead. I have faith in them and I just know that they are coming back. She can't just leave me feeling this way and leave.
"The last surveillance flight is back. No sign of activity." I told the Colonel as I handed him the paper.
"Go get a cup of coffee, Corporal." He tells his assistant. "I can't touch Stark. He's rich and he's the Army's number one weapons contractor. You are neither one." He says, basically telling me I am expendable.
"With respect, sir, I don't regret my actions. And I don't think Captain Rogers nor Captain Bailey did either." I say, sounding confident.
"What makes you think I give a damn about your opinions? I took a chance with you, Agent Carter. And now America's golden duo and a lot of other good men are dead, cause you had a crush." he yells at me.
"It wasn't that. I had faith." I try to tell him.
"Well, I hope that's a big comfort to you when they shut this division down. What the hell's going on out there?" He says as soldiers start to run towards a group of people.
Walking towards camp is the group of missing soldiers being led by Morgan and Steve. I can't help the smile on my face knowing that they are okay.
The group makes their way to stand in front of the Colonel and Morgan and Steve salutes him. "Some of these men need medical attention. I'd like to surrender myself for disciplinary action." Morgan says while looking at Phillips.
"That won't be necessary." Knowing that he can't really punish them after they saved over a hundred men. He walks away and stops near me "Faith, huh?" he tells me and walks off.
"You're late," I say to Morgan as I walk over to her.
She pulls out the transponder we gave them, "Couldn't call my ride." We stare at each other for a while as the soldiers start yelling.
"Hey! Let's hear it for Captain America and Captain Dream." The men start cheering for them and they make a circle around us as we keep staring at each other.
Morgan's POV
"The fifth one was here in Poland, right near the Baltic. And the sixth one was… about here, 30, 40 miles west of the Maginot Line. I just got a quick look." I marked on the map all the spots I saw while looking at Hydras map when we reduced Bucky.
"Well, nobody's perfect." Peggy jokes as we make our way over to Phillip.
"These are the weapon factories we know about. Sergeant Barnes said that Hydra shipped all the parts to another facility that isn't on this map." Steve tells them as we look at the map on the table.
"Agent Carter, coordinate with MI6. I want every Allied eyeball looking for that main Hydra base." Phillip orders.
"What about us?" Peggy asks knowing we just can't sit around.
"We are gonna set a fire under Johann Schmidt's ass. What do you say, Rogers, Bailey? It's your map, you think you can wipe Hydra off of it?" Phillip asks us.
"Yes, sir. We'll need a team." Steve answered.
"We're already putting together the best men," Phillips responds.
"With all due respect, sir. So are we." I say.
Steve and I got to the bar that the soldiers are at so that we can recruit them to join us in taking down Hydra. They were captured by him and I know if given a chance they will want to get rid of the whole organization.
"So, let's get this straight." Dum Dum Dugan says. It seems that they may need a little convincing in coming with us.
"We barely got out of there alive, and you want us to go back?" Jones asks us as we are sitting in the bar.
"Pretty much," I tell them bluntly.
"Sounds rather fun, actually." Falsworth, one of the soldiers, say.
"I'm in," Morita says with a belch.
Dernier, the French soldier, starts speaking and most of the people at the table cant understand. Jones joins him in talking french and everyone at the table looks at them confused then Jones says "We're in." as him and Dernier laugh and shake hands.
"Hell, I'll always fight. But you got to do one thing for me." Dum Dum says as he finishes his beer.
"What's that?" I ask.
"Open a tab." the guys around the table laugh and Steve gets up and goes to the bar and gets more beers.
I see Bucky sitting alone so I go and talk to him. "How about you? You ready to follow Captain America and I into the jaws of death?"
"Hell, no. That little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. And the girl who never gives up. I'm following them. But you're keeping the outfit, right?" he laughs.
"You know what? It's kind of growing on me." I say looking at the poster that shows our tour is canceled until further notice.
All of a sudden the guys stop singing so I follow their line of sight and I see Peggy walk into the bar in the sexiest dress I have ever seen. It's a red tight dress and shows a bit of her cleavage.
"Agent Carter," I say as she walks up to me.
"Howard has some equipment for you and Steve to try. Tomorrow morning?" She tells me
"Sounds good," I tell her as I look at her body. I really can't stop looking at her. This is the most dressed-down I have seen her and it's really doing something to me.
"I see your top squad is prepping for duty." She says as she looks around the bar.
"You don't like music?" Bucky asks.
" I do, actually. I might even, when this is all over, go dancing." She says staring me in the eyes the whole time.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Bucky tries to flirt with her.
"The right partner. 0800, Captain." She tells me still looking in my eyes.
"Yes, ma'am. I'll be there." I say looking at her as she walks away.
"I'm invisible. I'm…I'm turning into you and Steve. It's like some horrible dream." Bucky says referring to Peggy rejecting him.
I go into Starks building waiting to see him about the equipment he has for me and Steve. "Excuse me. I'm looking for Mr. Stark." I say to the lady at the desk. I think her name is Lorraine.
"He's in with Colonel Phillips. Of course, you're welcome to wait." She says so I sit on the desk nearby. "I read about what you did." she holds up the newspaper that talks about the soldiers we saved.
"Oh! The…yeah! Well, that's you know? Just doin' what needed to be done." I tell her, trying to explain, not used to being noticed for the things I do.
"Sounded like more than that. You saved nearly four hundred men." She says as she puts the newspaper down. We stare at each other for a bit. I can feel the same energy off of her that I felt off of Peggy and the nurses.
"Really, it's not a big deal." I try to explain.
"Tell that to their wives." She says as she walks up to me.
"Uh…I don't think they were all married." I say, blushing, as she gets closer
"You're a hero." Said Lorraine as she is now standing in front of me.
"Well, that…you know? That…that depends on the definition of it really." I say getting nervous as she grabs me by the tie that I was wearing.
"The women of America, they owe you their thanks. And uh…seeing as they're not here." She starts to say as she drags us behind a shelf and pulls me down to kiss her. As we kiss I feel a surge of energy come off of her and it makes me feel 100x better than I have ever felt before.
I feel my eyes change again and I can't help but to wrap my hands around her and pull her closer to me. I feel myself getting energized but before it gets too much we are interrupted.
"Captain!" I hear Peggy yell, causing me and Lorraine to jump apart. "We're ready for you. If you're not otherwise occupied." She says as she walks away, annoyed.
"Agent Carter, wait," I tell her as I catch up to her.
"Looks like finding someone like you wasn't so hard after all," She says referring to the conversation we had before I was changed into a SuperSoldier.
"Peggy, that's not what you thought it was." I try to explain to her.
"I don't think anything, Captain. Not one thing. You always wanted to be a soldier and now you are. Just like all the rest." She says with an attitude.
"Well, what about you and Stark? How do I know you two haven't been... fonduing?" I say, still feeling a little jealous of the situation.
"You still don't know a bloody thing about women!" She yells as she walks away.
"Fondue is just cheese and bread, my friend," Stark tells me after I asked him about Peggy. Steve, Stark, and I are walking into his lab so he can show us the equipment he has for us.
"Really? I didn't think..." I start to say before Stark interrupts.
"Nor should you, pal. The moment you think you know what's goin' on in a woman's head, it's the moment your goose is well and truly cooked. Me, I concentrate on work. Which at the moment is about making sure you and your men do not get killed." He explains, confusing me more about women. "Carbon polymer. Should withstand your average German bayonet. Although Hydra's not going to attack you with a pocket knife." He shows us a cloth on his table. "I hear you're uh... kinda attached?" He points to Steve's shield and my swords and daggers, all of which are worn out because of the fighting we did.
"It's handier than you might think," Steve says.
"Especially these daggers come in handy when you most need them," I add on.
"I took the liberty of coming up with some options. This one's fun. She's been fitted with electrical relays. It'll allow you to..." He shows Steve some options for shields but he wasn't really feeling any of them until he picks up one from under the desk.
"What about this one?" He says as he holds up the shield.
"No! No! That's just a prototype." Stark explains
"What's it made of?" Steve asks Stark.
"Vibranium. It's stronger than steel and a third of the weight. It's completely vibration absorbent." I take the shield from Steve and I see that it is lighter than Steves previous one.
"How come it's not a standard-issue?" I ask Stark.
"That's the rarest metal on earth. What you're holding there and the little we have in the back? That's all we've got." He tells us.
"You quite finished, Mr. Stark? I'm sure the Captain has some unfinished business." Peggy walks in, still angry about earlier.
"What do you think?" I say as I hold up the shield. Peggy then picks up one of the guns off of the table and shoots at me causing me to use the shield as protection. I look at her like she is crazy but she doesn't seem fazed.
"Yes. I think it works." She says and walks away.
"We had some ideas about the uniform," Steve says trying to change the subject off of what just happened. While I just stare at Peggy as she walks away, the energy that I used to feel of her is no longer present and I do not like it.
"Whatever you want, pal," Stark said.
"Well then if Steve gets a new shield I want some new Swords and Daggers," I tell Stark once I can no longer see Peggy.
