Chapter 6: Gaining knowledge

Izumi Koushiro was a nine-year-old boy with spiky red hair. He was waiting for Bill, the Pokémon Maniac and inventor of the Pokémon Storage System. The reason Koushiro was waiting for the famous PokéManiac, was because he had just contacted him earlier, wanting help from his computer expertise.

Koushiro was very eager to talk to the young man, as he had been interested in the Pokémon Storage System for a while and had actually been studying it.
Koshiro had been very interested in the Pokémon Storage System and wanted to learn how exactly it worked, as he was fascinated by computers and technology and was always eager to gain new knowledge. Being able to talk with the actual inventor of the Pokémon Storage System, which allowed trainers to store their Pokémon inside a computer, was a chance that he probably wouldn't get too often.

He wondered what Bill could actually want from him?

He said he needed his computer expertise. If there was something that Koushiro could help Bill with, that involved computers or anything like that, he was more than happy to do so.
Koushiro looked at the Ledyba next to him. It wasn't his Pokémon, as he was still too young to be a trainer, - probably a wild one - but it fascinated the young boy.
It looked a little bit different from the usual Ledybas. There were these color variants that were called Shiny, but normally a shiny Ledyba was a bit lighter in color and its wings were more orange instead of red. But this one next to him was still red, but a different kind of red.
The color changes weren't extreme so that some people might not even notice it, but as Koushiro had an eye for details of course he had realized it immediately.
The Pokémon was looking at Koushiro as if it was just as fascinated by the boy, as he was of it.

"You must be Izumi Koushiro. I am Bill. Nice to meet you," Bill said as he arrived.
Koushiro stood up to greet the young man: "It's nice to meet you too Mr. Bill."

"Oh, please just call me Bill," said Bill.

Koushiro nodded and added: "It's really an honor to talk to you. I'm really interested in the Pokémon Storage System and fascinated by it and I have so many questions. Oh, and of course, I hope that I can help you. It's true, I'm very interested in computers and technology and all kinds of other stuff, but I wouldn't call myself a genius. But of course, I will try my best to help you and if I can learn something new ..." Koushiro stopped and then said: "Oh, sorry, I got carried away. It's just, I love gaining new knowledge."

Bill laughed. "Then we have something in common," he said.
The inquisitive boy reminded him a lot of himself. Bill was also always eager to learn something new - in his case, especially when it came to Pokémon.
Those creatures that lived in their world just fascinated him.
Koushiro smiled. He was relieved as he heard Bill say that.

"So, I'll get right to the topic, because I actually have a problem, and Professor Oak thought you might be able to help me. Afterward, I'll try to answer all your questions about the Pokémon Storage System as best as I can," Bill told Koushiro.
Koushiro nodded and listened carefully as Bill told him why he was here and what the problem was.

He wasn't sure if he should be shocked or fascinated.
Of course, it was shocking to hear that a young trainer had been sucked into the PC, after storing his Pokémon there, but the young redhead couldn't help and be fascinated by it.

After Bill had finished his story Koushiro fell silent for a while, as he was deep in thought, trying to recap the situation in his head with everything that Bill told him and trying to find a solution.
Bill didn't say anything as he could see that the young boy was in thought and he didn't want to interrupt him.

"You said that something inside the trainer's pocket started glowing before the computer started to emit a light, right?" Koushiro wanted to know.

As Bill nodded, Koushiro pulled something out of his pocket, which was the same device that Taichi had found in the forest, and asked: "Was it this?"
Bill looked at the device. He had never seen anything like it before.
"I don't know, I've actually never seen what was inside Taichi's pocket, but it could be. What is it?" Bill wanted to know.
"I'm actually not too sure yet," Koushiro answered him honestly. "It came down from the sky like a comet earlier when that strange aurora phenomenon was visible in the sky."
"How was that even possible? We are way too far in the south for an aurora," Koushiro said more to himself.

Bill also had no idea how that was possible.
"That thing came down from the sky, you say? So it's something from outer space?" Bill commented on what Koushiro had told him earlier and then added: "And you said, you are not too sure yet, so does that mean, you have an idea?"

Koushiro nodded. "At least I've found out one function that this device has, so far."
Then he held the little device in front of Ledyba and it seemed to scan it. Then the screen in the middle activated and a hologram appeared. In this hologram, a picture of a bug-type Pokémon, that Bill and Koushiro had never seen before, but looked very similar to Ledyba - especially this Ledyba - could be seen and beneath and beside it stood something in what appeared to be the same letters that were written on the circle on the device, that went around the screen.
"Who's that Pokémon? I've never seen it before. And what do those letters say?" Bill wanted to know.
The young boy told Bill that he had been trying to transcript those letters since he found that device, but he wasn't able to decipher it yet, but it probably wouldn't take him too long.
Bill was astonished. If that thing came from the sky when the aurora had appeared, then it meant that the young boy didn't have it that long and he already said that it wouldn't take him too long to decipher that foreign language, or whatever it was.
You could say what you want, but if that was true, that boy really was a genius.
It would take most grown-ups years probably and he was only nine years old.

Koushiro also told him that he also hadn't seen that Pokémon before and had already been trying to find out more about it. He told Bill that he wasn't even sure if it even was a Pokémon.

"Not a Pokémon?" Bill asked bewildered.
Then they started to discuss the theory that Pokémon came from space, as this thing kinda came from space as well.

Of course, Koushiro knew about this theory and had been investigating the matter, but now after all that Bill told him, a new theory came to Koushiro's mind, that he wanted to pursue.

What is that theory that Koushiro came up with?
Will he be able to find out what that device is and decipher the strange symbols on it?
Will he find out who that bug-like creature on the hologram picture was?
And most importantly ... will he be able to find a way to bring Taichi back?

Be excited to find out … as the adventure begins.

Monster-Analyzer:

Ledyba: APokémon that resembles a ladybug. Its wing covers are red with five black spots. Its main body and lower jaw are beige, while the rest of its head is red. It has large, round eyes and a pair of black antennae. It has six black legs with white hands that resemble boxing gloves.

Koushiro's Ledyba: While the red color of a normal Ledyba's wings was going more in the orange direction, this one's red was more going towards the magenta direction. The color of its body was a bit darker than usual and more like ocher with a very slight green tint. The dots on its wings were more dark grey than black and its limbs were more grey than the normal blue. It also had greenish eyes, instead of pure black ones.
