Rey falls victim to the first snow of the season — literally.
Han and Luke are with her when it happens. She catches a patch of ice wrong in the airfield parking lot mid-November. Six to eight weeks in a boot.
While she's preoccupied with It's a Wonderful Life one evening, Ben comes into the living room with gift wrapping supplies, lifts the boot, and starts wrapping.
Rey chuckles, grayscale television light dancing over her tired smile. "What are you doing?"
"When you unwrap it next week, no more crutches."
A stocking might make more sense, but she likes the bow.
