"I'm just wondering… why does your dad sound so mad?" Izuku glanced back at the parents before looking back at the kid by his side.
"He's upset that I left the house."
"Wait. You ran away?" he was shocked, his mother would kill him if he ever left the house without her. "That's dangerous. What if a stranger had found you before your dad came."
"A stranger did find me." Shouto looked into Izuku eyes.
"A stranger?! What did you do? Where is he?" His eyes darted around frantically but didn't see any adults that didn't have children playing at the park.
"It's you. You are no longer a stranger."
"T-that's not what I meant."
~With the Adults~
"What do you mean by a proposition?" Inko glared at the stout man dressed in all red, fire burning on his face. She had seen his face somewhere but couldn't remember where exactly.
"Your son… He was able to get Shouto to stop." His eyes flickered over to the talking children.
"He does this often? Can he not control his quirk?" Her eyes went wide as she wondered for the safety of her own child. Quirkless as he was, he would not be able to save himself if the other child lashed out.
"No, fear not. Shouto has complete control of his power. The issue comes with other things. He does not listen, lashes out towards me and other people. Your son…" he pauses for a second.
"Izuku."
"Yes, Izuku. Your son Izuku, he got him to listen to him. Shouto stopped attacking. I need your son. Have you ever heard the term Handler?" He stopped talking and waited to see if she knew the term.
"No. I've never heard of a handler before." Inko coked her head to the side in thought and confusion.
"They are normally used when the quirk is hard for a person to manage but the quirk is strong enough to be useful or strong enough to cause a lot of damage. While Shouto has perfected his quirk control, he lashes out at everybody that disagrees with what he wants but your son Izuku seems to be able to keep him under control. Would your son be interested in possibly being my son's emotional handler as he becomes a hero?"
"I'm sorry. My son is completely Quirkless. There is no way that he could follow your son into the hero course. Quirkless are not allowed at UA." Inko shook her head sadly. She knew it was her son's dream but everything was stacked against him. Unless the rules of the school were rewritten, he would never have a chance to even try to be a hero.
"Look ma'am. Most of the heroes I know don't even use their powers on most patrols or missions. I have enough pull in the organization being the number two hero that I can have it changed at UA so that he can follow him there. He will join Shouto's training, he will be trained in ways to protect himself and others while bringing down criminals in situations where powers would not be able to be used." Perhaps he was trying to hard to get the green haired boy next to his son, but if he had to wake up one more time after working all night to find his son missing, only to get frozen almost solid when he found him, he was going to scream.
"You can help my son become a hero?" The gears in Inko's head were turning a mile a minute trying to figure out what was best for her son.
"Yes, as long as he puts in the work I can guarantee that he will become a hero. He will of course have to spend every free moment by Shouto's side. While training is important, he will have to train his mind as well. He will be offered the chance to study with Shouto. Public school is okay, but a private education will put him farther down the track to be a hero. It is almost time for lunch, would you and your son like to join Shouto and I? We can talk more about what all it would detail and of course how much I will be paying you and your son, if you decide he can help my son out." Enji wasn't going to lie himself, he had no idea how he was going to be able to handle his youngest without the little green haired child.
Inko knew that it would be best to discuss everything with her son before making a decision so getting more information about it would help her out in the long run. Nodding her head at the man Inko turned towards the children. "Izuku! Time to go love. Bring your friend, his father wants to leave too."
Izuku looked up over at his mom and smiled. "We're coming Momma."
Izuku turned back to Shouto and grabbed his hand pulling him with him. "Come on Sho. Maybe we can set up a play date and I can come over to play!"
"Sho?"
"You don't mind, do you? Friends call each other by nicknames, right? We are friends, aren't we?" izuku tilted his head as he waited for a reply.
"No, we are friends. What should I call you?" Shouto had no idea what to do with a friend, he had never had one before. Not knowing what to do didn't stop him from holding onto Izuku's hand a little tighter though as they walked to their parents.
"Kiri calls me Midobro. You can call me anything you want Sho, just so long as it's a nice name."
"Your name is Izuku. I shall call you Zuku. Is that acceptable?" Shouto followed beside his new friend with ease, never once protesting his return to his father. If Zuku would be able to stay with him, play with him, he would do anything the young green haired boy asked of him.
"Oh! I like that! Zuku is perfect!" Izuku bounced happily as he made it to the parents waiting on their return. Before almost completely hyperventilating when he noticed exactly who his new friend's father was.
"Calm down Izuku." seeing the look on her son's face helped Inko place the man she was talking to. "I'm sorry in advance."
"Sorry for wh.." Enji couldn't even finish his question before the little green haired boy attacked.
"EN...EN...ENDEAVOR!" Izuku dropped his friend's hand and started jumping all around Enji excitably. "Mom! Mom! It's Endeavor! He's ranked number two. His quirk is fire based! Mom!"
Shouto looked from his empty hand to Izuku then to his father, his eyes narrowing as he glared at his father.
"Being in control of fire is one of the coolest quirks! Do you make the fire appear on your face? Or does it do that without you thinking about it? Do you have to shave it with water? Does water even stop it from growing?" The poor little boy didn't seem to breath as question after question left his lips.
"Izuku..." Inko tried to stop him gently, it didn't work.
" OH! Does it grow? Does it burn your face? Of course it doesn't burn your face you're not crying. Have you had any battles with anyone with a water quirk? Does it hurt when your flying with your fire?" Enji began wondering how the little child was still talking, he wasn't sure if he was even breathing.
"Izuku..." Inko tried again to stop her hero obsessed son.
"Have you ever fought one on one with All Might? No.. I would have seen it on the computer. How old were you when your quirk came in? How long did it take you to be able to control it? Were you able to fly with it from the start? Did your fire beard grow in when you got your quirk? Have you..."
"IZUKU MIDORIYA!" She finally had had enough and let the mom enter her voice as she demanded his full attention with his first and last name.
"Yes momma?" Izuku stopped bouncing up and down and looked at his mother, the picture of a sweet little green haired angel.
"Do not crowd Mr. Endeavor, or overwhelm him with questions. I know I taught you better manners than that. Now apologize for your rude behavior."
"Yes momma." Izuku hung his head and lightly kicked at the dirt below his bright red shoes. "I'm sorry Momma. I'm sorry Mr. Endeavor. I'll do better, I promise." Inko nodded her head at her son and reached down to lightly tussle his hair.
"We will be joining Mr. Endeavor and his son for lunch, I expect you to be on your best behavior and not terrorize the number two hero, okay?"
"Mooooooom you're messing up my hair... wait... I get to have lunch with Endeavor and Sho? Yay!"
"If you are good, you can even go play with little Shouto after we eat so me and Mr. Endeavor can have some adult talk."
"Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Come on Sho! You can sit in the back with me!" He grabbed ahold of Shouto's hand again and began walking back to his mother's car. Shouto followed his new friend without a word or complaint, happy to have his attention on him again and not his father. He would have to come up with a suitable punishment for his father after stealing Izuku's attention for the five minutes his hand did not hold his new friend's. It was unacceptable.
Remembering his other friend on the playground, Izuku turned around and yelled.
"KIRI! I'M GOING TO EAT LUNCH, I'LL PLAY WITH YOU NEXT TIME, OKAY?!" Shouto startled a little as his Izuku got loud then turned his glare to the answering child on the other side of the playground.
"OKAY MIDOBRO! SEE YOU NEXT TIME!" The other small child was waving his arm in the air, waving goodbye. Shouto wondered if Izuku would get mad if he 'accidently' froze the park as they left.
