Chapter 9 – Graduation Woes

Torture, that's what this is. Complete torture. I know Crowley gets some sick pleasure from having me graduate multiple times. This will make four times I've graduated. The first three were early. This one actually counts as regular a regular one. I'm looking at myself in the mirror right now. Staring from top to bottom. I guess I could call myself hot. I've actually never thought about it. Not until Jessica made a comment the other day.

The other day….

"This speech is driving me crazy. December help!"

I looked up from the table to see Jessica looking at me waving a paper in my face.

"What the hell Stanley!" I said pushing the paper out of my face.

"I need help! This speech needs to be epic!" she says.

"You're still working on that thing? I would have thought you'd have a hundred drafts and final product done by now," I tell her as I took a bite from my apple smirking. The others snickered.

"Whatever, I'm stuck, please help. You're better at speeches than I am. It's a wonder you're not valedictorian. You're smart, hot, style isn't bad, but could use some work," she says as she picks at my shirt. I cough and she lets go. "But like Bella, you're not head cheerleader, captain of debate club,"

"Exactly, that's why you are valedictorian. I don't have time for that nonsense. Plus, I came towards the end, not enough stock in this place." I interrupt. "Glad to know you think I'm hot though," I smirk. She blushes.

End flashback

Bella and I did help her a bit. She finally got it done. So now, here I am, getting ready. I don't like wearing my hair down, so I put it up in braids. It's super long. Past my butt. I can't bring myself to cut it. The one picture I have of my parents, which is in a locket I wear under my shirts, my mother has her hair down and it looks just as long. I look at my dresser where it lays. I sigh, wishing I could see them. Something about this graduation is making me feel, I don't know, something that's final. Like it could be my last one. 'I hope' I think to myself. Then I think about all that's happened. I spoke to Crowley. He called to check my progress. When I mentioned the group of vampires, he said just to be careful, that they might be who I needed to get closer to my goal. I didn't mention the Cullen's. Something inside me told me not to. He said once my graduation was over, it'd be easier to take on the task fully.

I finished getting ready. Once I went to the table in the kitchen to get my robes there was a knock on the door.

"It's open!" I yelled and Jaspar walked in. I looked at him and he was handsome. Black slacks with black shoes, deep blue button-down dress shirt.

"Ya know, it doesn't suit you, but it does at the same time." I smirk.

"Well darlin, I need to spruce up a bit. Cowboy attire doesn't go good with this atrocious grad garb." He says waving towards my robes.

"Know what you mean." I chose to go with black tights with a long deep purple tunic and flats. Damn it if I get caught in a dress. Hell no!

"That purple really goes with the fire on top of your head sugar," he smiles, as he puts his hand on top of my head affectionately.

I smile up at him and we're lost for a few seconds as I shake my head. "We need to go," I say grabbing the last of my items.

"Let's hit the road," he says as we make our way to the car.

Graduation….

…. "That way when they ask, we won't have to guess, we'll know."

Applause could be heard, and it was deafening. I must admit, Jessica's speech came out rather well. After all the waving, good-byes, good lucks, and see you laters, I was exhausted. I didn't want to be there. The Cullen's didn't want to be there and neither did Bella. I think Dr. and Mrs. Cullen enjoyed it. There's something sinister about wanting and enjoying seeing your "children" matriculate over and over again.

"Why is your face all scrunched up sugar?" Jaspar asked trying not to laugh.

I elbowed him, "a bad thought. Nothing to worry about."

"Hmm, ok." He shrugged, but I know he didn't believe me.

"What do you want to do until the party tonight?"

"Ughh, you had to remind me," I slumped my shoulders. He laughed.

"Let me go see what the others are doing, I'll be right back." He walked off.

"Ahem, hey December."

I turn around to find Mike.

"Hey Newton, what's shakin?" I asked. I already knew what he was going to ask. I felt sorry for this guy. He should've stuck with Jessica.

"Yeah, I was wondering if you had a date for the party at the Cullen's?"

"I don't date," I say looking at him. He shifted on his feet. 'Poor guy'

"Oh, right. Well, would you like to go with me. Not as a date, but a friend maybe?"

"Look Newton, I know what you really want, I'm just not interested."

"Oh come on, I can be your chaperone, or whatever. Keep other guys away, if you're really not interested that is," he quirked his eyebrow and stuck out his hand.

Another hand shot out and took it…. hard. He winced. I didn't have to look to see who's hand it was, I recognize those scars anywhere.

"I believe the lady said no. You should leave." Jaspar said, glaring. Scary.

"Cullen!" Mike backed off quick. "Why is it the Cullens get all the hot ones?" he mumbled.

"Excuse me? Who said "Cullen" got me?" I said pulling my arms across my chest. 'This dude!'

"Oh, well, I…. I assumed…" he stammered.

"Yeah, assumed! Get out of here Newton." I say pointing towards the doors. He mumbled something I'm sure was as he stalked off.

"Imbecile…." Jaspar mumbled. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Well, he wasn't far off. I mean we're not dating, not really even seeing each other, I don't know what the hell we are," I chuckle. "Well anyway care to help this missus out of here good sir?" I asked as I held out my hand.

"Oh, why ma'am, it'd be my pleasure," he takes my hand and gives it a kiss and we walk out laughing.

The whole thing got noticed by EVERYONE.

….

By them time we arrived at the party, I could hear the whispers. Everyone noticed my display with Jaspar, and we're a "thing" apparently. He was enjoying it.

"If only they knew huh?" he said smirking.

"Oh, it's scandalous!" I say laughing at his face.

I watched the scene before us as he and I sat on the stairs. I glanced over and saw Bella talking with a few boys. I didn't recognize them. "Who are they?" I ask Jaspar nodding towards the group.

He looks over, "Jacob and his friends it seems."

"That's Jacob? The famous werewolf best friend but not best friend that she punched in the face?" I asked shocked. He looked so young.

"That would be him."

"Hmm," I take a breath in, "yeah he smells differently than you." I say.

"I smell better though, right?"

I turned to look at him and he looked serious, I snickered. "Jaspar seriously?"

He stiffened and turned to see Edward glaring.

I turned to see what he was staring at, and it seemed Jacob was giving Bella something. I tuned in my hearing.

"For you, just a small gift," Jacob said giving Bella what seemed like a bracelet.

"Ha, that's funny." I say as I sip my drink.

"Edward is going to be brooding for weeks," Jaspar said.

"Hey you, enjoying the party?" Alice asked as she descended the stairs passing us.

"Oh yeah, a blast. I'm getting more drama than the tv," I say waving my hand towards Bella and the others.

She smirks and shakes her head and made her way further down. She came to an abrupt stop at the last few steps.

Jaspar tensed as he looked at her.

"What?" I asked looking at him.

"She's having a vision and by her emotions, it's not a good one." He replied. I looked at her and got up and went towards her, Jaspar right behind me.

"Alice, what is it?" Bella asked as she stood in front of her with Edward beside her.

"The vampires…." She whispered.

"You're not going to Seattle?" Bella stated.

"No, they're coming here," Alice replied. Looking at Bella then turning to me and Jaspar. We all had the same look on our faces.

"Just peachy. A blood party…." I mumbled.

Until next time lovelies!
