Chapter 5 Power of the Sith

The large cyborg Sith apprentice charged at them, his blade raised high. Brano met his reckless charge with a block on his force pike. The red blade hit the specially made staff which was surrounded with an energy shield that allowed it to withstand even the blade of a lightsaber. The martial arts master and the Cyborg Sith then began to duel, at the same time the masked Sith girl made to go and help her fellow. Seeing her slowly approach, Samal took a defensive position with his vibrosword held out in front of him. Yusano did a similar thing, assuming a position, but instead of his blade in front he kept it up high, more aggressive.

"I shall take you alive!" she pointed at Samal.

She spun her lightsaber, it was the double bladed variant similar to the staff. Two red shimmering blades made a circle as she spun it in a frightening display. There was glee in her voice as she'd spoken. Then she positioned the lightsaber behind herself, putting her free hand forward. A burst of blue lightning shot from her palm, hitting Samal in the chest. He screamed, dropping his vibrosword to the ground and collapsing.

"Samal!" Yusano screamed in concern for his friend.

The masked Sith laughed.

"Once you master the dark side nothing can stop you!" she declared. "The Jedi can never be our equals, because they don't use the force as a weapon!"

She extended her hand in Yusano's direction. He was lifted into the air a foot off his feet, his left hand holding his throat and his mouth hanging open and gagging as though he were being choked.

"Yu-Yusano!" Samal shouted.

"Foolish forceless people," the sadistic masked Sith girl continued. "You can never stand against the power of the dark side. You deserve to be crushed like the insects you are!"

She turned her choking hand into a flat surface and thrusted it forward. Yusano went flying backward, he hit one of the parked police speeders as the police watched from behind their barricade. That seemed to be the signal for them to intervene.

"Open fire!" Captain Pakano ordered his men.

They aimed and fired at the Sith. The larger cyborg one who was still dueling with Master Brano stepped away from him, using his lightsaber to deflect the incoming bolts with what seemed like an impenetrable defense that Samal envied. Brano was force to duck onto the grass in order to avoid getting hit by the bolts while Samal was more or less safe as they passed over him toward the masked Sith who spun her two blades in her own strong defense. As for the leading Sith Lady behind them she held out her hand. The three bolts that went toward her stopped mere feet away from her, then reversed course, hitting their own shooters who fell with shouts. She then waved her hand though it did nothing Samal could see. He heard more blaster fire coming from behind them, but no bolts traveled out toward the three Sith during that moment. Looking back, Samal saw that one of the soldiers in the party had turned on their comrades and begun shooting them down.

"What are you doing?" one of the others shouted before being gunned down. "Arggh!"

The Sith Lady waved her hand again and a policemen joined with the rogue soldier in shooting their comrades. Brano watched in horror as he still lay on the grass. Samal gritted his teeth, he had to do something! He still felt the pain from the lightning earlier.

Come on! He shouted mentally. Heal!

Why did he think that? It wasn't possible for him to just heal himself was it? He might have been force sensitive but he didn't know how to control it. He vividly remembered when he was ten he'd been able to push a sparring partner without touching them. When he'd had a bully at the Junior Academy that had kept harassing him and calling him a nerd for doing good in school when he could be good at sports instead. He'd wished the boy would fall out of his seat, looking at its leg and imagining it cracking… which it did.

He'd been able to use the force without meaning to by willing it to do something and it did. If he could do that… maybe he could heal. Not a lot but enough to be able to not feel the pain anymore.

Heal! He continued to think. Heal. Heal.

Brano charged at the Cyborg Sith who blocked his assault, letting the martial arts master come after him with a grin, not even bothering to counterattack. What was he waiting for? At the same time the soldiers and police were slaughtering each other, only a few remained, and Samal couldn't see Yusano but… somehow… he knew his friend was alive. He had to be.

The masked Sith girl laughed again, clearly enjoying the suffering her superior was causing.

"Ingenious Master Linassa! Making our enemies kill each other! Nothing can stand against the power of the dark side! The Jedi probably would not have thought to do such a thing being the cowards they are!"

Samal glared at her through the pain, which was now lessening, enabling him to sit up. "The Jedi… have defeated you every time! Naga Sadow… Exar Kun… Revan… the Sith Emperor… they all… LOST!"

"Silence!" she roared at him and fired another bolt of lightning.

"Arrgh!" Samal screamed as he was hit again.

She looked over to where her fellow was dueling Brano. "Hey just finish him off already Malor!"

The Cyborg frowned at his fellow.

"I'm having too much fun with this old man Sadastra!"

His looking away gave Brano the opportunity to land a hit with the shaft of his force pike. Unfortunately it didn't any damage against the thick black durasteel armor. The Cyborg Sith… Malor glared at him and then began his counter assault at last.

"You should have stabbed me instead! That would gotten through my armor!" Malor roared.

The red blade let out a series of quick and strong strikes that forced the Echani master on the defensive now. Despite the heavy looking armor the Cyborg was not slow in the slightest. Samal could barely even keep track of the blade.

Then a horrible thing happened.

Brano's force pike was knocked aside, and Malor slashed him across the chest. The Echani Master fell, his upper body splitting from the rest. Samal's mouth hung open as the event seemed to play out in slow motion before his sapphire blue eyes. Then the two body halves hit the ground as Malor stood over him.

"Noo!" Samal screamed.

Only to be shot with lightning once again from behind by Sadastra. It was far more painful this time. Samal screamed and was knocked unconscious as the masked Sith girl walked toward him, extinguishing the twin blades of her lightsaber.

Malor looked down upon the fallen remains of the Echani Master as he too deactivated his weapon. He then bowed to Brano.

"You were a worthy foe," he said. "That was fun."

The Sith Lady… Linassa came forward. "Grab that boy. He will become my third apprentice."

Malnor walked over to Samal, he bent down and hoisted the young man over his shoulder. He was heavy, though not as much so as the Cyborg. Spotting the vibrosword the force sensitive had used, the Sith warrior called it into his hand with the force.

"Nice sword," he said to the unconscious man. "Switch the blue lighting to red and it would be a perfect weapon for a Sith."

Above the Sith and their new prisoner, more shuttles carrying their troops came to surface. Linassa could sense the Sith were quickly over taking the planet on both land and space. The Republic fleet was severely overmatched. It would take a miracle to save it now.

The Comorus Eagle flew above the city of Kaadara where their quarry lived. The hatched in the back opened. They had originally planned to land at the space port but it was being surrounded by Sith fighters to prevent anyone from escaping. Ralon Ogan and Jaster Grail stepped out onto the hatch… they couldn't land without the risk of having the fighters tear them to pieces. So they had one choice.

"Jump!" Ralon ordered his padawan once they were close enough to the buildings below.

The two Jedi leapt from their ship.

A/N

Well.. I got captured! How long will that last before the Jedi rescue me? I might have to take a few chapters in my unwilling Sith training. It might not be 10 chapters before I get my lightsaber or lightsabers depending on how many I decide for myself. My favorite kind of lightsaber is probably the split saber that can come apart to form a double blade or two separate ones, but we'll see.

Now for weeks review from Onasicorp. I'm glad to have gotten another one. He has probably seen my reply to that but I thought I'd share it in case anyone else wanted to know. So Wookies and Trandoshans are usually enemies but in the case of the two on the Comorus Eagle they are in close proximity on the ship. That could conflict with the Jedi's role as peacekeepers possibly. Though the characters are still in development there so once I get their backstories painted perhaps I will have things clear there. The way I have Ralon in my mind is that he's more of an unorthodox Jedi like Anakin Skywalker, more of the aggressive military kind rather than traditional like Obi Wan Kenobi.

To give you a description of the three Sith featured here this is how I built them.

Linassa: Sith Inquisitor like Darth Sidious who specializes in dark powers or mind control.

Malnor: The strong cyborg Sith Warrior like Darth Vader, he enjoys dueling and uses the Soresu form in order to prolong the battles to relish it. Always stays on defense until he gets angry and switches to a more aggressive form, probably Djem So or Juyo.

Sadastra: The sadistic (pun intended) assassin who likes to torture with lightning and believes the dark side superior like many Sith.
